Featured Work: Roanoke Church of Christ, TexasEditor’s Note: Why do some congregations have immediate results while others take six months or longer? Several factors must be considered in this question. Some congregations have low-hanging fruit in their pews, while others have already picked that fruit. Some congregations roll out the model immediately while others are more deliberate and take longer. Regardless, if you trust the process and work the plan, God will give the increase in due time. The Roanoke congregation has worked hard. The results were not seen immediately. This past week, things changed, and we are excited to feature their work in this report. Reliance on God The words of the apostle Paul have been running through my mind for the last several weeks. He said in Galatians 6:9, “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.” Rob came to Roanoke back in November, and he set our congregation on fire. We were ready to get to work with an “all hands on deck” kind of mentality. We were writing cards, preaching sermons, scheduling and attending training sessions, and setting up Bible studies. It was truly awesome to see! I know that I was ready to see some results right away! Yet perhaps we needed to practice patience and reliance on God before we could see progress. Fast forward six months, and the first restoration and the first baptism took place, just 48 hours apart. George Williams is a long-time member of Roanoke, but he quit coming several years ago. He was one of our very first prospects. He received cards for several weeks, which he loved—especially the kids’ cards. One of our elders contacted him and set a date for supper. They talked, and George agreed to a study. After about five weeks of study, George repented of his unfaithfulness and has been back ever since. He is even attending our New Converts class. What a joy that is to see! Skye Wilson is our new sister in Christ. She and her husband, Kendal (who is already a Christian), have been visiting Roanoke for a few weeks. They came to us from a neighboring congregation. Skye has a melting pot of backgrounds, including Pentecostal, community church, and other religions. However, for about the last six years, she attended a church of Christ with her husband. Unfortunately, no one ever inquired about her background or asked if she would be willing to study. After I preached a sermon on Biblical authority a couple of weeks ago, she approached me. She mentioned that she had been baptized multiple times in different denominations, and she wondered if she needed to be baptized again since she was attending a church of Christ. I am not sure there could be a more open door than that. So I jumped at the opportunity, and I said, “Great question. Would you be willing to sit down with me and study about it?” She said yes, and we scheduled a study for that evening after services. That study continued for a week and a half, and on April 22, after completing Book 3 of BTTB, she obeyed the Gospel. Kaylon, my wife, was instrumental in helping with the study. What a blessing it is to work in the Kingdom of God. God’s provision of fruit is amazing when His people work together to expand His Kingdom. Let us all continue to work together and not lose heart! Congregational ReportsWelcome Chalmette church of Christ, Louisiana: “We welcome the Chalmette church of Christ to the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. This congregation has dedicated servants and is in a highly populated area. They began the training lesson on John 4 Sunday.” Welcome Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: “In 2019, the Gonzales church of Christ invited us to come and provide our seminar. This was during the very beginning stages of the school, and we lacked the training and an executable model. They wanted us to come back and enroll in HTHSOE and gain access to the congregational curriculum. They had a noticeable uptick in conversions after our 2019 event, and now they are ready to push forward by involving the membership.” Glencoe church of Christ, Alabama: Keith Ritchie (evangelist) reports, “Glencoe church of Christ had returning visitors from last week. Two of our members are prospecting them, and it looks like a Bible study will be forthcoming. We still have four studies ongoing, and the congregation as a whole is working hard for the Kingdom of Christ. Our elders are front and center in every aspect of the work, shepherding and leading by example. A strong eldership is vitally important to the evangelistic efforts of any congregation. Pray for strong elders, busy workers, new converts, and Bible studies that prick hearts. To God be the glory!” Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Josh Halloway (preacher) reports, “We are excited that we have officially started the HTHSOE curriculum on April 27. This week, several of our elders have become actively involved in evangelism. One elder is organizing the information from our post-seminar survey. Our elders have started the process of selecting leaders for our various evangelism categories. Some of our elders are visiting with one of our prospects who just finished the Back to the Bible study. We set up our evangelism table in the front and started passing out some material. We also assigned someone to our accountability board. We started with our bookmarks as a congregation. On Sunday night, we had nine contact cards filled out that fit the category we were asking for this week. We will move those nine individuals to be our first prospects as we go forward.” West Huntsville church of Christ, Alabama: Paul Owen (evangelist) reports, “We have a couple who are members at West Huntsville who have been inviting their neighbors to services. Tonight they will complete the third Bible study booklet. Let us all pray that the individual will be baptized into Christ!” Hartselle church of Christ, Alabama: Justin Smith (preacher) reports, “This week we passed out and discussed the contact bookmarks in the Sunday morning service. The response was great, especially following a moving lesson on evangelism. In the coming weeks, we look to lean into creating contacts by discussing the bookmarks each Sunday morning. Our elders and ministers are meeting weekly to make sure the effort gets off to a good start. May all that we do is for the glory of God!” Highland Park church of Christ, Muscle Shoals, Alabama: Andrew Myhan (deacon) reports, “We set up times to eat with visitors this week. We have a few Bible studies still ongoing. We need to introduce some new people to the program, and are gauging them for coordinator positions. We have also started a new blurb in the weekly bulletin focused on evangelism.” Central church of Christ, Saraland, Alabama: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “We continue to thrive with a focus on evangelism. We had numerous visitors on Sunday, April 27. This is because we have members inviting people. We are going to follow up with the visitors and pray that they will agree to have Bible studies. Let the Lord’s work be done!” Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We have one Bible study going on. I think they are moving slowly through the green booklet right now. We are still looking to get coordinators in place for the different parts of the program. David and I are making visits to those who are coming off the prospect list. We have several visits to make this week. Hopefully, we can turn some into Bible studies. We had one in-town visitor yesterday, and several people welcomed/greeted him. He was invited to lunch and the church picnic we had last night. Unfortunately, he was not able to make it, but hopefully we planted the seed. We finished the preaching/training schedule, and now we just need to get the different parts of the program rolling.” Petersville church of Christ, Florence, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “The Petersville family had a good meeting with Rob last week, and his advice was well received. We are looking to incorporate more of the training from the online curriculum, as well as hand out another round of invitation cards in the coming week. We took one visiting family to lunch Sunday afternoon, and we still have a scheduled Bible study with other visitors. Our new model of using Bible classes to help with our compassion cards is still in its first week, but we sent out 65 cards last week.” Hatton church of Christ, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “We were blessed with two baptisms this week. Kinslee Smith obeyed the Gospel. She is part of a sweet family that has been coming to worship lately. Jack Wilson was also baptized this week after being encouraged by several in the congregation who knew him in our community. God continues to give the increase!” Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “This past week our second round of compassion cards went out to 17 individuals. Last night after services, our third group of card writers, consisting of 18 people, met and wrote 110 cards for 22 people! We have four ongoing Bible studies, and more are being scheduled. We are working on the process, and the process is working. Additionally, we are adding a College/Young Adult class with our new quarter beginning next Sunday, and are developing our New Members class as well. With more and more visitors each Sunday, there is an excitement among our members who are involved, and those who were at first reluctant are slowly coming around.” Rison church of Christ, Arkansas: Keden Shrum (preacher) reports, “We had a family of three visit us Sunday morning. Care Team A met Sunday evening to work on compassion cards, which included the visiting family. Chandra and I will be having dinner with another family this week, and we are praying that it will lead to a Bible study.” Windsor church of Christ, Colorado: Lucas Stephens (member) reports, “We had another great opportunity to worship God at Windsor this week! We visited with a couple of visitors. Our New Movers program is off and running. We visited nine homes and presented gifts to our new neighbors. We believe we will have a couple of prospects out of this opportunity. We sent cards to seven families this week as well.” Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “We have implemented the Evangelism Model with six of our Prodigal Members. We sent them compassion cards, and the elders have diligently followed up with each one. Unfortunately, none of them have returned to the fold. While some may consider that discouraging, we see it as having provided us an opportunity to express our love and concern for each of them, reaching out once again. The seed was nurtured again in their hearts, and we believe results may come a little later, in God’s timing. Here are our 2025 Year-to-Date Accountability Board numbers: 140 Contacts; 25 Visitors; 81 Neighbors (Prospects whom we have loved and/or studied with); 37 Bible Studies (total completed); 1063 Compassion Cards sent; and seven Baptisms.” Lake Forest church of Christ, Jacksonville, Florida: Brian Howard (preacher) reports, “We began the evangelism program yesterday, preaching the John 4 sermon and passing out the bookmarks. It was all well received. We have had several visitors and will be writing cards this coming Sunday evening. There is excitement in the air!” Wildwood church of Christ, Florida: Tony Clay (evangelist) reports, “We continue to train the congregation and seek to motivate them to action. Our evangelism table will be complete this week. We have distributed surveys to the congregation and are preparing coordinators to step into their roles. Over the next few weeks, we will begin the practical implementation of the groundwork we have started to lay out. There is considerable enthusiasm, and this process has been a powerful reminder of the need to care about souls!” Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “The exciting news this week is that Cruz Gonzales was baptized last Wednesday night. He has been studying more and wanted to make sure that his decision to be baptized was based on the right Biblical reasons. This week, we had a meeting for everyone involved in this ministry on Sunday afternoon. We are going to send out a video of the meeting for those who could not attend. I went over our results since we began this ministry, which included studies with 28 people and 21 baptisms. We have also had restorations, including three this year, and we have encouraged people to attend more faithfully simply by lifting them up in prayer. We also discussed increasing involvement and reaching more lost souls for Christ. We have two studies on hold due to sickness. We had three studies this week with new Christians. We had two visitors on Sunday; they are looking for a church home. We had one new contact from benevolence and one from the community. We sent out five cards.” Avalon church of Christ, Florida (remote): Preston Silcox (elder) reports, “We had three Bible studies last week, with follow-up studies planned for this week. Sunday was a great day. We had 80 in attendance, with 17 visitors (12 non-Christians, two Christians, and three children). We are following up with cards, texts, and visits.” Oak Hill church of Christ, Rome Georgia: Matt Wallin (member) reports, “Last week’s report celebrated Austin’s baptism. This week, Austin baptized his girlfriend, Katelyn! Just think about it—he was baptized one Friday, and he baptized his first person the very next week! Katelyn has been attending every service with Austin since the beginning. Although they came together, we arranged their Bible studies separately so each could study in a way to ensure that each made a thoughtful, personal decision about salvation. Austin and Katelyn have been consistently involved: attending Sunday morning Bible class, Sunday morning worship, Monday night college devotionals, Wednesday night Bible class, and Friday night Bible reading. On top of that, Jason and Kelsey Rucker set up a study with Katelyn using Back to the Bible. The first study on Tuesday night went so well that she requested to do the second study on Thursday and the third study on Friday. While we usually space the studies out to allow time for reflection, Katelyn was eager and ready to move forward. After several hours of study on Friday night, Katelyn decided to be baptized! Jason and Kelsey encouraged Austin to be the one to baptize her. The journey is beautiful: Rod and some of the college group first invited Katelyn. Katelyn invited her boyfriend, Austin. Austin studied with Rod and Victoria and became a Christian. They kept coming. Katelyn studied with Jason and Kelsey — and now she, too, is a Christian. And this Sunday, Katelyn brought a friend for the first time.” Bremen church of Christ, Georgia: Scott Broughton (evangelist) reports, “Our New Converts class is continuing this quarter with Bob S. as the facilitator. On Sunday, we had several visitors from the community. We pray they will continue to attend.” Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Larkin Cook (member) reports, “The WCOC congregation attended the Sunabella of Towne Lake Assistant Living devotional on Sunday. They had five non-Christian attendees. The New Movers’ Door-knocking Campaign delivered five baskets for those at home and seven door hangers for those not at home, for a total of twelve houses visited. The HTH Door- knocking Campaign is set for next Saturday in preparation for Friends Day on Sunday, May 4, 2025. The Compassion Cards group sent cards this week. WCOC had six non-Christian visitors this Sunday morning. We also had two Bibles Studies this past week.” Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “We baptized Doug into Christ on Friday. He had a heart transplant last October, and his health problems made him think about eternity. Bible studies with others are ongoing.” Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (elder) reports, “Our New Converts’ class is moving right along. Our new brethren are learning more and more each week. We had a visitor to the Wednesday afternoon Bible Class. We gave her a visitor bag. We had more repeat visitors Sunday. This past week, we conducted three personal Bible Studies. Others were canceled due to sickness and other conflicts. We packed New Movers’ baskets and bundled invitation cards. We have been going out twice each week to deliver baskets and make follow-up visits. We mailed 204 compassion cards this week. We currently have around 70 prospects showing interest in the church. One of our elders, Ray, and another member, Rex, mowed Ray’s neighbor’s grass. She is having knee problems and is now on the list to receive cards. We will be conducting a Door-Knocking day on May 17. We will then share lunch together. The work continues!” Judah church of Christ, Bloomington, Indiana: Joe Moon (preacher) reports, “We added two prospects this week. There are three contacts being prospected; one is ready for a visit but is working out of town for an extended amount of time, and another couple is ready for a visit.” Highland Village church of Christ, Bloomington, Indiana: Mark Stauffer (elder) reports, “Good news! Kayla New recently moved to Bloomington, and she and her family are worshiping with the Highland Village congregation. We studied the subject of baptism at our midweek Bible study. Kayla immediately responded that she realized she was not scripturally baptized and needed to be baptized. The baptistery at Highland Village is down for repairs, so we contacted a sister congregation, and Kayla was baptized for the remission of her sins. We sent 17 cards last week and made one visit. Two visitors, members of the church who recently moved to Bloomington, attended our worship. We continue with weekly training and encouragement of the congregation.” Beloit church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dustin Dougherty (regional trainer) reports, “We had 36 in attendance Sunday morning, with two more names put forward to receive compassion cards during announcements. We are having a men’s Bible study and prayer breakfast this coming Saturday. I pray some of the area men will be able to join us. To God be the glory.” Poole church of Christ, Kentucky: Andrew Wynne (preacher) reports, “It was a good week for us this past week in Poole. On Sunday night (4/27), we distributed more compassion cards for the members to write. We plan on sending them out as early as this week. We are currently in Book 2 of Back to the Bible in our Wednesday night class and plan to study this Wednesday night (4/30) about instrumental music in worship. We have a number of members who have been very helpful in our evangelism efforts. Please pray that God will continue to help us as we seek to do His will.” Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (preacher) reports, “We were thrilled last Monday when Jeremy Brush was baptized into Christ. Jeremy has been attending Central for a few years and has been ‘talked to’ about baptism for a while. However, he wanted this to be his decision, so he contacted our Youth and Family Minister, Noah Davis, privately and told him he had been studying and thinking and was now ready. After having a brief study to help with a few thoughts, Jeremy was baptized just after noon. What a joy! We are also excited that we are getting excellent traction from our booth at our local farmer’s market. Most of those who are coming to our booth want correspondence courses, and we are glad about that, but so far, only one has agreed to a personal study. Two of our ladies are following up with her, and it seems that the study will occur soon. Another guest was with us on Sunday, and one of our ladies took her out to lunch. She is new to our area, but she was very interested in the services and is already willing to study the Bible. That is being set up with one of our ladies. Also, one of our elders is working to set up a study with an engaged couple who has been visiting with us. Finally, we introduced a new piece of our evangelism model on Sunday night. We are looking to begin ‘Community Classes;’ we will offer life skills classes to our local community, but each class must also include a Bible study. We want our community to see that God and His Word provide the wisdom needed to do anything in this life. Please pray for us as we continue the brainstorming, and Lord willing, the implementation of this part of our work in the coming weeks and months.” Aberdeen church of Christ, Maryland: Will Brown (preacher) reports, “This week, we are focusing on developing a fresh list of prospects. With two active Bible studies, we are expanding our Bible study team to meet the growing need. Our evangelism table and accountability boards are regularly updated and maintained to support these efforts. We are seeing real progress as we come alongside new believers, helping them to strengthen their faith and become firmly rooted in Christ. We appreciate all prayers for our Bible studies as we move forward.” La Plata church of Christ, Maryland (remote): Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “We had a great week here at the La Plata church of Christ. We added another soul to the Body this week. Brother Justin Melindez put the Lord on in baptism on Thursday. We currently have five open bible studies. One person is entering Book 3 of Back to the Bible. Two are beginning Book 2, and two others are starting Searching for Truth. Our Advanced Teacher Training Class completed Chapter 3 in How to Close the Study (Essentials to a Successful Close) last week. Tomorrow we are taking the team out to deliver New Movers baskets to ten people on the list. Starting this Friday, we are taking a break from the video of the week training class. We will start teaching a Back to the Biblerefresher course to the saints online via Zoom. We have members from several local congregations and a couple of out-of-state congregations included in the class. We are all super excited to be going through the Back to the Bible training again, and we will add Does it Matter? and Believe the Bible to this year’s training. We only sent one compassion card with multiple signatures this week. Our Wednesday night Bible study class is entering Chapter 3, “Assurance,” of Growing in Christ. We appreciate all prayers as we strive to evangelize our community and implement the HTH/HTHSOE model, here in La Plata, Maryland.” Highway 160 church of Christ, West Plains, Missouri: Marvin Hatley (elder) reports, “We are three weeks into our congregational training with those who are interested. We are focusing on the basics and working through the model one step at a time. We have several good prospects and a few studies ongoing.” Iuka church of Christ, Mississippi: Sam Glover (preacher) reports, “We conducted a door knocking for part of Iuka Saturday and had two attendees Sunday as a direct result. We had an evangelism committee meeting last night to review, touch base for follow-ups, and the like. By my count, after the door knocking, we had 12 contacts, all of whom we are following up on. Robert is a good point of contact, but I do not mind touching base and passing info along.” Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Terry Hale (evangelist) reports, “We have a new brother in Christ; his name is Joshua. We rejoice in his decision. We are continuing in training weekly, with studies continuing in all three books. We request prayers especially for the four prospects who are in Book 3. We have four new visits to make this week.” East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “We had two visits during last week. God answered our prayers that our visitor, who came consistently during the week, came to the worship service on Sunday. We are praying that it will continue. For the worship service, we had two visitors. We will close out our metrics for the month of April with 50 compassion cards sent, 16 prospects, seven visits to us, and seven ongoing Bible studies. We appreciate all prayers.” New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) reports, “Tim came to a funeral we had over a year ago here at the church building. The man who had died was a friend of his and a member here (the member had come out of Catholicism a couple of years prior). Tim was impressed with the service and the meal the ladies provided after the service. He was at a point in his life when he knew he needed to turn his life around. He and his wife started attending with us. Brethren welcomed them with loving arms. Several of our families have had them out to eat over the course of the last few months. He and I started talking ‘Bible,’ and while I could never get him to fully commit to an in-home Bible study, he would text me with questions. Because there are several folks like Tim coming, I have spent a great deal of time from the pulpit preaching on fundamentals of faith, salvation, and the church. A couple of weeks ago, I gave him a few of my study outlines on baptism and this past week he was baptized.” Whispering Hills church of Christ, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma: Matt McBrayer (preacher) reports, “We have been focusing our attention on another big day. This coming Sunday, we will be starting our lectureship, which will run through Wednesday. For a few months, we have been pumping up our members (as best as we can) to invite as many people as possible to the first day of our lectureship. We have called it “Maximum Capacity Sunday” (an idea I took from the late Larry Acuff). The goal is simple. We will just try to fill every seat in the auditorium for Sunday morning. We will have a fellowship meal to follow, and we hope this helps us make several contacts. The ladies who make our visitors’ bags have made sure to make extra (somewhere around 50 bags) so that we have enough to hand out to any visitors present. We are looking forward to seeing what the brethren can do. In addition to this, we had five visitors yesterday; we took one person to lunch, and we set up a Bible study with that person. Our visitor, who had previously expressed a desire to place membership, did so yesterday. We have only been doing this work for a little over two months, and we have already increased our membership by six people. We believe in the work that we are doing, but we also know that the Lord is blessing us in our efforts. I personally look forward to writing these updates every Monday and encourage the brethren here to read them.” Porter church of Christ, Oklahoma: Nathan Boyd (elder) reports, “We had our fourth compassion card night. We wrote 175 cards and are mailing them out to 20 households to be delivered over five days. Sixteen are from Group A, the compassion card team, and they came to demonstrate their faith through their works, and three from other groups stayed as well. Thank you to the members of the congregation. Dan (preacher) had one Bible study. Metric board numbers as of April 27 are as follows: 22 visitors, 735 cards, 51 prospects, four Bible studies, and one baptism. A second group from our care list will receive three weeks of cards, approximately 40+ cards per person. We are working on completing visits with the first group and will be adding the next group to our visit list. Terry Brackett (elder) invited the congregation to the New Convert class starting on May 4, 2025. On Sunday morning, Dan started Book 2 of Back to the Bibleduring the service and then finished it during adult class.” Coweta church of Christ, Oklahoma: Keno Shrum (regional trainer) reports, “Last Sunday, new convert Breylan invited his parents to worship services. Afterwards, I invited them to come to our house for dinner. They agreed and came over on Thursday evening. During the evening, I asked them the three Introductory Questions. I then moved to the Transitional Questions. When I asked the third question about learning more about the church of Christ, they said they would. So we got out the Bibles and went through Book 1 of Back to the Bible. They enjoyed the study, and we will get together soon for Book 2. The Introductory and Transition Questions provide a very effective way to build relationships and move into a Bible study. When the model is followed, Bible studies and baptisms happen.” Sullivan Village church of Christ, Oklahoma: Steven Hill (preacher) reports, “We are continuing to move forward as we look forward to our evangelism reboot coming up later this month with Keno Shrum. The members are getting excited, and we are expecting a lot of participation. We hope to transform the culture of the church and establish new, long-lasting evangelistic habits! Also, one of the elders and I have been studying with a man named Rob, who has been a Free-Will Baptist for over 20 years. We have gone successfully through the first two studies, and this Thursday we will get to the third one. We appreciate all prayers for this effort.” Owasso church of Christ, Oklahoma: David Combs (elder) reports, “On Sunday morning in our Adult Bible class, we continued with our study of the Back to the Bible booklets. Before we closed our morning service, we prayed for the folks on our bookmark cards. On Sunday evening, we continued our study of the training cards with this session on New Movers. The following evening, Team 4 met in the annex for a 45-minute card-writing session. Nineteen people turned out to write 150 cards to go out this week for ten prospects. It was great to see the congregation getting involved! We currently have two Bible studies in progress, with Solomon taking a brief pause due to job-related travel. We put our accountability board on the Evangelism Materials Table, and it runs on our screen in the auditorium between Bible class and Worship.” York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “Fred and Pam are on vacation this week, so one of our members, Dan, filled in with a wonderful sermon about Luke 15. The work of restoration is part of evangelism. We did not have any new visitors or contacts, so we did not send cards. Next week will be our monthly fellowship meal and visitation meeting.” Union church of Christ, South Carolina (remote): Terry Hale (evangelist) reports, “We are continuing to train weekly with studies continuing in all three books. We especially appreciate prayers for four prospects who are in Book 3 of Back to the Bible. We will make four visits this week.” Stewart’s Creek church of Christ, Smyrna, Tennessee: Jon McCord (member) reports, “I met with the elders and some members that are volunteering to help out with Training 4, including myself. Greg (our preacher) has already gone through the John 4 sermons, so we are playing catch-up. We plan to begin this coming Sunday with the evening lesson on ‘Making It Operational’ and then do this with the second and third evening training classes. We are planning to take some breaks so we can start getting people into coordinator roles and have some establishment before going to the next steps.” New Union church of Christ, Manchester, Tennessee: Paul Fultz (elder) reports, “We had nine visitors from our community on Sunday. We sent out 35 compassion cards. We had two in our New Converts class. We made five transition visits.” Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (evangelist) reports, “I wanted to share some exciting updates from Collierville church of Christ this past week. We have officially begun setting up our Compassion Card program. A designated room is now open to all members, and we have installed wall organizers for better organization (photos to come soon). There has been a significant increase in member involvement, with many excited to sign up for different roles in the program. Our next training session will take place on Sunday evening, and the congregation is eager to continue this work. Recently, we sent out cards to several visitors, and everyone has filled out evangelism bookmarks. This Sunday, we will be turning some of these individuals into contacts, which is an exciting next step for us. In addition to the Compassion Card program, we have been conducting Bible studies with two individuals. Our first study with Mark Zoran went well. Initially, Mark was quite defensive, even questioning the wording of the study questions. However, as the study progressed, he began to open up and relax, expressing sincere interest in continuing the study. We have scheduled our next session in two weeks, and we are hopeful for further progress. Though our congregation is small in number, we are mighty in heart. I could not be more proud of the progress we have already made, and I am looking forward to sharing more updates on what comes next. We appreciate all the support and guidance we have received. We are excited to be part of the larger effort to reach the lost and grow the Kingdom.” Philadelphia church of Christ, Lebanon, Tennessee (remote): Alex Graves (associate preacher) reports, “We were able to write 48 cards this week and are continuing to get more prospects. We are still learning the program, but we are progressing in figuring out a timeline for ourselves and trying to work hard.” Blackman church of Christ, Murfreesboro, Tennessee (remote): Brian McCord reports, “We have started a new relationship with a program for adults with mental disabilities. They are now using our building five days a week. We had six visitors from that program yesterday morning. We have sent out around 25 cards in the past week and will be making more visits to the 4-week recipients. As of now, we have no Bible studies in progress.” Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “We had over 300 for worship yesterday, for the first time in a long time! We had over 30 new visitors for our Friends and Family day, which will provide us lots of opportunities for contacts. We look forward to following up with each one.” Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “Our focus continues to stay on reaching the lost. We recently added several new names for our New Mover group to contact. We will be doing this over the next couple of weeks. We pray for additional contacts from this effort and others as involvement increases.” McEwen church of Christ, Tennessee: John Jones (preacher) reports, “Our Bible studies continue to go well. We have three more studies lined up this week. We continue to develop prospects from our different contact ministries.” Birdwell Chapel church of Christ, Cottontown, Tennessee: Kerry England (elder) reports, “Birdwell Chapel is continuing to implement the evangelism model and put it into practice. We began the New Movers program this month and have made our first visits to deliver buckets with household supplies and our congregational information. Several ladies were instrumental in assembling these gifts. We have a room set up and stocked for the Compassion Card ministry. This Sunday, we welcomed seven visitors and made connections. We have three prospects. We are praying we can soon have Bible studies with these individuals. We appreciate all prayers.” Rivergate church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “We had a Spring Bring at Rivergate on Sunday. We had about 50 over our normal attendance. Several were family members, but a good number were friends of our members. Several of those stayed for our meal afterwards, which gave us time to talk and get to know them. We had two visitors last week; we also had one restoration last week.” White Oak church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee (remote): John McGiffin (preacher) reports, “We have secured a table/booth for June 21 at the Red Bank 70th Anniversary celebration. We will be distributing invitation cards, past issues of House to House, tracts, and free bottles of water. We hope the water will lead to a discussion about Living Water. We will also have a prayer board so folks can fill out a contact card and request prayers. We will have prayer ‘partners’ on hand who will pray with folks at the very moment if requested. This coming Sunday, we have our Gospel Meeting. This is the first time in MANY years to conduct a Gospel Meeting. The theme is ‘Why Should I Be a Christian?’ We have distributed 600 personal invitation postcards. Our Facebook advertisement for the event has run for four weeks and has been viewed by 21,174 people in a five-mile radius of the building. Our website has had 262 clicks on our website. Many strangers have liked or loved the advertisement. Several have left positive messages like ‘praying for you.’ We spent $95.31, and it will run for six more days.” West Fayetteville church of Christ, Tennessee: Steve Jefferson (elder) reports, “Good afternoon from the West Fayetteville congregation. We rejoice in adding a new member to our congregation. We had a young lady who was restored and desired to serve with us at West Fayetteville. We are thankful when one comes back to faithful service. We will hopefully resume our four Bible studies this week. Our compassion card sending has slowed down. We have three contacts who will receive 12 cards each this week.” Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “Another indication of the growing influence of our newer Christian members sharing their faith was evident yesterday. Hunter invited a co-worker to the worship assembly. The young man expressed interest in religion, so Hunter made the simple invitation, and he attended. Lord willing, this will present an opportunity for a new Bible study.” Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “We began our New Converts class Sunday morning. Wade and I are teaching this class. We had two recent converts present; two others had planned to come, but they had last-minute problems and could not be there this week. We look forward to this class growing, and we hope these ‘babes’ who attend will grow as well. The Spanish class continued, and two sisters who attended our services also attended church on Sunday. They had been having medical problems, but now it seems they are okay and can study once again. We had a fellowship and game night Saturday evening. We had invited some recent visitors, but they failed to show up. We will be following up with them soon. Bianca has been attending our services recently, and a study is being conducted with her. We will be sending out cards Sunday evening.” Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Mel Hutzler (elder) reports, “We had another baptism. Matt from the How Foundation put Christ on in baptism Saturday night. We are thankful for his decision and appreciate Anthony for teaching him. It is wonderful to see the men from the How Foundation supporting and encouraging one another in their Christian walk. We have the Ferris family coming to help us in evangelism starting at the very end of July (they will be with us for a year).” Southwest church of Christ, Austin, Texas: Bryce Mayfield (evangelist) reports, “This week is going to be, Lord willing, a busy week of evangelism. Two studies are planned. Also, we had a visitor who visited us because she has been reading the House to House publication, which is being mailed out. We are sending cards to her, as well as 13 others on our list. We also plan to do some follow-up visits, new movers basket deliveries, and some other evangelistic efforts with some of our students here at the Southwest School of Bible Studies. We would appreciate prayers for these efforts, and we pray for the evangelistic efforts elsewhere. May God be glorified in all of them!” Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “ With our Spring Gospel Meeting taking place right now, it has been very encouraging. The lessons have been handled well by Steven Lloyd. So far, we have had 10 visitors, and effort has been spent to get to know them and get their mailing addresses to send compassion cards. We have two more nights, so I am excited to see who else comes. We continue to have multiple other studies taking place, and we hope many other prospects will come to fruition. Many good works are taking place.” Howe church of Christ, Texas: Aaron Alsbrook (preacher) reports, “We are primed for a great spring and summer of evangelism. A few of our members are organizing a clothing drive for our community. This will naturally get our congregation some contacts that we have not been aware of in the past. We have several members in Bible studies with family members and people that have been in our congregation for some time. We look forward to the increase that God will provide. We are also starting our compassion card writing with our first group beginning May 4. Our coordinator for compassion cards has already involved many other members to make the work successful. We also capped off last week with a ‘Creation versus Evolution Seminar’ with Eric Lyons from Apologetics Press for our young people. It was edifying; hopefully, it has equipped our young people to defend the truth.” Fruitvale church of Christ, Texas: Carl McCann (elder) reports, “We are still working through the contacts made through our community give away. We have one ongoing new converts study and five ongoing studies. Our nursing home study has benefited us as a congregation because so many have helped. As we get closer to teaching salvation, we are also looking for ways to overcome concerns about baptism concerns since the nursing home does not have a place to do one.” Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “The young man I mentioned recently still has not made the decision, and I asked him to study again last week. He did not respond, but I will check with him again today. I talked to my barber about Acts 22:16, asking her this question: “If Paul was already saved before baptism, why was he told to wash away his sins?” I await her response to this important question in hopes that she will finally desire to study. I contacted a visitor with whom I had studied a few years ago. I sent him a WVBS video on falling from grace and asked if we could study it soon. He said yes, but no date is set. There is no date set for the second study with the pastor, but it is possible that we will get together this week. We are gearing up for our Senior Supper for the town graduates. We plan to give them a copy of Muscle and a Shovel for their gift.” Granbury Street church of Christ, Cleburne, Texas: Ryan Cowan (deacon) reports, “Last week, 22 members took part in writing over 250 cards! Some of these contacts were new movers; others were members of the community whom we had met in passing. A daughter of a prospect, Samira, texted us to thank us for our efforts. I have included a photo. Our next Friday night ‘In Person Visit’ night is scheduled for June 20.” Abingdon church of Christ, Virginia: Freddie Klein (evangelist) reports, “On Wednesday, we allocated our compassion card recipients; we will conduct visits over the next two weeks. On Sunday morning, Nathan continued his sermon series on Back to the Bible. In the evening, we witnessed the restoration of a dear sister in Christ, partly due to her inclusion on last month’s compassion card list. I reminded the congregation of our pressing need for contacts as we advance our evangelist approach.” West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “We are excited about having Keno Shrum on the calendar to come to West Side in September for follow-up training on the HTHSOE Congregational Evangelism model. Between now and then, we will be looking at areas in which we feel we could use additional encouragement or fine-tune our process. We are looking forward to continuing to grow in our efforts to get everyone involved in some area(s) of sharing the Gospel with their family, friends, and those in our local communities.” Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “The Lord blessed the Williamsburg church of Christ immensely this week. We continued on Wednesday night with viewing a Weekly HTH video. On Thursday evening, the Lord added a young woman to His church. She is the fourth baptism of 2025. On Saturday, we conducted our monthly Door-Knocking event, which resulted in 80 doors knocked, 12 bags of food handed out, three prayers, and six contacts. On Sunday, the greeters handed out new contact bookmarks, ‘Who’s your neighbor?’ to everyone. When the invitation was given, a young man who had been attending regularly with his family came forward to be restored. We pray for all those spreading the Gospel, we pray for the ability to identify opportunities, and we glorify God with all that we do.” NOTE: These reports are from Christians and congregations enrolled in the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism.
