Editor’s Note: I am often asked how to maintain momentum. My answer has been fine-tuned, as we have learned from you. The answer is not quick and catchy. “Success Breeds Success.” Talk without action leads to results that fade quickly. Once a congregation hears, sees, and becomes a part of congregational evangelism, most of the naysayers become yea-sayers. Christians want evangelism to work, but many have never seen it nor been a part of it. The Grundy Street church of Christ is off to a great start. Momentum is building. Please pray for them.

Success Breeds Success
Written by John Summers

It has been a big week at Grundy Street since our last update. Last week, we indicated that we had a Bible study scheduled. Bill Noles (one of our elders) and I met with a lady last Sunday evening. She had visited our congregation a few times, and before our Sunday evening service, she asked to join our congregation. Bill and I met with her in my office. I explained to her that she cannot “join” our church, because it is not “our church.” I then explained that the church belongs to the Lord, and He determines the admission criteria of who may be a member. I then asked her if we could study God’s word together and help her to understand what those criteria are. She said she would love to study with us, but she also said she had already been baptized. We thanked her for sharing that information, but we held firm that we still wanted to study with her, and she agreed.

We met on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings, and each day, we went through the Back to the Bible studies in order. After our Tuesday evening service (we had our Gospel Meeting last week), the lady told Bill’s wife that she had one more study with us and then she would then be a member—she still did not understand fully the reason for the Bible study. She was learning, but she thought these studies were just our process of initiation. Nevertheless, she turned out to be correct in her statement, because halfway through the third study, she began to realize that her “salvation experience” was not according to Scripture. She soon understood that her baptism was not scripturally valid. When we concluded the study, she asked to be baptized ‘now!’ We did that!

Saturday evening, as I was in my home office studying, I received a call from Ian Wright, one of our members. Ian was so emotional that I could barely understand him at first. He told me that he and his wife had been studying with his niece, and that she now wanted to be baptized. She wanted to do so the next morning during worship because she wanted her parents and grandparents to be there. She wanted Ian to baptize her, and he wanted my help with that. Frankly, I was ready to jump in the car and hurry to Tullahoma to do it right then, and I encouraged that, but she really wanted her family to be there and chose to wait until the next morning. During the invitation song, she came forward, and this time, the baptism occurred at the end of the worship service so the whole church witnessed it!

We are EXTREMELY excited that we have had two baptisms this week, and three now this year!  What a joy and a blessing, and to our loving almighty God be the glory! We have now officially started our SOE curriculum at Grundy Street. Yesterday morning, I preached the first of the three lessons from John 4, “Jesus: The Politically Incorrect Evangelist.” Our associate minister, Anderson Judd, will be preaching the second of these lessons next Sunday.

We are still in the VERY early stage of implementing the process with the SOE curriculum. We have unpacked and sorted all the materials. We are having our evangelism table built. We are still digesting the information on the SOE website. We have no Bible studies currently planned or underway this week. We do not have our accountability board put together yet. We do have a handful of prospects that we are beginning to engage. The elders are also still in the process of determining who to appoint in the various roles for the program, and as that begins to take shape, we will then also engage with the evening lessons series as well. We will soon be fully engaged. I am excited that even with such a limited application thus far, we already have our own evidence that this curriculum will work. Now we need to trust the process!

Congregational Reports

West Huntsville church of Christ, Alabama: Paul Owen (evangelist) reports, “This past week, we celebrated three baptisms! Ally, who is pictured, had been visiting for a few months, and a family was actively studying with her. We began a new study with a man in his early 20’s who has just graduated from college.”

Fayette church of Christ, Alabama: Josh Taylor (deacon) reports, “Jo Ann Robertson has been married to one of our members for many years. She has been battling cancer for many years. She did not get a good report recently, and that allowed an opportunity for our pulpit minister, Kaleb Hall, to visit with her this week. This morning, she called and said she was ready to be baptized into Christ. We are thankful for Jo Ann and her husband, Dennis. We request prayers for her as she battles with her difficult disease, but now she is one of the fold of God!”

Petersville church of Christ, Florence, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “We are getting ready for our homecoming next Sunday, and we passed out another round of invitation cards that members can distribute. We are still praying to study the Bible with two families; they are very promising. We had one respond to the invitation on Sunday who had fallen away during hard times but repented. The class responsible for sending cards last week sent 34.”

Central church of Christ, Saraland, Alabama: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “We had one baptism this week. Jeffrey Cornelson, who is 13-years-old, was baptized into Christ yesterday during Bible class. His father baptized him, which was a joy to watch. This brings our total to six baptisms since January with more on the horizon. Our yearly goal is eight. I think we are going to make it! God be praised!”

Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Josh Holloway (preacher) reports, “This week we had three Bible studies and set up three more. We are plugging away at the evangelism model. We used benevolence in a very different way. We used our prospect list to see who we could help. One of our prospects with whom we have been studying and who has been visiting had a family member go through a hard time. Her sister’s house burned down. As a congregation, we decided to help her financially. We also set up our first weekly team assignments in our card ministry. This week, we were able to send out 195 cards!”

Hartselle church of Christ, Alabama: Justin Smith (preacher) reports, “This week begins our Vacation Bible School; many visitors will be coming through our doors. In addition to all the usual kids’ activities, we will proclaim the Gospel each night with adult classes. We are praying diligently that those who visit will hear the word of God and be touched. Information is being collected for follow-up conversations in the coming weeks. Everything at the Hartselle church of Christ, including VBS, is going through the funnel of evangelism. To God be the glory!”

Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “We often wonder about the impact of the compassion cards, and this week we received a number of thank you letters from people who have received them. One in particular asked for his to be read to the congregation. He had included a confession of some struggles in his life, and he said that soon after his medical recovery, he would be at worship. He is among several who are on our list of very good contacts for studies. We also have VBS this week, which in years past has always been one of our best evangelism opportunities in reaching families. The youth group is excited as they are planning to go to the Coweta church next month and work with Keno Shrum in an effort in their community.”

Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We currently have one Bible study going. Compassion cards are being sent each week to prospects. We are inviting a local kids’ summer camp to our VBS in July. Hopefully, that will create some contacts for us.”

Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “This past week, we celebrated three baptisms! Our kids were at Green Valley Bible Camp, and while there, Riley and Kiley Bell decided to put Christ on in baptism. Back home, a lady named Tina wanted to secure her relationship with the Lord and requested to be baptized. While all three baptisms did not come as a direct result of the program, we see that we are creating a culture centered around faith and action. We are taking our walk with Christ seriously. We have several ongoing Bible studies, and our compassion card ministry is booming. On Sunday night, we started our VBS with 120+ kids in attendance. We are excited to work with the unchurched kids and their families.”

Windsor church of Christ, Colorado: Lucas Stephens (member) reports, “We had 81 people, including eight visitors. We had 80 members at the picnic with six visitors. One of our members has a Bible study going with one of our compassion card recipients. He has had two lessons and will be having the third lesson soon.”

Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “We are steadily working through several transition visits. It is always so interesting to hear how the compassion cards impact people’s lives in different ways. Receiving cards means the absolute world to some. One of our prospects recently expressed his deep appreciation for the outpouring of love we showed him after he had lost his job. He said all the cards made him feel more hopeful and blessed, which then gave him the confidence to land a new job! The outreach cards greatly increase the receptivity of the visits, making them a real joy to do, but more importantly, it opens the door for Bible studies! Our current 2025 Year-to-Date Accountability Board numbers are as follows: 182 Contacts received; 42 Visitors; 125 Neighbors (prospects with whom we have studied and shown love); 44 Bible studies (total completed); 1,445 Compassion Cards sent; and 12 Baptisms.”

Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “This week we had our monthly training meeting. We had a time of fellowship, and then I shared some information that I hoped would encourage and motivate the church. I also prepared a summary of our efforts for the first half of the year. We have had ten responses so far this year—seven baptisms and three restorations. We have also had several new members added to the church and have several more in the works. I shared earlier how I believe the evangelism model of HTHSOE is helping us reach members of the church who move to our area. First, I think it makes us more focused on greeting and welcoming everyone.  Second, visitors see our interest in them through the cards. Third, they see our activity. Our congregation is definitely growing again. I also shared a list of people we have as prospects and talked about the need to pray for these prospects as people study with them. We also talked about VBS and how we want to use it to attract new people from the community. Lastly, I shared with those who attended a preview of a sheet that I am going to share on Sunday with the rest of the congregation. This is a simple two-part survey. The first part asks people to list their current activities. The second part asks them to engage or re-engage with a work that is ongoing. This is an opportunity for people to evaluate their actions and hopefully make a change or try something new. Hopefully, as they see the fruit, more will want to get involved. We will use this tool to update our workers’ list. This week we had no new studies, but we had ongoing studies with new converts. We sent out ten cards and had five visitors at worship.”

Forrest Park church of Christ, Valdosta, Georgia: Wes Hazel (preacher) reports, “We had a baptism recently connected to the previous baptism of his wife about a year ago. When his wife began attending, he opposed it. He would not even say he believed God existed. God’s Word and the faith of his people changed his heart. We also baptized a college student last week. He was very faithful in the Baptist church until we had a Bible study. To God be the Glory!”

Edgewood church of Christ, Columbus, Georgia: Mitchell Deering (deacon) reports, “Here is a list of our current numbers: New Visitors (month-to-date): 17; New Prospects: 6; Bible Studies Conducted: 6 (from the visitor class); Compassion Cards Sent: 102; Baptisms: 1. Our first baptism took place this Sunday – praise God! The visitor class continues to be an effective tool for initiating Bible studies and identifying prospects. Congregational involvement is growing, with strong participation in the Compassion Card ministry; 92 cards will be mailed this week. We are adding three more prospects for next week’s cards.”

Lafayette church of Christ, Georgia: Jesse Teague (deacon) reports, “We knocked doors last Saturday. We have 31 souls on our list to visit. Making visits is a good way to meet people who need the Gospel! Later that day we had fellowship at a member’s home. Around 30 members and several visitors joined to share a meal and enjoy time together. It was a good chance to show some of the visitors the love enjoyed by the saints at Lafayette. Of course, we had a devotion time. One of our good elders led our minds to think about things we ‘almost did,’ and we made sure we were not ‘almost persuaded’ to be a Christian! The following Sunday, we signed compassion cards; about 14 saints sent cards to eight souls. We must not grow weary of well-doing!”

Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “The number of local visitors to services has increased greatly in the past few weeks. This increase has been from our evangelistic efforts. Bible studies with all of them will happen soon.”

Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Larkin Cook (member) reports, “We attended the Sunabella of Towne Lake Assistant Living devotional on Sunday. Six non-Christians attended. The Prison Ministry Group is working with several RYDCs to obtain Bible studies. Congregations close to the RYDCs are ready to lend a supporting hand and to help conduct Bible studies for them. The Compassion Card Group sent 24 compassion cards this week.  WCOC had ten non-Christian visitors this Sunday morning.  We also had four Bibles studies last week.”

Eatonton church of Christ, Georgia: Roderick Coney (minister) reports, “We sent out compassion cards to two prospects. Brother Mills studied Lesson 1 of Back to the Bible with one of our prospects. We are teaching Growing in Christto the members of the congregation.”

Honolulu church of Christ, Hawaii: Tagiilima Esene (preacher) reports, “We continue to have studies with three souls at this time. Our family camp is weeks away, and we are excited for this event to build up our congregation. We are still mourning the loss of our beloved elder, Ralph, and his lovely wife, Lala. We are adjusting and working on covering the work that Ralph and Lala did. The highlight of this week is seeing two more souls added to the church. Gerally and her daughter, Frencesca, were both baptized after listening to a sermon on the topic of baptism on Sunday.”

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (elder) reports, “We are in Grove City, Ohio, working with American Mission Campaign. Back home, we mailed 115 compassion cards as we approach 3,000 for the year. We are constantly getting cards of appreciation, and we are excited about encouraging so many. We conducted three Bible studies and made some follow-up visits. We delivered four New Movers’ baskets. One of our workers was a very young Christian who went out visiting for the first time and had a good experience. On Sunday, we packed New Movers’ baskets and bundled invitation cards.”

Highland Village church of Christ, Bloomington, Indiana: Mark Stauffer (elder) reports, “Highland Village has had six visitors so far in June. We have sent 99 cards and have four prospects. We have been training the congregation on the urgency of reaching the lost by reviewing the 10 levels of evangelism. Beginning in July, we will reinforce that training with a series of short articles in our weekly church bulletin. We are also emphasizing the urgency of reaching the lost and the importance of working together in unity to accomplish the work of the church. Participation in card signing has increased.”

LaGrange church of Christ, Indiana: Wayne Poe (elder) reports, “We had a really good VBS; about 15 different families come through the doors. We will be sending cards and making an outreach to these families. One study is with a very good prospect from our VBS. Some of the families were former members, so we were hoping to gain those families back and get them into Bible studies.”

Judah church of Christ, Indiana: Joe Moon (preacher) reports, “We sent cards this week, although I am unsure of how many. Ten of our members went visiting in groups this week; they visited five prospects. Several acted interested in visiting for worship. We also offered studies to several others, but they were not interested at this time. Overall, it was a good week for us.”

Beloit church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dustin Dougherty (regional trainer) reports, “There is a lot of work done behind the scenes. Evangelism is a culture that must be developed. We never finish; we are always studying and training. We ask for prayers as we reach out to the lost.”

Poole church of Christ, Kentucky: Andrew Wynne (preacher) reports, “We currently have one study ongoing. This past Friday, we completed our second study with a lady about the inspiration of the Bible. We are nearing the end of our Back to the Bible study as a congregation, and it has been a great study as a group. Our VBS is this Saturday (June 28). We are looking forward to a great time together to examine the parables Jesus taught in Luke 15. We request prayers for our evangelism efforts.”

Madisonville church of Christ, Kentucky: Russell Kline (preacher) reports, “We had 22 visitors yesterday. We mailed 15 compassion cards. We distributed several assignments to visit previously contacted visitors. We have two people enrolled in Bible correspondence courses. There were no baptisms or restorations. We are starting our VBS this evening. We are hoping to make some new contacts.”

Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (preacher) reports, “After postponing a study a couple of times early in the week, we rejoiced that, upon completion of Book 3 of Back to the Bible, Rebecca Boyer was baptized Friday morning. During all the studies, she had been soaking up everything, and when we got to the plan of salvation, she was ready. In fact, when she was asked when she wanted to be baptized, her answer was “better sooner than later,” so we immediately headed for the baptistry. We are so proud of her and look forward to watching her grow as her new convert mentor helps her. On Saturday, we resumed our work at the local farmers’ market, which resulted in 25 souls seeking Bible studies through correspondence courses. We are thrilled and will be following up on these this week. As the song says, ‘There are souls to rescue,’ and we are grateful to be just a small part in seeking to help them. To God be the glory!”

Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: Patrick Adkins (deacon) reports, “We had our first sermon on Lesson 2, and we had training on benevolence for our evening sermon. We have three Bible studies, and we sent 103 cards in June. We will start preparing for our new movers by meeting on Wednesday. We have had eight baptisms in 2025 with the goal of 12!”

Chalmette church of Christ, Louisiana: Scott Russell (member) reports, “Chalmette has been busy with VBS this week. So far we have picked up 5 new contacts through door knocking. Not sure where these will lead yet, but hopefully some of these new skills we are learning will help us reach someone with the Gospel.”

La Plata church of Christ, Maryland (remote): Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “We sent out two compassion cards with multiple signatures. We delivered a gift basket to a prospect who is recovering from cancer treatments. My son and I completed Lesson 1 of Back to the Bible with a coworker of my granddaughter. We pray that we can complete Lesson 2 this week. Our advanced teacher’s training class is training on Bible study closing techniques this week. Our ‘Growing in Christ’ class will be training on ‘Prayer’ this week. Our online ‘video of the week’ class will be completing the second training session on Does It Matter? We appreciate prayers as we strive to share the Gospel here in La Plata, Maryland.”

Beltway church of Christ, Camp Springs, Maryland: LeAndre Johnson (preacher) reports, “This weekend, we had our first Gospel Meeting in years. It was Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and it was well attended. The event was just the planting of the seed. We will see how we cultivate.”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “This past week, we introduced the accountability board and preached the first sermon on schedule. (I called it ‘Christ: Are You Sowing the Seed’). I will likely have to reorder the preaching schedule a bit to fit our monthly event schedule. We handed out the Bookmarks and the Evangelism Model training cards. We had three Bible studies this past week and set up three more for this week. One study was supposed to end this past week, but they decided not to be baptized, so I scheduled another Bible study for this week. I wanted to keep their focus on baptism, so I made my own study book using the same format as Bobby Bates, going through all the conversions in the book of Acts (Lesson 4), and I will make a Lesson 5 on the Roman Road to Salvation. I will use these new booklets for those who need a bit more to decide on being baptized. I also made a new pamphlet called ‘Thanks for the Meal,’ with all the church’s information on it. I designed it to be left on the table after people eat out at a restaurant. We had two visitors this Sunday. We gave them the visitor welcome packets and got their information so we could send them cards. We are setting up the Evangelism Table this week. I plan on putting lots of good stuff on the table, like the new pamphlet that I made.”

Iuka church of Christ, Mississippi: Sam Glover (preacher) reports, “We had several visitors yesterday, with follow-ups being planned. One visitor who had stopped coming has come back. Five sets of cards are being prepped to send out. I have not heard how the Bible study that was being done is going recently, so I will follow up and find out more.”

New Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Shane Belanger (member) reports, “The church continued in the program with an in-depth study on John 4. The focus is on the interaction between Jesus and the woman at the well in Samaria. In this text, Jesus provides us with the skills of reaching the lost. This past Sunday, during Bible class, we were able to review everything we have learned up to this point. The sermon was based on how Jesus reacted to the woman’s lost condition. We look forward to more studies and training in the coming week. I am including pictures that show our organization with the evangelistic table and the room designated for our compassion cards and additional material.”

East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote):  Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “We had two visitors during worship service this week. One stated she will definitely be back this coming Sunday. We watched the HTHSOE YouTube video, ‘New Converts: Daily Devotionals’; we had some printed and given to members. We will print more as we see it as a great resource, even for those of us who have been in the body of Christ for some time. Our metrics thus far in June include three baptisms, 39 compassion cards, 17 prospects, two Bible studies, and two new converts. We appreciate all prayers.”

Mountain Island church of Christ, North Carolina: Clyde Gilbert (elder) reports, “We start our VBS tonight and are praying for contacts. Two of our Bible studies were postponed this week because folks were traveling. Hopefully, another study will continue this week, and we have one new study started this past week.”

East Sparta church of Christ, Magnolia, Ohio (remote): Andrew Masterson (preacher) reports, “We have had several new visitors and returning visitors. We have added several to our prospect list over the past few weeks. We mailed 58 compassion cards over the past two weeks, and more are being prepared for the beginning of this week.”

New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) reports, “We had our annual ‘Friends & Family Day’ Sunday. A welcome packet was given to each one. Several new contacts have been established from this effort. Cards will be sent to all of our visitors, and follow-up visits will be made. One new Bible study has begun. Book 1 of Back to the Bible was completed. The gentleman with whom we are studying also attended the Friends and Family Day and stayed for the potluck meal (all of our visitors that day stayed and ate). A young couple from our community attended again this past Sunday night (they attended a couple of weeks ago as well). A follow-up visit will be made with them this week.”

Owasso church of Christ, Oklahoma: David Combs (elder) reports, “Our morning class continued our study of Back to the Bible, Book 3. This is a great way to go through those booklets. We use the larger ones and take notes incorporating the Evangelism Visualized and the Evangelism Simplified books for references. The class time allows us time to ask and answer multiple questions and to achieve a better understanding of the material and Scriptures. Dan Schnell, our pulpit minister, delivered a great lesson titled ‘A Mixed Multitude in a Weary Land.’ Tim Bowman, our Spark Plug, gave us an update on his past week at Green Valley Bible Camp and the addition of several new souls added to the Kingdom, one of which was our very own Tyler Williams. Tim also gave a brief update on evangelism efforts and led us in prayer for the people on our bookmark cards. On Sunday evening, we continued our lessons with training cards. This week was Lesson 10, ‘Mentoring New Christians.’ Following, Services Group 4 met with 15 card writers to write 74 cards to be mailed this week.  Our June metrics include four visitors, 15 prospects, 8 visits, 326 cards sent, seven Bible studies, five baptisms, and 18 baptism goals.”

Coweta church of Christ, Oklahoma: Keno Shrum (regional trainer) reports, “Houston was gone the past three weeks to his Annual Training with his Army National Guard unit. While there, he began Gospel conversations with many of the men in his unit. Of those he talked to, five showed great interest in the conversations. Two of them were Catholic. One was of another denomination and two of them have no religious affiliation. All live within 20-30 miles of Coweta. Houston invited them all to visit the Coweta congregation, and all accepted his invitation. Three said they would be there this coming Sunday. If they do indeed attend, Houston will take them to lunch. Because he already knows them quite well, he will skip the introduction questions taught in HTHSOE and move straight to the transition questions in hopes of gaining Bible studies. Gospel conversations can not only be a great way of moving toward a study with friends; they can also make new contacts. Whether you talk about the Gospel with a person you know or a complete stranger, never underestimate the power of Gospel Conversations!”

Cheyenne church of Christ, Oklahoma (remote): Nathan Brewer (member) reports, “We went through the second half of Lesson 2 of Back to the Bible. I am planning to preach through Lesson 3 the next two Sunday mornings as we train the congregation to evangelize.”

Union church of Christ, South Carolina (remote): Kent (elder) reports, “We had a good study in Book 1 of BTTB with one of the visitors after he received cards. We are working on more group training with visitors and getting contact information. Teacher training last week was about working on communication with each other, so no studies will go undone.”

Covington church of Christ, Tennessee: Wayne Dalrymple (elder) reports, “We have had several visitors to our services recently. We have written cards to them inviting them to come back. A couple stated they want to learn more about the church. We are pursuing Bible studies with them. We had our VBS a few weeks ago. One visitor had a poor impression of the church because of previous interactions he has had. When I called him on Sunday, he said he felt very welcome. We definitely changed his perception. He is open to visiting our services. The door is cracked with him. We need to stick our foot in so it does not close back. I have a study scheduled this Thursday with my wife’s aunt, who is a wayward member.”

Blackman church of Christ, Murfreesboro, Tennessee: Brian McCord reports, “We have sent 20-30 cards in the past week and made one visit to a new mover. We will have a training session this week to get others trained to make visits. We are starting an outreach program to draw local kids into our county-wide Bible bowl team. We have had a couple and their adult son visiting with us. He is a student of the program (Jeremiah’s Promise) that we allow to use our building. We took them out for lunch yesterday, and they promised to join us permanently.”

Arlington church of Christ, Tennessee: Brandon Tibbits (preacher) reports, “We are actively prospecting 12 people. We gained some contacts from our VBS, and we will start prospecting one of them actively. One prospect is ready to transition; we hope to schedule a Bible study very soon. We are seeing results from our work. We had four visitors for morning service this morning, and we are sending out cards every day. We are planting and watering, and we that know God will give the increase!”

Stewarts Creek church of Christ, Smyrna, Tennessee: Jon McCord (member) reports, “Last night’s training class was about Transition/The Visit. The next evening training class will be on Benevolence. We have sent 47 compassion cards since we started.”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “When Gary Massey extended the invitation, an individual came forward. We had not previously encountered him. He informed Gary that he had been absent from church for an extended period and desired to resume his attendance. During the conversation, Gary discerned the need for further study and held a prayer for the individual. He subsequently announced to the congregation that he would study with him. Following the worship service, as the members interacted with the individual and his spouse, it was discovered that she expressed a preference for a church that does not employ a band. Consequently, she chose our congregation. This revelation provides insight into their previous church experiences and equips Gary with the necessary information to initiate a Bible study with them.”

Ocoee Street church of Christ, Copper Hill, Tennessee: R.E. Vann (elder) reports, “We had eight visitors this week, including a repeat family of four who recently moved to our area to care for the wife’s father. A visit made by one of our members was encouraging as they were overwhelmed by the number of compassion cards they had received during recent illnesses in their family. They indicated that they might visit us in the future! We sent 53 compassion cards to seven prospects. Ocoee Street supported a single parent of five by sponsoring four of her children for two weeks of Bible camp. She was tearful from all the love received and has agreed to a Bible study. To God be the glory.”

McEwen church of Christ, Tennessee: John Jones (preacher) reports, “We are praying that the mission campaign is a great success. We have the largest number of contacts ever after our VBS. We have started sending cards to each of our VBS visitors and are waiting for them to receive the full number of cards before visiting them. We are praying that there is fruit for our labor!”

Soddy church of Christ, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher), “We are overjoyed with the great number of contacts we met last week during Vacation Bible School! We had four families that attended each night (along with ten other children brought by members), and three of those four families attended Bible study and worship with us yesterday! It is so encouraging to see the effort and evangelistic teamwork of the congregation. We were able to build a relationship with each family as we spent time getting to know their families and how we could serve them. We are praying that each family will continue to come and learn from God’s Word and that Bible studies will be set up in the near future. Yesterday, I began to preach the Back to the Bible series and had a number of visitors with us due to the evangelistic effort of VBS. We also studied Book 2 with a dear prospect and will study the third book later this week. We request prayers for this precious soul. Continued prayers are being lifted on behalf of those working this week with the AMC effort in Grove City, Ohio!”

Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (evangelist) reports, “We are continuing studies with people and are getting ready for the next round of training this week.”

Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “We gave gifts to the two new visitors on Sunday and gathered contact information. We had a total of six returning visitors.  We have 19 prospects and three Bible studies.”

Birdwell Chapel church of Christ, Cottontown, Tennessee: Kerry England (elder) reports, “This week, visitors returned after receiving cards. We are developing relationships with these individuals as we pray they will soon agree to Bible studies. We have a study that was on hold this week because of the family’s vacation. Compassion Card Team 3 mailed cards to five people this week. We passed out 18 new mover cards last night. Those visits should be made in the next couple of weeks.”

Rivergate church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “We had four visitors on Wednesday and five on Sunday morning. We had a baptism on Sunday morning. The lady is a coworker of one of our deacons, Rick Applegate. She went through the process. He had invited her to visit. She came and then got compassion cards. Rick and his wife started a Bible study with her.”

White Oak church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee (remote): John McGiffin (preacher) reports, “This week was labor-intensive. We managed a booth at the 70th anniversary of Red Bank. Several people tested their Bible knowledge and won Bibles. We gave out several different Bibles, including the ‘AP Defending the Faith NKJV Bible.’ One person signed up for a Bible correspondence course and took videos on why there are so many churches. Another asked me to meet with her and teach her HOW to read the Bible. I just so happen to have some little booklets to start with. A third person is related to a former member who just died. This relative recognized me from preaching at the funeral and was interested in getting more information about the White Oak church of Christ. We passed out information on our upcoming Bible Lands Museum Exhibit. Even the denominational folks wanted to come see this on August 1-4. Two people signed up for us to send WVBS links of videos on evidence. In addition, we have set up a dinner date with a fallen member of the church. Boy, am I tired!”

Midtown church of Christ, Victoria, Texas: Cody McCoy (preacher) reports, “We had one baptism recently. One family has invited me to family gatherings to get to know their adult children (one son-in-law is a Catholic, and another and his wife are wayward; the parents have been working on it). They have already been successful with one son and daughter-in-law being restored in the past few months. Another family has been sending me sermon links, and their non-Christian daughter has asked them to come down and take her to church. Another has Christian adult children living at home; the father has been working with them, and they have visited lately. My children went to camp with one of the sons years ago, so I used that to encourage him to come around more. He needs to be restored.”

Southwest church of Christ, Austin, Texas: Bryce Mayfield (evangelist) reports, “Camp Hensel was a great week for our kids. We celebrated four baptisms we had while there. May God be glorified in those! We are studying with two new converts. Those studies have been great and encouraging for all involved. We continue to develop relationships with these men as they grow in the Lord. We also continue to have many visitors. This congregation is working hard to build relationships with them so that we can earn Bibles studies. Cards are being sent, visits are being made, and many prayers have been made on behalf of these efforts. We appreciate all prayers, advice, and support. May God continue to bless His work.”

Granbury Street church of Christ, Cleburne, Texas: Ryan Cowan (deacon) reports, “On Friday night, about ten members gathered for a meal. We reviewed our door-to-door skills, discussed our contacts, and broke into four groups to make some visits. Justin and Leah Hopkins were able to establish a new contact while attempting to visit a past prospect. Overall, Friday was a nice time of fellowship together, and it felt great to dedicate an evening to the Lord’s work.”

Roanoke church of Christ, Texas: Caleb Rutherford (preacher) reports, “Jason Edwards (elder) and I are in Ohio for AMC. We did some door knocking Sunday afternoon, and will continue to door knock all week long. We are paired up with a couple of great young ladies from North Carolina. We are looking forward to the week and learning all that we can as we anticipate, Lord-willing, our opportunity to host in 2026. Several of our young people are out of town for the Foundations Bible camp at MSOP. Summer is a busy, busy time for us. However, through it all, our card-writing groups continue to write cards. Those in Bible studies continue to study. Visits are still being made. Once I get back, I plan to meet with several of our teams to figure out what is needed and where we can improve.”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “I was told that there may be a baptism Sunday by someone who has been attending the Spanish class. We request prayers for her. A mission trip to Mexico is being planned for the last week of July and the first of August. Several from the congregation will go to teach the Gospel and encourage the church there. Wade Webster, our evangelist, and Jim Avolos, one of our elders, will be leading this effort. We continue to have visitors and are trying to reach out to them.”

Eisenhower church of Christ, Odessa, Texas: Allen Weakland (elder) reports, “Michelle has continued her study and has started asking questions about obeying the Gospel. She stated that she feels comfortable with what she needs to do and asked if Travis would be the one to baptize her. On another note, Justin visited this past Sunday and accepted our invitation to eat after services. Justin is from Arizona but came to Odessa for work. He talked about his family and his upbringing and expressed interest in attending worship services in the future. As we were leaving the restaurant, he said he noticed that the members seemed very friendly and deeply connected with one another. I ask for prayers for these two as they act upon the evidence of God’s truth, which will result in new members of the family of God.”

Howe church of Christ, Texas: Aaron Alsbrook (preacher) reports, “It is our prayer that the AMC in Ohio goes well, and many souls are introduced to the truth, but more so saved. Our VBS week concluded last week, and funneling contacts made from VBS was a success. One of our members was very diligent, inviting her neighbors and friends to our VBS, and we made new contacts. One person who visited with her children during our VBS also attended worship with us Sunday night. We will be sending all compassion cards and prospecting in the weeks to come. If the Lord wills, we will have Bible studies and new converts to come.”

Fruitvale church of Christ, Texas: Carl McCann (elder) reports, “Our new converts study is going well, and there were five visitors at worship yesterday.”

Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “We have had three new visitors and two returning visitors to our VBS this week, so contacts are being made. We will pray for the Lord’s increase for good soil among their families. We had our monthly singing at the nursing home on Sunday afternoon with the other body of Christ in town, showing great unity toward the residents and staff.”

Abingdon church of Christ, Virginia: Freddie Klein (evangelist) reports, “This week we made a few visits. Among the folks we visited was a couple who visited out of the blue at our midweek service. We gave them a visitor basket and had a good conversation with them. They were at the very next service. We now have regular visitors.”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “We had a rewarding door-knocking campaign on Saturday. This is a monthly event. We knocked on 65 doors, handed out 13 food bags, made six contacts, and had three doorstep prayers, seven conversations, and one prayer request. Today, three local families who are looking for a congregation visited us. Each received a first-time welcome bag. We pray for all those seeking the lost to spread the Gospel. May God be glorified from this work.”

Westside church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “We are preparing for another community outreach event. On Friday night, our members will assemble 144 backpacks loaded with school supplies, which will be handed out Saturday morning to area students and their families. We have coordinated with our local schools to advertise this FREE event, and we have included information for those who attended our Community Support Day. Any leftover backpacks will be taken to these schools and given to those in need. During the Friday night preparation time, we will offer specific prayers. This event will provide additional opportunities for Bible studies.”
