Featured Congregation: Oklahoma Panhandle State University Campus

Student Opportunity – Free Housing
Written by Raoul Ferris

My family and I will be starting a new work in Goodwell, Oklahoma, as the director of the Bible Chair, serving the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Campus.   One of the great opportunities we would like to share with others is that the Student Center has two dormitory rooms available as of August 2026.  We currently do not have any students for this coming year who have filled out applications for this free housing, so we would like to open up the opportunity to two young men who are seeking to grow in evangelism or a newly married couple who would like to grow this coming 2026/27 school year in evangelism.  As we evangelize, this also opens the door to potentially establishing the Lord’s church in Goodwell, Oklahoma, once again.  Currently, the only presence the church has is the Bible Chair in Goodwell.  As the Lord adds to the Kingdom, we hope to have the congregation meeting again in here, and it would be beneficial to have the interns help in this.

What would this look like?  Two dorm rooms share a jack-and-jill bathroom, a common area, kitchen, and laundry are available.  Utilities would be included, and the young men would need to be able to preach for smaller congregations in the area on the weekends.  These young men, or one young couple, would need to be self-supporting, aside from income from preaching.  There is also an opportunity for them to take some classes at the college at their own expense.

This is a one-year opportunity at this point, but if someone is also seeking an education, we might consider something longer.  If you are interested or know of someone who may benefit from this opportunity in the brotherhood, please feel free to share this information or email Raoul at raoul.ferris@swsbs.edu.  A doctrinal questionnaire and references would be required, and the individuals would have to be active members in a sound church of Christ.

My family and I are excited about the opportunities to reach out to the student body and town of Goodwell with the good news of Jesus Christ.  This harvest field is plentiful, and we know great things will happen soon. We just need the workers. Please call: 210-253-0901.

Congregational Reports

Glencoe church of Christ, Alabama: Keith Ritchie (evangelist) reports, “The Glencoe congregation just completed a Gospel Meeting with BJ Clarke. We are about to begin a two-month-long summer series, and VBS is coming up in June as well. We have possibilities for invites and contacts that continue to be ever-present. The next big work is the mission trip to Jamaica. Several from Glencoe are going on this mission. We appreciate all prayers for the success of the mission trip and the many works underway at Glencoe. To God be the glory!”

Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “Yesterday, the two young adult men who have been high on our list for setting up studies brought more people with them, including a fiancée and the parents of one of the gentlemen. We are continuing to be prayerful with this, as we have built friendships with them in order to see an open door.”

Highway church of Christ, Benton, Arkansas: James Hutchings (member) reports, “We have had several visitors and four baptisms this year. We are sending cards to five prospects. We are finding new workers within the church!”

Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “This past Sunday morning, we continued our evangelism refresher series by focusing on Timothy and his journey in the Gospel. We examined how Timothy inherited a sincere faith from his mother and grandmother, how his character and reputation led Paul to choose him for ministry, how he was strengthened through Paul’s mentorship, how he learned courage in difficult circumstances, and how he was ultimately entrusted with carrying the Gospel forward. Timothy’s story is both encouraging and relatable. While someone like Paul can sometimes feel far beyond what we imagine ourselves becoming, Timothy reminds us that faithful Christians grow step by step through godly influence, service, and perseverance. His life challenges us to consider both the influence others within the church have had on us and the influence we are having on those outside the church. Several Bible studies are continuing, and we believe we may be nearing a baptism. One challenge involves an elderly woman with physical limitations, so we are exploring alternative arrangements, including using a local pool equipped with a handicap-accessible lift to help her safely in and out of the water. Both the lesson on Timothy and these efforts surrounding baptism serve as important reminders that we must do what we can to remove barriers that hinder the spreading of the Gospel and the transformation of lives—whether those barriers are spiritual, practical, or physical.”

Harrisonburg church of Christ, Arkansas: Mark Weston (elder) reports, “This week was a relatively quiet week. We held a Memorial Service at our church building for the husband of a dear sister. He was not a member and had taken his own life. Brock did an outstanding job handling that very difficult situation, and the family was pleased. Our ladies did an outstanding job as well, feeding the family and taking care of those needs. We had no visitors at services this week and no recorded Bible studies. We do have a few prospects from those who continue to come and ask questions and who continue to dive into God’s Word for answers. It keeps us encouraged just to have them continually in our midst. They are just not ready right now to study formally; however, they come regularly, listen to the Bible classes and sermons, and soak it in. God’s timing is not our timing. We know that He is preparing them to receive the truth! Brock was away on Sunday preaching at the Branson Lectureships. I know he did a fantastic job. In his absence, I was privileged to teach his Sunday morning class and give both lessons from the pulpit. I always enjoy filling in when I can. We are also a part of a 4th Sunday Fellowship Group with about nine other area churches. We have been participating in this for about three years now, and it is such a blessing to meet with all of them each month to sing, study the Bible, and build new relationships through Christ. That was this afternoon as well, so my Sunday was quite full! That Fellowship Group puts on the NEA Bible Lectureship each year; that will be June 4-6 at the 7th Street church of Christ in West Memphis, Arkansas. One of our elders, Caleb Henry, another elder’s wife, Nechia Whittingham, and I will all be speaking this year in the Lectureship. We are certainly looking forward to that. We made it back this afternoon just in time for our compassion card team to write cards. We signed 40 cards today and will send them out this week! That continues to be a blessing. Tunene and I gathered the remaining items for our new movers’ baskets; we hope to deliver them this week. We look forward to inviting new prospects to come to services. We did not get our invitation cards ordered this week or get our website operational, but both of those items are in the works. It seemed like there were just not enough hours in this week! It is certainly good to be busy for the Lord!”

Petersville church of Christ, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “Petersville continues to send compassion cards each week. At the end of the school year, several members undertook efforts to reach out and encourage the teachers at two local schools. One group provided breakfast for all the teachers at the elementary school, and another group took lunch to the county school. Keeping the church of Christ active in the community is our mission.”

Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Josh Halloway (preacher) reports, “There is great joy at Cedar Grove this week as we continue seeing God bless our evangelism efforts in several different areas. We are thankful that the work of cards, visits, invitations, and Bible studies continues to open doors and create opportunities to teach people the Gospel. This week, we especially rejoice that Mrs. Sandra Lynn obeyed the Gospel and was baptized into Christ for the remission of her sins. Tuesday, during her Bible study, she stopped and said, ‘I was taught wrong. I was misled. I need to be baptized.’ Like the Ethiopian eunuch, she did not delay but immediately acted upon what she had learned from God’s Word. Mrs. Sandra has also been overwhelmed by the love shown by this congregation. As she received her compassion cards, she excitedly said she had ‘never seen so much love.’ She is a wonderful lady who has been through many trials in her life. Following her baptism, with a big smile on her face, she said, ‘I sure do love me some Jesus!’ I said, ‘Me too, Mrs. Sandy, me too.’ She has only been studying for a few weeks. The process started because she is a neighbor of one of our members who was going through a hard time. This is a wonderful reminder that evangelism works. One invitation leads to another. One contact becomes a Bible study. One study becomes obedience. God continues to give the increase.”

Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We have one Bible study going on, and another is beginning this week, Lord willing. We have a visit set up with a frequent visitor, and we hope to discuss salvation with her. Cards continue to be sent out, and contacts are being made regularly.”

Northside church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Larry Keener (elder) reports, “Last week, Northside church started our evangelism training class on Wednesday night. Evan Welch is the teacher. Several men and women attended. On Sunday, Evan preached with the central idea that we are the light of the world and the Gospel is given to us so we can all shine as we go about our lives each day. Contacts are beginning to come in, and cards are being written. Our teams are forming, and emails are being sent to each group as we continue preparing our members to perform in their roles. We appreciate all prayers for our ministry.”

Bergman church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Vince Stewart (preacher) reports, “This last week, we sent ten compassion cards to both of our new prospects: Travis Rogers, who’s going through a rough time in his life, and Sherry Shatwell, who has cancer. So we sent out 20 cards altogether. In the Sunday morning adult class, we discussed in more detail the three principles of soul-winning. We did the entire second video on the thumb drive. Our first prospect, Patricia Fitch, did not want a visit, but she said she plans to come to church on Sunday.”

Concord Street church of Christ, Orlando, Florida: Billy Dickson (evangelist) reports, “Yesterday we wrote 50 compassion cards for five contacts in less than 20 minutes right after our morning worship service. Also, we currently have six Bible studies going on. We are really encouraged by the momentum and opportunities opening up.”

Avalon church of Christ, Florida: Preston Silcox (elder) reports, “Avalon has had a great two weeks. Our attendance has been in the 90s with more than 20 visitors on both days. We had three Bible studies, one person placed membership, and yesterday we had two baptisms. We remain encouraged and energized.”

Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “Our Graduation Banquet gave us the opportunity to make contacts, but it also resulted in a few more volunteers! While everyone was milling around the halls and setting up the graduation banquet, one of our coordinators took the opportunity to recruit several volunteers to help write compassion cards! By doing so, he wound up introducing a few more members to the ministry! That was some good forward thinking! Our total 2026 Accountability Board numbers are: 135 Contacts Received; 98 Neighbors (Prospects); 538 Compassion Cards sent; 17 Bible studies; one Restoration, and six Baptisms.”

Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Tom Neth (deacon) reports, “This week we focused on making sure our summer activities intentionally include elements of outreach and relationship building. One significant change we made was restructuring our VBS into a month-long Wednesday-night effort rather than concentrating everything in a single week. We also added a weekly meal at the beginning of the evening to make the program more family-friendly and create additional opportunities for fellowship and connection. We believe this approach will help families who may otherwise miss an entire event due to vacations, but it also provides more consistent opportunities for our children to invite friends throughout the summer. In addition, we are distributing a full schedule of summer activities at each event to help cross-promote upcoming opportunities and continue building relationships with visitors and guests. Alongside these summer efforts, we continue working on the other elements of the program through writing compassion cards, making visits, and actively asking for Bible studies. Year to date, we have had ten baptisms and currently have three active Bible studies. We have also added a New Convert’s class as a regular Sunday morning class to help encourage and strengthen those who are new in the faith. We are thankful for the continued opportunities God is providing and appreciate the prayers and encouragement from so many.”

Milestone church of Christ, Cantonment, Florida: Randy Brantley (elder) reports, “We had six visitors yesterday. Ray presented a lesson on mentoring new converts last night; members seemed very interested in getting that part of the ministry started. We have three Bible studies ongoing. This week, we will be doing traditional visits.”

Warner Robins church of Christ, Georgia: Damien Walker (evangelist) reports, “We have one hot prospect right now who has been visiting every service since a couple of Sundays ago. Our visitor count has far exceeded our yearly goal, but in other areas, we are still working toward improvement. Our transition team training will be finished in a few weeks, and we hope it will help us turn more of our prospects into actual Bible studies.”

Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “We baptized Alden yesterday. Alden has faced many difficulties in her life. While some might have become hardened through those trials, Alden has kept a tender heart. I thank God for her tender heart, and I look forward to watching her grow in the faith. The HTHSOE Student Program continues to be helpful. A few students are approaching completion of the Basic Level. It is encouraging to meet brethren who have a desire to strengthen their efforts in reaching the lost.”

Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “Woodstock church of Christ (WCOC) and the Cherokee County and Sunabella Assistant Living Facilities devotional had approximately 12 non-Christians at the devotional on Sunday. The Compassion Group sent out six cards this week. WCOC had 17 Bible studies last week.”

Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “We had another good Sunday. Our numbers for May have been over ten each Sunday, so we have made progress, from five to ten; sometimes we have had 12. Our next goal is to maintain 15. I do believe that it is all because of the school. We have sent another 21 cards this week, with one visit made. We had two help with benevolence and added another prospect to our list, bringing the total to five prospects. Things are looking better for us at Gray! To God be the glory.”

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “The Evangelism Refresh with Keno was needed. It certainly gave us a boost. We realize our mentor program needs help. We are teaming with the elders to take what we are doing and make it better. We had five studies this past week. We have a new one scheduled for next week with a lady we sent cards to. She has visited several times. One of our teenagers will join the study. We have been asked to start a class to teach the teens about evangelism. Something more in-depth than what we have done during Bible class. We mailed out 140 compassion cards. We made 16 NM basket visits with eight delivered. We made one follow-up visit. Summer is here, and VBS is getting closer. Continuing to sow the seed!”

Center Point Road church of Christ, Toddville, Iowa (remote): John McGiffin (preacher) reports, “We can’t accept that evangelism doesn’t work in a rural setting. I contacted the American Legion Post that does the Memorial Day Ceremonies at two cemeteries here. I was able to give the invocation and a speech invoking several biblical examples. While there, we handed out invitation cards and postcards to upcoming events at the church. Next year, we plan to purchase about 100 small American flags and attach our invitation cards saying ‘This Flag is provided by the Center Point Road church of Christ.’ We may also place several flags at the flagpole in different cemeteries with a sign stating, ‘If your veteran is missing a flag, please take one as they are provided by the Center Point Road church of Christ.’ I also talked to the Post Commander and will have our children sing the National Anthem next year. Pictures attached show the ceremonies, a sample of a sign, and Laura handing out invitation cards to attend services. We made several connections with people in the community. We found one person who just moved back into the area three months ago and had attended Oklahoma Christian. We plan to reach out.”

Columbus church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Matt Fowler (member) reports, “We had some repeat visitors on Sunday. One is a prodigal who had recently attended with her mother and came back again, stating that she was moved by the compassion cards, especially from those of the children of the congregation. Beth and I finished Believe the Bible Study C with Jake and Paige, and we should be starting Back to the Bible this next weekend. We are enjoying some great fellowship and preaching this week at the Show Me State Bible lectures in Branson. We have a lot of great brethren here, and there is much talk about evangelism efforts. To God be the glory!”

Flatwoods church of Christ, Kentucky (remote): Nathan Adkins (elder) reports, “This past week we had two Bible studies and both of them are progressing well. We have another study planned this week. We made one follow-up visit after sending cards to a visitor. The visit went well, and he came to our services on Sunday and stayed for Bible class. We also took him out for lunch. We have had a total of eight Bible studies this month.”

Carriage Oaks church of Christ, Bossier City, Louisiana: Andrew Wynn (preacher) reports, “We had a number of our members out of town this past Sunday, traveling for the holiday weekend. We also had a few visitors who were traveling through the Bossier City area. We plan to roll out our evangelism plan one week at a time, starting this Sunday. We appreciate all prayers for our efforts so that souls will be saved, and God will be glorified in the Bossier City/Shreveport area.”

Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: Ben Vallery (deacon) reports, “Our metrics for the past week are as follows: Visitors: 10, Visits Made: six, Cards signed: Wk – 18 / Mo – 76, Prospects/Neighbors: nine, Bible studies: one, Baptisms: three, 2026 Baptism goal: 20. Our New Converts’ classes continue on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.  We celebrated the graduation of six amazing high schoolers this Saturday and our yearly Graduation Banquet (and Roast). We are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to watching them continue to grow.”

Waldorf church of Christ, Maryland: Joseph Day (member) reports, “On May 25, we had seven visitors and one Bible study during the week. We are working the follow-up porch visits. Sunday AM sermon was Part 1 of John 4, and we expect a baptism this week.”

La Plata church of Christ, Maryland: Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “All is going well here at the La Plata church of Christ. We wrote 85 compassion cards on Sunday, which brings our total for the month to over 350. That is more than we have written all year. Jaumale and I completed Lesson 2 of Back to the Bible with a young man who came to visit with us last Sunday and Wednesday. We are planning to get together with him tomorrow afternoon to do Lesson 3. We ask for prayers, that he will obey the Gospel. We were also able to have Sister Cindy sit in on the Bible studies and learn as a silent partner. After our first training session, the New Movers team took 17 new mover gift baskets out to the community. So far, they have delivered one basket, and we have one new contact. The final results will be in by the end of the week. We currently have 20 active prospects and five open Bible studies. The Wednesday night New Convert’s Bible study class now has its own space in the church building. We have introduced an 18-month weekly video training spreadsheet for our mentors, providing them with a tool to assist them as they work with the new convert they’re mentoring. The link to each video is built into the spreadsheet. The video training spreadsheet is a series of lessons designed to help the mentor keep the new convert engaged in the learning process, build confidence, and strengthen knowledge of the scriptures. The training spreadsheet has a dual effect; it trains and strengthens both the mentor and the new convert at the same time. Our mentors love it. It is editable, so it can be customized to fit any given need. We appreciate all prayers as we strive to evangelize Southern Maryland and the Washington DC metro area.”

Oak Grove church of Christ, Missouri: David Wiseman (elder) reports, “We are using the Back to the Bible Book 2 at this time. It has been a great review for our members, and we have had a lot of positive comments from the study. The last two weeks, we have had nine visitors, and most have been local residents. Two of those have been past members who have been away for a long period of time. We have sent 17 compassion cards and 23 new mover cards in our community. Our church family is still very focused on evangelism, and it has definitely stayed on top of our mind. VBS starts next week. We are using the AP material on Creation. We are set up to gather the information needed for our contact cards. We appreciate support. I have attached a picture of our board.”

Fulton church of Christ, Mississippi: Richard Comer (deacon) reports, “We sent about 20 cards. We had one visitor, and we will follow up. We continue to appeal to the congregation to invite people to visit church services. We are still trying to set up a Bible study. We will have a meal with a potential prospect on Saturday. I need to establish a good relationship.”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “We had a good Memorial Day weekend service. We had a good number. We had several visitors who were extended family of the members, so no new visitors from the community, unfortunately. We have our summer series coming up next month. I am really excited about our annual series. We have students from the Memphis School of Preaching coming to speak to us. We are giving them a bit more than we would a normal speaker to help with their support for the school. It has been a lot of fun through the years to see these young men and get to know them before they start their work in ministry. We are using this series to invite new people to the church services and hear new preachers. We have made ads on Facebook and started inviting people via text messages. We also had our Card-Writing Sunday this past Sunday, and we wrote many cards. Since it is Memorial Day weekend, I came up with a new category for the Bookmarks. After my sermon, I asked, ‘If anyone knows someone (even if someone who is not on your list) who is a veteran or in active service, please raise your hand? We want to send them not only an invitation card but also a thank you-card for serving in the military.’ We had more hands go up than in the last two months, so that was encouraging! Just an idea that I hope helps other churches get contact cards.”

Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Terry Hale (evangelist) reports, “We have a new brother; his name is Chris. He studied the Bible and received with meekness the word of God. We are also prospecting several more contacts.”

East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “We had two visitors this past Lord’s day. Our metrics thus far, through and for April 2026, are three baptisms, 18 visitors, ten Bible studies, and one in our New Convert class. We appreciate all prayers.”

Goldsboro church of Christ, North Carolina: Dennis Mays (elder) reports, “This Sunday our compassion card group wrote 81 cards. We had no new visitors this Sunday. This year, we had only one young lady graduating from High School, but after the evening worship service, the congregation celebrated with her. The Elders presented her with a Bible, as is our custom. We had no new Bible studies this week, but we still had seven active studies. We appreciate prayers for Acts studies, that they will produce new Christian brothers and sisters.”

Glendale Street Church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina: Dayle Taylor (minister) reports, “Prospects: David and Maria continue their studies with Jerry Smith, having completed the fourth lesson of Back to the Bible. They are also in their fourth lesson of Believe the Bible with prospects Chandon and Eloise. Another prospect, Emma, who had begun studies, appears to have become sidetracked. We ask for prayers that her interest will not be lost, and that she will soon resume her studies. We had one new visitor who accompanied a member, and that provided another contact on the church prospect list. New Converts: We currently have one new convert who is struggling with attendance. However, her presence on Sunday was welcomed by the members, including a grandparent who had been encouraging her. The other new converts are doing well. They are faithfully attending worship and Bible studies and actively participating. They have also provided valuable opportunities for the congregation to connect with their families, and compassion cards have been sent to encourage them. Restorations: For the third Sunday in a row, Ryan Colbert has attended worship after being absent for many years. He has repented and publicly confessed before the church, asking for prayers. In a private conversation, he affirmed his desire for restoration to Christ and agreed to study together, though he noted that his work schedule makes consistent attendance challenging. Please join us in praying for Ryan’s continued spiritual growth and full commitment to the Lord. Visitor Follow-Up: During this reporting period, eight compassion cards were sent.”

New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) report, “We had three first-time visitors on Sunday. All of them received a welcome gift. Cards and letters will be sent to each of them this week. One Bible study continues. This was study #5. Our sweet sister, who has been studying with this woman, reports that she completely understands what is necessary, even breaking down in tears, but she has not yet responded. My plan is to visit with her later this week to close the deal. We are gearing up for our Family Bible School. Also, we are hosting a quarter-long summer series. Our ‘Family and Friends Day’ is also being promoted. We are working on mass-mailing individual announcements to past recipients of compassion cards to let them know we are still here.”

Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “We did not have any visitors, which surprised us. We still had a great week, though. We sent 149 compassion cards, planned 15 transition visits, continued three Bible studies, and scheduled one additional Bible study possibly the week after next.”

Owasso church of Christ, Oklahoma: David Combs(elder) reports, “Yesterday was a great day to worship our God! Sunday evening, following worship, Group 4 met to write cards. Fifteen writers wrote 32 cards to be mailed out over this week. We had a baptism last week. Titus Connor put his Lord on in baptism last Sunday, May 17. This week we had one new prospect, and we wrote 32 cards.”

Barnes church of Christ, Oklahoma: John Bellah (member) reports, “On Sunday morning, Gary Henson began preaching the second book of Back to the Bible. We had two visitors, a couple who were invited by a member, and they stayed for our potluck meal and visited with several members. We have sent 293 compassion cards, and visits are being made. Some of our ladies have made homemade visitor bags to be filled, and this will be done soon.”

Grove church of Christ, Oklahoma: Juan Jarmillo (preacher) reports, “This past week was very, very good. We had 17 members show up for our visitation meeting, and we visited six prospects. Three of them were not open to a Bible study, but we will not give up on them. The other two were open to a Bible study, so we will follow up with them. The last one will be approached by the members to get to know them more. Last week, we wrote 132 cards and will be sending them to our prospects. We appreciate the prayers!”

Guymon church of Christ, Oklahoma: Chandler Henderson (preacher) reports, “This last week we finished our second lesson in Book 2. I will be preaching the remainder of Book 2 this coming Sunday. We have had a little more traction with individuals wanting to be more involved, and we have a personal study set up with two members to walk them through a mock study of all three books so that they can start studying with others. We also sent copies of Back to the Bible to a neighboring congregation that is starting to show more interest in evangelism, and we plan to have a phone call visit. We hope that a congregational visit soon will help motivate them and train them in evangelism. We have three contacts, six Bible studies, one New Convert’s class on Sunday morning going through ‘Growing in Christ,’, a men’s Bible study on Monday nights, and a women’s Bible study on Thursday nights.”

York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “This Sunday in York, even though we had a few who were missing due to vacations, we also had some others whom we do not always see. Our attendance wasn’t in the 60s, but we did hit 59. We had some repeat visitors with whom we had good conversations, including an older gentleman who visited months ago and whom we had visited at his house weeks ago. He is searching spiritually, ever since the loss of his wife a few years ago, and we hope that he is encouraged to continue that search with us. Another young lady who is now dating one of our young men seems like a good prospect for a Bible study in the near future. We attempted to hold a gathering for the young men of the congregation (we have about six who are between 16 and 26 years old). Most of them are new Christians or come from a Christian family but have not been baptized yet. Only a couple were able to attend due to conflicts, so we will try again in the near future.”

St. Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (preacher) reports, “This past week, we welcomed Keno Shrum at St. Andrews Road for our Continued Education Workshop, where he presented eight sessions of continuing education in evangelism. We had consistent attendance from a core group and look forward to growing participation from our congregation in seeking the lost. This past Sunday, a second Bible study was conducted with a couple who have been visiting for the past couple of months. The study went well as we ended Book Two and have scheduled the next study in Book Three for this Sunday afternoon. We wrote 28 compassion cards. Also, the husband of a visitor who has been visiting with us for a couple of weeks came today for the first time and was given a welcome bag. We look forward to getting to know them.”

White Knoll church of Christ, Red Bank, South Carolina: James Reynolds (evangelist) reports, “The brethren at White Knoll were given an update. The elders addressed the congregation, and we eagerly await the elders’ decision on the first steps to implement the model.”

Arlington church of Christ, Tennessee: Bob Cooley (member) reports, “We continue to send cards out to new movers. We have not had many visitors except last night. Five visitors came, and two of them have been here before. I am hoping and praying that there will be Bible studies in the future. By the way, one of the couples I studied with and baptized back in February was married last Sunday afternoon.”

Southern Hills church of Christ, Franklin, Tennessee: Fredrick Klein (preacher) reports, “Many of our youth are at camp this week. We pray for the friends and visitors who may be in attendance over the next week. Others in our congregation will be at the Apologetics Press camp. Our prayer is that they will learn more of God’s word and be willing to share it with the world.”

Soddy Daisy church of Christ, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “We praise God for every blessing and opportunity He has given us! We pray for faithful stewardship as a congregation to whom the Gospel has been given. It is an awesome responsibility to bring the good news to those with whom we have been building connections; we are very close to studying the Bible with them. This week, we have a few studies lined up with some dear friends and family members. Care Team 4 will send out compassion cards to our prospects. We are gearing up; we are beyond excited for the community outreach for our upcoming VBS, which will take place the first week in July! We appreciate all the prayers for these evangelistic efforts.”

Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Josh Kennedy (preacher) reports, “We have two studies set up. We are still waiting to see about a study with an atheist, and we are still waiting for a second study with another contact! We are currently stalling the card program as we reorganize some of our evangelistic efforts. We will update with the changes at a future date!”

Birdwell’s Chapel church of Christ, Cottontown, Tennessee: Kerry England (elder) reports, “School is out, and church camp is less than a month away. There is a good contingent of our youth going to camp, as well as several young people who attend regularly but whose families are not members of the congregation. We are praying that the church camp will be an excellent opportunity for them to obey the Gospel. Plans are underway for VBS and getting the word out in the community. Ads will run in HTHHTH for the next two months, and a personal invitation will be mailed to the families who have attended outreach events in the past year. Compassion cards are being mailed each week.”

Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “We are eagerly anticipating our upcoming VBS. We sent personal invitations to 49 different families that have visited us in the past year for our community outreach activities, such as Trunk & Treat, youth devotionals, Easter egg hunt, and Cookies with Santa. We are expecting to renew acquaintances, make new prospects, and share the Gospel with them.”

White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “We had 12 visitors; one couple went to lunch. We filled out 140 cards to go out this week. Transition visits are scheduled for this Thursday evening. We appreciate prayers for our workers. We also had a baptism last Tuesday. Noah Pickard obeyed the Gospel. We request prayers for him in his new life with Jesus.”

Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “Our work continues to go very well. We have a meal planned this Friday with two of our prospects who were visitors at our Gospel Meeting. We pray for an easy transition into the Bible study. We will be mailing out more compassion cards before the end of the week. We are now focusing on our VBS that will take place on June 13. We are making it evangelistic and encouraging our members to mail our flyers to families they know, who are not members of the church, that have children or grandchildren. I had a friend who showed interest in the adult classes. This will be the first VBS that the Freewill congregation has held, and we are looking forward to using this opportunity to seek and save the lost. We are praying for those going on mission trips. May God continue to bless us all and to Him be the glory.”

West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “We are at camp this week, so we do not have all our statistics at hand, but we have had two baptisms today! One was a young lady from our congregation, so it has been an exciting start to the week!”

Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “We continue to get a good number of visitors. Our card-writing teams are staying busy. Isaac is preaching through Galatians, so there have been plenty of lessons focused on evangelism and the Gospel. We continue to stay focused on reaching the lost.”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “It is always encouraging to observe other members of the congregation addressing biblical inquiries posed by individuals who are new to the Christian walk. Last week, following the Wednesday evening Adult Bible class, two men continued to engage in discussion regarding the class topic. Two noteworthy observations emerged from this interaction: first, the new Christian felt sufficiently at ease to pose a question that had not been encountered in other religious settings. Second, the member demonstrated a willingness to dedicate time to discussing the subject matter. These actions exemplify the principles of evangelism, as each member must be prepared to provide an answer to both those outside the Christian faith and those newly converted. May God continue to bestow His blessings upon our congregation.”

Rivergate Church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “We had two visitors on Wednesday night. On Sunday morning, we had seven visitors, and on Sunday night, we had two visitors. On Sunday morning, I started a two-part series on proving the Bible. During Bible class, we showed the video of Keno’s last lesson from last Sunday night for those who weren’t in attendance. We spent some time reminding the congregation about the importance of the contract cards. We had a couple who placed membership with our congregation this past week.”

Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (associate minister) reports, “We have now reached 22 new visitors year to date and have mailed 497 cards into the community. We remain at five visits made, while our prospect list has increased to 35 contacts. We also continue to have three active Bible studies underway at this time. The New Movers program remains consistent as well, with 45 baskets delivered so far this year. We are thankful for the continued opportunities these outreach efforts are creating and are encouraged by the gradual growth we are seeing.”

Dover church of Christ, Tennessee: Cody Brown (preacher) reports, “I finished the series from John 4 last night with the focus on the contacts bookmark. We had a member deliver a new mover’s basket to her neighbor, and she was also able to get their information for compassion cards and follow-ups. We have no change in our numbers for this week.”

North Jefferson church of Christ, Mt Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (associate minister) reports, “This past week was eventful for our congregation (a wedding and Senior Sunday). We added two new contacts, and we are working on helping our new converts become faithful in their attendance. Team 3 met yesterday and wrote 68 cards. We are working to get our youth more involved in the card writing, and Sunday was a great step in the right direction! We also had a VBS planning meeting on Sunday, and we are planning to reach out and invite previous visitors back.”

Bridge Avenue church of Christ, Weslaco, Texas: Braulio Carvajal (evangelist) reports, “This week we had four visitors at our Sunday services and one visitor at our Wednesday Bible class. We sent out 120 compassion cards on Sunday afternoon. Our New Convert’s class continues to have good attendance on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We are in the process of planning our VBS for this summer.”

Roanoke church of Christ, Texas: Caleb Rutherford (preacher) reports, “On Sunday, we met with our mentors and got that part of the model off the ground. We assigned our new converts (as well as new members), and they will be contacted this week. Group 3 wrote to five prospects this week. We continue to plan and prepare for hosting AMC in four weeks.”

Centerville Road church of Christ, Garland, Texas: Alan Stevens (elder) reports, “We sent 79 cards this past week to 13 individuals.  This coming week, we will make more transition visits. Continuing our training, yesterday was the first Sunday to preach on Book 3 of Back to the Bible. A young lady has been visiting with us who recently obeyed the Gospel while away at college. After the lesson, she asked for copies of the booklets to share the Gospel with her parents. A great example for us; we may never know the extent of the harvest.”

Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Mel Hutzler (preacher) reports, “We are happy to announce that Trent McGuire and Martin Soltero from the H.O.W Foundation were both baptized Friday night by Anthony. We are thankful for their decision to put Christ in baptism. Our New Convert’s class is growing; we now have 13 in the class. We have begun to identify members who have never been offered a New Convert class, although they have been in Christ for years. We will provide them with one-on-one study. We have two Christians who are studying in that way. Our entire youth group is still going through ‘God and Man,’ which is providing much fruit as they mature in Christ. We still have six new Bible studies going on. We are prospecting seven individuals. We plan to follow up with 12 people.
Anthony Castillo continues to labor at the H.O.W Foundation, a recovery home, and he teaches the Gospel there. Two more responded to the Gospel being taught there. Several from our congregation are joining me on a mission trip to Jamaica. Also, we have several plans to assist at the Roanoke, Texas American Mission campaign and a group heading to the Grand Cayman Islands. We are grateful to be a congregation actively seeking lost souls near and far.”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “Our New Movers group met Sunday evening to send material with a personal message to 55 homes. We look forward to seeing some of them at our assembly. Also, one of our compassion card teams met to send material with invites and prayers to those who are going through some difficult times.”

Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “We gave out Bibles to all the church’s seniors over the past two Sundays. Each one was given an AP Study Bible, and not all of them are Christians, so we pray that they read and study it; God gives the increase. I encouraged the church yesterday evening in preaching on fruit, that it will take all of us working together to produce more saved souls. We took a new mover’s basket to a neighbor who moved in recently. We invited them to our worship. We are praying for a chance to study with them.”

Stratford church of Christ, Texas: Chad Thies (preacher) reports, “Contacts: we had one visitor. Prospecting: we made two visits. Bible Studies: we had two Bible studies. New Converts: we had two in our New Converts’ classes on Sunday morning and one on Wednesday night. One new convert is participating in Scripture reading. A couple of other younger guys led singing during the evening service. Also, thoughts for the Lord’s Supper were given for the first time by a young brother. Growing church: we are excited to use Book 3 for a Bible study this Thursday with someone who was contacted through the New Movers program. It is going very well, and he is very hungry for the truth of God’s Word!”

San Saba church of Christ, Texas: Justin Bell (preacher) reports, “We added another person to our prospect list, bringing us to five prospects. We had another baptism this past week! Debbie Kohnle studied through the BTTB red book and realized that she did not understand repentance when she was baptized many years ago. We continue to study and mentor new converts. We also have a door-knocking scheduled for June 20. We hope to bring our prospect number back up to seven or eight.”

Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Kodie Martin (evangelist) reports, “We had a light week with the Memorial Day Holiday. We are mainly prepping for VBS and obtaining more contacts/prospects. I had a study that needed to be rescheduled, and an elder and his wife have a study that also needed to be rescheduled. We did write 42 cards, however, and are continually blessed by more visitors/attendance.”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “This week the Williamsburg church of Christ was blessed with one new couple visiting who plan to move to Williamsburg and are looking for a church home. We also had a couple who returned for a second time. We are moving forward with our VBS plans with our target audience of those who are in adjacent apartment complexes. We pray for all those seeking to save the lost.”

West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “Such an encouraging day yesterday! We had 152 for morning worship, the most since before COVID. About 20 guests gathered to honor and celebrate our High School graduates at a potluck lunch. The grandmother of one of the graduates (who is not yet a Christian, but we are prayerful about it) said she looked forward to coming again. That evening, we had a lesson about ‘Practical Tips for Evangelism.’ Some points made were keeping our eyes open to opportunities, making opportunities by watching for people’s needs, praying about our evangelism efforts, and during a study, work with someone who can help build the relationship. We will report next week about this coming Saturday’s ‘Community Support Day.’”

NOTE: These reports are from Christians and congregations enrolled in the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. These emails are sent to teach and provoke one another to remain focused on the mission of Christ. Each week, we share several reports and highlight one with more details. We hope you enjoy reading them.
