Success Stories: September 16, 2026

Welcome Burkburnett church of Christ, Texas: Jamie Beller (preacher) reports, “Rob completed the Evangelism Seminar on Friday, September 11, 2026. On Sunday, September 13, 2026, we had six visitors from the community (four adults and two children). Our Bible class covered a summary of the seminar as well as applying the model. During Bible class and before worship, we handed out the post-seminar surveys to members for completion. The morning sermon covered ‘Back to the Bible for Evangelism.’ Following worship, a contact was made, and a Bible study was scheduled with one of the visitors who was present with his two children. The mother and adult daughter visiting accepted the invitation to have lunch with a couple and the preacher. The mother and daughter returned on Sunday evening. During lunch, contact was made with two of the waitresses who are now prospects. Both expressed interest in visiting and requested more information, as well as interest in a Bible study. Following Sunday evening worship, a Bible study was scheduled with a young man who had been visiting.”

Welcome 14^th and Main church of Christ, Big Spring, Texas: “We want to welcome the 14^th and Main church of Christ to the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. They have one of the most impressive evangelism teams we have seen, composed of three SWSBS graduates who have already gone through our training at school. Jesse Stuart is their pulpit minister and has several years of field experience.  We can hardly wait to see how the Lord uses this congregation to reach the lost.”

Petersville church of Christ, Florence, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “Petersville sent 30 compassion cards this week. We are planning a work session to evaluate our ‘big ideas’ and make sure we are being good stewards with time and resources; congregational evangelism will be a central topic in the discussion. At our church retreat last weekend, we took notice that nearly 25 percent of those attending the retreat have been in Petersville for less than five years, so we continue to believe building up our outreach is essential to the future.”

Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “In addition to the continual effort for setting up studies, the elders and ministers met Sunday night. We are looking at possibly doing a review series, especially since we have so many new members who need to be educated on what we are doing. We hope to have this finalized in the near future. It has been four years since we started this process, and the members who were present initially are still very active.”

Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We have scheduled a meeting this week with a visiting family! Compassion cards continue to be written. New movers’ work is still going on as well. Trunk or treat is coming up, and we always make this a big community event. Planning and advertising will start soon.”

Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Joshua Holloway (preacher) reports, “We are thankful for another good week of evangelism at Cedar Grove! We continued with our regular Bible studies this week, along with the ongoing outreach efforts of our visitation team and card ministry. This week, we will be sending out 73 cards, bringing our September total to 146 cards and our grand total to 6,358 cards sent!”

70 West church of Christ, Hot Springs, Arkansas: Josh Romo (preacher) reports, “We introduced the bookmarks yesterday and preached the first part of John 4. We will preach Part 2 this coming Sunday. My father was restored Sunday night after being away from the church since Covid in 2020.”

Washington Avenue church of Christ, Jonesboro, Arkansas: Parker Pribble (member) reports, “This week, Austin (preacher) covered Book 1 of Back to the Bible in both of his morning and evening lessons. He demonstrated how to use these booklets to conduct a Bible study and discussed the main focus of this first booklet. He also took the congregation through the contents; he covered each question it contained and discussed the Bible passages that answer the questions. During both lessons, the congregation filled out the answers to these questions for themselves. After the evening service, Card Team 2 met and filled out 59 compassion cards for four prospects. The Visitation team will begin making visits to prospects this week, and one Bible study is scheduled. We are preparing baskets for our New Movers program, and we look forward to rolling out in the near future.”

Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “This past week, our evangelistic efforts experienced a great victory. Taylor Richardson, a high school senior, decided to be baptized in Christ. Taylor is a determined young woman who takes seriously everything she does. She leads her basketball team and is involved in several clubs at school. Over a year ago, Taylor encouraged her mother and father to come back to church. Though she had already developed a sincere faith in Christ, she had not yet taken that next step. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago, Taylor lost a dear friend in a car accident. That difficult experience, combined with her existing faith and the reminder that our time on earth is temporary, helped cement her decision to finally put Christ on in baptism. What made the evening especially encouraging was the number of people who came to witness her decision. Approximately 30 family members, friends, and classmates were present; even one of her teachers came. Most of them are not members of the church, but their presence that night was a beautiful testimony to the influence Taylor already has in the lives of those around her. It was also wonderful to see the congregation surround Taylor—both figuratively and literally—as we sang, prayed, and welcomed her into the family of God. Following the baptism, many members took the opportunity to introduce themselves, welcome her friends and extended family, and invite them to come back. Taylor’s baptism was not only a victory for her; it also reminded everyone of the evangelistic influence one faithful young person can have. We pray that her decision to follow Christ will continue to influence the many people who witnessed it.”

Northside church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Larry Keener (elder) reports, “Northside in Harrison began small work group Sunday evening meetings. Several of our contacts were included in those groups.  Our transition visits continue, and our next meeting of that group is scheduled. Cards are going forth every Sunday following services. Our family retreat is in October with invites to those who have returned to church. To God’s glory.”

Harrisburg church of Christ, Arkansas: Mark Weston (elder) reports, “We have ten more names from HTH regarding new movers this past week. The number of contacts we are receiving from this program alone is remarkable! This great blessing allows us to make some personal contacts and get acquainted with new people in our communities. We are currently working with about 22 prospects. We signed another 95 cards Sunday night, and our total compassion cards sent out so far this month is over 250. These cards are making an impact. We are getting great responses, and hopefully they will spawn more Bible studies. We have had seven visitors this month at services, and one of our members was restored to Christ. I do not know the exact number of visits that have been made, but it may be as many as 14! God is good, and we are growing stronger in our faith by simply working this wonderful evangelism program. Bible studies are scheduled this week, and this weekend I have a very heartfelt and loving sermon that I have entitled, ‘What Is Keeping You from Obeying?’ I hope this lesson will help those who have been studying to consider their indecision to obey. I am also gearing this lesson towards members who were once committed to the Christian life, but they may not be living that life now. I want them also to consider their indecision about returning to Christ. This is not a finger-pointing lesson; I will simply explain that when we study and become aware of our relationship with Christ, the knowledge we gain demands a decision. We cannot simply keep studying and use it as an excuse not to obey. I am convinced that if someone has studied for a long time, attends faithfully, searches the scriptures, and sincerely wants to know God’s will, the problem may no longer be a lack of information. It may be that they have not yet crossed the line from seeking to surrendering! We appreciate all prayers for those whose hearts may need softening to move them to obedience.”

Concord Street church of Christ, Orlando, Florida: Billy Dickson (evangelist) reports, “We appreciate continuing prayers for the work of evangelism at Concord Street. Our Visitor Team continues to visit prospects and those who have been receiving compassion cards in order to build relationships and opportunities to share God’s Word. Our New Convert’s class continues to meet Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, providing ongoing encouragement and instruction as our new Christians grow in their faith. To date, Concord Street has had 14 baptisms since our evangelism seminar. We are thankful for each soul who has come to Christ and ask for continued prayers for our new converts, those studying the Bible, and current prospects. We pray that God will continue to open doors for the Gospel.”

Oceanside church of Christ, Atlantic Beach, Florida: Victor Eskew (preacher) reports, “Yesterday our Bible class time focused on getting the congregation to understand the overall program, especially getting contacts and moving them to the prospect list. We also discussed the changes made to our budget in order to fund the program. After services, we trained five couples to be pew greeters. The men have a meeting this week to continue organizing. We will train more door and pew greeters and select and train two or three women to handle the compassion cards.”

Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “Sunday was a good day for our evangelism ministry! First, our Bringers’ Steward has been communicating with, organizing, and training our new Pew Greeters team. This past Sunday, the team went to work. All the planning paid off! The team performed all their duties flawlessly, and they made many good contacts! In addition, our Teachers Steward has also been building his team, and a meeting is scheduled for next week to start implementing a new plan. We are excited about what this new push will bring! Secondly, it was a good day because our elders met with the eldership of the Avalon church of Christ (the church we planted nine years ago) to begin discussions about a possible new church plant in the future. It takes several years to execute a successful church plant, and the growth between our two congregations—through our own evangelism efforts—has prompted the need for these discussions! We pray that this becomes a reality, that God is glorified, and that His kingdom is expanded in this area! Our current total 2026 Accountability Board numbers are: 271 Contacts Received; 208 Neighbors (Prospects); 972 Compassion Cards sent; 44 Bible studies; two Restorations; and 13 Baptisms.”

Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Tom Neth (deacon) reports, “We continue to be encouraged by the opportunities God is giving us to share His Word. This week, we have a new Bible study beginning because we did not assume someone was already where they needed to be spiritually; we simply asked. That is an important reminder for us as we continue this work. We want to keep praying for and remembering those who are already part of our assembly but have never obeyed the Gospel. They are not simply names on a list or people we see each Sunday. They are people we know, worship alongside, and have opportunities to encourage toward a relationship with Christ. The opportunity can begin with something as simple as asking a question, starting a conversation, or offering to study God’s Word together. We cannot assume where someone stands spiritually. We need to care enough to ask and then be ready to help them take the next step. We currently have three active Bible studies, with a new study beginning this week. We have also seen 17 baptisms so far this year.”

Milestone church of Christ, Cantonment, Florida: Randy Brantley (elder) reports, “We had another training class Saturday on new movers. Everyone is excited about how it went. One more Bible study started last week. Jerry went through records and counted the percentage of our members involved in HTH and evangelism, and it came up to 60 percent.”

Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “On Sunday, we had 15 or more visitors from the local community. We have studies going on with some, and people are working with others. One family that has been visiting consistently is showing interest in getting involved and is attending Bible class. We had a family meeting Sunday concerning our fellowship program and community outreach events. We are hoping to get more activity in this area. We had two studies last week. We sent ten cards. Next week, I have an evangelism training class scheduled to start. Fourteen people signed up. One is from outside our church family. Talk about an opportunity—this is it! Sunday was an example of how ministry does good over the long haul. A lady who had visited us eight years ago returned for a visit. She sat with my wife and me. She told us how much we had helped her. Though I remembered her, I had no idea how I helped her. I now have the opportunity to connect her to a body of Christ where she currently lives. She just moved into our community, and she is looking for a church home. Kingdom work is sometimes a mystery. We plant and water, but we do not always know when the harvest will come. We just keep doing good things and spreading the word; that is all God expects of us.”

Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “Woodstock church of Christ (WCOC) and the Sunabella Assisted Living Facility (SALF) conducted devotionals on Sunday. We had four non-Christians attend. The Compassion group sent out 12 compassion cards. We had 13 visitors for Sunday morning worship.”

Cumming church of Christ, Georgia: Murphy O’Brien (member) reports, “Last week we had one new contact, bringing the yearly total to 65. There were no new visitors, though the year-to-date count stands at 19, and two visitor follow-ups were completed last week, pushing the yearly total to 55. Cards sent last week numbered 26, for a running total of 674 this year. There are currently 23 prospects. No Bible studies were held last week, but 46 have taken place so far this year, and while there were no baptisms last week, one has occurred this year.”

Warner Robins church of Christ, Georgia: Damien Walker (evangelist) reports, “We have several new contacts submitted. We continue to encourage the congregation to be mindful of people they know, pray for them, and look for opportunities to reach out to them. This Sunday we had 19 visitors, and our card group wrote 91 cards.”

Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “Our Family and Friends Day was a success. We had several visitors that we will begin prospecting. One Bible study has already been set up. The HTHSOE Student Program has a few overseas missionaries as students. They incorporate what they learn from the program into their work. We now have a student who works with the church in New Zealand.”

Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “We sent 22 cards this month and had three visitors and two prospects. We are getting ready for door knocking this Saturday.”

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “School is in session, the weather is beautiful, and we are firing on all cylinders. We mailed 36 compassion cards last week. We conducted five Bible studies. We are very close to two baptisms with Larry and Monica. We did a follow-up visit with a couple whom we met through Thanksgiving baskets. They livestream on Sundays and Wednesdays and tell their friends about the church. They received 40 cards and want to continue getting them. We visited for nearly two hours. We will study Book 1 of BTTB with them on Tuesday. We did five other follow-up visits and delivered some new mover’s baskets. Once a relationship begins, Bible studies can come quickly.”

Harrisburg church of Christ, Illinois: Doug Berry (minister) reports: “We are following up on the people who received our cards after our door knocking when Keno was here, plus other contacts we have. It is really hot here this week, but this is important! We are great at sending cards, and now we are striving to be great at following up! We are going to practice several things after Potluck this coming Sunday!”

Columbus church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Matt Fowler (member) reports, “We sent some cards to a prospect who is suffering through some hard times. We continue to pray for more visitors, as we have seen some new faces visit over the last few months, and we have written cards to encourage them. We finished reviewing Does It Matter? As a congregation, we began reviewing Believe the Bible.”

15th Street church of Christ, Ottawa, Kansas (remote): Brady Altic (associate minister) reports, “We are still planning on two Bible studies this week. On Saturday, we will be setting up a booth at a local car show. We have AP Bibles to hand out along with other materials. We are excited to have our first new movers list from HTH, and we will try to use it through door knocking and new-mover baskets. We appreciate all prayers for us and for those who are studying the Bible with us. We request prayers for our congregation to stay steadfast in this work for the Lord.”

Flatwoods church of Christ, Kentucky (remote): Nathan Adkins (elder) reports, “This past Saturday, we split up in teams of two and went door-knocking. We had six teams. Eighteen people asked for us to pray for them. On Sunday, we distributed a list for the whole congregation, so we could all pray for them. On Sunday night, we wrote cards to be sent to them as well. We are also in the middle of a Gospel Meeting. We had five new visitors on Sunday morning, and four of them stayed for our fellowship meal. Brother Chris has a meal and a Bible study set for tomorrow with one of the visitors. I pray that we can stay focused on following up on our prospects.”

Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (elder) reports, “This weekend, our youth group held its annual retreat. In addition to a good number of our young people, we were blessed by several of their friends coming, and most of those are not Christians. We are hoping this is an inroad to follow up with further events, but also with Bible studies. We have one study with long-time guests that is being scheduled for this week, and we are hoping for a couple of other studies that have started in the last few weeks to continue.”

Carriage Oaks church of Christ, Shreveport, Louisiana: Andrew Wynne (preacher) reports, “Last week was Team 2’s week for compassion cards. All the cards were written. We are continuing to have good participation with writing cards. Yesterday, I preached through the first part of Back to the BibleBook 2. We were still slightly down in our attendance yesterday, but we still had several visitors. We were very blessed to receive word that a young couple wanted to place membership with us. Their names are Eric and Savannah. This week, our plan is to continue our compassion card efforts. This Sunday, I plan to preach Part 2 of Back to the Bible, Book 2; we will also have a training class on the transition visit. Please continue to pray for our efforts in reaching the lost.”

La Plata church of Christ, Maryland: Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “This week at the La Plata church of Christ, the saints wrote 61 compassion cards. We also delivered two transition gifts to individuals on our prospects list and one new mover’s basket. We also partnered with and supported the Waldorf church of Christ during their community outreach event on Saturday. Through that effort, we made more than 20 contacts and set up a couple of Bible studies. We thank God for blessing us with the opportunity to fellowship and evangelize the folks in the Waldorf community, with our brethren at the Waldorf church of Christ. To God be the glory!!!”

Waldorf church of Christ, Maryland: Joseph Day (member) reports, “Our Community Day on September 12 was wonderful. We had many visitors and collected 17 contact cards. Today we had nine visitors, and five visitors were directly linked to the Community Day. Preparations for many compassion cards are underway.”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “We had a RESTORATION this past week on Wednesday night! That puts us at five for the year, which is wonderful to see. We had one visitor this past Sunday, and one visitor this past Wednesday night. We continue to give our new visitors personalized visitor packages from the church. We had our Open Forum Sunday night, and our new youth minister joined the elder and minister on stage to help answer questions, which was a good introduction to the work. We have a Ladies Day planned for this Saturday to help strengthen the saved, and a Door Knocking Day next Saturday to seek the sinners. The first class of the Magnolia Bible Institute just finished this past Saturday, and the next class begins on September 26. The door-knocking team went out this past weekend. They did the transition visits. The Door Knocking Day will not cover transition visits, so the regular door knocking team took care of that this past weekend. We have compassion cards scheduled to be written next week. We continue to do the bookmarks after each sermon. We try to incorporate the new members and shy teens into that activity by letting them hand out the contact cards from the back of the auditorium. We continue to send out the House to Housemagazine, and we even received a Bible quiz in the mail this past week. I graded it and sent it back with a bookmark.”

Fulton church of Christ, Mississippi: Richard Comer (member) reports, “We continue to send 20 cards a week. We currently have two Bible studies. We plan to have a Trunk or Treat event next month. We will begin handing out invitations to the event next week.”

Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire: Terry Hale (member), “We have two scheduled Bible studies as we transition from prospect stage. We also request prayers for three souls who have been baptized, and they desire growth. Studies are in progress. Two other studies are also continuing to grow as they see God’s plan. The New Convert class is still going well.”

East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “We had six visitors this past Lord’s Day. We are prepared and ready to participate in the annual Door-knocking Day this Saturday. Our metrics thus far through and for September are three baptisms, 11 visitors, and 43 contacts. We appreciate all prayers.”

Glendale Street church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina (remote): Dayle Taylor (minister) reports, “Prospects: Bible studies through BTTB and Does It Matter? continue with current prospects. Several prospects who have not attended in a while were present in Bible study and worship. All but two new converts were in worship Sunday. Personal cares and secular needs still present obstacles to committing to study and worship attendance. We continue to encourage, strengthen, and support our new converts to evangelize and grow in Christ. For visitor follow-up, we sent nine compassion cards during this reporting period.”

Oak Forest church of Christ, Goldsboro, North Carolina: Dennis May (elder) reports, “This Sunday, we had three visitors. One was a new visitor who, when we talked to him, said he wanted to come back and visit us again. The other two were here for the third Sunday in a row. They have been talking to Lennie about starting a Bible study. We request prayers that they will carry through with this study. The Compassion Card teams that meet Sunday afternoon completed 130 cards. This past week, we started making 16 new movers baskets and delivered four of them. More ladies are busy making the remaining baskets, and others are volunteering to take them to these new movers. A group of members are planning a community event at our church, and we hope that this will be able to happen.”

Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Goodwell, Oklahoma: Isaiah Sprouse (evangelist) reports, “This week, we used our OPSU Homecoming Football game as a contact maker. We set up a hospitality room at the student center, making sure to have evangelism materials on display. We also set up an evangelism table at the tailgate party. By doing so, we were able to find seven people who wanted  House To House mailed to them, and out of those seven, another was interested in Bible study.” We have two who are close to finishing Book 3 of BTTB. We hope that one will obey the Gospel and the other will be restored. We have two more college students who have started Book 1 of BTTB. We also have two solid contacts we are prospecting, along with several lukewarm ones. Altogether, we continue to labor and give God all the glory.”

Grove church of Christ, Oklahoma: Juan Jarmillo (preacher) reports, “Our meeting with Keno was amazing! We loved having him, and many of our members now understand the process better. They want to find a place where they can fit into the model! We are having our transition visit assignment Tuesday at 4:30 PM, and we will put what Keno taught us into practice. We appreciate all the prayers!”

Guymon church of Christ, Oklahoma: Chandler Henderson (evangelist) reports, “This past week, we had a guest speaker from the Philippines. It was very encouraging to hear about the work they are doing there. We discussed taking in four evangelist interns next year. We have four prospects, three Bible studies, and are working to get more contacts every week.”

New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) reports, “We had several visitors on Sunday morning. Each received a welcome gift and has been added to our compassion card mailing list. Linda and I will continue our study with Jen this week. We are on Book 3 of Back to the Bible. We mailed out over 175 cards to past compassion card recipients. We sent them an invitation announcement of our upcoming Fall events (Gospel Meeting and our Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner).”

Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “Two married couples visited, and we obtained contact cards from both. We have made six transition visits and are hoping the visits lead to studies. I do not have a card count because the ladies in charge of getting the information were at the retreat in Tennessee. Best of all, we had one baptism this past week! We sent 95 compassion cards, and we have three prospects.”

Barnes church of Christ, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: John Bellah (member) reports, “On Sunday morning, we took time, as has become our practice, to pray for those who are lost that we know. One of our groups wrote cards to one individual who recently lost a loved one. In our afternoon lesson, Brant Stubblefield preached a lesson geared to encourage some of our new Christians.”

York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “This week in York, we had slightly lower attendance. We still had good classes and sermons, which included consistent messaging from the preacher, elders, deacons, and other members about the need for personal evangelism. In the evening, we had some repeat visitors; we greeted them and spent some time with them. It seems that they will be meeting with us again soon.”

Saint Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (minister) reports, “This past week our congregation wrote 48 compassion cards. We held our second training class with our Transition Visit teams, which included role-playing, among other things. We gave out two visitor bags this past Sunday and received contact information from both. Also, another visitor, who is a coworker of a member, returned from the prior week and is receiving compassion cards. We made one transition visit, had a good conversation, and will visit again soon. We continue to have three in our New Converts’ class.”

Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (evangelist) reports, “I wanted to send a quick update on the evangelism work here at Collierville. Our latest reported numbers remain at 31 visitors, 728 compassion cards, six personal visits, 54 prospects, 66 new movers baskets, and six Bible studies. The most encouraging development right now is with Jonathan and Latanya. We recently spent more time together over lunch and Bible discussion, and there is a very strong likelihood that we will be moving into a third Bible study with them. The relationship continues to develop well, and they have shown genuine interest in continuing to study and discuss Scripture. We are also continuing to work with several other prospects; we are waiting for schedules to open with a few people so we can begin or resume studies. Overall, the work continues to move forward, and I am very encouraged by the opportunities we are seeing.”

Covington church of Christ, Tennessee: Wayne Dalrymple (elder) reports, “Things are looking up at Covington. First, we rejoice that a lost sheep was found Sunday as one of our members came confessing sin in his life and stating his desire to repent and be forgiven. Also, we have a couple of exciting new opportunities to reach out to the community. On September 29, our youth minister, Jeff Phillips, will begin a Bible class that will take place every Tuesday afternoon at one of our local schools. It will be open to teachers, parents, and students. We pray it opens the door for personal Bible studies as well. Another way we are reaching out is that we have begun feeding the local middle school football team and staff before their games each week. They are coming to our church building to eat. We hope to make a positive impact on these people and their families and invite them to worship and study with us. Lastly, we are engaged in the first-ever Tipton County area-wide Gospel Meeting. The churches in Tipton County are working together in this effort. We are meeting at a local middle school for our services. We thought that would be a more neutral location, and people in the community might be more willing to go to a school campus rather than a church building. I will report on the immediate results of the Gospel Meeting next week.”

Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “Good morning. Our work continues, and we are making new contacts. Our next addition of House to House will be mailed out in the next couple of weeks. We are about to revive our compassion card ministry to make it more efficient. We continue to pray for all. We give God the glory.”

West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “We had another person sign up to receive Bible studies from our billboard. We are trying it for about a month to see how it works. It is exciting to see that catching on a little bit. We also had visitors yesterday, and they seem to be very good potential prospects.”

Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “We were blessed with visitors Sunday morning and evening, including some from our recent backpack and school supplies giveaway. There are two ongoing Bible studies that we pray will bear fruit. Our Compassion Card groups and new mover basket delivery teams continue to do excellent work each month in making connections with our community.”

Soddy church of Christ, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “Praise God from whom all blessings flow! I am excited to report a wonderful and successful ‘Homecoming/Friends and Family Day.’ In addition to seeing familiar faces, we were also blessed to meet many who have been on our ‘Bookmarks.’ Many faithful wives were so thankful that their husbands accepted the invitation to be with us (we have been praying specifically for these). We met many new visitors as our members and new converts invited their friends and family to come to Bible study and worship. We are so thankful for the new contacts and connections we had the opportunity to begin yesterday! What a joy it will be to get to know each of them, reaching out to them with cards, calls, and visits. We praise God for the Gospel of Christ and rejoice with the Father in Heaven as a soul responded, desiring to obey the Gospel at the conclusion of the morning worship assembly! Sally was baptized into Christ for the remission of sins!”

Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Daniel Burton (member) reports, “This week we have seven new prospects who will soon be receiving cards from us. Also, a family visited again, even though they had previously said that they would not be back. This is a good reminder to never give up on people.  Keep praying. We also have four prospects to visit, so we ask for prayers for these opportunities as we continue reaching out and planting the seed.”

Southern Hills church of Christ, Franklin, Tennessee: Freddie Klein (preacher) reports, “We recently held our first new movers meeting, and it was an encouraging beginning. Several families attended, and others who were unable to be there reached out afterward to ask how they could participate. During the meeting, we distributed the HTHSOE New Movers information sheets and contact lists, and we provided the gifts that have been prepared for each home. We also updated the Southern Hills trifold brochure so that visitors and new residents receive current information about the congregation and its work. After we explained how the program operates, the response from the congregation was enthusiastic. More than 30 addresses were quickly reserved by members who are eager to welcome new families into our community. We are encouraged by the desire of so many to help us strengthen our connection with those who are moving into the area.”

White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “We had 30 visitors Sunday. No one agreed to go to lunch, but one couple agreed to go next week. We are sending out 160 cards this week. Next Sunday evening, we are starting a series of training sessions to help get back on track.”

Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “We received some good news from a couple of our members recently. One has been studying with his daughter who is in East Tennessee. She made the decision to obey the Gospel after several years of conversations and prayers, so we praise God for that. Another younger member recently baptized his fiancé into Christ. We rejoice with both of these new sisters. We are also encouraged by the various members of the congregation taking the charge to share the Gospel with their friends and family. Many of these are happening organically as each person individually takes up the commission. Also, this week we will restart our Community Table program, so we pray for opportunities through this as well.”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “One of the ways the elders at Mountain Creek demonstrate their commitment to monitoring the congregation’s spiritual well-being is through our ‘Where You Been?’ attendance tracking system. A dedicated group of women diligently records attendance each week and provides the elders with a comprehensive report every Wednesday for our weekly meeting. The attendance list undergoes thorough review each week. When an individual fails to attend, our women promptly initiate contact to ascertain the reason for her absence. If the second consecutive absence lacks a valid explanation, the matter is assigned to an elder for further investigation. Subsequent absences warrant increased attention from the elders towards the concerned individual or family. When a new individual or family expresses a desire to be included in our oversight, we provide them with an explanation of this process. On Friday evening, a couple who had recently been restored reached out to inform the elders that they would be out of town visiting family. Another new Christian texted Sunday morning, indicating they were visiting at a Friends and Family Day at another church of Christ. Again, we want to be aware of our process. Subsequently, after Sunday worship, another young couple explained their absence for the next two Sundays due to being out of state. We firmly believe that this attendance tracking system is a crucial component of the Keepers portion of the evangelism process.”

Rivergate church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “We had three visitors on Wednesday night this past week. Sunday was our Homecoming, and we planned it in coordination with the ‘holiday’ Grandparents’ Day. It worked out well. We had 37 visitors, and almost all of them stayed for our meal.”

Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “We are continuing to seek new contacts, send cards, and train our new converts to be people of the Book. The young man who was struggling to make the commitment still has not made the decision. I am studying with him again tomorrow afternoon.”

San Saba church of Christ, Texas: Justin Bell (preacher) reports, “We had a great week here in San Saba! Six months ago, Mary Riser lost her daughter. We fed the family after the funeral service, sent her numerous cards, cooked her meals, and brought her a bereavement basket among many other things over the past six months. After studying with her for the past several weeks, she was baptized into Christ this past Tuesday. We currently have seven prospects, two ongoing Bible studies, four transition visits to make, and four new movers’ doors waiting for us to knock them.”

Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Rob McNicol (elder) reports, “We have had five Bible studies, and we have seven attending our New Converts’ class. We have had two baptisms in the last week.”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (evangelist) reports, “Some of our young adults went out in the community and passed out invitations to our services. We will meet this coming Sunday to mail cards to prospects. One of our members had a 90th birthday, and her family celebrated with a party after our evening service. A visitor was here and stayed. We hope to study with her.”

Lake Country church of Christ, Burnet, Texas: Alex Simmons (preacher) reports, “This past week, several of our members had a Bible study with the young man who visited last week. The study went extremely well! The second study will take place sometime this next week, Lord willing. Also, at the end of this week, we will be hosting the SWSBS student lectures. On Friday night before the lectures begin, we are going to door-knock the city of Burnet. We are going to implement several strategies to gain contacts. We are praying this effort will be successful.”

Whitehouse church of Christ, Texas: Cody Stewart (evangelist) reports, “This past Sunday, we had 12 visitors during our services. Several were repeat visitors that we are turning into contacts. We have three ongoing Bible studies that we are praying lead to decisions to obey the Gospel. It was announced to the congregation that our compassion card ministry will officially begin during the first week in October. We delivered the lesson on the prodigals during our evening service, outlining the need to reach out with love to those who have drifted away from the church. The ‘Second Thoughts’ bookmark was highlighted during that lesson as a restoration study tool, and it is available at both evangelism centers we have set up in the building for members’ convenience.”

Roanoke church of Christ, Texas: Caleb Rutherford (preacher) reports, “We had another good week/weekend. Fourteen more visits were assigned and carried out. Another Bible study was scheduled, bringing our total to 16. There is not one cookie-cutter way to study the Bible with someone. Each of our studies presents different scenarios and different needs. We are using multiple methods and multiple tools. Some studies are getting close to Gospel obedience. We appreciate prayers for these souls.”

Bridge Avenue church of Christ, Weslaco, Texas: Braulio Carvajal (preacher) reports, “About 15 years ago, a child by the name of Fernando Cuellar began attending Bridge Avenue through our bus ministry. About two months ago, he returned to Bridge Avenue. On Saturday, he made the decision to be baptized. Andy Downing, who has led our bus ministry for over 30 years, baptized him. This week, we had a total of seven visitors at our congregation. We have three ongoing Bible studies and have had good attendance in our New Converts’ classes. Bridge Avenue will be celebrating 100 years as a congregation in November. Given our continual growth, we will begin a leadership program beginning in October.”

Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “Currently, we have six studies taking place, with two new prospects. Our new converts are thriving, and many good works are taking place.”

North Jefferson church of Christ, Mount Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (associate minister) reports, “Reach Team 3 met yesterday and wrote cards. My studies were put on pause because my father and I went to a preacher’s workshop in Georgetown. This week, I hope to study with Austin (member) and Nathali (prospect), with Scott and Jena (members) with Zamya (prospect), and with Joe Hall (recurring visitor). Jeff plans to study with Oscar this week. Oscar will soon be moving back to Colorado, but he has become very interested in his standing with God. We ask those who read this report to pray that Oscar will obey the Gospel when they reach Book 3. On another note, our congregation was dealt a huge blow when a previous member who worshipped about 45 minutes away passed away recently. He was 32 years old, and he left behind a wife and three children under the age of 11. North Jefferson was this family’s second church home, and the congregation is doing a fantastic job embracing them at this time. This being said, some members’ evangelistic involvement may decrease in the short term, but we will keep pressing on as best we can.”

Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Kodie Martin (evangelist) reports, “We rejoice in David’s decision to be baptized into Christ. He is a friend of a sister in Christ who knew that he needed to change his life. After studying, he obeyed the blessed Gospel. He will be moving soon east to Tyler, Texas, but we rejoice with him and will set him up with a congregation who will help him on his journey. We began making transition visits this week. Two of our new members were there and jumped right into the work! It is always an encouragement to see individuals get into the work we are doing. Along the same lines, Marco also preached an uplifting sermon, showing the congregation our total numbers and emphasizing how well things have gone. We hope any doubters will have nothing left to doubt in the work!”

Vidor church of Christ, Texas: Johnie Scaggs (preacher) reports, “We are meeting and preparing to begin Congregational evangelism next week.  We are excited to start training the members and reaching out to our community.  We have a Gospel meeting this weekend with Mike Hixon.  Keep us in your prayers as we focus on the lost.”

Abingdon church of Christ, Virginia: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “The Abingdon church of Christ is ready for an evangelism explosion! I have been the preacher at Abingdon for seven weeks now. The church here was already enrolled in the program before I arrived. There are some things we need to restructure, and there are some people who need new roles, but the foundation has been laid. We had a baptism last week. Brother Allen Orr was a long-time member of the Presbyterian church, but he had been attending Abingdon for a few years without having made the decision to obey the Gospel. His conversion was cause for rejoicing! We have plans to participate in Door Knocking Day this Saturday, but since I am new, the plans are coming together at the last minute. We are going to do it anyway! Abingdon is a town ripe for growth. The congregation has her shoulder to the plow, but we need some organization. The best is yet to come!”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “Williamsburg church of Christ will be building our Vision and Goals for 2027 in the next few months. While we focus on glorifying God and serving Him in all that we do, we are looking at each of our ministries to ensure people participating in these ministries are seen as contacts. This week, we identified those in the Reading Assistance Program as contacts and are sending compassion cards to them. We have also sent cards to our new movers within the community. We are also preparing for the Brotherhood Door Knocking event. Our prayers have been that God will provide opportunities for all those who participate.”

West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Chris French (minister) reports, “Joe was a fisherman, so he built a pond beside his house; Joe was also a fisher of men, so he started inviting the neighborhood kids to fish at his pond. It wasn’t long before he started hosting a fishing tournament at his pond. He would invite the church and the community, and lots of good conversations were had around baiting a hook or reeling in a fish. Joe would give out several prizes at the end of the day. Before the day was over we would eat and have a devotional. Just about everybody in that small town in Ohio knew about Joe and his pond. When you are a fisher of men, every asset at your disposal is turned to evangelism. It is never just a pond. It is an opportunity.”
