Success Stories: September 30, 2026

Glencoe church of Christ, Alabama: Brooks Boyd (elder) reports, “Sunday was an exceptional day for us at Glencoe. We went all out to show appreciation to our members who are at least 80 years of age. Sunday morning’s sermon was titled ‘Veteran Saints.’ After worship, we had a short video featuring all of those senior members, followed by a fellowship meal given in their honor. Each member also received a beautiful booklet of their photos, called ‘Legacy of Faith.’ Several of their family members came who are not members of the Lord’s church, and some are from our area. We will add them to our compassion card list. We are prospecting a couple who attended both services of our Friends and Family Day three weeks ago. We sent them compassion cards last week and have a visit planned for next week. Their young adult daughter is one of our new converts.  We also have three prospects still attending with whom we have had several Bible studies. Momentum seems to be building following a baptism on Saturday, September 19 and two restorations on September 20.”

Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “Our leadership has been key to keeping the momentum of our soul winning. We added two additional elders this week, both of whom are passionate about leading others to Christ. Without the elders taking the lead in our efforts, we would not be near where things are today. We have several prospects, and we hope to begin studies with them soon. We also had a conversation today about a visitor who is a prime opportunity for scheduling a study soon.”

Fayette church of Christ, Alabama: Josh Taylor (deacon) reports, “We continue to work hard in our evangelism program. We recently performed our door-knocking for our Gospel Meeting with Allen Webster. We met some good prospects and are working with them at this moment. We are thankful for what God has already done and continues to do with our efforts.”

Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We started a study last week with a family who has been visiting with us. We are continuing to meet with them on Monday evenings! Compassion cards continue to be written each week, and the new movers’ work continues. We have been advertising for Trunk or Treat and already have people from the community signed up to be with us!”

Petersville church of Christ, Florence, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “Petersville sent 30 compassion cards last week. Our plans for Trunk or Treat are moving ahead, and we pray for contacts from that effort. There is one study still going that we expect to bear fruit when it concludes, and a prospect who has been invited to services in the past was at worship last night. Several in the congregation are reaching out to him with encouragement.”

Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Joshua Holloway (preacher) reports, “We are thankful for another good week of evangelism at Cedar Grove! We continued with our regular Bible studies this week, along with the ongoing outreach efforts of our visitation team and card ministry.”

70 West church of Christ, Hot Springs, Arkansas: Josh Romo (preacher) reports, “We preached from John 4 again yesterday. The response of the congregation has been fantastic. Next Sunday, October 4, we will begin compiling our contact list by asking questions from our bookmarks.”

Bergman church of Christ, Arkansas: Vince Stewart (preacher) reports, “Much good is picking up here. We have sent out 40 compassion cards this month. Soon we will consider meeting 30 minutes before Wednesday night Bible study to discuss where we are on our evangelism work. We will use the time to update our prospect information and rehearse things like door knocking and Bible studies. This week we had two new visitors who are very eager to have a Bible study. Yesterday my wife and I made a transitional visit, which led to scheduling lunch on October 11, followed by a Bible study. Two other members (silent partners) will join us for the study. We also made a new mover’s visit. Yesterday, I preached at the Berryville church of Christ to fill in since they have no preacher. I did my best to promote HTHSOE’s work. We are now starting to get more new contacts for prospecting. I am happy to see this frame of mind starting to develop in the minds of the members; they are now looking for more contacts on their own.”

Rison church of Christ, Arkansas: Keden Shrum (preacher) reports, “We continue sending cards and following up with contacts from our door-knocking campaign. We have two Bible studies that, Lord willing, will be scheduled soon. We had a return visitor on Sunday morning for the second week in a row. So far, she only comes for Bible class, but we have started sending her cards. We hope we can get to know her better soon. James and Karla are scheduled to go through Book 3 of Back to the Bible with Sherry on Tuesday. We pray she will continue to be receptive to the Lord’s teaching. We are also preparing to set up a booth at our local Fall Festival on October 10. On Sunday evening, we spent some time training and preparing for that work using John 4:35–38. We focused on three things Jesus teaches us about reaching those around us: See the People. See the opportunity. Do the work. We are thankful for the opportunities God continues to place before us. We appreciate all prayers as we seek to recognize opportunities, faithfully do the work, and watch the seed of God’s Word find good and receptive hearts.”

Washington Avenue church of Christ, Jonesboro, Arkansas: Parker Pribble (member) reports, “Brother Austin (preacher) wrapped up the Back to the Bibleseries of lessons this past Sunday. Both lessons focused on the contents of Book 3, which helps guide individuals to draw important conclusions about their spiritual condition, the consequences of sin, and the conditions for salvation. Once again, Austin covered each question and the corresponding Bible passages while the congregation filled out each answer for themselves. Following the evening service, volunteers from each card team met and filled out 90 cards for prospects. There were also two transition visits made this past week.”

Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “We continue to see evangelism victories in many different ways. This past Sunday, I was blessed to study with and baptize John Lerma. John grew up attending church, and his grandfather was even a preacher. Yet, like many people, he put baptism off for ‘later’—‘When I am out of the house. When I am out of the Navy. When I am married and have a family of my own.’ John shared that there was never a shortage of excuses. As the years passed, attending worship and pursuing his faith gradually took a backseat to what he described as ‘his plan.’ A few years ago, John began dating a woman with young children, and they first connected with our congregation through our annual Fall Festival. Over time, and coming to that event several years in a row, he felt an increasing conviction that he needed to return to church and take his relationship with God more seriously. Recently, that relationship ended, but John knew he still needed to change direction. Then, after hearing one of our One Gospel Minute radio broadcasts, he said to himself, ‘It is time.’ John came to worship Sunday morning and sought me out afterward. We spent some time studying together, but it quickly became clear that he already knew what he needed to do—he was simply finished making excuses. What a blessing it is to see God use so many different avenues of outreach. Seeds planted through events like our Fall Festival, faithful members, regular worship, and even a one-minute radio message all played a part in bringing John to this moment. We rejoice that another soul has chosen to follow Christ, and we are reminded that God can use every effort made in His service to bear fruit.”

Northside church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Larry Keener (elder) reports, “Northside in Harrison has two Bible studies at this time. We sent 11 cards. We will review transition visits and schedule new ones assigned on Wednesday. Our work groups are in full swing.”

Harrisburg church of Christ, Arkansas: Mark Weston (elder) reports, “We started the week off with Brock in a Gospel Meeting in Lynn, Arkansas. We are always excited when he is able to share the Gospel with other congregations. We certainly enjoy it when he speaks to us, so we know that he will uplift and bring the truth to others when he is away as well. We miss him when he is gone, but it gives us an opportunity for several of our elders and other men to step up and encourage our family here. Caleb Henry, one of our elders, has been one of those who has stepped up and really become more involved in the teaching roles. On September 20, he taught our Sunday morning auditorium class and did a wonderful job. His confidence is building, and I am certainly excited about his growth and development as an elder and a capable, confident teacher! I was able to bring the message Sunday morning, and I spoke on ‘What Is Keeping You from Obeying?’ The lesson was a simple plea for our non-Christians, as well as members, to realize that nothing is more important than the decision to come to obedience, whether that is baptism into the family of God or returning to a faithful relationship with God through repentance. I just wanted those present to understand that knowledge of the truth requires us to act on that knowledge. Other elders, Jason McGee and Bill Mears, as well as both deacons, Micah Tindall and Rockey Rapert, have also stepped up and assisted in Brock’s absence. Our entire leadership team is taking our roles as teachers and leaders very seriously. Even our other elder, Steve Whittingham, who struggles with his eyesight, has proven to be a rock in our eldership; he handles announcements, scripture readings, Lord’s Table Talks, and prayers. He also enjoys visiting our members and new contacts. He is a very capable teacher, though he cannot see well. He is very valuable to our leadership team! Whether our lessons on Sunday, September 20, had a direct bearing on the hearts of Rob and Debbie Owens does not really matter. The fact is, on Saturday morning, September 26, they had come to the decision that they wanted to obey the Gospel and did not want to wait any longer.  Following our men’s breakfast Saturday morning, several of us gathered at the building, and they were baptized into Christ! What a wonderful way to start off a blessed weekend! They have been visiting with us quite regularly for over two months now, and their hearts have been softened by the truth they have heard and understood in our Bible classes and sermons. We certainly rejoice with them in their decision to become Christians! We look forward to our walk with Christ side by side. Since we began our evangelism program in February, seven souls have been baptized into Christ. Jake Smith and Mandy Harbison were baptized in February, Kason Harris in May, Brittany Smith and Slade Smith in July, and Rob and Debbie Owens in September. We appreciate prayers for these new converts. May God give us the strength and wisdom to do our best to encourage them and keep them on a faithful path. Their journeys and new lives have just begun!”

Warrington church of Christ, Pensacola, Florida: Twayne Mobley (member) reports, “This is our first report. We completed our training seminar on Tuesday, September 22. On Wednesday, the leadership team met to discuss the seminar and start the checklist. Chris and I presented a lesson to the Wednesday evening class using the HTHSOE ‘Making It Operational’ PowerPoint slides. This also gave us an opportunity to explain the next steps and timeline. Chris and I have started reviewing the SOE website and have been working through the Introduction section of the website. I am almost finished with all the videos and materials in that section. Chris delivered his lesson on the ‘Parable of the Minas’ and did a great job. I think it hit home with the congregation. I transferred the ‘checklist’ to a spreadsheet that lets me track progress on the more phased items. I have also personalized our post-seminar survey and have shared a copy with the leadership team and Chris. Chris plans to email a copy to the congregation for their review prior to the lesson on Sunday. We will be filling those out very soon, and we are also working on our ‘Contacts’ bookmarks. As of this time, we have no metrics. Jeri and I are headed to Colorado Springs next Monday.”

Concord Street church of Christ, Orlando, Florida: Billy Dickson (evangelist) reports, “Please join us in praying for a new Bible study that has developed through one of our recently baptized members. One of our new sisters in Christ, who was baptized just a few weeks ago, has already begun sharing the Gospel with her family. She has arranged Bible studies with five of her relatives. We are especially encouraged to see a new convert already reaching out to others with the Gospel. We appreciate prayers for open hearts of these five family members. We pray they are receptive to God’s Word and that this study will lead to opportunities for further spiritual growth and obedience to the Gospel. We are thankful to see the work of evangelism multiplying as new Christians begin sharing what they have learned with those closest to them. We appreciate all prayers for our new converts, our ongoing Bible studies, and those we are seeking to reach with the Gospel.”

Oceanside church of Christ, Atlantic Beach, Florida: Wesley Green (chairman) reports, “We are making progress toward launching the HTHSOE program. We are creating a resource room to set up and organize the compassion cards. We purchased two TVs for training and advertising. More ushers and pew greeters have volunteered and will be trained in their respective positions. About nine women have volunteered to decorate the foyer. During Bible study, Victor presented the major responsibility roles to the congregation, explained who holds the positions on the Evangelism Model, and emphasized their importance.”

Milestone church of Christ, Cantonment, Florida: Randy Brantley (elder) reports, “We had two new visitors yesterday who were not able to stay and eat lunch with us, but they said they liked the service. We finished new movers training and are going to about 30 homes to give out new mover’s baskets this week.”

Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “This was the second week of our ‘Unashamed’ evangelism class. We talked about the mindset of a soul winner. As the class ended, we discussed how to apply what we are learning to our upcoming ‘Fall Festival.’ We are planning to incorporate a prospecting element by offering guided tours of our children’s Bible study area, which we call ‘Sonshine Parkway.’ We had several visitors on Sunday. Three families placed membership today. We started a new Bible study this week with a recent visitor. Two teams did follow-up visits this week. The church sent out 16 cards and had four Bible studies.”

Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “Our Teacher’s Steward met with all our Bible study teachers recently to confirm the number of volunteers we have available and to outline our goals. One goal is to encourage the teachers to assist with the transition visits. This will help streamline the process of getting a prospect into a study, especially if the prospect agrees to study at the time of the visit. We will also start holding regular meetings with the teachers to continue training and improve communication among the group. On a separate note, I traveled to World Video Bible School last week to finish recording a new set of videos for daily devotionals. It is titled ‘Forty Days on the Mountain,’ and we will be add it to the website that hosts the new convert series, ‘Your First Forty Days in the Wilderness.’ Lord willing, it will be available in the spring of 2027. Our current total 2026 Accountability Board numbers include 272 Contacts Received; 208 Neighbors (Prospects); 1,038 Compassion Cards sent; 44 Bible studies; two Restorations; and 13 Baptisms.”

Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “The Woodstock church of Christ (WCOC), is pleased to say that the singing devotion with the new living assistance facility was a high success. We had over 65 people (non-Christians and Christians). Our visit to the old living assistance facility had ten non-Christians in attendance for the worship devotion. This was also an outstanding turnout. The New Movers Group knocked on ten doors and made eight contacts. The compassion group sent out 15 compassion cards. At Sunday morning worship, we had two visitors. We conducted eleven Bible studies last week.”

Warner Robins church of Christ, Georgia: Damien Walker (evangelist) reports, “In our last transition team meeting, we had some favorable updates on some of the prospects we have in mind. One Bible study began with one of the couples on the transition team and a prospect. We have had some technical issues keeping up with visits that are being made – admittedly, we still need to grow in this area. More visits are happening than our accountability board shows, but we could still do more. However, some things are shifting in the dynamics at Warner Robins right now, so we petition prayers as we navigate changes. We do have some measures in place that will hopefully help our evangelism efforts.”

Cumming church of Christ, Georgia: Murphy O’Brien (member) reports, “Last week brought us one new contact, bringing the year’s total to 66. There were no new visitor information cards last week, keeping the year’s total at 19 visitors. Two visitor follow-ups were completed last week, for a year-to-date total of 59. Fifteen cards were sent out last week, bringing the yearly total to 692. There are currently 25 prospects. Three Bible studies were held last week, for a year-to-date total of 49. There were no baptisms last week, with the year’s total remaining at one.”

Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “We continue prospecting contacts from our Family and Friends Day. Transition visits will be made throughout the week. In a local Facebook group, I advertised our food pantry. This allowed me the opportunity to make more contacts that will lead to Bible studies. Another student enrolled in the HTHSOE Student Program. It is encouraging to meet so many Christians who desire to lead others to our Lord.”

Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “We had a good Sunday even though we had some members out of town. We had three visitors yesterday. One was from one of our supporters, and the other two were the children of one of our members. We are still working with prospects from our door-knocking event. It was terrible that the water for the whole city was out, and we need to get back to those folks. We are still working. We are also still in need of support. We appreciate any helpers who can come and work with us, or anyone who can contribute money for our work. Really, if you could do both, that would really help.”

Honolulu church of Christ, Hawaii: Tagiillima Esene (regional trainer) reports, “Aloha from the Honolulu congregation. Bible studies continue with five souls. For many years, our congregation has held baby shower events. This past Sunday we had a shower for a member of the body who recently gave birth to her baby girl. Her husband is not a member of the church. He comes from a Baptist background. He is now in a Bible study seeking to know more about the truth. This shower definitely showed him that the church cares for and loves his family. At this time, we have a total of seven baptisms for this year. We appreciate all prayers.”

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “This past week the weather cooled nicely. We mailed out 36 compassion cards. We conducted four Bible studies. I continue to send two mentor videos each week to new converts. We are gearing up for our food giveaway in October. Our clothing closet continues to produce contacts. We scheduled a Book 2 study with a couple. She has social anxiety. One of our sisters and I have conducted the previous study and visits. My study partner is scheduled to be out of town for our next study. I have another silent partner who will join me. Before the study, I contacted the couple to inform them of the change in study partners. I am glad I did. She rescheduled due to added anxiety because of the change in my study partner. As evangelists, we must pay close attention to our students. Gaining their trust is vital to continuing the study and conversions. We will go out tomorrow evening and deliver new mover baskets.”

Flatwoods church of Christ, Kentucky (remote): Nathan Adkins (elder) reports, “Our evangelism efforts continue. We have made more visits and sent more cards this past month than we have in several months. Yesterday, another soul was added to the Kingdom. His name is Randy. He has been coming regularly to our services for about a year now. His son Randal was baptized earlier this year. We now have eight baptisms this year. Praise the Lord!! We have no plans to slow down with our efforts, because each soul is so precious.”

Beloit church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dustin Doughtery (regional trainer) reports, “Our numbers were back up a little bit this last Sunday, from the previous two. We have almost finished the lesson with the second Believe the Biblebooklet; one more Sunday should do it. It has been great training the adult class and going over the material. Everyone has enjoyed it. A while back, I gave a copy of Muscle and a Shovel to a man at work; he is still working through it. I keep in touch so that when he is finished, we can move forward with other potential studies. We have our annual Gospel Meeting this week with B.J. Clarke as our guest speaker. We pray for his safe travels and travels for all those coming for the meeting. We pray for visitors from the area who might be receptive to the message. To God be the glory.”

15th Street church of Christ, Ottawa, Kansas (remote): Brady Altic (associate minister) reports, “We handed out 17 Bibles at the local car show and many bookmarks with our information on them. People who took advantage of our free Bibles seemed to be between 10 and 18 years old. We are going to try to focus more on this age with a monthly youth gathering. We are still trying to figure out exactly what that will look like. We are scheduled to hand out baskets to the addresses we received from HTH on September 7 and 11. We are hopeful that more members of our congregation will get involved with this. Clayton and I are still trying to have as many Bible studies as possible, and they are going well. We appreciate all prayers for our congregation to stay steadfast in this work for the Lord.”

Columbus church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Matt Fowler (member) reports, “We were blessed with good attendance on Sunday. Our New Converts’ classes continue to press forward through ‘Growing in Christ’, and we are having some great discussions. We are continuing evangelism training on Sunday afternoons; we are reviewing Believe the Bible. We have sent out 26 compassion cards this month. We are praying for doors to open for the Gospel. Keep sowing seed, brethren.”

Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (elder) reports, “This past week was a little slower. We are trying to continue a couple of studies, but getting the timing right is proving difficult. We will keep making the effort, though! We did take some time Sunday evening, after a sermon on hospitality, to make the application to hosting guests at next year’s AMC. We pray that many of our members will be praying about this and planning on helping us with the work and with being good hosts.”

Carriage Oaks church of Christ, Shreveport, Louisiana: Andrew Wynne (preacher) reports, “Last Wednesday, a young lady placed membership at Carriage Oaks. That brings us to three new members in just a few weeks. Compassion cards have become the norm, and we are still seeing great involvement in the effort. Today, I concluded Back to the Bible Book 2. We are moving along in our evangelism training and continuing to see very positive growth in the congregation. We appreciate all prayers for our efforts.”

Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: Ben Vallery (deacon) reports, “We have sent a total of 37 cards this month to a combination of those who have visited with us, along with a family of prospects. This family visited with us Sunday, and we look forward to them continuing with us. We made three follow-up visits this past week, along with several new-mover baskets delivered. During the recent door-knocking Saturday, we knocked a total of 329 doors in our community.”

La Plata church of Christ, Maryland: Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “Our congregation at the La Plata church of Christ had another encouraging and productive week. We wrote 36 compassion cards and were blessed to welcome five visitors. Our transition visits team continues to visit prospects and coordinate the delivery of 25 transition gifts. We currently have five open Bible studies. We appreciate all prayers as we strive to share the Gospel and serve our community.”

Waldorf church of Christ, Maryland: Joseph Day (member) reports, “We had one visitor on Sunday. Next week, we are starting a Spanish worship service. During the March AMC event, we had many visitors that only spoke Spanish. We appreciate all prayers for this mission work, and for many lost souls who can be saved. ¡Mochas gracias!”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “We had a RESTORATION this Sunday! She came forward to ask for prayers in her faith, and we are very proud of her. We had a great door-knocking day this past Saturday! We had enough people for five teams of three or four people. We assigned them different talking points. One team had new movers; another team had Friends & Neighbors Day invites; another team had the Open Forum invites; and one more team asked for feedback on the HTHHTH magazine that we have been sending out for years. The last team asked around for addresses and names of people who could use some compassion cards from the church. We knocked on 165 doors. We gathered 55 contact cards, which is a 33 percent success rate. I told them 20 percent was considered good and above average, so they were determined to do better! After door knocking, we all ate together at the church building and had a new set of people come in at 1:00 p.m. to write cards from all the contact cards we got. We sent out 140 cards. It was a great day! This coming Sunday is one of the Friends and Neighbors Days, so we appreciate prayers for bringing us visitors!”

Fulton church of Christ, Mississippi: Richard Comer (member) reports, “We continue to send about 20 cards per week. We knocked on a door to invite the family to our Trunk-or-Treat on October 11. Others are using Facebook to invite people to the event. We had two baptisms on Saturday. It was a husband and wife with whom I had been studying with for several months. We have one ongoing Bible study.”

Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Terry Hale (member), “We are having a very successful study with Mike. He is seeing what God’s condition for salvation is, and he seems to understand and be thankful for the prayers. We had two visitors yesterday who said they were definitely coming back. We will be writing cards for them this week. We had a very good week of training new converts, training teachers, and doing personal one-on-one studies with a couple of our new converts. We also have another study that just started with Emma, who has been coming to church, and she is very excited to be in the study.”

East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “We had three visitors this past Lord’s Day. We are thankful to God; by His grace, we were able to participate in the annual door-knocking event. We had 11 members present, knocked on 96 doors, and left or gave 90 House-to-House publications to individuals. We talked with 26 people; we received three contacts. Our metrics thus far through and for September are three baptisms, 14 visitors, and 46 contacts. We appreciate all prayers.”

Glendale Street church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina (remote): Dayle Taylor (minister) reports, “Prospects: We were blessed this Sunday with two returning visitors. One attended Bible study, and both attended worship. One visitor has now attended worship for three consecutive weeks and is the husband of a restored member. In addition, we continue studies in Does It Matter? with a prospect who completed BTTB and requested further study. Revisiting topics previously discussed in BTTB may provide an opportunity to reinforce the lessons and deepen understanding. New Converts / Restored Members: Some of our new converts attended Bible study and worship this week (September 27). We appreciate all prayers for these young babes in Christ; we do not want them to be drawn away by the cares of this world. We remain committed to encouraging and strengthening them as we work to ‘shut the back door.’ Two members who were previously restored continue to struggle with attendance. One attended Sunday, while we have not yet been able to reach the other. We will continue our efforts to make contact, offer encouragement, and strengthen them in their walk with Christ.”

Guymon church of Christ, Oklahoma: David Henderson (elder) reports, “We had four visitors, not including family guests. We mailed numerous cards and made seven visits. We are currently doing five Bible studies. Someone connected with us on Facebook and then showed up for Monday night Bible study and seemed very interested. Door knocking went well Saturday in Goodwell, and we sent 24 cards to prospects. We received a beautiful rain; spirits are high. God is GREAT.”

Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Goodwell, Oklahoma: Raoul Ferris (evangelist) reports, “We accomplished our first door-knocking training. We were blessed to have four teams, and from that we made three contacts. One of the contacts is both newlywed and new movers. Isaiah and Isaac are connected with them by bringing them brownies and cleaning supplies. We were blessed to be able to finish Book 1 with Shawn this week. He enjoyed the study, and we are scheduled for Thursday of next week. Our ladies’ Bible study has had a steady 12 in attendance each week. We will be assisting the church in Beaver, Oklahoma, with door-knocking this coming Saturday.”

Grove church of Christ, Oklahoma: Juan Jarmillo (preacher) reports, “This past week went very well. One of our young members and I had a Bible study with two of his friends. This was a follow-up to the one we had last week. The study went well. We did Does It Matter? and we were able to get up to ‘Does it matter what name we bear?’ before his friend had to go. It was a lot of information, so it was a good time to stop. We have a Bible study set for next Saturday as well, where we will discuss sin and salvation; we appreciate prayers for that study. We also wrote compassion cards to three prospects. We also began our new convert studies! We had two new converts and two members to encourage! We hope these studies will prove edifying for all who attend!”

New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) reports, “Our Gospel Meeting began on Sunday. We had a few visitors, one of whom stayed for our potluck (she is recently widowed and looking for a new church home). She, as well as our other visitors, received a welcome gift, and we added them to our card ministry. Jen, who obeyed the Gospel a week ago, was given her new Apologetics Press Study Bible and baptismal certificate, and she also has begun attending our New Convert’s class.”

Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “No new visitors this past Sunday, but we obtained one new contact card from last Wednesday Bible study. We sent 48 compassion cards. October 25 will be our first ‘Impact Sunday,’ and we are hoping to get more of the congregation involved. We will have nearly 50 new-mover baskets to deliver. We are hoping to generate a lot of contacts from this effort.”

Owasso church of Christ, Oklahoma: David Combs (elder) reports, “This week we had three new visitors, and 18 cards were written by 15 card writers. We had six visitors in September. We had four prospects, and made six transition visits. We have also sent 216 cards and had eight Bible studies.”

Barnes church of Christ, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: John Bellah (member) reports, “Our news week began on Friday with the baptism of Laurie, who had studied with Randy and Cheryl Warner and Preston Stubblefield. It was wonderful to have her with us on her first Sunday as a member of the Lord’s church. Our current totals since January 1 include 526 cards sent, 24 Bible studies, and six baptisms. We are encouraged as we see souls being saved.”

York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “This past week in York, we followed up on some of our prospects with phone calls and visits. We received some prayer requests and benevolence requests. We also received some promises of return visits in the near future. On Sunday morning, we prayed congregationally for our evangelism work. From the pulpit, we also thanked those who are helping with the work, ranging from making donations and assembling gift bags to praying, writing cards, and making visits and calls. We did not have any new visitors this week, but we sent more cards to recent visitors, and we encouraged members to invite prospects to our various congregational events. We will have our monthly evangelism meeting next Sunday morning after services.”

Saint Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (minister) reports, “Our congregation wrote 64 compassion cards this past Sunday. We held a training session for our transition visit teams and have scheduled a time to make some transition visits. We also have a Bible study scheduled for this coming week. A couple was added to our door greeter team.”

Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “Our work continues to go very well. We are mailing out more compassion cards and are making plans to do a large-scale mailing for our upcoming Gospel Meeting in November. We still have some Bible studies that are pending, and we pray we can set those up very soon. We give God the glory.”

West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “We are still in a bit of a rebuild mode in getting everything together with prospects and contacts, but we have not ever stopped sending cards and having a list. We are looking currently at those we need to visit and are looking forward to the hopes of getting some Bible studies.”

Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “The wife of one of our elders is in the midst of a Bible study with one of our recent contacts from our backpack giveaway and school supply giveaway. We continue to be blessed with several visitors from our community, one of whom has expressed a desire to be baptized. We pray that this will happen very soon, and that he will be added to the church here at Hillcrest.”

Southern Hills church of Christ, Franklin, Tennessee: Freddie Klein (preacher) reports, “We have received our second WVBS Bible study request through our online request form. This is an encouraging sign that our online presence is providing another avenue for people to seek out a Bible study. We are thankful for every opportunity to connect someone with the truth of God’s Word. Our New Movers outreach is also continuing to develop. Now that several members have been trained, many have made their first visits to new movers in our community. After Sunday morning worship, I also shared another way we can use the mugs and information we are giving to new movers. Each member can look for signs of new neighbors moving into their area. When you see someone new, stop by, introduce yourself, and give them a mug along with information about the Lord’s church. It does not have to be complicated. A smile and a friendly welcome can go a long way. We never know what a simple introduction may lead to, but we can make ourselves available and give people an opportunity to learn more about the Lord and His church.”

Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (evangelist) reports, “As of September 27, we have seven active Bible studies. We are also hopeful about beginning a third study with Jonathan and Latanya soon. This week, we identified seven prospects, sent 25 cards, and delivered nine baskets. Year to date, we have welcomed 46 new visitors, sent 967 cards, made seven visits, recorded 72 prospects, and delivered 77 baskets. We have had nine Bible studies and no baptisms so far this year. We are grateful for these opportunities and looking forward to seeing how the upcoming study with Jonathan and Latanya develops.”

White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “A small group of members did transition visits Thursday night. We will be switching to Sunday afternoon for fall and winter. We are sending out 160 cards this week. We had 30+ visitors, and two families were taken to lunch.”

Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Daniel Burton (member) reports, “We currently have eight prospects receiving cards. One of those is someone we honestly did not think would come back after visiting, yet this person continues to return. One reason may be because of the cards received from our congregation. It is a good reminder that we never need to write someone off. The Cookeville congregation is also heavy-hearted over the passing of our brother Michael Tripp. Just nine months ago, Michael lost his wife Sarah after her battle with cancer. They leave behind two children who continue to stand firm in the faith. Michael could have given many understandable reasons why he could not be evangelistic, but he never did. He loved the Lord and has now received his reward. Michael and I sat together at church, and every time it was his turn to write cards, he returned them with a smile. He never complained and never made an excuse. Truthfully, he was a man of hard work and few words. He simply did what he knew he should do. His example reminds us all. Whatever we may be facing, there is still someone we can point toward Christ. Please continue praying for Michael’s children and family.”

Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “This past Saturday we had an answer to many prayers. One of our young adult men made the decision to put on Christ. Many have had studies and conversations with him over the years, but he did not see the need to be baptized, having had a previous experience at a denomination group. After a recent study of Acts 18 and 19, he became convicted to obey the Gospel. It is certainly great to be able to call him brother. Praise be to God!”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “The comprehensive cost of discipleship is frequently underestimated at the point of conversion. As documented in the New Testament, certain early followers of Christ withdrew when the perceived requirements of discipleship became burdensome. This pattern has also appeared in our Keepers process. We continue to engage individuals outside of Christ—including those lacking a Biblical worldview or those who assume God’s primary objective is to guarantee personal love and happiness on individual terms. Such results can be discouraging, especially when the individual has been active within the congregation. Nevertheless, we remain committed to the conviction that we have planted the seed of truth; each person exercises free will, and, God willing, each may return to Christ.”

Rivergate church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “On Wednesday night we had two visitors. On Sunday morning we had six visitors. One visitor went to lunch. Sunday night we had two visitors. On Wednesday night, a man came forward asking for prayers for forgiveness. Two visits were made.”

Birdwell Chapel church of Christ, Cottontown, Tennessee: Kerry England (elder) reports, “On Sunday morning, Dale Byrum, a missionary who works in the Philippines, gave us a report on that work during Sunday school. Then he preached a lesson on evangelism from Acts 17:6 called, ‘Turning the World Upside Down.’ It was very practical on how the early church prepared themselves, and everyone was involved in evangelism after being scattered from Jerusalem by persecution. It reinforced what we have learned from the School of Evangelism! Several visitors attended Sunday morning. Also, a couple who have been worshipping with us for a while expressed their desire to place membership!”

Big Spring church of Christ, Texas:  Jesse Stuart (preacher) reports, “House-to-House Mailout and Bible Studies: We used a House-to-House mailout for the first time. Within two days, three people responded. Two community members saw the advertisement on the back for our class at Howard College and came to the class. A woman named Ruth called the church office and asked to receive House to House every week. When we visited her, we explained that the publication is not mailed weekly but offered to study the Bible with her each week. She agreed. We began Book One of Back to the Bible with Ruth and plan to return this coming week. We also studied with Savanna and Abie. They began Book Two of Back to the Bible this week, and we plan to finish it next week. Howard College Outreach: The college asked us to lead Meet You at the Pole. Alex led the prayer, and Andy gave the devotional. Afterward, a student named Amina asked for a Bible study, which we arranged. Congregational Evangelism Training:  We are continuing to teach according to our evangelism training schedule. This past Sunday, we introduced the evangelism bookmark and showed members how to begin using it. Sunday Visitors and Follow Up:  On Sunday, Reagan asked for a ride for herself and her four children. They also brought a friend. We arranged for one of our elders and his wife to take them out to lunch and ask the three questions since they have been getting cards for a few weeks. Reagan agreed to a Bible study, and they will begin Book One this coming week. We were blessed with two additional visitors on Sunday, whom we added to our compassion cards prospect list for follow-up. Plans for the Coming Week: Return to Ruth for the next study in Book One. Finish Book Two with Savanna and Abie. Begin the arranged Bible study with Amina. Begin Bible study with Reagan Foley. Follow up with the two visitors through compassion cards and continue building relationships with those who came through the mailout and college class.”

Burkburnett church of Christ, Texas: Jamie Beller (preacher) reports, “On Sunday, September 27, 2026, we had three visitors from the community. Our Bible class focused on working together for the ‘Faith of the Gospel’ from Philippians 1, while the Sunday morning sermon focused on the ‘Parable of the Talents.’ Our Wednesday men’s class is focused on training others to teach while also addressing leadership and evangelism. Bible studies: three, Contacts: 20, Prospects: 15, Cards Sent: 45. These include cards to visitors, congregations, and bereaved.”

Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Koide Martin (evangelist) reports, “We had another great day yesterday. A young family visited; meal invitations were extended, and positive interactions were made with them. We also passed out three New Mover baskets and made several contacts with people in our community. Additionally, this Wednesday will be our Fifth Wednesday service, and we will be dedicating it to prayer for the evangelism program, for our contacts/prospects, and for encouraging each other to put our hands to the work. We will also have Keno Shrum with us beginning this upcoming Sunday to re-emphasize many of the points in the program and re-energize us in the work.”

Vidor church of Christ, Texas: Johnie Scaggs (preacher) reports, “We started our program this past week. I preached the first sermon on the parable of the Talents from Matthew 25:14-30. It went very well. We also passed out the post-evangelism seminar questionnaires and had a very good response. Also, we passed out ‘Who Is My Neighbor,’ encouraging families to list ten new families that we might pray for or look to for needs in the future. We received our cards, which we will hand out next Sunday. Some also signed up with Brother Will to organize the post-evangelism seminar questionnaires so the elders can use members in different areas of service. We have had two visitors and their families, and we are going to be sending them cards soon. We appreciate all prayers for our efforts.”

Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “A young man was baptized during morning worship yesterday! I had studied with him a couple of years ago, and he had been studying with others about it more recently. I am teaching the high school class this Sunday, and I plan to talk about baptism with the young man about his thoughts on baptism again.”

San Saba church of Christ, Texas: Justin Bell (preacher) reports, “Things are going great here in San Saba. We currently have two ongoing Bible studies, eight prospects, and three transition visits to make this week. We are currently working very closely with a recent young widow who just lost her husband two weeks ago, and we remain hopeful that some fruit will bear from those efforts.”

Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Rob McNicol (elder) reports, “We are currently involved in three Bible studies with four individuals. We are preparing for our Gospel Meeting with Kevin Cauley for October 18-21, ‘Transforming into the Image of Christ.’ We will be door-knocking October 10 in preparation.”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “We had several visitors to our services Sunday. Phan (or Skip) has moved here from the Philippines. It was a real adventure he had getting over here. He is now living in Katy and training to be a barber. He was very receptive, and I am trying to find a time that he can study. Dwanat came after our services were over. She has just moved here and is a member of the church. Both of them stayed and ate lunch with us at our potluck. We also had Earl visiting with us again yesterday. He stayed and ate with us also. We pray that these will continue to come and be a part of our congregation. Wade and his wife Jennifer returned from West Virginia, where he held a six-day meeting. The brethren there were encouraged and excited to hear the word of God.”

Whitehouse church of Christ, Texas: Cody Stewart (evangelist) reports, “This past Sunday the lesson on the Evangelism Table was given. We are training and equipping the members with the tools they will need to reach the lost in our community, and we will have those available at two locations in our building that are checked weekly to replenish our stock. Today, the assignments for the compassion card teams were posted, and the members were notified when they will be meeting. Team 1 starts next week writing cards to the names currently on our prospect list. This includes three new visiting families who attended on Sunday. We now have four ongoing Bible studies.”

Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “Since almost the beginning of the year, we decided to emphasize our new converts. The truth be told, multiple have fallen away in some way. With that being the case, we have spent a lot of time and energy on this area. That does not mean that we totally stopped looking for souls to teach. However, recently we have started refocusing on that aspect of evangelism. We have multiple prospects to reach out to with the Gospel, and we are studying with six souls. In the second book of the Bible study, two of them wanted to know what the word of God says about living together in a non-marital relationship. That being said, we studied with them, and they decided to get their marriage certificate this week and be married by the end of it. Lord willing, we will study Book 3 with them Saturday, and they will be baptized.”

North Jefferson church of Christ, Mount Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (associate minister) reports, “Reach Team 1 met on Sunday and wrote 57 cards. This past week, I was unable to study with Nathali (schedule conflict) and Zamya (illness), but I began Book 1 with Joe on Sunday, and it went really well! One of our visitor teams took out a visitor to lunch yesterday, and when the visitor was asked if she attended anywhere, she said, ‘I guess with y’all now!’ I am working to set up a study with her—our visitor teams are still learning how to make the transition to a study.”

Abingdon church of Christ, Virginia: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “At Abingdon, we have three compassion card teams. Each of the first three weeks of the month, one of those teams meets to prepare and compose cards to send out for the week. To date, we have sent out over 1300 cards this year. This Sunday, the elder who did our welcome at the beginning of our service did a wonderful job of emphasizing the impact of these cards and asking everyone to be involved in this great work. But this Sunday was the fourth Sunday of the month. On that week each month, our elders have organized a youth function; the kids get five packs per month of the Discovery cards produced by Apologetics Press. They then swap and exchange duplicate cards as they try to complete the full set. I believe this to be as important as the card writing program. These kids and their parents (sometimes grandparents) work together to learn about the cards. They are getting used to the idea of assembling together outside of the worship services for a fun and edifying event. I believe this effort will pay eternal dividends. To God be the glory!”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “Williamsburg church of Christ had a very active week in evangelism this week. God blessed us Tuesday evening by adding to His church. A young man had just graduated high school. He had been attending with his grandmother, and he was baptized. A faithful brother who sits beside him each week led his Bible study. That faithful brother also baptized him. About 20 brothers and sisters came out to encourage the new Christian. Following the baptism, we delivered a freezer to a single mother with teen twins. She had been diagnosed with cancer and was very concerned about being able to have food prepared for her girls. On Saturday, we knocked on 32 doors and got three contacts. We also assisted with prayers; we will follow up with assistance for one, and another contact committed to attend Wednesday evening. Praise God for the opportunities He provides and those whom He adds to His church.”

West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “Our ‘Build-a-Bed’ event this past Saturday was a labor of love and encouragement! More than 50 of our members, plus another dozen or so from Sleep in Heavenly Peace and the local area, sanded, drilled, stamped, and stained 30 beds for children in need in our community. Everyone displayed so much joy and enthusiasm that morning. We look forward to having the opportunity to deliver the beds to the families in need, showing love and compassion from the West Side family. We pray for open hearts that will allow us to share the message of The Source from which this love comes.”
