House to House/Heart to Heart is a multi-front approach to evangelism. Most HTH tools are designed to reach non-Christians. We are adding a tool designed to reach unfaithful members. Those who once sat among us are greatly loved and missed. As we seek to reach those who never sat among us, we cannot forget about our family and friends who have been lured away by the Evil One. The special edition of HTH designed to bring these Prodigals home contains these articles.

• Come Home to the God Who Runs is the featured article written by Allen Webster. I never realized how significant the running of the Father to the Son was until I read it. It is a heart-felt article that will no doubt touch some of those who have wandered away from home.
• A List of Those Who Did It on Their Own is a reminder that everyone needs someone. Matt Wallin skillfully reminds the unfaithful about how Jesus received help from the Father and how that help is still available today.
• Is It Safe to Come Home? reminds the unfaithful of the peace and safety in the local church.
• Father, Forgive Them is intended to bring to their memory the desire of God and His people to forgive their unfaithfulness. We want to be like Jesus and offer what He offered on the cross.
• How to Come Home is on the back page, which is the first thing people will see when they open their mailbox. This explains that this issue is a love letter from the local church and an invitation to come home. It provides seven steps on the road back to the Father. It is not as hard as many think. The road was paved by the Son. There are open arms and a church running to meet you.

This magazine contains additional articles, illustrations, and free literature/video offers to bring our loved ones back. It is time to combine our prayers for the unfaithful with action. What can you do?

We will mass mail copies for you like we normally do. We want to do that because that is the only way to catch all former members from different congregations who have moved to town, unbeknownst to the local church, or whom have been forgotten over the years. We will keep it generic enough that anyone who has left religion in general can be reached, but it will be specific enough with certain things that former members of the church will recognize.

You can also send us addresses you want to reach, even those that live outside of your HTH mailing area, so we can reach all of your former members!

• Obtain extra copies of the special restoration edition.
• Make a list of all the unfaithful you want to reach.
• Hand deliver an extra copy to each one.
• Place copies on your evangelism table for members to reach the prodigals they know.
• Preach a sermon on this topic and follow it with an actionable strategy by using this tool.
• Send Compassion Cards by the bucket load to the unfaithful to demonstrate your love.
• Pray fervently for their return.
• Be ready to run and greet them with open arms.

“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:1-2).
