A Congregational Conversion
Written by Dennis Mays (Elder)

This past week, we celebrated the baptism of a young lady who has two young children. She had been invited to worship with us by one of our members who works with her. She had been coming with her sister regularly. When asked if she would like to study the Bible, she agreed and was excited to proceed. She had begun studying with our minister and one of our older sisters. When our minister became ill, this sister took over the study with her. The two women became close as they studied together, and this lady will ensure that her new sister will grow in Christ. She will be a great mentor.

Last week, this young lady told her she wanted and needed to be baptized. They called one of our elders, who came to the building and baptized her. They reported that she was a very excited young lady to be one of God’s children as well as our new sister. She told them she wants to continue studying the Bible. She was raised as a Catholic. She told our older sister that she had never had many friends nor was she close to many in her family. This sister told her after her baptism that she was now a part of our family and that she would find us to be loving and friendly. This sister called her later and asked her how her mother reacted to the news of her baptism. Her mother was happy for her. We hope to reach out to her mother and identify a potential new prospect in the near future. This is a great example of the entire congregation working together as a team to bring this young woman to know Christ.

Last Sunday, we wrote 44 compassion cards. We had three visitors, too. This was the first week that our congregation had a transition list. There were six names on it. The elders are teaming up with members who had placed them on the Compassion Card list. We are meeting with them to arrange a visit. We have decided to bring them a small gift when we go on the visit. After we closed out a truncated Sunday evening worship with a prayer, the elder who began training Back to the Bible Book 2 last week continued his training this week. During this training session, when a Bible verse is identified, the elder will randomly call on a different member of the congregation to read the passage. We want to ensure the congregation understands the importance of allowing the person who is being taught the Gospel is the one who is reading directly from the Bible.

Congregational Reports

Welcome Harrisburg church of Christ: We want to welcome the Harrisburg church of Christ to the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism.  The attendance at this training event was incredible.  The elders aid almost 100% of the members came.  They have an all the pieces in place.  Their preacher, “Brock” has a soul winning heart.  Their elders are laser focused.  The members are full of kindness and a willingness to work.  We look forward to our work together to save souls.”

Glencoe church of Christ, Alabama: Keith Ritchie (evangelist) reports, “The Glencoe congregation had a wonderful and busy weekend. We also had visitors on Sunday morning which means more contacts for us. After one of our visitors asked some Bible questions a Bible study was set up. We currently have two ongoing Bible studies. We are planning another meeting for this Sunday with our evangelism coordinators. Some adjustments will be made to add more workers. Lord willing, we will continue to sow, grow, and glow. To God be the glory!”

Fayette church of Christ, Alabama: Josh Taylor (deacon) reports, “We are planning our gift baskets and meals to provide to our prospects and look forward to planting the seed in the hearts of these souls. Please pray that these efforts will be fruitful! May God be glorified through our efforts.”

Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “We rejoice over the rededication of Aaron this week! We keep on plowing forward with great opportunities. We currently have ten names on our Compassion Card list, and half of them are contacts from our friends’ night the youth had a few weeks ago. We believe we will gain more from this. We also sent cards to the family of Jaiden, one of our recent converts. There is a lady in the community we recently helped by giving her a mattress, and the ladies are helping her get some clothes this week that she can wear to church. She really wants to worship with us, and we believe this will also lead to a study. To God be the glory!”

Central church of Christ, Saraland, Alabama: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “This week, we renewed our Evangelism Focus at the beginning of each Sunday morning assembly. Instead of just emphasizing the Bookmark, we are now intentionally asking if anyone in the congregation has names to move from the Bookmark to a Contact Card. We are making the Contact Cards visible and keeping them within reach so the members understand almost instinctively the process of transferring from prospect to contact. Since this was our first week doing it this way, we only had one name suggested, and it came from an elder. Moving forward, we expect this to be more effective for us in obtaining contacts. We realize we probably should have been doing it this way all along, but time and experience are the best teachers. Now we expect to acquire contacts consistently from members. Additionally, we changed from a team-based card-writing effort to making that a weekly activity for anyone who is present on Sunday evenings. This way, the cards get more signatures, and they get sent out in a more timely manner. We believe this will help us to have a better understanding of these stages of the process for now. Then we can work on improving our abilities to get Bible studies from our contacts. Another encouraging event from this week happened when a member tagged me in a local public Facebook post, and an anonymous individual was looking for a Bible study group. I replied with my availability and desire, but have not heard directly from this individual yet. But it served the purpose of revealing the opportunities that our members have access to in this way. I try to be as active, open, and available as possible on social media, but I do not see every post. I plan to encourage all our members to be vigilant for such posts.”

Petersville church of Christ, Florence, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “We sent 36 compassion cards last week. We had a vision workshop to help everyone in the congregation ‘get on board’ with common ideals for who we are as a church family and what we can do to accomplish God’s plans in our area. In one exercise, each group emphasized the importance of sharing the Gospel with the community. We had three visitors at morning worship for the first time, and we will follow up with their contact information this week. We have had a couple here for some time who has a very unique background. She is in her early 20s and left/was kicked out of a cult in Texas. He is in his early 30s, a disabled veteran who has been an atheist for most of his adult life. We have been unpacking their story and trying to show them love for a couple of months. Compassion cards have been a huge part of that ministry!! They were baptized at the local megachurch some time ago and have not really questioned it, even when we have studied the subject. But today he told me he has been reading, and something just does not sit right about what they did. So we are going to have another study, and I think it will get them over the top. The whole process has been worthwhile by showing signs of progress all along. Some take longer than others!”

Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “One Bible study is going on right now. Compassion cards continue to be written each week. We have had a lot of visitors recently, including one couple who went forward after a service last week. They have been added to the compassion card list. We are hosting an area-wide lectureship series next week, and we are hoping that it brings in some visitors and also strengthens the church here in Mobile. There is a February meeting for new movers this week as well.”

Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Josh Halloway (preacher) reports, “We have sent 216 cards so far in February and 4,350 since we began the program. We are setting up and working toward building ramps as a benevolence project for a prospect. We are also planning for an evangelistic VBS. We conducted five transition visits this past week. Three of our transition visits have started attending with us regularly, and one has begun regular studies. We still have four regularly scheduled studies. In one of those studies, a man named Michael got to the point of obeying the Gospel this week. He thought that he was baptized for the remission of sins. We called the church where he formerly attended. No one would give him a straight answer. We had Al review videos from the church’s website along with their statement of faith to demonstrate that they do not teach baptism correctly. He has not obeyed yet, but I think he will soon. Another study with Mrs. Casheria came to that point as well. She assured me that she was baptized for the proper reason, as she grew up in the church years ago. By the end of the study, she said that the church of Christ was God’s true church. So now we are studying attendance and what she needs to do going forward.”

Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “Reality check: sometimes evangelism ministry gets unintentionally interrupted. That was the case for us, as our building was shut down for the entire week due to new insulation being blown into the attic. It threw off all of our coordinators’ and team’s plans, but we will regroup this week and refocus on prospects, visitations, and setting up Bible studies! Our total 2026 Accountability Board numbers are: 41 Contacts Received; 31 Neighbors (Prospects); 168 Compassion Cards sent; four Bible studies; one Restoration, and three Baptisms.”

Milestone church of Christ, Cantonment, Florida: Randy Brantley (elder) reports, “We had five visitors; two are nonmembers, and one is an erring member. We had one Bible study and finished Book 2 in Back to the Bible. The Bible study is looking promising. We wrote 151 cards to be mailed this week.”

Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Tom Neth (deacon) reports, “We are seeing some amazing growth! We are so blessed by the hard work everyone is putting in, and it is really starting to show. Growing Numbers: Our weekly attendance is up by 10 percent! Full Pews: We had over 15 visitors this past Sunday. It is so encouraging to see God bringing new faces through our doors. Special Homecomings: We were also overjoyed to have three prodigals join us for worship. Reaching Out: Our card-writing ministry is thriving, with 300 cards sent each week. Members handed in eight new names to pray for on Sunday—all on their own! God is definitely at work here, and the energy in our church is better than ever.”

Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “This week we sent ten cards. We had five visitors on Sunday. On Sunday night, we had about 20 people meet to write cards for our Friend Day coming up Sunday, February 22. We prepared an estimated 125 cards for that work. We had two studies this week. We reconnected with a young lady whom we had been studying with, and she came back to church on Sunday. Future studies are planned. We are preparing a “Greeter” training meeting and working on other leadership-related needs.”

Warner Robins church of Christ, Georgia: Damien Walker (evangelist) reports, “We have been making sure that all of our visitors are accounted for, and that we get their information. This past Sunday, we heard a powerful lesson about the decline of church membership and how we all have an important role to play in bringing souls to Christ. In conjunction with that, we re-introduced Contact Cards, showing the brethren “the pipeline” (from their list of 10 to our congregational list), and we challenged them to give us one contact each. We did not get one from everybody on Sunday, but we did get several. So we are seeing motion. Our upstairs evangelism essentials table was out of green BTTBs after services (likely 20-30 were taken). It seems like the brethren are starting to get it. We appreciate all prayers for our continued implementation.”

Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “For the week of February 8-14, we sent out 12 compassion cards to our six new prospects. We have 18 prospects that we carried over from 2025 for a total of 24; we continue to build relationships with them by scheduling visits and working toward beginning Bible studies. We did manage to make one visit this week; four other visits were attempted, but were either cancelled or unavailable. We began tracking our relationship-building efforts, using a congregational view of contact across all channels. We will give a monthly report of how that effort and data collection proceed on the first of March.”

Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “We grow toward being a soul-saving machine. I have no desire to move, but I have been looking for someone who could ‘take my place.’ I approached two brothers in Christ concerning further training, and both are excited to get started.”

Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “WCOC and the Sunabella Assistant Living Facility devotional had approximately six non-Christians at the devotional on Sunday. The HTH Door Knocking campaign knocked on 62 doors, and 11 were contacted. The Prison Ministry Group is working to meet with Hillcrest church of Christ to discuss the process to support Christian Growth and make the transition from jail life to civilization for local detention centers. We are also supporting Bible studies at a DeKalb County Youth Center. The Compassion Card Group created and sent 14 cards. WCOC had three Bible studies and three baptisms (one from the Sunbella Assistant Living Facility).”

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “We mailed 118 compassion cards. We conducted three studies. This coming week, we have six studies scheduled. The challenge is actually conducting the studies; illness or other things may lead to the student canceling the study. I continue to study one-on-one in the Acts workbook with Ron every Tuesday. We have been studying for 16 weeks. Every Monday, I send out two videos to new converts. Our New Christians class continues. We made 14 new mover’s visits, and four were home. We made three follow-up visits; one was at home. They have agreed to a study. One lady we followed up with had “No Soliciting” on her door, but she invited us in. She was reading an HTH that we had mailed. She has attended two Wednesday afternoon Bible classes. She has agreed to learn more about the church. As long as there are lost souls, the Lord’s church has work to do!”

Judah church of Christ, Indiana:  Joe Moon (preacher) reports, “We had a couple of visitors last week.  We received a contact card, but we have not yet scheduled a follow-up visit or sent any cards.”

Beloit church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dustin Doughtery (regional trainer) reports, “This last Sunday, I was with the congregation in Ransom, Kansas. I always enjoy my trips to be with them. On Wednesday, we had our first organic visitor from House to House. She had recently moved to Beloit, and she said we were the only church that sent her a card, so that is why she came. I gave her one of our visitor gifts and took her information down at the conclusion of class. She attended yesterday morning again, so she is a solid contact. We will begin prospecting and getting to know her. To God be the glory.”

Columbus church of Christ, Kansas: Matt Fowler (member) reports, “We have several new converts, and we discussed continuing their education through the classes, as well as the encouragement needed to keep them in the fold. A challenge was issued to hand out at least one more invitation card this week and to reach out to a new convert with encouragement.”

Madisonville church of Christ, Kentucky: Russell Kline (preacher) reports, “We had our first study with the man I mentioned last week. It went very well. The second study is set for this Saturday. We are using Back to the Bible.

Spring Creek church of Christ, Hickory, Kentucky: David Morse (elder) reports, “Rejoice with us as two new souls were added to the Lord’s kingdom this past week. Our congregation of 70 (including young children) has witnessed five baptisms as a result of Bible studies from people outside of our congregation in the past three and a half months. This past Saturday, the men of our congregation cooked a Valentine’s Day breakfast for the ladies. We invited several of the “new movers” from our area to join us. We were encouraged to have one new family from the area join us. We have been sending this family compassion cards and delivered a ‘New Mover’ basket to them. Our leadership group continues to meet each Wednesday. Our Compassion Card groups meet each Sunday. Our numbers for the week include the following:  Visitors – 15, Prospects – 25, Cards Written – 1,577, Current Bible Studies – 3, Baptisms – 5, Baptism Goal This Year – 7.”

Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (preacher) reports, “Two will have studies this week. We were blessed with one guest on Sunday who is new to our community; she visited due to our new mover work. We will be following up with her this week as well. Things have been somewhat slow over the last few weeks, but we continue to strive to reach the lost in our area, and we trust that God will give the increase as we plant and water.”

Flatwoods church of Christ, Kentucky: Nathan Adkins (elder) reports, “A family made a return visit. They stayed after services and spoke with several of us. On Saturday night, we held Bible study number three with a couple. They are planning to be married and baptized this week. May the Lord help us to help them. Our preacher had a great study on Sunday afternoon, and we believe that the older gentleman he studied with will be baptized soon. We had nine visitors yesterday, and our attendance was up as well. We sent out three cards; we need more contacts.”

Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: Ben Vallery (member) reports, “We had 13 visitors last week. We made two transition visits. We signed 21 compassion cards. We currently have 15 prospects on our list. Our evangelism team is engaged in five Bible studies. This year we have already had three baptisms.  Our goal for 2026 is twenty. Our New Convert classes continue on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. In addition, our youth spent this Saturday visiting our widows and widowers for Valentine’s Day!”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Maryland: Will Brown (preacher) reports, “We have a new brother in Christ; his name is Keshawn. He visited the church a couple of times. We think we have learned as a congregation to prioritize following up with people who visit the building. I asked Keshawn for a Bible study, and he said yes. He had an open and honest heart and was truly searching for God. We were set to go through Back to the Bible, but never made it that far. After attending two services and listening intently, he understood what to do and obeyed the Gospel. So far, he has attended every service and Bible class since becoming a Christian. We continue to have five studies ongoing and have had a visitor every Sunday since the beginning of the year. The Lord’s church in Aberdeen is growing, and we are thankful to God for the opportunity to grow. We request prayers to continue for our congregation and for success in our ongoing Bible studies.”

La Plata church of Christ, Maryland (remote): Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “This week we had six visitors. We wrote 32 compassion cards. We had to reschedule Lesson 3 of Back to the Bible with my cousin and his girlfriend for tomorrow afternoon. We request prayers for their obedience to the Gospel. Our advanced teachers’ training class is starting training on Lesson 2 of Believe the Bible, ‘Bible Inspiration.’ Eight folks attended our New Converts class Sunday; we completed Lesson 7 of the Fundamentals of the Faith: ‘The Importance of Sound Doctrine in God’s Eyes.’”

Fulton church of Christ, Mississippi: Richard Comer (deacon) reports, “We have nine names on our prospect list and added four more for this week. We have had to go back over the process to help people understand what we are trying to accomplish as a congregation. The congregation as a whole appears more willing to participate in our evangelization efforts. I have a Bible study tonight on the final lesson in the Back to the Bible series. I appreciate prayers for the study.  Update: John Stevens was just baptized at 8 pm today, February 16, 2026, in Fulton, Mississippi.”

Plainview church of Christ, Fulton, Mississippi: Tom House (preacher) reports, “We finished Lesson 3 on John 4. We have figured out how to use the training videos for our class. We will be utilizing those next Sunday. We will begin looking at the BTTB series the week after next. We will provide the lists of items to use for visitor bags and new mover bags next week. I will contact HTH tomorrow about getting our routes in order. It is nice to see the members excited about the work! Things will run a little slower this week because of my heart procedure. Hopefully, everything will go well, and we will get back to work quickly.”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “We had a great number Sunday. We had several return visitors. I have found that, after three visits, I can usually arrange a Bible study. Three seems to be the magic number. If they come three times, then they are clearly interested in learning more about the church. So I go up and say, ‘It is good to see you back again. I noticed you have been visiting us several times. Would you like to learn more about the church? We have a great series that goes through the church’s authority in religion, the organization and worship, and the teachings on salvation. It includes all the basics of the church.’ They usually always say ‘yes’ to the pitch. I have two Bible studies set up for this week personally, and the church collectively has four for this week. We continue to hold the converts’ class, and it is going very well. We send cards out each week to our visitors. Our door knockers go out each month with promising reports!”

Oak Grove church of Christ, Missouri: David Wiseman (elder) reports, “We sent out 35 cards. We had five visitors at the services on Sunday. All were traveling. We are working on our bookmarks and asking for contacts. We received 17 new movers to work on.”

Marshall church of Christ, Missouri (remote): Charles Reid (preacher) reports, “The sermon was on love yesterday; it was titled ‘God’s Great Love.’ We had members of the church visiting their college-student grandson in Texas. The visitor we had last week was not there, so we will send her a ‘We missed you’ compassion card. We changed our digital sign outside. I will send pictures on Wednesday. My plan for this week is to call the members and encourage them to send compassion cards to people who were not there last week. I am putting together a list to text them. I hope to preach the next evangelism sermon next Sunday. I ask for prayers to help me encourage the church in Marshall to reach up, reach in, and reach out. May God bless us all in our efforts to seek the lost.”

Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Terry Hale (evangelist) reports, “We still have training and two Bible studies ongoing. We ask for prayers as we prepare to have a great worker from the HTH School of Evangelism heading our way in May for a meeting with brother Dayle Taylor and his wife, Denise. We are going to be working in the area, trying to reach the lost.”

East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “We had two visitors Sunday. After the worship service, we watched the video, ‘New Converts: Daily Devotionals.’ Our metrics thus far through and for February 2026 are two baptisms, four visitors, nine Bible studies, and two in our New Convert’s class. We appreciate all prayers.”

Glendale Street church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina (remote): Dayle Taylor (preacher) reports, “We are continuing to prospect those that have received compensation cards, and those in our personal bookmarks. We are planning to campaign in our surrounding community in preparation for several events on our calendar, including VBS and the gospel meeting in June and July. Early planning will engage and help maintain the church’s momentum in our evangelism efforts.”

New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) reports, “We had several first-time visitors on Sunday, including the mother of one of our members. She told me after services that she had been praying that God would lead her to a church where the Bible was taught truthfully and applicably. She had not planned on attending that day, but she simply got in her car and started toward New Concord, and she ended up here. She told me afterward what she had prayed and that she was confident God had answered her prayers. She assured me that we would be seeing her a lot more. Her husband passed away last year, and many of the congregation who know her have reached out with support over that time. Linda, one of our dear sisters, has already planned to meet her for lunch later this week. The elders have designated March 29 as ‘All Attend Day,’ with emphasis on reconnecting with the many who have become disconnected over the years. One of the elders got up and spoke briefly about it as services started yesterday morning; he challenged the church to begin reaching out to all our prodigals. I plan to preach a sermon next Sunday (“When a Member of God’s Family Disconnects”) in preparation for that day. One of our young men preached Sunday night; his sermon was on ‘suffering.’ He had invited a lady and her 8-year-old daughter to attend; they are going through difficulties currently. They showed up and were showered with love! The lesson that was preached was exactly what this woman needed to hear. Our prayer is that they return and soon begin a Bible study! We continue to be encouraged by all that God is doing for us here at New Concord. The church is unified, growing in faith and in number, and doors continue to be opened!”

Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “We had 15 visitors. Two are members looking for a congregation. Another one is having a Bible study next Sunday. We made three contacts. We currently have two Bible studies underway. We have 31 New Mover Baskets being delivered this month.”

Guymon church of Christ, Oklahoma: Chandler Henderson (preacher) reports, “We are on Week 3 of our post-seminar evangelism training. We distributed additional contact cards this week to those who did not receive one last week and set a goal to have them all completed by next week, so we can expand our prospect list. We had one returning visitor this week after he received multiple cards last week. He was invited to dinner but felt under the weather, so we will try again next week to have a meal with him. We are still in the process of learning all of the material and how to implement each stage of prospecting, but we are eager to learn and grow. The lessons on John 4 have been received well, and as part of our evangelism efforts to reach other ethnicities in our area, we were able to implement our on-screen real-time translator for the first time during the sermon this Sunday. Excitement continues to grow across the area, and I was invited to speak at a neighboring congregation on Sunday evening, which is planning to start the School of Evangelism along with a couple of other smaller churches in the area. They all seemed very eager and excited to get started. I learned today that they are already starting Back to the Bible with two young ladies who have been attending their Sunday services for a while now. We hope for more opportunities to continue to spread the excitement and the valuable information that the School of Evangelism has to offer in the upcoming months to many more of the area churches. At Guymon last week, we sent 14 cards, had six prospects, and had seven Bible studies.”

Barnes church of Christ, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: John Bellah (member) reports, “We began preaching through the ‘Jesus: The Politically Incorrect Evangelist’ series on Sunday. After our sermon, we introduced the referral bookmark for listing contacts. We had one new visitor who stayed for our potluck meal. Several of the new coordinator roles are beginning to fall in place, and we are organizing our materials so we can use them very soon.”

Coweta church of Christ, Oklahoma: Keno Shrum (regional trainer) reports, “On Sunday, we had a visiting couple. Using HTHSOE training, we greeted them, investigated to find out if they live in the area, and proceeded with pew greeter training to obtain their contact information. After the service, Jamie and I invited them to lunch. While eating, I moved through the introductory and transition questions. The result is a Bible study scheduled for Friday morning. On Sunday evening, we filled out compassion cards. I encourage readers to trust the process and stick with the model. It works time and time again!”

Owasso church of Christ, Oklahoma: David Combs (elder) reports, “Fifteen writers wrote 48 cards to be mailed out this week, and in the process, we trained a new card puller. She was very excited to be involved in the work. One prospect is on Week 1 and two are on Week 2.”

York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “We had about 55 in attendance for worship on Sunday morning again. Since Fred and Pam were on vacation, the New Convert class joined the main adult Bible class. The evening service had low attendance, presumably due to inclement weather; it seemed we had more people join via our remote link than usual. On Sunday morning, brother Mike Pirrera and his wife Sheila joined us from North Carolina, with their son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Caitlin, who are members of our congregation. Mike preached from 2 Peter 1:5-8 about the stair steps of Christian virtue. In the evening, I preached about examining our lives to determine how closely we are living for Jesus in each detail, so that we can truly magnify the Lord with our whole lives. We also had practice on Sunday afternoon for the youth Bible Bowl team. We had no visitors this week. We shared some concerns and prayed together before Bible class about many recent converts we have not seen in attendance. After services, we shared addresses so that members could reach out to those recent converts. I also have some visits planned for this week.”

St. Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (preacher) reports, “We started writing compassion cards. The first team met after morning worship services and wrote 20 cards. We are currently prospecting two prodigals by sending these cards to them. On Sunday night, the sermon for ‘Contacts – Visitors’ was delivered, so members have a general understanding of the process we will implement to capture visitor contacts. The Visitor team coordinator is in the process of getting families and individuals to be door and pew greeters.”

New Union church of Christ, Manchester, Tennessee: Paul Fultz (elder) reports, “We had 14 visitors this past week, and our members turned in one new contact.  We signed 44 compassion cards to mail out during the week. We have one in our Bible Basics class. We continue to meet each week to discuss visits and possible studies.”

Southern Hills church of Christ, Franklin, Tennessee: Fredrick Klein (preacher) reports, “Sunday morning attendance is up, but only from visiting congregations or members passing through. We will keep making small changes. We are looking forward to our congregational refresh.”

White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “We had two new visitors and four that have been coming for a while. We wrote 170 cards to go out this week. Ten people came for transition visits, so we were able to send out five teams. We visited with five families. We have two possible studies and one wayward looking to come back. We also received a House-to-House request for a study, but no one was home. We have been praying for workers, and God is answering those prayers. We have two active studies that are going well. One is in the third book and the other in the second. We appreciate all prayers for these precious souls.”

Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “Wonderful news. I am so thankful the trip has started out with a baptism! Our efforts continue here at the Freewill congregation. We are adding three new prospects to our card list this week, and we still have five pending Bible studies. We pray that those will begin soon. To God be the glory.”

Rome church of Christ, Lebanon, Tennessee (remote): David Oxley (elder) reports, “We have two Bible studies planned for this week. We will meet for our New Converts’ class on Monday. We had visitors yesterday; they were invited by some of our new converts. It is encouraging to see.”

Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Joshua Kennedy (preacher) reports, “We are sending cards to five people, and we will add three more next week.  We have two tentative studies as well as two others that we are working on. We have been working with the congregation to provide additional contact names, and we have seen a dramatic improvement! We are praying for all efforts to spread the Gospel.”

West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “Sunday night, we did our lesson on the invitation cards. We are hoping soon to have all of our group coordinators in place and have everything running effectively. At the moment, we have probably the most prospects we have had since starting this program. We are excited for that and look forward to visiting all of our prospects.”

Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “We added a new sister in Christ. She had been part of an ongoing Bible study. We are continuing to pray for several other studies that are still ongoing.”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “Two Sundays ago, a college student visited our assembly. Our greeters welcomed him, and our pew greeters collected his information. Many members of the congregation spoke with him. We invited him to return, which he did this past Sunday. I informed our young adults that he was in attendance, so after the assembly, they made their way to welcome him and invite him to our Connect Group meeting at 5:00 p.m. that Kim and I host at our home. He arrived at 5:00 p.m. and participated in our fellowship and Bible study for the young adults. He stated that he is a Christian, but through general conversation, we are uncertain if he is a member of the church. Part of the process is developing a relationship first before creating an environment of seemingly interrogation. His appearance at the young adults Connect Group was a significant first step in his feeling comfortable. We invited him to our Sunday and Wednesday classes and to our next Connect Group fellowship on March 1. Lord willing, we will have an opportunity soon to begin a full Bible study with him.”

Soddy Daisy church of Christ, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “Care Team Three will send out compassion cards to those on our lists who have lost loved ones and recently visited us. Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (evangelist) reports, “We are currently at 246 cards sent with 14 prospects and two new visitors. Progress is being made, and our Seniors Day outreach is this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. We have several business owners in the area who are coming to speak and give planning advice to seniors and caregivers in the area. This event gets us a lot of contacts; we can send cards thanking them for attending the event. We are still gaining momentum as things move along.”

Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “We added another prospect this week. Kris contacted us online this week to inquire about a Bible study. We are optimistic and hopeful that this study will yield results. Josh, another of our new converts, led his first public prayer Sunday morning to close our worship. Our New Converts class has produced some great relationships and results.”

Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “We are gathering names of those who attended our Ladies Love Supper and will be prospecting them as soon as possible. Many need to be transitioned into studies, if able. We have had frequent visitors to our Bible class on Sundays who also need to be asked about studying. It is my aim to do so this week.”

Eisenhower church of Christ, Odessa, Texas: Allen Weakland (preacher) reports, “The mission of our Lord becomes more important with each passing day. Over the past three weeks, we have been blessed with a young couple attending the AM worship service. During this time period, we have taken them in for the purpose of connecting on a spiritual level. We have seen firsthand the fruit of our efforts; the couple feels comfortable at night to engage in discussions, which allows us to see their spiritual needs. Neither of them is a Christian, but it is our prayer that our interaction will lead to a Bible study soon. We appreciate prayers for this young couple. On another note, our compassion card effort is steadily increasing. We are now writing cards on Wednesday evenings and Sunday evenings. May God be praised. May we all recognize that our Lord’s mission should always be at the forefront of our minds. We plant and water; God will give the increase. Amen.”

Strafford church of Christ, Texas: Chad Thies (preacher) reports, “A group of faithful teens taught their friend using Back to the Bible. They started Book 3 with him on Sunday morning during Bible class. The study could not stop at normal class dismissal time. The next thing we knew, announcements were pleasantly interrupted by the decision that he wanted to be baptized. So Trenton baptized the young man into Christ right then and there! We sang, hugged him, prayed together in a circle, and then picked up where we left off, but this time with one more New Testament Christian in attendance! We had our first teacher meeting and got all of the boxes unpacked. We scheduled a launch date and will be following the suggested teaching schedule. I will preach the first week PM sermon, and Trenton Stone will be preaching the second week AM sermon for Part 1 on John 4. This week, we had one visitor. We are working toward a Bible study with two prospects. We did not send compassion cards this week or make any visits. Three Bible studies were conducted. We had one baptism. We have two New Convert classes on Sunday morning and one New Convert class on Wednesday evening. We are thankful to be experiencing good results currently, but our expectations are very high for the future, once we continue training and incorporation into the model. Also, coordinators have been selected; we are in the process of informing the members of this and getting them website access.”

Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (evangelist) reports, “On Friday, Janice (one of our members) and I finished Book 1 of Back to the Bible with Tonya, and today we got about halfway through Book 2. Tonya has a lot of questions, but I think she is starting to see the truth. We appreciate prayers for her. We were supposed to study with the Williamsons tomorrow, but they have the flu. We are looking to reschedule. One of our members, Martha, hopes to begin studying Back to the Bible with a friend of hers soon. We have been writing cards to her friend’s daughter.”

Roanoke church of Christ, Texas: Caleb Rutherford (preacher) reports, “We wrote again to four prospects on Sunday evening. We had our monthly elders, deacons, and preachers meeting on Sunday, where again, our main focus is on our preparation for the upcoming AMC. We are encouraging members to sign up for job opportunities during that week. We are looking forward to hosting this great event!”

Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “Even though things are going well, the constant lesson is to adjust when needed. That summarizes our approach in the program and Bible studies. We have a few studies scheduled and are reaching out to more than ten people. Sometimes, we do not receive the Bible study immediately. However, we are planning on how we can build those relationships. It is like a game of chess. It is not immediate, but we are strategizing.”

Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Mel Hutzler (elder) reports, “God gave the increase! We welcome Trinity to the family of God. After studying with Anthony Castillo, Trinity took the next step and was baptized into Christ upon her confession. This week, we took a serious look at everyone in our congregation, from family members to visitors who are not Christians. We discussed their particular concerns and how to address them with the Bible. This week, we trained eight members on how to do ‘Follow-Up Work.’ They are excited and will be taking the initiative to do follow-up work on their own, following the organized process demonstrated and taught to them. On Wednesday nights, we also began to teach ‘How to Use Back to the Bible’ on Wednesday nights. We continue to have four Bible studies with non-Christians and seven New Convert studies. Also, Joseph Groda, one of our evangelists who went to El Salvador, reports five baptisms and two restorations.”

Southwest church of Christ, Austin, Texas: Bryce Mayfield (evangelist) reports, “Recently, we began a New Converts study. As expected, there were a few ‘hiccups,’ but it is going well overall. We have 12 new converts spending time in the homes of one of our members each week. They are having a meal together and doing a Bible study. This has really blessed all who are involved. We also have four Bible studies going on currently. We also had a baptism that came from our Facebook page.  We contacted the local congregation, and now we have a new brother.”

Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Kodie Martin (evangelist) reports, “We are blessed to see Tony and Kathy be restored and place membership with us, as well as their two sons. They were former members more than a decade ago and had been away, but they recently moved back, and we are excited to work with them! We also wrote 50 cards and are beginning Back to the Bible Book 3. We have prospects weekly in attendance, so we pray that the study will prick their hearts going forward!”

Bridge Avenue church of Christ, Weslaco, Texas: Braulio Carvajal III (preacher) reports, “We have four ongoing Bible studies. Our New Discipleship classes continues, and it has had good attendance. On Sunday, we had two visitors and two prospects. On Saturday, we held our annual couples dinner and were blessed with two couples (visitors) who were invited by members of the church. We were able to obtain contact information for follow-up. We wrote 90 compassion cards on Sunday that will be sent out over the next few weeks. We continue to implement different parts of our evangelism program with hopes of being more effective in reaching the lost.”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “Last Sunday, we sent 44 new mover packets to the people in our area. My wife and I met with a young couple and have been teaching them how to use the Back to the Bible lessons. They both recently were added to our congregation and are extremely eager to learn to teach others.”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “     This week the Williamsburg church of Christ had one local visitor this morning and has one Bible study pending. Our compassion card group is working on reorganizing and training the team. Our next-door knocking event is on February 28th.

West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “This weekend, there was a short-notice need to assist a new-in-the-faith couple to move items from a storage unit. Our members rallied to the cause, including one who is a relatively new convert. The couple told me they had never felt so loved or included as part of a church family. Additionally, several Bible studies are in progress. Our Compassion Cards visits are yielding opportunities in our community. One family needed food, so we were able to assist. We are following up with them for other needs expressed during the visit.”

Lupelele church of Christ, American Samoa. “We are continuing to increase our regular attendance and have had a few visitors each week. We have added a Greeter to welcome everyone and explain the available Bible classes. This past week, we had two studies using Back to the Bible. One study has completed Lesson 2. This Sunday, my sermon was Book 1 of Back to the Biblestudy series. It was very simple. Sometimes, the Hot Contacts we overlook are the people who have been attending for years.
