Editor’s Note: There is nothing that fires up a congregation like evangelism.  It is the life-giving source for the Body (Proverbs 11:30).  Recently, the Harrisburg church of Christ enrolled and went through the foundational training.  You could feel the energy level of the members rise during each lesson. As we pulled out of the parking lot, the elders and the preacher were meeting and beginning the work. This week is their first report, and you can already see baptisms in the near future.

Featured Congregation: Harrisburg church of Christ, Arkansas

The Fired-UP Church
Written by Mark Weston (Elder)

The School of Evangelism really fired up our family and has everyone ready to go. On Sunday morning, after the seminar, we passed out the Contact Bookmarks and gave a brief recap. Members will have their contacts by next Sunday, and we will have a prayer for those contacts and begin the process of moving some of them to prospects. We also passed out the Post Seminar Survey, and Brock preached a lesson from it. Members filled them out and returned them. I have spent hours going through them. I am so impressed with the enthusiasm that each member seems to have. They are willing to work. I just need to get them assigned to our various coordinators, get those groups together for some more training, and then turn them loose.

Our ladies are working on new visitor bags, and we will be ready to pass them out to any visitors beginning at our next assembly. Our evangelism table is complete for now. We have other things to order, but the process is working. Tunene has completed setting up the compassion cards and getting them labeled. I made her a spreadsheet so she can stay organized. I will meet with her group of ladies this week for training. We have already met and discussed ways to make things work financially with postage and keeping supplies stocked.

It is extremely difficult to remain in slow gear when we are ready to explode!  But we will allow the process to work, and we have all the confidence in the world that the seed we spread will produce souls ready to harvest. This is the shot in the arm we have needed. For years, we have discussed the need to move from the ‘cleaning the aquarium mentality’ to ‘fishing for men.’ The SOE has given us what we need to accomplish that goal. May God continue to bless the efforts of all who participate.

Congregational Reports

Welcome, Lake Country church of Christ, Burnet, Texas: We want to welcome the Lake Country church of Christ to the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. Attendance was excellent and this congregation has incredible talent.”

Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “We currently are working with a lady in the community that we helped. We hope to see her obey the Gospel soon. We are visiting a man who is very sick, and are encouraging him to be baptized. We are also seeing more and more first-time visitors, and we are following up with them.”

Central church of Christ, Saraland, Alabama: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “With our sights set on ten  baptisms for the year, we are focusing more on gathering contacts from the members to begin the process of sending cards and making visits. We know God will provide the opportunities if we remain consistent and vigilant. My family and I had lunch on Sunday afternoon with a contact who may consider having a potential Bible study. We will follow up this week and pray for God’s providence.”

Petersville church of Christ, Florence, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “We sent 45 compassion cards last week. This has continued to be a thriving ministry that our members are passionate about, and we see tangible results. I brought one of our Bible study students to a Bible workshop at the Graymere church of Christ today, and I continue to help in leading him to the study of salvation. He is eager to hear the Bible truth! While not singularly evangelistic, there is also a group of church members meeting weekly on Monday to watch and discuss episodes of The Chosen. We see where it lines up with Scripture and where it does not, and we discuss the lessons learned. Every week, different non-Christian friends have attended and participated, so it has been a good introduction for them to some of our church family.”

Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Josh Halloway (preacher) reports, “This week we will be sending out 76 cards for a total of 292 for February and a grand total of 4426.  We still have four regularly scheduled studies. We conducted nine transition visits this week, which were very fruitful. They may result in four new Bible studies. Michael, one of the individuals we regularly study with (actually the one about whom we used AI to gather information on his baptism), has messaged several times from work all day.  He was baptized tonight!”

Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “The Lord richly blessed His church in Mountain Home this past week. Over the weekend, we gathered for our annual Church Family Retreat at Shepherd of the Ozarks. Around 90 members set aside the busyness of life to enjoy meaningful fellowship, encouragement, and focused time in God’s word. It was refreshing to step away from the noise of the world and recharge our souls surrounded by our church family. We were grateful to have Todd Miller, Lead Youth Minister for the College church of Christ in Searcy, Arkansas, as our guest speaker. He presented timely and practical lessons geared toward the ideas of: A God Who Instructs, Parents Who Lead, and Children Who Flourish — all centered on God’s design for the Christian family. The teaching was clear, biblical, and strengthening for every generation. One of the greatest joys of the weekend was seeing spiritual seeds planted in the hearts of several of our young people regarding baptism. We are prayerful and hopeful that those seeds will soon bear fruit for the Lord. Looking ahead, we are excited to host our annual Wild Game Dinner this coming weekend. This is an event we have not held since before COVID. We encourage members to bring something unique and enjoyable to share. This evening provides a wonderful ‘low-pressure’ opportunity to invite friends, neighbors, and coworkers to share a meal and hear a message centered on themes of hunting, the outdoors, and deeper spiritual truths. We plan to follow up with guests through our Compassion Card ministry. Speaking of compassion cards, 17 members stayed after Sunday evening services this week and wrote 78 cards of encouragement. We thank God for a church family that is active, loving, and eager to grow.”

Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “We encourage working in concert for souls. When Rob came and presented the SOE Model to our congregation, several other area congregations attended the seminar. A few of those are now enrolled in the school. With their new understanding of how the evangelism model works, one of our sister congregations recently shared some contacts with us. They are ‘Prodigal Members’ that they want to reach, but we believe they may be more open to receiving compassion cards and visits from us. They live closer to our building and might be less likely to have any negative feelings toward our congregation (which can sometimes be the case with wayward members). I consider their request a great example of Philippians 2:4 and ‘working in concert to reach souls’! Our total 2026 Accountability Board numbers are: 45 Contacts Received; 33 Neighbors (Prospects); 168 Compassion Cards sent; four Bible studies; one Restorations, and three Baptisms.”

Milestone church of Christ, Cantonment, Florida: Randy Brantley (elder) reports, “We had one visitor yesterday. The Bible study had to be postponed due to the man going out of town; it will continue when he returns. This week, we have set up visits with our prospects. I have already visited with one of our prospects. He has agreed to a Bible study and is setting up a good time for him and his wife. We pray this will happen very soon.”

Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Tom Neth (deacon) reports, “We continue to stay focused on the plan. Our elders are leading a prayer to begin worship, specifically praying for our outreach efforts and those on our compassion card list and involved in Bible studies. We have received some cards from those we have been writing to, and they have been a great encouragement to the body. We are continuing to send 100 cards per week. We have four active Bible studies, we will begin our first new converts class next month, and we are continuing to be blessed with returning prodigals and visitors.  Our average weekly attendance is up by 15 people versus last year.”

Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “On Monday, we had our first baptism of the year as Ben Gonzales was baptized into Christ. Ben is one of our young men, and his parents studied with him about making this decision. It was great to watch his father immerse him in Christ. On Sunday, we had our annual Friend Day and had 130 in attendance, and about 100 stayed to eat with us. We had several family members and friends present, and we have been reaching out to some of them.  This week we had two studies and one baptism; we also mailed out 130 cards.”

Warner Robins church of Christ, Georgia: Damien Walker (evangelist) reports, “We had two ‘pastors’ visiting from the local area. We plan to follow up soon. We are collecting contact cards from members! When I walked in Sunday night for service, I found one of our members filling out a contact card. This Sunday’s lesson utilized real-life examples of how compassion cards have led to real conversions. Lord willing, next week we will begin our compassion cards again. This time we will focus only on local prospects, and we will use our new War Room to write cards. We should have some pictures to share soon! We appreciate all prayers.”

Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “We sent 50 more cards this week, made three visits, and had six new prospects. We are working on keeping track of relationship building. We are keeping track of visits, emails, phone calls, or texts that we make to keep our prospects before us and active.”

Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “We continue having visitors from prospecting efforts. Bible studies are ongoing. Baptisms will be taking place shortly. I am preaching a Gospel Meeting in South Georgia. One of the members reached out to a distant relative of his who lives in Cartersville. I will be meeting with him when I return home on Thursday.”

Honolulu church of Christ, Hawaii: Tagiilima Esene (regional trainer) reports, “We have five souls in active Bible studies at this time. Two souls are studying Book 3, two others souls are in Book 1, and one soul is starting Book 2 of Back to the Bible. Our apologetics series is well-received; it is generating interest among several of our prospects. We have a leadership seminar coming up in March with Douglas Pell. This will be a good opportunity for us to equip our leaders so they can better equip our members. We appreciate all prayers, and we remember other efforts in our prayers.”

Harrisburg church of Christ, Harrisburg, Illinois: (remote) Doug Berry (preacher) reports, “I preached how we can reach out to Prodigal Souls. Members put forth several names of people who might response positively if we reach out to them. Several of our sisters in the congregation have been sending cards to a few visitors, and now we have also sent cards to our first group of new movers. Then on Sunday afternoon, members delivered some new movers’ baskets. This was our first time to reach out to new movers. The response was mixed, but we understand that we are very much in the middle of figuring out what works best. While we are doing our best so far, we know we can do better. This coming Sunday evening, I will teach more on how to reach out to our visitors. Overall, our excitement is good, but I think we need to slow down a bit and become more organized and better trained. God will provide.”

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “I preached on ‘How We Show Our Love for the Lost.’ The lesson was an update to the congregation on what we are doing within our Evangelism Program, which we call S.O.S. (Servants of Souls). I gave the history of the program dating back to AMC 2024. I provided a colored bulletin insert and a PowerPoint that showed statistics from September 2024 through now. I discussed how the membership could get involved and did an overall refresher of our program. We made 30 new mover’s basket visits, and 11 were home. We conducted seven Bible studies; we mailed 80 compassion cards and handed out a visitor bag. This week we have nearly ten studies scheduled.”

Jerseyville church of Christ, Illinois (remote): Jacob Medford (preacher) reports, “Stacy had studied Book 2 of Back to the Bible with her friend, and she said it went really well! Other than that, we are still figuring out these different responsibilities and getting everybody working together.”

Lincolnway church of Christ, Columbia, Indiana: Drew Reece (preacher) reports, “We have two Bible studies going right now and are working on making more contacts. We are planning a meeting in the next couple of weeks for our coordinators to continue to streamline everything.”

Centerpoint Road church of Christ, Toddville, Iowa (remote): John McGiffin (preacher) reports, “It is much easier with congregational evangelism. When emergencies arise, other members can step in and conduct Bible studies, visitations, and the like. However, personal evangelism still works and can show the congregation the successful techniques. Laura and I were shopping at Walmart, and a young couple excused themselves to get by us in the craft aisle. Laura asked them about their crafting, and they were so happy to share their story. About 30 minutes later, they said they had just moved into the area and were looking for a church. Laura saw the opening and invited them. They showed up on Sunday morning. We took them to lunch, and they are returning for our marriage seminar this Thursday. The entire congregation seemed genuinely surprised. We were told that it was nearly impossible to evangelize in a country church setting. So many people asked questions like ‘What is your opening line?’ and ‘How do you get from a conversation to an invitation?’ Slow and steady wins the race! If we can just get a conversion soon, I think the buy-in will happen for congregational training.”

Beloit church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dustin Dougherty (regional trainer) reports, “We had a couple of visitors Sunday for services. One person who had been converted many years ago has recently started attending again, which is awesome. My wife and I took the new movers baskets around following worship. We stopped at seven houses, but only two were home. Both of those were really good contacts; one invited us in, so we did not have to stand in the cold, and both were very happy to receive the spaghetti meal basket and welcome them to the community. We will follow up with cards for the people we met. To God be the glory.”

Columbus church of Christ, Kansas: Matt Fowler (member) reports, “We have continued our focus on handing out invitation cards. We have sent out close to 30 compassion cards this month. We also continued our training on meals and the importance of always eating with prospects and visitors. We request prayers as we continue to pray for our efforts and the efforts of other congregations.”

Spring Creek church of Christ, Hickory, Kentucky: David Morse (elder) reports, “We were blessed this week to have a new family visit with us; they are among the New Movers in our community. They have been receiving compassion/welcome cards for the past few weeks. We hope they will continue to worship with us. Our ‘Red Group’ met on Sunday to write compassion cards. Our leadership team continues to meet each Wednesday before our Bible Study hour. Our numbers for the week include the following: Visitors – 17, Prospects – 24, Cards – 1668, Current Bible Studies – two, and Baptisms – five, with a Baptism Goal of seven.”

Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (preacher) reports, “We are thrilled that Shawn Podgorski was baptized Thursday evening! Shawn had been studying the Bible with some members of the Lord’s church on TikTok, and one of our deacons, Matt McDougal (who also teaches on TikTok), was contacted to meet with him and complete the study. At the end of the study, they headed to the building to immerse Shawn in Christ. We are so glad he is now a New Testament Christian and part of our family at Central! In addition to Shawn, we had two other studies this week, and those seem to be going well. There are plenty of lost people in our area, and we are going to do all we can to reach them with the only hope for their lives: the Gospel!”

Flatwoods church of Christ, Kentucky: Nathan Adkins (elder) reports, “My wife and I have been studying with a couple, and last Wednesday, the husband and wife were baptized for the remission of their sins. Praise the Lord! It was a team effort. Several others were involved with encouraging them in the right direction. It was a great blessing for the church because most of us were there to witness it and rejoice with them. We have two other prospects who are very close to obeying the Gospel. Last week, there were two Bible studies, nine visitors, and one brother asking for prayers. We also sent six cards. On Sunday, the elders again asked the church to help with more contacts. We handed out about 20 contact cards, and three were returned right away. Lord willing next Sunday, we will be sending out a lot more cards. One visiting family has been difficult to get into a Bible study, but I pray that they will say yes soon. They keep coming to services, but they have not agreed to go out and eat with us. We keep pressing on. To God be the glory.”

Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: Ben Vallery (member) reports, “Our New Convert classes continue on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. We have received many letters and cards in response to our compassion card efforts, and we were encouraged Sunday morning as we were able to read another to the congregation. We will discuss how to follow up with this contact. It is great to be reminded that our goal is not simply to send mail, but to open doors. We have had three baptisms this year!”

La Plata church of Christ, Maryland (remote): Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “We wrote 28 compassion cards. Last night via Zoom, we completed Lesson 3 of Back to the Bible with my cousin Sammy in Chicago. Sammy said he’s ready to be baptized. I spoke with my brother, Peter Bumpass, at the South Holland church of Christ in South Holland, Illinois. He is the preacher and one of the elders at that South Holland congregation. After he and Sammy spoke last night, Peter told me that Sammy had mentioned to him that he had been baptized once before. They are going to meet tomorrow and make sure he understands the importance of his decision before he gets baptized. We appreciate prayers for a helpful meeting. We visited four folks last week. We stopped by and delivered flowers to our sister Jennie Garland; she is one of the widows of our congregation. We prayed with her and for her and to let her know that we loved her and missed her. We visited a young lady on our prospect list who recently lost a son. We gave her a beautiful plant and let her know that we were still praying for her. We also told her to let us know if there is anything we could do to help her. We also delivered a cake to a brother to wish him a Happy 88th Birthday. He and his wife have fallen away. We have not seen them in over a year, but I hope and pray we can encourage them to return to worship soon. Our New Converts class just completed Lesson 1: ‘Fundamentals of the Faith: The Authority and Inspiration of the Bible.’ We are starting Lesson 2: ‘Man’s Problem from the Beginning Is His Sin.” We are having a team meeting with all the leaders and coordinators of this year’s AMC on Thursday. It is super exciting to see everything falling into place. We appreciate all prayers and support.”

Iuka church of Christ, Mississippi: Sam Glover (preacher) reports, “Our own work is slowly but surely spinning back up. What most excites me is one of our recent converts, Nicki. She’s in her early 20’s and despite being fairly shy and soft-spoken, she is already growing. She’s expressed a desire to start helping out wherever she can in classes and has been inviting her friends to worship and Bible classes. We had the honor of welcoming one of these friends last week. I’m working with Nicki to follow up and make sure we don’t let her fall through the cracks. We are also following up with a visitor this week who has older familial ties to the congregation. She is already verbally committing to attending with us and I’m excited to see where that goes, as she has a servant’s heart, and we can never have too many of those.”

Fulton church of Christ, Mississippi: Richard Comer (deacon) reports, “We are sending cards for the third week and will plan follow-up visits soon. We have a Bible study planned. We are doing some additional training on the card ministry.”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “Despite the flu epidemic, we had a great number this past Sunday. We had at least three return visitors, so that was very encouraging. We had our visitor response team posted near the church entrance, so they were able to greet visitors and make them feel welcome! We have started our Bookmarks for this year, and this past Sunday, three new contact cards were given to our coordinator, which is encouraging. It is wonderful to see people staying motivated and involved in church outreach. With all the sickness going around, it has hurt the number of Bible studies we have been able to have. We had to reschedule two out of the four from last week, so we ask for prayers that people do not get sick this week. We want to finish our Bible studies with them. We have three lined up for this week. Keno Shrum will be coming to see us at the end of this week. He will be speaking to us at our Continued Education Seminar for the School of Evangelism, and we are excited to see him!”

Oak Grove church of Christ, Missouri: David Wiseman (elder) reports, “We completely organized the compassion cards to make it easier to find the ones we need. We had three visitors on Sunday morning and Sunday evening. One person had placed membership and had been visiting for two or three months. From an invitation from her daughters, we had an unfaithful member visit. She shows signs of repentance, and we think she will return to God.”

Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Terry Hale (evangelist) reports, “Teacher training is going extremely well. We really enjoy watching the note-taking and sincere effort to become good teachers. Our Bible study in Book 1 with a prospect is going great. He came as a visitor. He expressed that he showed up because a family member told him to come because of us. We appreciate continued prayers as we will start training in Believe the Bible; it is needed in this area.”

East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “After worship service we watched the video, ‘Tips for Evangelism: How Many Apples in a Seed?’ Our metrics thus far through and for February 2026 are two baptisms, four visitors, nine Bible studies, and two members in our New Convert’s class. We appreciate all prayers.”

Goldsboro church of Christ, North Carolina: Dennis Mays (elder) reports, “We have conducted our first home visit of a prospect; another visit is scheduled for this week, and one other is being discussed. We have one new Bible study along with the eight encouragement cards to them on a weekly basis. Our ladies had a Galentine’s event this past Saturday in our Fellowship Hall. This event marked the beginning of community outreach initiatives planned for the rest of the year. The ladies were encouraged to bring a friend or two from the local community to this fun event. There were 40 women present, including ten from the community. Everyone had a great time. The ten ladies had lots of positive comments, and we hope they will visit us again in the future. We had 11 visitors on Sunday. All of these 11 have attended worship with us in the past. Some are members of the church but have not placed their membership here. About one-third are not members, and we hope to encourage them soon to become prospects. Group Four completed 56 compassion cards on Sunday afternoon. After Sunday evening worship services, one of the elders completed training on Book 2. Next week, another elder will begin training on Book 3.”

Glendale Street church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina (remote): Dayle Taylor (preacher) reports, “We welcomed four returning prospects on Sunday: Mrs. Terry, Ms. Dana, her young daughter, and Charlene. Also, an adult daughter of our new converts, the Wilsons, attended for the first time. We pray that studies will resume with Dana and Mary soon, and that our newest visitor will be encouraged to continue with us in the near future. Prayers continue for Charlene, who has yet to agree to study; however, she blesses us with her presence on Sundays in worship. She is hearing the Gospel weekly by the grace of God. Studies continue with Brittany, a member’s granddaughter. According to David, the evangelist leading this study, Brittany is showing interest and asking questions. The seat of education in God’s word should certainly stir the heart to question and learn His will.” As for new converts, our two most recent converts continue to attend worship and Sunday morning Bible classes faithfully. They are moving along well with studies in ‘Growing in Christ.’ With work schedules impacting their ability to attend Wednesday night classes, they have gladly received the opportunity for digital studies with me on Saturday afternoons. Digital studies will begin this week. As for restorations, one of our recently restored members continues to demonstrate faithfulness in attendance. She began training as a Pew Greeter along with a new convert who is training as a Door Greeter under the guidance of their coordinators. We ask for prayers for their ongoing spiritual growth and continued devotion.”

New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) reports, “We welcome Raekwon to God’s family. This is the grandson of one of our members who recently passed away. His aunt and niece recently obeyed the Gospel as well. We had five first-time visitors on Sunday. One of our members had his son and three teenage grandchildren with him. All of them received a warm welcome along with a small gift. Compassion cards will soon be sent to them, along with Raekwon (from our new converts class). A woman who visited for the first time last week was back on Sunday. Our sweet, dear sister Linda has already met her for lunch (last week) and plans to work with her in the coming weeks.

Our ‘new mover’ teams are back at it after a couple of months of revamping. Four visits were made, with each new mover receiving a gift bag that contained a gift card and information about the New Concord congregation. One of our recent converts has begun a Bible study every Tuesday night in his barn, and it has been quite a success. Several of his neighbors, along with a few of us members, have been attending that. We are working diligently at promoting our upcoming ‘All Attend Day,’ scheduled for the last Sunday in March. We (the elders and I) have challenged the congregation to fill the building. We are working hard to encourage the ‘prodigals’ who have been gone too long.”

Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “We had eight visitors and added three additional contacts to our prospect list. We currently have two ongoing Bible studies. We appreciate all prayers for our efforts.”

Guymon church of Christ, Oklahoma: Chandler Henderson (preacher) reports, “This week we finished up the lessons on John 4, and almost everyone has filled all ten slots on their contact cards. Next week marks our fifth lesson in our training process, which will inform the congregation on how to use compassion cards in the prospecting process. On Saturday, we took 11 men to the Mighty Men’s Mentoring Conference in Wylie, Texas. Of those men who went, seven were recent converts, and they all expressed gratitude for being strengthened by so many men of faith. One of our Bible studies finished Book 2, and will go through Book 3 this week. We pray for receptive hearts in that study. We had no visitors this week, and we did not send out any compassion cards, but we still have seven ongoing studies and six prospects.”

Barnes church of Christ, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: John Bellah (member) reports, “On Sunday, we continued the ‘Jesus: The Politically Incorrect Evangelist Series’ with Lesson 2 being preached by Gary Henson in our morning service. We took time before the end of our service to pray for those on our contact list, and everyone seems ready to begin turning them into prospects. We had a return visitor; also, a member who has been out of service for a few years visited with his wife and expressed to several that he would like to be more faithful moving forward.”

Coweta church of Christ, Oklahoma: Keno Shrum (regional trainer) reports, “Last week, I mentioned the Bible study that was upcoming with a visitor. Thursday, I had the opportunity to go through Lesson 1 with Rick. Recently, Rick completed a ministerial school through a megachurch in Tulsa. When I arrived for the study, he had a binder full of material ready to study. I inquired about his material, and he said he would like to teach me about the authority of Christ. I told him that was an excellent place to start; I actually had with me a great study on that very subject. It was Lesson 1 of Back to the Bible. He said that sounded great, and we proceeded to go through the study. As he began to see things he had never seen before, he broke down into tears. He asked me how it was possible he had never been taught or had been taught incorrectly about much of the study. His response was excited and accepting of what we studied because he was able to see it with his own eyes in its proper context. Even more exciting is that five years ago, we baptized the young man who later became Rick’s son-in-law. Last month, we baptized his daughter, Kylie. I left the next day and headed to Collierville, Tennessee. After Collierville, I am scheduled for Aberdeen, Mississippi, for a Continuing Education Workshop. However, I have a two-day break between the two, and Rick stated he would love to move on to Lesson 2 as soon as possible. So on Wednesday morning, I will drive back to Tulsa for the study on Thursday morning, and then afterwards, I will head back to Mississippi. His enthusiasm and desire for the truth have greatly encouraged me! This study and all that has happened surrounding it have been a direct result of following the model taught by the House-to-House School of Evangelism. The model was created by Jesus!”

Owasso church of Christ, Oklahoma: David Combs (elder) reports, “Tim Bowman gave an accountability board update and some encouragement for the program. Group 4 met to write compassion cards. Fifteen writers wrote 63 cards to be mailed out this week. In regard to prospects, one study is on Week 3, two are on Week 2, and one is on Week 1.”

York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “It was encouraging that our young brother in Christ, Matt, was back in attendance after we mailed some cards to encourage him last week. We announced that we would put together goody bags for transition teams to take with them when they make follow-up visits to prospects who have recently received our compassion cards. I received some encouraging questions expressing interest from people both at the building and via email, who have not previously been very involved in evangelism activities. It is nice to find different portions of the work so different people can feel comfortable when they participate. The elders and I have a meeting on Friday to review various items, including a deeper review of the engagement involvement survey results. On Sunday morning (March 1), between morning worship and our monthly fellowship meal, we will have an evangelism meeting to distribute the new goody bags and to make assignments for which transition team each member will visit this month.”

St. Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (preacher) reports, “Our card team wrote 24 compassion cards. We have two prospects who are prodigals. The visitor team coordinator held an introductory meeting after worship for those who had expressed interest in serving as a door or pew greeter. We had one in our New Converts’ class.”

Ocoee Street church of Christ, Copperhill, Tennessee: R.E. Vann (elder) reports, “There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents. Rejoice with us as our Lord added another precious soul to His Kingdom. Jodie Marie was baptized into Christ this past Friday. Our initial contact with Jodie came through the New Movers program. Please pray for her as she begins her walk with Jesus. We also ask everyone who is reading this to pray for her husband Brian as he struggles with Jodie’s decision to follow Jesus. May we all work daily to convert souls to Christ.”

East Ridge church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Charles Cochran (preacher) reports, “We are happy to share that two baptisms have recently occurred. We shared Back to the Bible lessons with these ladies. They are so happy with what they have studied and learned through these lessons.”

Covington church of Christ, Tennessee: Wayne Dalrymple (elder) reports, “It is amazing to see God work! He gives us many opportunities to teach lost souls. We had a visitor a couple of weeks ago who just moved to Covington from a neighboring county. She happened to move into an apartment that is just across from our parking lot. When I asked her why she decided to visit with us, she said she wanted to find a church in the area and that we were the closest. The sweet wife of one of our elders invited her to come to our Tuesday morning ladies’ Bible class and then to have a Bible study. She agreed. Another of our sweet ladies volunteered to be the silent partner, and they studied Book 1 of BTTB. The lady said she learned so much in the Bible study. They are trying to schedule the second study around her work schedule since she just started two jobs. We have another visitor who has been coming for a few months now. We will be attempting to have a Bible study with him soon. The work schedule has hindered progress on my study with Alex. I hope to start back with him soon. We pray for a fruitful harvest as we plant and water the seed.”

White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “We are sending out 150 cards this week. We have a couple of requests for studies through the House-to-House mailing. We’ll work on following up on those this week. Pray that this goes well. We had four visitors. Also, we are training on Back to the Bible from the pulpit.  The weather has put us behind on that. We have a couple of studies going on right now and are praying for open minds and softened hearts.”

Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “We will be sending out 50 more compassion cards this week to three new contacts. Lord willing, I will be planning a Bible study in a couple of weeks with one of our ‘long-term visitors’ who has been at Freewill for over 40 years. He has never obeyed the Gospel. Now is the time to act, as his heart seems to be softened. I will be using Does It Matter? To God be the glory!”

Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Joshua Kennedy (preacher) reports, “We added three more to our contact list and are working on our plans for door knocking coming up in April. We also have a couple of people who have shown interest since visiting with us, and we are hoping to have some studies soon!”

West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “We are hoping to visit all our current prospects within the next two weeks. We are continuing through the program and sending cards every week. It has been great to see the congregation work hard and move forward with excitement for evangelism.”

Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “A husband and wife couple that we have been studying with for several months both made the decision to follow Christ and be baptized. The connection with this family and the church began with a trunk-or-treat they attended last fall. They began attending services, and in the last few months finally agreed to do a Bible study. This and others so far this year have been answered prayers from several months of effort. To God be the glory. We continue to pray for several other Bible studies that we have ongoing or hope to establish soon.”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “A crucial component of establishing relationships with contacts in our evangelism efforts is recalling the names of visitors who have not attended recently. A man had attended several weeks and initiated conversations with Gary Massey. Then the man was absent for approximately two months due to personal issues that he had disclosed to Gary. On Sunday, he returned, and when he was greeted, he was astonished because many people called him by name. From his body language and facial expressions, we could see that this impressed him. To facilitate this process, I utilize Apple’s Reminders App, creating a list called “Guest” at Mountain Creek, recording the names of individuals and providing brief information that aids in the quick identification of them from a distance. A quick glance at the list provides their names and relevant points as I approach to greet them. Other members of the congregation have their own methods or have adopted something similar to mine, helping us effectively disseminate this information to alert others in the congregation so they can also call them by name. This list can be easily transformed into a daily prayer list, requesting, Lord willing, an opportunity to share the Gospel with the visitors.”

Soddy Daisy church of Christ, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “We had more opportunities to continue our Back to the Bible studies with those who have been in our prayers. It is a blessing to see the reception of the truth throughout the course of the studies with each prospect. The congregation is made up of many compassionate saints who are focused on reaching souls and ministering to all people. We are currently putting together ‘Blessing Bags’ that our members can use to evangelize and to help anyone they contact. We are looking forward to gaining many contacts and having the opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ!”

Arlington church of Christ, Tennessee: Brandon Tibbits (preacher) reports, “We have moved forward with two of our studies; we hope to finish the studies this coming Sunday. We had slowed down since the freeze, but we are working to continue the studies and to resume writing cards.”

Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (evangelist) reports, “Here is this week’s update numbers: seven cards sent to one contact; 12 thank-you cards sent to speakers and non-Collierville guests from yesterday’s event; one visitor (member of the church who has visited before), and one visitor (member from Germantown). For the month, we have sent 98 cards (not including yesterday’s event). The total for January and February combined is 253 cards sent. Our senior and caregivers’ education day went great, and we were able to see around 16 new souls come into our building and count them as contacts. We appreciate all encouragement.”

Rivergate church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “I preached an evangelistic sermon on Sunday from Haggai 1:4-11, entitled, ‘Is it Time?’ The main points were ‘Go, Bring, and Build.’ I put out a strong reminder about our lists and our compassion cards. We had three visitors on Wednesday night, five on Sunday morning, and two on Sunday night. One of our boys was baptized on Sunday morning. We had a response to prayers on Sunday night.”

Eisenhower church of Christ, Odessa, Texas: Allen Weakland (preacher) reports, “First, the older couple who is looking for a church home returned. We sent approximately 21 cards to this couple last week. They had questions about the card ministry, so several of our members talked with them after services. They expressed their excitement about the congregation’s active outreach to visitors. Second, Dex Dennard invited a family to services, and they expressed their appreciation for the friendly Eisenhower congregation and expressed their desire to visit with Dex to learn more about the Lord’s church. Third, the young couple we mentioned last week returned and interacted with several of our young families. I was informed that they are impressed with our focus on the Bible and nothing else. Lastly, Jose is a young man who visited last week at the invitation of one of our members, sister Delia. He returned this past Sunday and has requested a Bible study—may God be praised. When asked why he sought the study, he said he has learned more over the past two weeks than he has in his entire life. Beloved Christians, please pray for all of these, for God told us that the fields are ready for the harvest. To God be the glory.”

Stratford church of Christ, Texas: Chad Thies (preacher) reports, “We took a group of 11 to the Mighty Men’s Conference at the Wylie church of Christ. This was beneficial to the model because of the mentorship and continued strengthening of friendships. New converts were in this group, so it was such a blessing for all of us to be together as we desire to grow as men of God. In the teachers’ meeting, we discussed the preaching schedule, looked deeper at the breakdown of the John 4 lessons, discussed needed materials for our upcoming door knocking plans over Spring Break, and helped with getting more familiar with the website. We made arrangements for a larger evangelism table to be set up. The curriculum was launched last night in our evening service. Trenton Stone will be preaching the second week; the morning sermon for Part 1 on John 4 will be next Sunday. This week, we had three visitors; we are working with two prospects toward a Bible study. We did not send compassion cards. We made two visits. We conducted one Bible study. There were no baptisms. We have two New Convert classes on Sunday morning and one on Wednesday evening.”

San Saba church of Christ, Texas: Justin Bell (preacher) reports, “One of our prospects who is having some major health issues has been deeply touched by a card that one of our young men wrote. We are very hopeful that we will be able to study with him soon. We added another Bible study, bringing our total to five. We knocked on five new movers’ doors this past week, and we also sent out a bereavement basket to one of our prospects who recently lost a daughter. We are very hopeful that we can study with her soon.”

North Jefferson church of Christ, Mt. Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (evangelist) reports, “Reach Team 2 wrote compassion cards on Sunday. Janice and I are awaiting the opportunity to study with Tonya again (she works in a lab at the hospital and her hours vary). Also, the Dennie’s and I are scheduled to begin Book 2 of Back to the Bible with the Williamsons on Friday. Tonight, four of our ladies are continuing a study through Acts with Gaby. Jeff hopes to continue his study with Terry soon as well as Martha with her friend, Becky. On Sunday night, I preached the HTH Sermon: ‘Jesus: The Politically Incorrect Evangelist Pt. 1.’”

Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “Even though we have a lot of contacts and prospects right now, we decided to advance in our efforts with three of the prospects. We played pickleball on separate occasions with three of them, and we invited them to worship. Two of them came to worship, and they went to share a meal with Grant and Lisa (the elder and his wife) with several of our young adult members. Because of that, we were able to get two new Bible studies set up. Both of them are 18 years old. Currently, we have five Bible studies taking place, and we still have several more prospects. Additionally, more and more members are getting involved in our congregational plan for new converts by having them into their homes for a meal, getting to know them, and playing games. Truly, the prayers at the Colleyville church are being answered by God, as we are willing to do His work.”

Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Mel Hutzler (elder) reports, “We are excited to report two more baptisms. God continues to add to the church. Sometimes we all need time, study, and understanding. We are pleased to announce that Kaitlyn was baptized into Christ after studying with her parents and various members of the church. Dewey McVea from the HOW Foundation was also baptized into Christ. He studied with Anthony Castillo. We continue to do follow-up work, mailing cards to four prospects, having members bring friends, and reaching out through mail-outs. With all these efforts, we give God the glory. We have four ongoing Bible studies and seven new convert studies. We are pleased to announce that one of our evangelists, Joseph Groda, will be assisting the churches of Christ in New Zealand for several weeks with an evangelism campaign.”

Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Kodie Martin (evangelist) reports, “Two of our prospects (former members) came to services thanks to a visit/meal with a deacon and his wife. They were welcomed and showered with love, so we pray this will allow them to slowly return, and we can study. The entire program has been a blessing for many former members to come home! We also preached through another part of Book 3 of Back to the Bible and will finish that effort in two weeks. We are praying that some will respond to the Gospel at that time!”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “We had a good turnout for our compassion card team this week. As a result, we will be mailing over 50 cards out to prospects. We have had a good number of visitors to our services. We are still praying for those who have been taught and have yet to obey the teaching of the Bible.”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “We are looking forward to Saturday for our next scheduled door knocking. This is a time for those interested in being a part of the team to be partnered with another person to spread God’s Word, make people aware of the church, assist those in need, and pray for them. We plan to do door-knocking at a nearby apartment complex. Our prayers for all of those seeking to spread God’s Word.”

West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “We had good discussions at our monthly Compassion Cards Visits meeting yesterday. We shared our approaches to give each other ideas about conversation starters that worked for us. We brainstormed about items we could bring as inexpensive gifts that serve as icebreakers and another ‘thank you.’ We emphasized asking the three questions, with our ultimate objective of obtaining their agreement to learning more about the church. One of our shepherds had a beautiful prayer, encouraging each of us to remain committed and steadfast in our evangelism efforts.”
