Editor’s Note: Evangelism is the work of many. The body is composed of many. When all those pieces work together, the body grows. HTHSOE teaches congregational evangelism. We seek to train the body how to work together to fulfill the Great Commission. Cedar Grove church of Christ is a great example of how this works.

When the Pieces Come Together
Written by Joshua Halloway

One of the most encouraging things about congregational evangelism is watching how God can take many small efforts and bring them together into something beautiful. Often it begins with simple steps like making contacts, showing kindness, studying the Bible, and patiently letting the seed of God’s Word grow.

We have been very blessed to see this happening in a real way through the story of Nena Ward. Nena was our first “new mover” contact after enrolling in the House to House School of Evangelism. After learning that she had recently moved into the area, some of our members reached out to her, invited her to services, and spent time getting to know her. We also shared meals together and simply tried to show Christian hospitality and love. Over time, she began visiting regularly. Last year, she even brought her great-grandchildren to our VBS. From there, we began weekly Bible studies together. Through those studies, Nena came to understand the Gospel and obeyed the Lord a few months ago.

But the story did not stop there. Not long after her baptism, Nena’s son was badly injured in a work accident. Our congregation began helping through our benevolence efforts, trying to support the family during a difficult time. Through that relationship, he has now begun weekly Bible studies. In fact, he is so excited about learning from the Bible that he has asked if we can also study with two other members of their family.

It is a wonderful reminder of how evangelism often works. One invitation leads to a visit. One visit leads to a Bible study. One conversion opens doors to an entire family. Truly, we are seeing how all the pieces can come together when God’s Word is planted and Christians show love.

At the same time, we continue working to strengthen and improve our evangelism efforts as a congregation. This week, we will be sending out 79 encouragement and invitation cards, bringing our March total to 174 cards and our overall total to 4,600 cards sent into our community. We currently have five regular ongoing Bible studies, along with two studies focused on new converts as they continue to grow in their faith. These numbers are encouraging, but even more encouraging are the souls behind them. Each contact represents a person, a family, and an opportunity for the Gospel to work.

Congregational Reports

Welcome, Grove church of Christ, Oklahoma: We welcome the Grove church of Christ to the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. Although Satan sought to hinder us with a violent storm, we overcame and had great crowds throughout the entire training process. We taught their preacher (Juan) at MSOP, and he is ready to get started!

Welcome, Northside church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: We welcome the Northside church of Christ to the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. There is incredible energy in this congregation. The attendance was fantastic! The elders, preachers, and deacons are fully engaged and ready to begin the congregational training. They have enormous potential to be an example of soul-winning for Arkansas.

Welcome, Bergman church of Christ, Arkansas: We welcome the Bergman church of Christ to the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. This congregation of around 60 members assembled with Northside for a joint training event. It was so encouraging to see the unity. They reported that 80 percent of their membership came on Sunday through Tuesday. They have key people in place and are ready to get started.

Glencoe church of Christ, Alabama: Keith Ritchie (evangelist) reports, “The Glencoe congregation is busy activating our coordinators in their works. We are still having good success with having visitors. Two Bible studies are ongoing with the prospects. So far, in March we have had 21 visitors with four prospects, 56 compassion cards have been sent out, and 16 visits have been made. Keeping a good evangelism table (and keeping it clean) is important for the congregation. Let us all continue to do the work. To God be the glory!”

Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “We are in the middle of our annual Gospel Meeting, and it is going great. Numbers were extremely healthy yesterday; we had several visitors. For the last few weeks, we have been working with several contacts, and we believe we are close to starting some new Bible studies with them soon.”

Fayette church of Christ, Alabama: Josh Taylor (deacon) reports, “We had our Mission Sunday last evening. We have a mission to invite the Sheriff’s office to our Fifth Sunday service and fellowship meal. We look forward to this opportunity. We try to utilize every little event that we have and mold it into something evangelistic. We are reaching out to four additional contacts, and we are having a work-team meeting to continue to grow with one another. We appreciate all prayers for us as we continue to grow. To God be the glory!”

Petersville church of Christ, Florence, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “Last week, Petersville sent 63 compassion cards. We have been studying with a couple, and they have realized they were not baptized for the right reason. They asked for a study on the true meaning of baptism, so I feel they are very close to a positive decision. Yesterday, after the morning lesson, we had four responses. We praise God for them.”

Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We write compassion cards each week. It seems we are getting consistent contacts, which is great! We have delivered new mover baskets over the last couple of weeks, and we should be meeting about baskets for March soon. One Bible study is still ongoing, and another should begin soon.”

Harrisburg church of Christ, Arkansas: Mark Weston (elder) reports, “We had two more training sessions this past week with various coordinators, and we are doing our best to learn the material and work on the program. There is so much to absorb, but it feels wonderful being busy towards such a wonderful goal. We are still working on visitor gift baskets and new movers baskets. We are gathering a few supplies so we can finish them. I will be so excited when we can present some of those to visitors from our community. We did have four visitors last week, but none that we will work through the program. We currently have one Bible study in progress, but it is one that was begun before the school started. Those numbers do look good on our accountability board, and people are excited. Our Compassionate Card Team 1, ‘The Kindness Krew,’ met Sunday night after services, and we really enjoyed writing cards to mail this week. Fifteen people stayed to write cards. As I said last week, we have decided to focus on our unfaithful members first, and Sunday night we wrote cards to 10 unfaithful members. Our members seemed to enjoy doing that, and we are praying for good results from those efforts. I do not know why we have not done this before. It is such a simple gesture to show that we love and care for souls. Today I will meet with our website company to get things started there. It will take about four or five weeks to get it up and running, but we are excited about it and praying that it will prove to be a beneficial boost to our church family. I am hearing lots of enthusiasm amongst our brethren. Many suggestions, ideas, and attitudes seem really good. We are certainly trying to keep our eyes and minds open to the opportunities that God will present to us in the next few weeks, months, and even the next few years. We are committed to making this a new way of presenting ourselves to our community, not just a program! We trust that God will provide the increase!”

Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “This week was marked by the steady, quiet faithfulness that often defines meaningful evangelistic work. Many important seeds were still being sown through prayer, writing compassion cards, and ongoing studies and faith conversations. These consistent efforts continue to build relationships and open doors for future opportunities. Our New Movers Basket program is also gaining new momentum, and we have many opportunities to reach out to families who have recently moved into our community. Additionally, 13 people stayed after evening worship this week to write a total of 81 compassion cards—an encouraging display of care and encouragement being extended to others. It is also worth noting that this week included our annual Women’s Retreat. A guest speaker encouraged the ladies with lessons centered on the theme ‘Broken Vessels,’ reflecting on how God restores, renews, and gives fresh purpose. It was an uplifting and spiritually encouraging weekend for the women who attended.”

Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “You are never too old to evangelize! At age 93, Ms. Josie Locklin is one of our most evangelistically-minded members. She can barely get around on her own and cannot see very well, yet she is always looking for opportunities to tell someone about Jesus and the church. She has shared her faith with all her neighbors on her street, and she asks every plumber, electrician, contractor, and yard worker who comes to her house if they would like to study the Bible. She often invites strangers she meets to visit the church—and most people oblige her! There is no telling how many souls she has impacted eternally for the cause of Christ. When Ms. Josie puts a contact card in the box, that name is automatically added as a ‘hot’ prospect! Our total 2026 Accountability Board numbers are: 49 Contacts Received; 37 Neighbors (Prospects); 204 Compassion Cards sent; six Bible studies; one Restoration, and three Baptisms.”

Milestone church of Christ, Cantonment, Florida: Randy Brantley (elder) reports, “We welcomed Simone Frazier into the body of Christ. She put on Christ in baptism. We also had sister Rachel, who was restored and asked for the prayers of the church. Thank God for such a wonderful day; to Him be the glory.”

Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Tom Neth (deacon) reports, “Card writing has proven to be an effective outreach tool and an incredible encouragement for the congregation. This week, we had another person from the compassion card list visit our services. We have had others visit, but this individual specifically came to meet and thank those who sent her cards of encouragement. She also wrote a card that was read during services. She has now begun a Bible study. Additionally, we had a restoration this week. We continue to work on our visitors’ programs. Our latest project is to address the frequent visitors in our assembly. We know them by name, but they are not members. We continue to write 100 cards each Sunday. We have three active Bible studies, and we have had two restorations this year, and one baptism.”

Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “We sent 27 cards this week and had five visitors from the community. We had one Bible study. This week, I talked to the greeter coordinator, and we are planning a training session. We had one family of three that had been here for the third time, and they expressed a desire to be added to the membership and get involved in the church and evangelism.”

Warner Robins church of Christ, Georgia: Damien Walker (evangelist) reports, “This Sunday evening, we had our Evangelism Workshop night. After a 30-minute service, the congregation watched a video from the HTH School of Evangelism (Prospects: Card Cultivating). Then Zack gave a progress report on our curated prospect list for cards (10 prospects), followed by my prayer for the full list of individual prospects by name (50+ prospects). With 50+ prospects, we did not want to overwhelm the brethren, so we chose ten prospects for the card list who seemed the highest priority. We are working through the logistics for how to make sure nobody falls through the cracks. We had about 30 members writing cards, and most—if not, all of them—wrote a card to all ten prospects on the list. This was our re-launch for congregational compassion card writing, and it was exciting to see the huge stack of cards at the end of the night. We are making sure to publicly compliment and praise the congregation for their work in this process—submitting contacts, praying for their neighbors, and so on.”

Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “We sent five cards this week and had one Bible study. This Bible study was from a contact made earlier. We had no contact with her, but she called and wanted the study. The next study is on Tuesday. We have three prospects with two visitors. We are working on increasing every area of the Lord’s work! To God be the glory!”

Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “We have mailed a total of 80 compassion cards to eight prospects this month. Members have recently been telling me about souls that normally they would only mention for prayer requests. Our Contact List grows nonstop. We have several Bible Study Transition Visits to make this week.”

Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “WCOC and the Sunabella Assistant Living Facility devotional had approximately six non-Christians at the devotional on Sunday. The Compassion Card Group created and sent 24 cards. WCOC had two Bible studies.”

Lafayette church of Christ, Georgia: Jesse Teague (deacon) reports, “We continue the steady work each week, either sending cards, knocking on doors, or hosting an event to help reach the lost. Over the last two weeks, God has increased our congregation by adding two souls to His church. Rachel obeyed the Gospel on March 1, and Chris on March 8. Rachel has been in the heart of one of our members for many years, and he never gave up. We should keep on keeping on. Chris had visited a couple of times; after studying, he made the good decision to be baptized in Christ.”

Honolulu church of Christ, Hawaii: Tagiilima Esene (regional trainer) reports, “We continue our Bible studies with five souls. We are getting ready for our upcoming leadership seminar with brother Douglas Pell. This will provide encouragement for our elders and deacons. We have several visitors being prospected at this time. March through July is filled with events that should generate visitors and encourage our prospects. We plan to go through a series of lessons to remind us of our work in evangelism. We appreciate all prayers.”

Jerseyville church of Christ, Illinois (remote): Jacob Medford (preacher) reports, “We had one Bible study this week using the Back to the Bible Book 1. Other than that, we revised the compassion card program plan, and we did a trial run yesterday. It seems manageable, but it will take a bit to get it working smoothly.”

Harrisburg church of Christ, Illinois (remote): Doug Berry (preacher) reports, “In our congregation of about 35, the ladies are organizing the compassion cards. We have created two teams to send cards, including men and women. We have a very nice room that many have helped with serving as our card-sending center. We are working on our second group of new movers and striving to find more contacts from visitors and the congregation. We visited our first visitors who had received our compassion cards. Both really appreciated the cards, and one study was set up, which will begin this week. We continue to follow the program’s step-by-step teaching plans. We are grateful to HTHSOE for their willingness to assist us as needed.”

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “We conducted nine Bible studies this week. I learned that one of my students has been married three times, and his current wife two times. I will have to deal with this. Repentance before baptism! I continue to study the Acts Workbookwith one of our new converts. I plan to start this week as well with Robert, a recent convert. I send out two mentor videos each week. Our New Christian’s class continues to thrive.”

Flatwoods church of Christ, Kentucky: Nathan Adkins (elder) reports, “Last week was a powerhouse of a week for our congregation. On Monday, sister Linda’s father, Pete, was baptized. He has been attending for seven or eight months. He is a proud veteran, and we are so grateful for his decision to obey the Gospel. To top it all off, we had our Continued Education Workshop with Keno and Jamie. We needed it. Honestly, we have been floundering around, doing the best we can to get organized and stay focused. This is not easy. But even when the work is hard, I believe that the Lord can and has blessed us for the efforts we are making. To God be the Glory. We are halfway to our goal of ten baptisms for the year. A month ago, I was wondering if we could do it. Now I know we can.” On Friday night, after dinner and a Bible study, Larry and Misty were baptized into Christ. They have been attending since late January. Three baptisms in a week! Praise the Lord!”

Spring Creek church of Christ, Hickory, Kentucky: David Morse (elder) reports, “Last Sunday, Samuel preached messages from Jonah both Sunday morning and evening, relating the lesson to evangelism. We have had several repeat visitors from the community over the past few weeks, and we hope to initiate Bible studies with them in the near future. Our “Blue Group” met on Sunday to write compassion cards. This week, we are focusing on two things. First, we are making sure to conduct transition visits with those who are at that stage. Second, we are evaluating where we are on our ‘Checklist’ as we move forward. Our numbers for the week include the following:  Visitors – 17, Prospects – 27, Cards – 1,774, Current Bible Studies – two, Baptisms – five, and Baptism Goal – As many as possible!”

Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (preacher) reports, “We were blessed to have two Bible studies this past week. The couple involved in the study have no church background at all, so the studies are covering some very basic things, but we are grateful for progress. On Saturday, we held a singing workshop. While this was mostly for ‘our’ people, Johnathan Morrison, our speaker, also reminded us of how good singing is evangelistic, which was a great encouragement. As many places are right now, we have had a run of sickness that has caused our numbers to be terrible, but we know this is temporary, and we also know the work of seeking the lost cannot stop!”

Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: Ben Vallery (deacon) reports, “Visitors: 13, Visits Made: two, Prospects/Neighbors: 15, Bible studies: five, Baptisms: three in 2026. Our New Convert classes continue on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. Our youth traveled to a nearby congregation in Hammond, Louisiana, this Sunday to host a youth-led service. We are extremely encouraged by our young men’s great effort in service to the Lord. This week, we are also hosting a spring Gospel Meeting at Gonzales, and we expect great things!”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Maryland: Will Brown (preacher) reports, “We are growing. We learned that baptisms encourage everyone. This week, two new families placed membership. Our congregation now covers three counties and one city in Pennsylvania that borders Maryland. We have learned, as a congregation, to follow up with people. We believe that following up with people contributed to the increase. We have aligned classes to help us be evangelistic. We continue to build our evangelism program. We still have five ongoing studies. We are maintaining our accountability board. We are planning to bring in our local regional trainer to refresh our efforts. We are expanding our compassion cards and are now involving our youth in the effort. We appreciate all who read this report, and we ask for continuing prayers with us and for us.”

La Plata church of Christ, Maryland (remote): Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “After nearly 15 years of long-distance, on-and-off over-the-phone Bible studies, I was finally able to complete Book 3 of Back to the Bible with my cousin Samuel McCollough in Chicago. With the assistance of Peter Bumpass (preacher/elder) of the South Holland church of Christ in Illinois, Sammy was baptized into the body of Christ last week. Praise God! It has been a long time coming. We want to welcome Sammy to the church family. He is the first member of my family, outside my wife and children, to be baptized into Christ. Thank you Jesus! We wrote 19 compassion cards, visited two seniors, and started studying ‘Searching for Truth’ with a couple who completed Does it Matter? several months ago. We had a great AMC meeting with brother Rob and the Waldorf church of Christ. We are ready to go; the saints are excited. We have hung our AMC Banner to invite the community to our Open House/Community Meal on March 27. We hope many will come out and meet us. We pray that it is a success. We are also passing out custom-made invitation cards, designed to tell our neighbors a little about our congregation and encourage them to visit. We request prayers as we continue to train the saints and take the Gospel to the lost.”

Iuka church of Christ, Mississippi: Sam Glover (preacher) reports, “We have had four new visitors invited by members, and we have been following up with them as well. It is exciting to see members leading the charge on bringing people in.”

Fulton church of Christ, Mississippi: Richard Comer (deacon) reports, “We are in the process of scheduling visits. We continue to send compassion cards. We had four visitors Sunday, and the husband of one of the visitors may be interested in a Bible study. Matt continues teaching the lessons during Bible class. We have slow but steady progress.”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “This Sunday, in keeping with the momentum from our Continued Education Workshop, I preached a sermon called, ‘I Want the Church to Grow, But. . . .’ Several people said it was what they needed to hear. I do a sermon every year on the work of the church and how to get more involved, which will be next Sunday’s sermon. We ordered more books on ‘Growing in Christ’ for the New Convert’s class, which is an encouragement to me. I love having to buy more books because we are growing in this class. We updated the Evangelism Table this past Sunday. I think it is important to keep the table fresh to keep people coming back to it. I announced from the pulpit that we have new material for people to peruse. This Sunday, we also had two return visitors. One of the visitors definitely needs our prayers. He is in a unique situation. He wants to go through the study, but he wants to do it alone. He says he will learn more by doing it that way. I was skeptical, but it was done. I pray he will open his eyes to the truth. I will continue to check his progress. We request prayers for him. We had our Card-Writing Sunday this past Sunday. We had good participation, and we continue to reach out to the community.”

Oak Grove church of Christ, Missouri: David Wiseman (elder) reports, “We sent 39 compassion cards, had six visitors Sunday, and added eight to our prospect list. The best news of all is that one of our erring members has been visiting and was restored after being absent for 15 years.”

East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “We had five visitors on Sunday. After worship service, we watched the video, ‘Growing Church: Three Characteristics of Success.’ Our metrics thus far through and for March 2026 are two baptisms, six visitors, nine Bible studies, and one person in our New Converts’ class. We appreciate all prayers.”

Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Shane Belanger (member) reports, “First, we are still overjoyed by a baptism on February 24. This person is now conducting studies in a new Christian curriculum. Second, today we finished most of Book 3 with a man we have been studying with for several weeks. He has expressed his desire to be baptized! Third, we finished Book 3 with an individual who has been somewhat sporadic in attendance. We do know that he is dealing with some worldly issues, and he needs to come to terms with those issues. He has expressed his desire to be baptized, and we are very thankful for that. Fourth, we had another individual who had been away for some time, but he is now back with a strong desire to learn more about the truth. We hope to get this man into a study soon. Fifth, we also have a man who has been visiting with us for the last couple of weeks; he has shown a lot of interest in continuing to be with the Concord church. Hopefully, we will be getting him into a study soon. We just finished a lesson series on denominationalism, specifically as it relates to the Baptist denomination. To God be the glory!”

Goldsboro church of Christ, North Carolina: Dennis Mays (elder) reports, “This Sunday we had eight visitors. Two of these visitors have been coming regularly but are not members of the church. They have asked to begin a Bible study, and this is being arranged; we are excited. We appreciate prayers for these two young people, that their hearts will be open to God’s word. The Compassion Card team wrote 110 cards this Sunday afternoon. The coordinator for the door and pew greeters met after church with these two groups and began planning to start this good work. Sunday evening, the elder training on the Back to the Bible Book 3 completed training the congregation on how to use these books in Bible studies. The elders have selected four people to serve as coordinators for planning and carrying out community activities. There will be a meeting on April 12 for all those who have asked to be a part of this new work. We appreciate all prayers for this new evangelism work.”

Glendale Street church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina (remote): Dayle Taylor (preacher) reports, “Prospects: For this reporting period, several of our prospects are sick or tending to sick loved ones. BTTB studies are expected to resume with positive wellness reports. New Converts: Our new converts have faithfully attended all classes and Sunday morning worship since their baptisms. However, they were absent from Saturday class via Zoom and Sunday morning studies and worship. We pray that neither our converts or the church will grow weary in well doing. Restoration: Both of our restored members faithfully attend worship. Currently, only one of them attends Sunday morning Bible studies regularly, and at times the other attends Wednesday evening studies. We continue to encourage our sisters and are hopeful that class attendance will improve. The sister who is training as a Pew Greeter is doing so with a zeal to serve. We appreciate prayers for their spiritual growth and steadfast devotion. Visitor Follow-Up: 11 compassion cards were sent during this reporting period.”

East Sparta church of Christ, Magnolia, Ohio: Andrew Masterson (preacher) reports, “We are preparing for our community dinner this Saturday. We are praying we will make many new contacts. We sent 16 compassion cards this week, made two visits to prospects, and had 11 visitors return for their third and fourth week with us. We have two Bible studies starting this week. On Monday, we had our first baptism of the new year!”

New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) reports, “We had two first-time visitors on Sunday (one is looking for a ‘new church home’). Each received a welcome gift. I handed each of them a survey, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to complete and mail back to us. I started this a few weeks ago and have already received a couple back in the mail. This gives us some feedback that will help us to better understand who these folks are and what they might be looking for. We had a ‘wild game supper’ on Saturday evening, and a few of our recent visitors (folks who have been attending for several weeks now) came to that, giving us an opportunity to get acquainted with them a little better. We continue to gear up for our ‘All Attend Day’ on the last Sunday of March. Our elders have been collecting names of individuals whom our members would like to see attend and are contacting them, as I am. We are using this day to reach out and encourage all of our ‘prodigals.’ We began one new Bible study this week, and another study continues.”

Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “We had eight visitors. Seven are returning visitors, with one being a member of the church who is looking for a congregation. He came due to our card writing. We have two Bible studies. We delivered 20 new mover baskets. We have had one restoration this past week, and we sent 82 cards. We made two contacts.”

Owasso church of Christ, Owasso, Oklahoma: David Combs (elder) reports, “Following Sunday morning’s lesson, we were given an update and a pep talk and led in prayer by our (SparkPlug) Tim Bowman. The following evening, Group 2 met to write compassion cards. Fifteen card writers met to write 75 cards to be mailed out this week. We have two new prospects. It has been 11 months since our seminar and the rollout of the program, and we have had great results! During this first year, we have had 91 visitors and 101 prospects. We made 82 visits and sent 4,338 compassion cards. We had 18 Bible studies, which resulted in 11 baptisms! We have come a long way. To God be the glory!”

Guymon church of Christ, Oklahoma: Chandler Henderson (preacher) reports, “We received some great training and advice on door knocking and evangelism from our guest, and we look forward to putting it into practice in an upcoming door-knocking campaign in two weeks at Stratford, Texas. We are looking at scheduling a door-knocking campaign of our own very soon. We are providing a free meal this week for our local college ministry work at OPSU and are praying for contacts to be made from that. We have an ongoing men’s Bible study designed for our members to bring along someone from their contact list so that we can begin to build relationships with them and prospect them. We handed out 30 invitations, have nine prospects and eight Bible studies. We had no visitors, and no cards were sent.”

Barnes church of Christ, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: John Bellah (member) reports, “On Sunday morning, Marion Fox gave an excellent lesson on our attitudes in reaching the lost. Following the lesson, we prayed for contacts on our bookmarks with a focus on wayward members. We will be adding a few wayward members to our prospect list. Our lessons at our afternoon service focused on compassion cards, with Gary Henson giving a lesson from Proverbs on how we use our words, and we began the compassion card training using the PowerPoint slides. After our worship service, we began writing cards for two who were moved to our prospect list last week. Everyone seems excited and focused on reaching the lost!”

Coweta church of Christ, Oklahoma: Houston Shrum (associate minister) reports, “This Saturday will start our lectureship. We have marketed it heavily on Facebook in our area and around town. We hope to have visitors who are not Christians and will use this as an opportunity to collect contact information.
We currently have three attending our New Convert class, and it is going well.”

York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “On Saturday at our building, we had our first men’s breakfast in quite some time. It was coordinated by some newer members, incorporated a Bible study, and was well-attended, including some new/uninvolved Christians (the only downside was a trip and fall while loading the vehicles afterward, but Pam is in good spirits). On Sunday, we set another high-attendance record for the year, with multiple weeks in a row now with more than 60 people in attendance. This is great to see anytime, but especially considering the winter weather that we have had. We did not have any visitors this week, but the elders and I started talking to the members who had indicated on their involvement surveys that they want to get involved with things like greeting visitors, handing out gift bags, and offering encouragement.”

St. Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (preacher) reports, “This past Sunday, the sermon ‘It’s Quantity, Not Quality’ was preached. After worship, we asked folks to take out their neighbor cards, and then we asked for a show of hands if anyone had on their list someone who was sick. We subsequently received seven contact cards from our members. We now have 11 prospects on our list. We wrote 39 compassion cards after services. We do not have our pew greeter teams set up yet, but we did get contact information from a couple who visited from the local community. We continue to have one in our New Convert’s class.”

Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “Our compassion card coordinator, Mark, has done an outstanding job since we started our SOE program. He maintains a weekly log of all our recipients. His records indicate that we have sent cards to over 400 contacts since we started this good work. It is a great encouragement to note that our efforts have contributed to four baptisms and six other Christians who have placed membership with us at Hillcrest. We have several others who are currently visiting with us that we pray will obey the Gospel soon!”

White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “We are seeing an increase in visitors that is a direct result of the compassion cards. We had 11 visitors, and we are sending out 210 cards this week. We are scheduled to do transition visits this coming Sunday. We appreciate prayers for open hearts and minds. We will move transition visits to Thursdays after this month since the time has changed, and we will have more daylight. Two Bible studies seem to be going well; we pray for God to give the increase. As we were taught, training is important. If we do not follow the plan, we will miss lots of opportunities. I will be scheduling several refresher trainings on Transitions, Visitors, and Mentoring.  As mentioned last week, I believe God is about to do great things at White Bluff, if we just keep doing our part. We appreciate prayers for workers.”

Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “We rejoice with Billy Hensley as he was baptized into Christ Saturday, after studying God’s word using Does it Matter? He knew what was needed to obey the Gospel. Billy has attended the Freewill
congregation for 55 years, and now, after a Bible study, he has become a Christian. Over the years, several Christians, preachers, and elders have talked to him and encouraged him to obey. To my knowledge, he never had a personal Bible Study. The power of God’s word was on full display as the power of the devil was crushed at the end of the study. We are thankful for him and his wife, Mrs. Barbara, who has also been a big influence on him throughout the years. We welcome him to the body of Christ and give God the glory!”

Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Joshua Kennedy (preacher) reports, “We sent out another round of compassion cards and have two studies set up. West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “We have great news to report! One of our teens was baptized last Wednesday night! He has been thinking and studying a lot the past couple of weeks, and we are excited for him and his family. We also had a man who had been coming for a few months. He had gone through the first two studies. He has expressed a desire to learn more about being baptized, and we are going to study with him this week!”

Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “I continue to get reports of ongoing or new Bible studies that have started. Our card-writing teams are still meeting weekly to write and encourage those contacts that our members have submitted. Visitors are being greeted and loved on. More and more members are taking the call to go and make disciples a personal responsibility. It is encouraging to see.”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “ On Sunday, a prospect card was submitted by a member for a relative who is due to deliver her second child on the March 14. We will hold the card until the birth occurs and then commence our monthly card writing and visitation program. This is a significant life event, and we are hopeful that the parents will be more receptive to the full message of the Gospel with their second child. While they identify as non-denominational, their commitment appears to be lacking.”

Soddy church of Christ, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “This week, Care Team 2 will send out about 40 compassion cards to encourage those who have visited us and those who are wayward. This past Sunday, we met three more souls who visited us in Bible study and worship. We are excited to reach out to them, praying for the opportunity to minister and study with them! We continue our study of Back to the Bible with our wonderful friend, Tyler L. This week, we plan to begin Book 3. We appreciate prayers for this study! We appreciate all the support from the School of Evangelism and every tool to help us strive to reach the lost and encourage the faithful.”

Arlington church of Christ, Tennessee: Brandon Tibbits (preacher) reports, “We need more people to prospect, so we are about to meet today to partially come up with a plan to get more people on our list! However, we are building some momentum with the new Christians and have no doubt we will be able to come up with some more prospects.”

Centerville Road church of Christ, Garland, Texas: Alan Stevens (elder) reports, “We are now in Week 6 of the training schedule. This past Sunday, Tyler spoke on addressing prodigals. After services, we held a kick-off luncheon for our updated fellowship groups, followed by a large card-writing session to mail in the coming weeks. A total of 259 cards were written that day! Going forward, we expect the writing of the compassion cards to take place within these fellowship groups. There are currently ten individuals on our Compassion List who will be receiving cards over the next three weeks. Participation in keeping bookmarks has been encouraging, and there are additional individuals in the pipeline to be added to the Compassion List. It is a great encouragement to see the wheels beginning to turn. May all be to God’s glory.”

Roanoke church of Christ, Texas: Caleb Rutherford (preacher) reports, “Group 4 wrote compassion cards to nine prospects on Sunday. We continue to prepare ourselves to host AMC in June.”

Bridge Avenue church of Christ, Weslaco, Texas: Braulio Carvajal (preacher) reports, “On Saturday, Armando and Irma Mora, husband and wife, were baptized. Over five years ago, the Moras family lived next to a couple who were members of the church. The Moras family began to visit our congregation late last year. In February, another couple in our congregation helped transition to a Bible study and utilized Back to the Bible. Two weeks ago, another member had a follow-up study, and the Moras decided to be baptized. I love that many members of the church did their part to encourage and study with the Moras family. Plans are already in place to continue studying the Bible with them. This week, we will be hosting a youth event and are looking forward to visitors and new contacts. Also in March, we will be hosting our annual Ladies Day and will be working to build new contacts. What a blessing it is to see so many in our congregation working to help others to know the love of God and His plan of salvation.”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “We recently had a fellowship at our building, and about 50 people attended. Several of those attending were visitors. Jim is studying with a Spanish couple, and we believe they are getting close to obeying the Gospel. Wade and I studied with Jesse, who has been attending our Wednesday evening Bible classes. We will have a second study this coming Wednesday. One of our members asked if Wade and I could study with his adult sons. We have a schedule set up for Tuesday evening. We went to see the mother of one of our members. She is in a care facility and is very frail at this time. We hope she may be able to understand her need and be physically able to be baptized soon. One of our Compassion Card teams met Sunday evening to write encouragement to some members who have been unfaithful, and to others who have visited with us. Glenn Colley will be here for a Super Sunday on March 29. We will be going into the community to pass out invitations. We have had good results with this in the past. My wife, Cyndi, and I have been going through the Back to the Bible lessons, trying to teach a couple how to present them to others.”

Lake Country church of Christ, Burnet, Texas: Tim Tinsley (elder) reports, “Alex Simmons, our minister, used our class period to go over the post-evangelism seminar questionnaire. He went over the need for everyone to be involved in our evangelism program. He asked members to circle areas of work that interest them most for their involvement. We received about 20 of the questionnaires. Alex preached two sermons on Sunday about Jesus, the Master Evangelist, from John chapter 4. We handed out the contact bookmark cards after the sermon for each member to list 10 lost souls that they know. The administrator has made a spreadsheet of the responses to the questionnaire to discuss at our leadership meeting on Tuesday.”

Natalia church of Christ, Texas: Jim Word (preacher) reports, “This week started out with an interesting occurrence. Monday afternoon started with a text message from a friend in Branson, he said ‘I have a young man in your area that wants to be baptized’ so I called him, he told me that they were involved in a chat on Tic Toc and this young man said he wanted to be baptized. They found out that he lived about twenty minutes away from Natalia. He said his name is Aiden and gave me his number. I called Aiden and asked him what brought him to the conclusion that he needed to be baptized. He said he was on Tic Toc, and they were having a discussion about baptism and that it was necessary for salvation. He said, ‘I didn’t believe that so I started asking questions and the guys gave me a long list of Bible verses proving that baptism is necessary for salvation.’ I asked him what can baptism do for you that you can’t do for yourself? he said, ‘It will wash away my sins and add me to the Kingdom, and the church.’ We arranged a time, and he met me at the building where about a dozen of our members had already gathered and, we baptized him. Afterwards, we took him out to dinner and discussed the importance of understanding the truth of God’s word. He wrote down the times of our services and excitedly confirmed that he would be coming to worship. Then Tuesday afternoon my wife forwarded a text to me from one of our members stating that Lily a young lady whose been coming with her parents wanted to be baptized, and that they were going to be at the building at 6:00 PM. I arrived at the building where I was met by another group of about a dozen of our members. Lily was excited and her grandfather baptized her. To God be the Glory!”

Stratford church of Christ, Texas: Chad Thies (preacher) reports, “Part 2 of the John 4 sermon series was preached, and bookmarks were filled out by most members. We had a special prayer for the names on our bookmarks. We are excited to continue into Part 3 next week. This week, we had zero visitors; we are still loving on three prospects. We hope to get Bible studies with all of them. We have several other contacts, and we are looking to put to the congregation list to begin prospecting. We sent ten compassion cards. We made no visits. We conducted four Bible studies. We have two New Convert classes on Sunday morning and one on Wednesday evening.”

San Saba church of Christ, Texas: Justin Bell (preacher) reports, “We have been working on getting our visitors team put together and trained. Our New Converts’ class is off the ground and running, and we had our first round of new movers since the HTHSOE lessons. We are continuing to train the Bible study teams, and we added one more soul to our prospect list this past week. We are also excited about making several transition visits this week!”

North Jefferson church of Christ, Mt. Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (evangelist) reports, “Reach Team 4 met and wrote compassion cards yesterday. Due to various circumstances, only the weekly study with Gaby took place. We are hoping to resume studies with other prospects as soon as possible. On a transition visit, the Tobin family said they would like to learn more about the church! We are looking forward to setting up a study with them. Also, the Troyer family (formerly Amish friends of one of our elders) will be visiting on Sunday!”

Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “We continue to have four Bible studies taking place, with one pending. We still have many prospects waiting for follow-up. Soon enough! We look forward to our evangelism event in the park this month.”

Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Mel Hutzler (elder) reports, “We have two more baptisms to report after our two other baptisms. Alfonso was baptized recently, and then his girlfriend, Rylie. Alfonso is a friend of one of our new converts, Dalin. Dalin has invited several of his friends to church and continues to do so. We have Freed-Hardeman students coming in a few weeks to help us evangelize, to give a Bible and Mental Health Seminar, and to help with our Community Giveaway. We have one of our evangelists on a foreign mission trip, and the other is preaching in Oklahoma. We have four in Bible studies and eight in our New Convert class. Cards, follow-ups, and taking visitor information continue to go well.”

Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Kodie Martin (evangelist) reports, “I was a guest preacher, but evangelism never stops. Marco finished preaching through Back to the Bible Book 3, and our congregation is trained. Many have been excited about going over the lessons; this Sunday, we will teach them about new mover’s baskets. We will also plan a day of both fellowship/preparing the baskets, so we are looking forward to that. Lastly, we continue to be blessed by many visitors, both former members as well as those from the community. We will continue to do follow-ups to ensure we can make the most of our time with them for studies.”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “This week we were blessed with one local visitor. She and her husband just moved to the area. She was very appreciative of the first-time visitor bag. We also visited an assisted living facility and went to each person’s room who was not in the common area. We prayed for each of the residents, and the children sang for them. We left an invitation card with those who would be able to attend. May God bless all those spreading the Gospel.”

West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “We are developing gift bags to be part of the in-person visits we are making as the follow-up to compassion cards being mailed. It will serve as both an icebreaker for the conversation and information provided about our congregation. We are preparing to release the first version for testing later this month. Bible studies are continuing with folks who have been attending regularly. Our New Member dinner was well-attended and provided an additional opportunity for these brothers and sisters to feel valued by their church family at West Side.”
