Featured Congregation: Glencoe church of Christ, ALEditor’s Note: Community events can be challenging for congregations. The logistics, participation, and resources must align in order to reach people. One of the most successful annual events is the Fall Festival. For some, it is the biggest event of the year. The challenge is to maintain focus on the One Mission. Recently, the Glencoe church of Christ succeeded in collecting over 90 contacts and engaging visitors with the Bible and invitations to worship. The Goal of a Community Event The Glencoe congregation held a successful Fall Festival, attracting over 400 visitors. We asked them why they came. To our surprise it was because of our advertisement on our local community Facebook pages. We served soup, hot dogs, desserts, hot chocolate, coffee, and more. We gave out 85 coffee mugs to the adults who came. In addition, we gave several Apologetic Press study Bibles to those who either did not have one or needed a new one. We had candy, games, and other activities to bring the community together. It was a huge success. Our goal was to spend time with the people who came. Food is always a good prospecting tool. As visitors sat down to eat, the congregation joined them and focused on getting to know them. We asked several different questions in order to find a way to connect. Some said they were looking for a church home. Others said they would visit. A few expressed interest in a Bible study. In all, our visitors filled out 92 contact cards, which we are presently organizing so our members can send compassion cards. This Sunday, we will be delivering New Movers’ baskets and bags. In just a couple of weeks, our transition teams will be working hard to set up Bible studies. There is so much work to do and so little time. Please pray for success. To God be the glory! Congregational ReportsWelcome, Spring Creek church of Christ, Hickory, Kentucky: We want to welcome the Spring Creek church of Christ to the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. This is a rural congregation with great heart and vision. Their elders and preacher are focused on training the congregation in the One Mission. They have many opportunities to reach the lost. Please pray for them as they develop this HTHSOE model. Hatton church of Christ, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “Our focus this week is on two new movers. One is a friend from the community who has had several health problems, and the other is an erring member. Both are good candidates for studies. We are revamping our benevolence efforts in view of the government issues, and we hope that by helping people in the community who need food, we will also schedule Bible studies.” Central church of Christ, Saraland, Alabama: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “As 2025 draws to a close, we are seeing the need to increase our efforts in 2026. Our goals will increase, the number of community events we host will need to increase, and we pray that the Lord’s Kingdom will grow. The holiday season will provide its own opportunities to reach out to people, but right now, we seem to have plateaued. Central has diligently maintained its focus on evangelism, but results have slowed. We are not discouraged; we are intrigued. We will try some new strategies to generate contacts, and we will try to get more members involved in making connections. Growth will come, but we are learning patience. One of our targets seems to be trying to take advantage of our benevolence. That will not stop us from trying to teach this person the Gospel, but we will have to be forthcoming. We want to help every person who is in legitimate need, but when that need comes with a sense of entitlement and no concern for the truth, then we must be judicious in our outreach.” Petersville church of Christ, Florence, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “We have planned a coordinator meeting this month to remind everyone of the different ways they can be involved in evangelism. The Bible study last week was pushed to Tuesday, but we still anticipate good results. Several members have asked how they can help with potential food shortages due to the decrease of government benefits for some, so the church made an announcement that anyone willing to help can be added to the list that will provide meals, groceries, and assistance when needed. We have already had 24 families volunteer to help, and we raised $2,800 for the effort. We want to connect people to God’s blessings!” Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We began writing cards to trunk or treat visitors this week. We are reaching out to 30-35 families who visited us last week. We hope to schedule some Bible studies! We currently have one study in progress and one set to start soon.” Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Josh Holloway (preacher) reports, “This week we had two Bible studies. We had Nena over for a meal and a study. She is so close to obeying the Gospel. We had an additional study with Mrs. Terry. She came over for a meal and study on Wednesday. She has been questioning her baptism, but it is a little harder situation. She was baptized in the Baptist church in the ‘80s, and she fully believes that she was baptized for the remission of sins. She even brought her baptismal certificate from 1983 to show me. That has muddied the water some because the certificate has verses that do teach baptism and its essentiality. We will continue to study with her, and we would appreciate continued prayers for this effort. We have ongoing studies with Terry, Nena, Michael, Casheria, Lontae, Matt, Shelia, and Randy. We went on several transition visits this week. We have not had many positive results lately, but that changed with our last visit this Saturday. We visited a man named Mike. He has cancer and is going through treatments. The church has showered him with cards. He invited us in, and we discussed Bible topics. We exchanged phone numbers so we could text back and forth. He was baptized in the church but has been Baptist for most of his adult life. Since he is open to study, we have a possible Bible study set up for next week.” Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “This week has been a strong example of working the HTHSOE model and faithfully trusting the process. Our congregation has been blessed with a noticeable increase in contacts—thanks to two major community events as well as many visiting family members and friends of our members. As a result, the number of cards being sent each week has climbed significantly. After a brief lull, we feel as though we have regained our momentum. Sunday night, Twenty one people stayed after services and wrote 130 cards! In addition, because of the increase in contact cards and several time-sensitive situations (such as surgeries and major life events), one of our ladies’ groups has generously stepped in to help supplement the card-writing efforts. We are continuing to grow in two specific areas. First, we are focusing on the New Movers Outreach. While enthusiasm remains high across the HTHSOE model, the “cold call” nature of the New Movers basket delivery has been a challenge for some. It has slowed our timeframe a bit, but participation is gradually improving, and we are encouraged by this upward trend. Second, we are focusing on visitor tracking and follow-up. We have been blessed with so many visitors and interested seekers that we have struggled at times to keep everyone organized and ensure prompt follow-ups. This is an area we are working diligently to strengthen, because we recognize these souls represent some of the most immediate and fruitful opportunities for the Gospel. We appreciate continued prayers for energy, organization, wisdom, and steadfast hearts so that no one falls through the cracks. Using a football analogy, we are doing so well and seeing so many open doors that we simply ‘do not want to out-punt our coverage.’ We are thankful to God for these growth opportunities and excited for what He continues to do through His people here.” Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Greg Moody (elder) reports, “One week out from the seminar, we had the follow-up sermon on Sunday and had the church fill out the post-seminar survey at the end of the service. All these were collected. We have one Bible study to report, which is occurring as I write this. We have four new converts. We are moving forward to nail everything down and get the program running. The church is excited about this!” Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “Sunday was a glorious day as we were overjoyed to welcome a new sister into Christ. Tracy had been studying with Lynn and Penny for several weeks. They studied, among other things, Does it Matter? Tracy had lots of questions and is enjoying worship and Bible study. The relationship of these three ladies has grown over the weeks. They sit together in worship and greet each other with smiles and joy. The joy of being a soul winner is evident. The joy of knowing freedom from sin was obvious as we saw Tracy come up out of the water with joy on her face. We had our first visitors from the mailing of HTH this week, and they are planning to come back on Sunday. I did not get a card count, but we had four studies this week.” Warner Robins church of Christ, Georgia: Damien Walker (evangelist) reports, “We are working on following up with our visitors from Trunk or Treat. Lord willing, we will help some of them with meals. One contact asked for assistance with yard work, and a member offered to help with that this week. Additionally, several families asked for prayers or spiritual assistance. We have been sending cards to about 50 families. As we follow up with these contacts, we will be trying to get them to have Bible studies with us. We ask for prayers as we continue to implement the House to House strategies that will help us stay on track and grow. To God be the glory!” Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “For this month, we have 13 Prospects, and we are in the process of mailing at least 90 compassion cards. Throughout the month, we plan to make 15 visits to set up Bible studies. Since our enrollment in June 2024, we have baptized at least one soul each month, and usually more than one. Yesterday, I gave the church here a challenge for us to baptize at least one soul a week. We are working on things for the upcoming year to help us meet that challenge.” Edgewood church of Christ, Columbus, Georgia: Mitchell Deering (deacon) reports, “We mailed 32 compassion cards on this first Sunday of November, beginning the month with positive momentum. We had two visitors this Sunday, both of whom were welcomed and added to our follow-up list. Our 14 active Bible studies continue into November, demonstrating strong ongoing engagement. As we start a new month, we are focused on consistent follow-up and transitioning more prospects into active studies.” Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “WCOC and the Sunabella Assistant Living Facility had approximately five non-Christian at the devotional on Sunday. The Prison Ministry Group conducted Bible studies with five kids in the Youth Detention Center. The Compassion Card Group created and sent six cards. We had six non-Christian visitors last Sunday for morning worship. We had a total of six Bible studies and one baptism last week.” Eatonton church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Roderick Coney (preacher) reports, “We mailed compassion cards to people we met through the New Mover’s program and the one visitor we had outside of that program. We have all of our bags ready and contact cards made out for our next round. We did not get out to hand any of them out, because Don was busy taking me to several unplanned doctor’s appointments. Today, I am having a root canal. Then I will have a CT scan this Thursday to determine the course of treatment for the lung damage the radiation has done. Please continue to pray for us. It feels like every time we start off well, Satan throws something else in our path. We are planning to go out tomorrow evening, Lord willing, to deliver at least half of the new mover bags.” Honolulu church of Christ, Hawaii: Tagiilima Esene (preacher) reports, “We had a visitor who came to our worship service Sunday because she received the House to House, Heart to Heart mail out. We have taken her contact information and the prospecting process has been initiated. We are excited to share that another visitor worshipped with us after she watched the WVBS video ‘Why Are There So Many Churches?’ She is interested in the church. A meal invitation is set for her, and we look forward to get to know her better and schedule a Bible study soon. Two souls are very near the Kingdom. They are completing Book 2 and starting Book 3 of Back to the Bible. We are preparing for the seminar in American Samoa with the Lupelele church of Christ who recently enrolled in the School of Evangelism. We appreciate all prayers for these efforts.” LaGrange church of Christ, Indiana: Wayne Poe (elder) reports, “We had two more baptisms Friday night. In the last five weeks, we have had seven baptisms. For the year, I believe we have had nine baptisms. It has been a good year. We have had studies going most of the year, but cards have been a little tough since people are not turning in names. We will improve in this area as time goes on. Overall, I feel it has been a productive year.” Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (elder) reports, “We continue to have visitors each Sunday. We gave out one visitor bag. Felicia and her granddaughter had been to our food giveaway. We mailed compassion cards and made six follow-up visits. We just could not find her at home. Then, on Wednesday afternoon about 5:00, she called the church office. We had a great conversation. She said, ‘I will be there Sunday morning.’ We showed her granddaughter where her class was. We will certainly follow up. We mailed 93 compassion cards and conducted three Bible studies. We currently have ten studies that are in progress. I am praying for a baptism in the next week. We delivered new movers baskets as well.” Lincoln Way church of Christ, Columbia City, Indiana: Drew Reece (preacher) reports, “We had good news on one of our prospects, and it looks promising that we will have a study in the near future. We also have one ongoing study.” Columbus church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Matt Fowler (member) reports, “My wife, Beth, completed Back to the Bible Book 2 with a coworker this week. It was the first time she had heard the teaching about singing, and she raised some objections. We are praying that she may study further on her own and come to the truth. Beth is trying to schedule a study with Book 3 with her soon. We are praying that three other Bible studies will resume soon. We have continued congregational training and have been going through Back to the Bible on Sunday afternoons and have been watching the Jule Miller series on Wednesday nights to try to add some more tools to our toolbox. We are praying for all the efforts going on throughout the brotherhood. We love reading everyone’s reports.” Beloit church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dustin Dougherty (regional trainer) reports, “Yesterday we had 37 in attendance with three new visitors. The visitors we had a couple weeks ago have been attending regularly since their first visit, and we are happy to have them with us. We had a fellowship meal yesterday, and one of the visitors stayed. I was able to sit with him and prospect him a little bit while we ate. I invited him back for mid-week studies and services next weekend. I am still advertising for the college and young adult classes, praying that we can get some in the area interested and excited for the Bible. We will finish our second reading through the New Testament later this week, and then we will do a ‘speed read’ to get in one more complete reading before the end of the year. To God be the glory.” Flatwoods church of Christ, Kentucky (remote): Nathan Adkins (elder) reports, “Sunday was ‘Bring a Friend Day.’ We had our best attendance since May of 2021. We had 155 souls present. About 40 were visitors, and several were first timers. We had to get extra tables out for the potluck. We have all the contacts we can handle at the moment. We have lots of follow-up visits to make hoping and praying for Bible studies.” Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (preacher) reports, “We held a Bible study with a young couple, both of whom have been at Central for a long time, but who finally agreed to study. We are glad they are in the Word, and we pray that these studies continue in the very near future. On Saturday evening, we had our Fall Festival, and we were blessed to have a good number of guests, which we hope to turn into prospects as time goes on. On Sunday, we installed three additional elders (giving us six), and we are praying that this new eldership continues to have evangelism at the forefront of what we are striving to do at Central. There are a lot of good things happening, and it is exciting to see. We look forward to seeing what God has in store for the future of Central.” La Plata church of Christ, Maryland (remote): Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “We wrote 21 compassion cards this week. We had 50 members of our congregation and 24 visitors attend this year’s Trunk or Treat. Seven visitors attended Sunday morning worship, but we were only able to take one out to lunch. The others took rain checks. The young lady that we took out to lunch said that she is looking for a new church home. She found our congregation online and decided to pay us a visit. She said that she plans to come back and bring her family with her. She liked that many of the children in our congregation are about the same age as her kids, and she said everyone was so friendly. We showed her the love of Christ. Our Friday night Zoom class had 13 participants. We completed Lesson 1 of the Advanced Personal Evangelism Seminar Series:The Congregational Plan. We had a great class! We appreciate continued prayers as we share the Gospel in our five open Bible studies. We also have five folks on our prospect list, and we pray that number will grow as we continue to reach out to our community.” Beltway church of Christ, Camp Springs, Maryland: LeAndre Johnson (preacher) reports, “The study is still on-going. We appreciate the WVBS videos we received. I have allowed this study to get out of my control, and I need to regain so it can be completed.” Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “This Sunday, we had a record number in attendance. We had our Chili/Soup Cook-off. We had several visitors, and we gave them all visitor packets. The visitor team plans to make personal visits this week. I was able to set up a Bible study with one of the return visitors. Collectively, the church has four Bible studies set up for this week. The New Convert’s class had a large number in there today. It is great to see many of the new converts staying faithful to the church and their studies. They also have been inviting their friends and family to come with them, which has provided a great new influx of visitors and Bible studies. Eddie Lewis visited us this Sunday from Olive Branch. He often visits churches in north Mississippi and writes about his experiences in the Magnolia Messenger. I told him about the SOE program that has been a big help in getting the church better organized in their outreach, and how it helped to get more people involved in the evangelism of the church, which has made all the difference in our growth. I also told him about the Magnolia Bible Institute. He seemed interested in that. Hopefully, he will help us get the word out about the new Aberdeen campus.” Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Shane Belinger (member) reports, “The church is currently involved in three ongoing studies. The goal is to finish the study with Justin by the end of this week. We have completed all three lessons with Crystal, and she wants to be baptized this week. This past Sunday, we were able to get halfway through one lesson with Wendy, and we will continue the study this coming Sunday. Also, we hope to begin the Back to the Bible series with Derek. Visitors/prospects: The church did not have any visitors this past Sunday. Training: The church has finished its training and is completing the third lesson of Back to the Bible.” East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “We had five visitors Sunday. After worship, we prayed for those on our bookmarks. We are preparing to share the love of Christ and the Gospel for Thanksgiving Day by delivering food to families in need on the Saturday before. Also, we are having a meal with prospects on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, after our Bible study. Our metrics thus far for and through the month of November are seven baptisms, five visitors, 27 prospects, 12 Bible studies, and one new convert study. We appreciate all prayers.” Oak Forest church of Christ, Goldsboro, North Carolina: Dennis Mays (elder) reports, “We had eight visitors yesterday as we started our Fall Gospel Meeting with Ronnie Hayes. Four of them were members of the church who had recently moved into the area. The other four are hopefully contacts. One of them has said they would like to study, and we are working to determine a good time to start the study. We ask for prayers for this prospect. We are rejoicing that we have a new sister in Christ who was baptized recently. She had her three children at church this Sunday. Her husband has shown some interest in beginning a study. We ask for prayers for him. This family has a wonderful, faithful, positive mentor in our congregation, and we are blessed to have this family. One of the elders has a long-distance study with an individual in Texas. We ask for prayers that it continues to go well and that this individual soon obeys the Gospel. We have three new converts who were baptized the week before our evangelism study, and we have them in individual studies. Now that we have a fourth new convert, the elders will meet this week and discuss establishing a New Converts’ class soon. We have told the congregation that this coming Sunday, they are to bring their bookmarks and be ready to go full steam ahead in our congregational effort to bring these contacts to Christ. We will also begin the system of keeping a record of all cards written during the week and to whom they are sent. We are excited and praying that we are successful in finding the lost in our community and sharing the Gospel with them. We ask everyone to pray for us as we show them God’s love and teach them about Jesus. May God give the increase!” Glendale Street church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina (remote): Dayle Taylor (minister) reports, “On Friday, we began our first Bible study session in Back to the Bible with Lance and Mary. Due to illness in their home, lessons are tentatively scheduled to continue on Friday. On November 2, we had three new visitors, three returning visitors, and an erring sister. One returning visitor is tentatively scheduled for a Bible study this Saturday. We have a Bible study scheduled on Thursday evening, November 6, with a church member’s disabled mother. We visited her home last week and were met with a warm and friendly reception. Training with the School of Evangelism continued on Sunday afternoon while Terry Hale was in town. The congregation engaged in role play regarding visiting homes of compassion card recipients. Additionally, several coordinators were identified and voluntarily agreed to their assignments. The training is well-received by the congregation. Currently, the congregation has identified seven prospects. On Wednesday nights, the congregation continues to train through watching and discussing ‘Reaching the Lost’ videos.” Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “We had seven visitors this past week. We have two ongoing Bible studies. We sent out 97 compassion cards. Our elders continued to discuss how to proceed with the HTHSOE training plan.” East Sparta church of Christ, Magnolia, Ohio (remote): Andrew Masterson (preacher) reports, “We sent out 33 compassion cards and had two prospect follow-ups. Three visitors have now been back several times. We took a young couple to lunch on Sunday, and we are praying that we can schedule a study with them soon.” Coweta church of Christ, Oklahoma: Houston Shrum (associate preacher) reports, “We have had a visitor for several weeks, and we have taken him out for a few meals. He is in his 20s, and he said he was raised in the church but fell away several years ago. I have not been able to ascertain yet if he has been baptized, but I plan to have him over soon and inquire about that. Our scheduled Bible study with the visitor from our community meal had to be rescheduled. Prayerfully, it will happen soon.” York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “On Saturday, we had a Fall Festival in the barn of one of our members, and some of our prospects were present for that event, which allowed many members to meet them in person. Fred preached a wonderful lesson on Sunday morning to the crowd that was gathered. We had an evangelism meeting after worship, and we determined who will receive cards and who will be visited next week. We then had a very nice potluck fellowship meal together at midday on Sunday. We have also had funerals for two members within a week of each other, and Fred preached encouraging Gospel messages at both of them, so perhaps we will have an encouraging response from some of the family members. We have a joyful late addition! Matthew is a new brother; he was just baptized tonight. Having visited on and off for years, he finally agreed to a study of Back to the Bible for the last few weeks.” Union church of Christ, South Carolina (remote): Kent Thompson (member) reports, “We have three prospects; one is in the New Convert class. We will try again this week, as we pray for opportunities to schedule at least one study soon. We are not going to stop trying!” Rome church of Christ, Lebanon, Tennessee (remote): David Oxley (elder) reports, “We met this week for our advanced class. We are sending cards this week to two prospects and planning two visits. We have one Bible study planned. We will also meet for our New Converts class on Monday.” White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “We had an outstanding week this week. We had our trunk or treat for the community on Halloween night. There were 326 kids who came through. We didn’t get an adult count, but it was a great turnout. We had several requests for children’s Bibles and a few prayer requests. We will get the Bibles ordered and hand-deliver them. Pray we are able to turn these into Bible studies. Our Compassion Card program started this last Sunday. We are sending cards to eight people with cancer and two visitors. They will be receiving 27 cards each this week. We had six new visitors, and some stayed for a first-of-the-month potluck. We added two more Bible studies this week for a total of six active studies. The exciting news is that we had two baptisms on Sunday. Cody visited while Rob was here, and that planted the seed for him. Zane is the grandson of one of our members, and he had started studying with him. On the way home from church Sunday, he told his grandfather that he was lost and needed to do something about it. He was baptized in their creek. Praise be to God!” Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “We had a new visitor at services and will be flooding him with cards this week. We have a meal planned with one of our long-term visitors. I hope to transition into a Bible study with her. I will use Does it Matter? as she needs a little help getting over the finish line. We are planning diligently for our upcoming Gospel Meeting at the end of the month with Brandon Blackwell. God has blessed us, and we give Him the glory.” Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Joshua Kennedy (preacher) reports, “We have one study going on right now that seems to be going well. We will follow up with one contact this week. We have a few compassion cards going out this week as well. Although we have not had any baptisms recently, we are working on getting more involvement in that process. We just installed a new deacon over evangelism, Daniel Burton.” Ocoee Street church of Christ, Copperhill, Tennessee: R.E. Vann (elder) reports, “Several good contacts were made during a local Trick-or-Treat event. We will follow-up with some visits in the coming weeks. Three new prospects are receiving compassion cards. Five of our 15 Sunday visitors have received cards in the past few months. These five visitors all stayed for our monthly fellowship meal. We continue cultivating the soil and are getting better acquainted with our neighbors. Two are currently in a Bible study; prayerfully, others will be forthcoming. All glory to God.” West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “We started to make our first round of visits this week! No Bible studies from that yet, but we have a really good chance to get one today! We currently have two Bible studies and nine prospects. The congregation is still very excited, and soon we will begin incorporating the new movers into our program!” Grundy Street church of Christ, Tullahoma, Tennessee: John Summers (preacher) reports, “For at least another week or two, we will continue to send cards to those who are wayward Christians. As we only received a couple names of people with serious health issues, we have opened it up to our congregation basically to give us the names of any people they feel we should contact with the compassion cards. We are also soliciting information from the ones who submit the names to give us the circumstances of that person so that the message sent on the card is appropriate (sick, wayward Christian, lost job, new parents, or other circumstances).” Arlington church of Christ, Tennessee: Brandon Tibbits (preacher) reports, “We had great news for this week as a result of the door knocking campaign with MSOP. We knocked 2000 doors, got 20+ prospects, and scheduled two Bible studies starting this week. The MSOP students did a great job in giving us a huge amount of work that we are excited to do! As a part of the campaign, we invited everyone to our Fall Festival on Saturday, which we will use to gather more prospects. We request prayers as we continue to evangelize! One of our deacons set up a Bible study and had the first study last night. It went really well. We are praying for this study. Our other deacon has a study scheduled for Thursday!” Blackman church of Christ, Murfreesboro, Tennessee (remote): Brian McCord (elder) reports, “We sent 20 cards, made three visits, and scheduled one Bible study. We have prospects but no baptisms.” Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “It is encouraging to observe when one of our newer converts invites a childhood friend to attend our assembly, and that individual attends even when the friend is out of town. Gary Massey, elder and minister, has now established a Bible study with this man who comes from a denominational background. Additionally, two of our women, Judy Reachard and Nancy Mitchell, dined at the Waffle House near our building. They engaged the waitress and learned her name. When she said that she resided in the apartments adjacent to the building, Nancy inquired if she attended church. She responded that she had previously attended a Church of God, prompting Nancy to invite her to Bible class and worship. Nancy told her that we have a young adult class. She appeared interested, so we are praying for her to take the next step. Each of the aforementioned examples is a component of the evangelism process, involving the invitation of friends and community engagement.” McEwen church of Christ, Tennessee: John Jones (preacher) reports, “I had a good study last night with the linemen. They asked lots of questions about baptism. Since the group is bigger than I would prefer, I took time to make sure that all of them had received Bible answers to their questions, but that slowed us down some. They are going to connect me with the administration of the linemen school so every 15 months when a new group of students comes through, we can invite them for a weekly meal and Bible study.” Philadelphia church of Christ, Lebanon, Tennessee (remote): Alex DeGraves (associate preacher) reports, “We are getting more compassion cards to send out and have recently finished some. We had a meeting last Monday and had a transition visit planned. We are hoping for a response from the visit.” Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (evangelist) reports, “Seven cards are going out to one individual this week as part of our continued outreach. Our new movers baskets are now fully assembled and ready for delivery. We have implemented a new numbered tracking system for the deliveries. Each address is labeled and divided among four delivery teams. As members complete deliveries, they will record which numbers they visited on a master list in the evangelism room. This new method will help us clearly track which homes received baskets and what responses were received at each location. The improved organization should also reduce confusion and help us maintain consistency each month as new lists come in. The congregation continues to show steady enthusiasm for the work. Members are taking ownership of specific outreach areas, and the teamwork spirit has been excellent. We are encouraging everyone this week with Galatians 6:9: ‘Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season, we shall reap, if we faint not.’ This verse has been especially fitting as we emphasize endurance and love in small, faithful acts. The ‘work of love’ continues to bear fruit here in Collierville.” Soddy church of Christ, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “We had several visitors Sunday who stayed with us through the morning worship hour. We pray that these will develop into Bible studies. This week, we will send out 35-40 compassion cards, study with three prospects, and hope for fruitful transition meetings with those who have received compassion cards. We are thankful for learning about tools we can use to evangelize our community!” Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “Between our trunk and treat visitors, new movers, and others, we have over 20 contacts for our compassion card group this week. We are approaching our 500th compassion card recipient since we started about 18 months ago. We are grateful for these opportunities to reach out to our community! We are in the midst of our fall Gospel Meeting this week as well; we have been blessed with several new visitors.” Covington church of Christ, Tennessee: Wayne Dalrymple (elder) reports, “We had our Friends and Family Day Sunday. We had quite a few non-Christian visitors. The highlight of the day was that we had two precious souls come to the Lord. Lauren, the wife of one of our members, was baptized into Christ. This is an answer to so many prayers! Also, one of our members, Brandon, was restored to the Lord. We are so thankful for the decision that each one of these made to obey the Lord. We also had our Fall Festival Sunday evening and had several visitors for that as well. On Monday, several of the area congregations were represented at a meeting to consider the possibility of an area-wide evangelistic meeting. We have tentatively set a date for next September. We pray that this effort enhances fellowship among the local churches in this county. We also pray that we will generate more interest in the Gospel among the residents of our county.” East Main church of Christ, Murfreesboro, Tennessee: Brad Rowley (elder) reports, “We rejoice in the baptism of Landon Borras who was baptized by his father, Ethan. We are so thankful to see our parents raising their children in the Lord. In the month of October, we had two new contact cards; our card teams wrote 117 compassion cards; and we delivered 11 new movers’ baskets. We had one new Bible study which resulted from a new movers’ basket delivery by one of our members, Joanna Jones! Chuck and Linda Aardema are currently working with Deason church of Christ (Spanish) in November to complete the Bible study. We had ten ongoing Bible studies during the month. Our Community Outreach coordinators will be meeting this month to finalize the quarterly events that will take place in 2026. The elders are also developing our evangelism strategies for 2026. We are making one change for 2026. Instead of writing down names of souls on our bookmark, we are asking each of our members to focus on two souls and pray for opportunity.” Birdwell Chapel church of Christ, Cottontown, Tennessee: Kerry England (elder) reports, “Our New Converts class began this week. They will be studying the book Growing in Christ. We anticipate a class that will not only increase our spiritual knowledge, but will also help us to grow closer as brothers and sisters in Christ! The Compassion Card team sent cards to nine families that attended Trunk or Treat last week. Plans are being made for Pancakes with Santa in December. It is being advertised in our upcoming HTHHTH issues and also on social media. We have two Bible studies happening!” Rivergate church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “We had four visitors on Sunday morning and two on Sunday night. Two visits were made last week. Sue Crain reported a baptism at the girl’s academy where she works with incarcerated young women. Some others are close but did not follow through because of some other events. We are not able to report names or pictures from this work.” Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “The family we have had visiting attended Bible class again, but they did not stay for worship. I am going to touch base with them this week to see if they have any questions and try to transition to a Bible study. I have not been able to move forward with my barber. She never wanted to sit down and study. I will keep asking. I sent her a WVBS video on baptism on FB messenger a couple weeks back and she responded to it but she did not see the point. Also, I hope to talk with a lady who has visited; I want to ask her some questions, but I have not been able to yet. I met the new preacher for the Methodist church on Friday. I called him today to find out when I can come by and talk with him in hopes transitioning to a Bible study.” Roanoke church of Christ, Texas: Caleb Rutherford (preacher) reports, “We are approaching 4,000 cards sent since the beginning of the year. Group 2 wrote to six prospects last night. Studies continue to progress with Mya, Veronica, Rachel, Brianna, and a couple, Nick and Melissa. Studies are currently in the process of being arranged with Chandler and Petchina. This coming Saturday is our annual, all day ‘elders, deacons, and preachers’ meeting where we discuss the upcoming year. AMC will be a major point of discussion, as we are looking forward to hosting. We are also continuing to tweak how we do our transition visits, as well as the baskets we are delivering. We continue to try to perfect what we do, for the cause of Jesus. To God be the glory!” Bridge Avenue church of Christ, Weslaco, Texas: Braulio Carvajal III (preacher) reports, “We have three ongoing Bible studies, and six prospects attended services on Wednesday along with two other visitors. On Sunday, we had our monthly fellowship meal after services; 15 visitors, along with five prospects, attended. Today, we will have two baptisms. One is a prospect who has been attending services for about a year now. Another young lady completed Back to the Bible with one of our sisters and decided to be baptized.” Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Kodie Martin (evangelist) reports, “Card writing Team 2 met Sunday evening and wrote 32 cards. This begins our second week of the card writing ministry and soon enough, we will schedule transition visits. Our congregation provided us with four more prospects, bringing our total to 25 for the year. We are blessed with their hearts to provide prospects for us to work on! This next Sunday we will be training our greeters/pew greeters on how to work with visitors, including getting contact information and taking them out to eat so they can get to know them better. This is important as we have been blessed with a fair number of visitors, but this will allow us to reach out to them and place them on our prospect list.” North Jefferson church of Christ, Mt. Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (evangelist) reports, “Reach Team 3 met Sunday and wrote compassion cards. Two members and I had dinner with a prospect Sunday night. It went well, but she was noncommittal on studying the Bible with us. She said she would let us know, and I pray she says yes. We have another dinner with two prospects on Saturday. We added seven names to our card list this week (four visited during our Gospel Meeting). It is also now time to make two more transition visits!” Southwest church of Christ, Austin, Texas: Bryce Mayfield (evangelist) reports, “We have four active Bible studies going on and three more that are in the process of being set up. Over the past two months, we have sent over 1,000 cards to visitors, fallen away members, and members. Things are busy for us evangelistically, and we are very thankful for it. All the glory to God!” Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Mel Hutzler (elder) reports, “We are grateful for the ‘can-do’ willing attitude of our congregation. This month, we will follow-up with many visitors, and we asked for help. One of our teen-agers responded, ‘My dad and I can help.’ This was joy to our ears, to have a youth speak up to assist. We had a total of 10 come to do follow-up work. We continue having a steady stream of visitors each Sunday, and we even had some Wednesdays. Our visitor bags and trained members are coming together beautifully. We are meeting and greeting all visitors. Currently, we have four Bible studies and five new converts’ studies ongoing. This week, Raoul Ferris and Kaden Groda will assist the Lord’s church in Comalapa La Paz, El Salvador, and they already have two Bible studies set up. They will be using Does It Matter? in Spanish.” Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “With God’s great blessing and the work of our congregation, we have met our goal of baptisms for this year. Nine souls have been saved. Anthony and Dacaila were immersed in Christ last Monday. This has been a wonderful year. Last Saturday, a number of our members went out to put 900 door hangers on homes around the church building. Kevin Rhodes from Brown Trail School of Preaching will be here November 9-12 for our Gospel Meeting. One of our card teams met Sunday evening, and 45 cards will be mailed out.” Howe church of Christ, Texas: Aaron Alsbrook (preacher) reports, “We are now one year from our HTHSOE visit. It was good to learn new techniques to add to our evangelism tool belt. We have many of the tools that the HTHSOE shared with us in place, and many members are still studying with loved ones. Currently, we have four studies in progress and a continual New Converts class ongoing. Also, we have a continual zeal for loving souls, as our Lord did. We look forward to another year of reaching lost souls and sharing the truth of Jesus with them.” Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “On Tuesday, we were blessed again when God added another soul to His church. This gives us a total of 10 baptisms and one restoration for 2025. We have reorganized our compassion groups and added them to the Sunday morning information slides. We have sent 12 letters to the prodigals, prayed for them, and called each one in an effort to get them back. On Sunday, there was one new local visitor and two return local visitors. We also recognized and presented a completion certificate to our first graduate of the Bobby Bates study guide, Growing in Christ. We have now moved to the study, Acts of the Apostles. We pray for all those who are working to spread the Gospel and pray that all might be led to many opportunities.” West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “We have several ongoing Bible studies, and we are writing cards and making follow-up visits. We are having our second Community Support Day (CSD) on November 14. We will provide coats, non-SNAP items (toothpaste, toilet paper, etc.) and a make-at-home meal. We are prayerful this will yield many new contacts.” NOTE: These reports are from Christians and congregations enrolled in the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism.
