Success Stories: September 23, 2026

Welcome Warrington church of Christ, Pensacola, Florida:  We want to welcome the Warrington church of Christ to the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism.  The attendance was excellent, and they are fired up to begin.  They were very hospitable and studious during our visit.

Glencoe church of Christ, Alabama:  Keith Ritchie (preacher) reports, “During September, the congregation continued its evangelistic outreach through visitors, personal contacts, compassion cards, visits, and Bible studies. September was a fruitful month of outreach. The 143 visitors and 81 compassion cards reflect broad contact with the community, while 27 personal visits and two Bible studies provided opportunities for deeper spiritual conversations. We also have a new brother in Christ, Dawson Brasher. Dawson obeyed the Gospel Saturday night. He is one of our college-age students. Another college-age member also responded when we extended the invitation Sunday. Let’s pray for our youth and young members, that they grow strong in the faith. To God be the glory!”

Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “One of our biggest nights when we usually receive the most new contacts is just a few weeks away. We will host Trunk or Treat.  We are planning for that, along with the daily efforts we are making to have Bible studies with our current contacts.”

Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We had a baptism this week! Praise God! Dustin Burkett has been visiting on and off for a while, and he decided to give his life to Christ last week. We are continuing to write cards and have begun advertising for our Trunk-or-Treat event next month.”

Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Joshua Holloway (preacher) reports, “This past week brought some especially encouraging news. We studied with a man named Randy. Randy Frost had studied with us weekly for several months, but around six months ago, he discontinued the study. This week, however, he reached out and wanted to get together again. After spending an afternoon studying the Bible together, Randy decided to obey the Gospel and was baptized into Christ! We are thankful for his decision and ask everyone to pray for Randy as he begins his new life in Christ. Randy’s baptism is our fourth baptism of 2026! We also continue our other evangelism outreaches and are looking forward to more opportunities in the weeks ahead. We have an upcoming Friends and Neighbors Day, as well as our Fall Festival in October. Both will give us opportunities to invite people from our community and make new contacts for the Gospel. This week, we will be sending out 56 compassion cards. Our September total is 202 cards, and the grand total is 6,414. We appreciate all prayers, and we ask especially for continuing prayers regarding our five regular Bible studies by Brother Randy, and for every person we are trying to reach. May we keep planting and watering and trust God to give the increase!”

70 West church of Christ, Hot Springs, Arkansas: Josh Romo (preacher) reports, “We are continuing the preaching schedule. We asked everyone to get their bookmarks out, and we prayed for those on the bookmark lists. I will preach Part 3 of John 4 on Sunday. The congregation is very excited about what we are doing. We even had to pull on the reins a little because we have folks getting ahead of our training. We have so many who want to get people on our contact list; I am trying to figure out the best way to let them know that we cannot put everyone on it at once!”

Rison church of Christ, Arkansas: Keden Shrum (preacher) reports, “We had one visitor present on Sunday following our door-knocking campaign. She stayed for Bible class but left afterward, saying that she was very tired. We were thankful that she came, and we were able to get her contact information so that we can follow-up with her. Care Team A met Sunday evening and began preparing cards for several of the people we met during the door-knocking campaign, as well as for our visitor. We hope these cards will help us to continue building relationships with those we met. One of our elders, James, and his wife, Karla, began a Bible study with Sherry last week. They said the first study went well, and Lord willing, they will meet with her for their second study this week. We are thankful for these opportunities and for our congregation’s continued involvement following the campaign. We appreciate continuing prayers for the contacts we have made, the relationships we are building, and the Bible studies taking place. Please pray also for more opportunities to teach the Gospel and reach souls.”

Washington Avenue church of Christ, Jonesboro, Arkansas: Parker Pribble (member) reports, “This past week, we had four transition visits scheduled for individuals who had received compassion cards. Our team successfully contacted one individual, and we are currently looking into benevolence work for her. Continuing from last week’s lessons, Austin (preacher) gave lessons on Book 2 of Back to the Bible this Sunday. We learned that this booklet focuses primarily on the church and tackles important subjects like who established the church, how it is to be organized, and how it is to conduct worship. Once again, the congregation filled out the answers to the questions as Austin preached. During the morning service, a sister came forward to respond to the invitation. She expressed that she had not been as faithful as she needed to be, and one of the elders offered a prayer to God on her behalf. We are so glad for her tender heart, and we rejoice as a congregation because she has been restored. We also rejoice as one of our members used the Back to the Bible books to study with his grandson, which led him to obey the Gospel this last week! After services, Card Team 3 met and filled out 85 total cards for five prospects. We also had one visitor this week, whom a member of our visitor team quickly sought out. He was offered a gift bag, and we filled out a contact card to ensure we could begin sending cards to him.”

Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “This past week, the youth ministry presented several opportunities for evangelism. The first was our annual county fair. Each year, we host a booth at the fair so we can interact with people from our community, introduce them to the church, and collect contact information for our Compassion Card ministry. While this year’s fair was not as well attended as in previous years, likely due in part to the unseasonably warm weather, we were still able to meet many people and collect information that we hope will lead to future Bible studies. The fair also provides an excellent opportunity for members who may not feel confident leading a Bible study themselves to participate in the church’s evangelistic efforts. Simply being willing to interact with people, build relationships, and help make connections can play an important role in reaching others with the Gospel. We also rejoice in the baptism of Shawn Benedict, the father of two of our young girls. Shawn was raised in the church and was baptized at a young age along with several of his friends. However, as he recently reflected on that decision, he became convicted that he had not really understood what he was doing at the time and had simply followed the example of his friends. Our youth minister, Chris, recently had the opportunity to baptize Shawn. The conversation that ultimately led to Shawn’s decision began with a very simple question. While Chris was looking for teachers for an upcoming youth event, he simply asked Shawn, ‘Have you been baptized?’ That straightforward question opened the door to a much deeper conversation about Shawn’s faith and his previous baptism. It is a good reminder that sometimes evangelism begins with nothing more complicated than asking a sincere question. There may be people around us who are already convicted or searching, and a simple question may be exactly what God uses to help them take the next step. God is good, and we are thankful for every opportunity He gives us to share the Gospel and see people respond to it.”

Northside church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Larry Keener (elder) reports, “Northside in Harrison transitioned to Sunday evening work groups and will encourage participation from recent visitors and returning members. Card ministry continues to keep many busy each Sunday morning. Yesterday, Team 1 sent out cards to 11 contacts. Transition visits are ongoing. All glory to God.”

Harrisburg church of Christ, Arkansas: Mark Weston (elder) reports, “This past week, we worked to get our new member packets delivered. We still have a few to go, but we are making good progress. It is so nice to meet new people and welcome them to our community. I have heard nothing but good comments from all of those delivering these packets. We are currently working with about 26 prospects. Some of them are in the visit stage, so we need to get those scheduled soon. This seems to be an area that has proven difficult for us, but we are trying to work through the problems. I had a good Bible study this past week with a friend who has been visiting for some time. It went well, and I told him about the lesson I was going to give Sunday on ‘What Is Keeping You from Obeying?’ He was excited about that and very appreciative that I took the time to come talk with him. I assured him that it was not directly aimed at him, although if some of the things were applicable to his situation, he should please consider them.  He came Sunday morning, but this extreme heat has worn him down. He is not well and has cancer that keeps him frail at times. He was not feeling well at all and left after Bible class. He will watch it on YouTube, and I look forward to following up with him after he does that. We met last night and signed another 50 compassion cards to be mailed this week. That continues to be a work that our members really enjoy. It certainly is one of the most valuable keys to the success of this program. We appreciate all prayers for the efforts being put forth here; we pray they will bring forth fruit. God is Good!”

Concord Street church of Christ, Orlando, Florida: Billy Dickson (evangelist) reports, “Please continue to pray for our new converts and the ongoing work of evangelism at Concord Street. Our New Convert’s class was well attended last week, and we are encouraged to see our recently baptized members continuing to participate and grow in their faith. They were also greatly encouraged to receive cards from the Central church of Christ in Calhoun, Georgia. We are very thankful for their continued love and encouragement toward our new brothers and sisters in Christ. Please continue to pray for our new converts, those who are studying the Bible, and the prospects we are working to reach. We are thankful for the many congregations and individuals who are encouraging us in this work.”

Oceanside Church of Christ, Atlantic Beach, Florida: Wesley Green (Chairman) reports, “In the men’s meeting, the brother established the main coordinators for the evangelism model: Overall Administrator: Mike Wencel; Contacts: Kevin Walker; Prospects: Victor Eskew; and Conversion: Wesley Green. In Bible class, we presented training to the congregation on each position. There are a few sub-coordinator positions, and members volunteered to fill them. Although all the positions are important, I want to acknowledge Mrs. Kristin King & Mrs. Elizabeth Flynn for their willingness to take on the compassion cards position. About five women volunteered to decorate the church foyer. We have a tentative start date for the SOE program: November 1, 2026. We still need to train more door and pew greeters, and conduct role-playing. The men of the congregation are working hard to execute the SOE program.”

Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Tom Neth (deacon) reports, “Visitors can lift the spirits of any congregation. We have been working hard to invite people, and most weeks we have a few visitors in our assembly. This week, we had more than 100. One of our elders was attending a family reunion and encouraged his family to come worship with us. We knew we needed to prepare for extra visitors, but even with that preparation, there was not an empty seat in the building. What an awesome day for our congregation. Seeing so many people come through our doors encouraged all of us and reminded us what can happen when we simply invite people to come and worship with us. We continue our normal outreach efforts as well. We are sending out compassion cards, following up with visitors and contacts, and looking for opportunities to turn those contacts into relationships and Bible studies. This week also gave us many new contacts to work through, which gives us plenty of opportunities to follow up in the weeks ahead. We currently have three active Bible studies and have seen 17 baptisms year to date.”

Milestone church of Christ, Cantonment, Florida: Randy Brantley (elder) reports, “We had two visitors on Sunday. Jerry and Patricia were able to start a Bible study with their chiropractor and went through the first lesson in Back to the Bible. They are planning to study Lesson 2 with her this week. Ray went through Does it Matter? in his sermon the last two weeks. “

Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “This week we kicked off our ‘Unashamed’ Class. This is a six-week special study to train people how to connect and set up a study and introduce them to the materials they can use. Sixteen people attended. It was a wide variety of people, from two recent converts to two elders, two youth, and other adults, young and old. We sent 16 cards and had seven visitors. One family of three placed membership. We had two studies this week.”

Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “The Woodstock church of Christ (WCOC) has several projects in store. We have been visiting/studying/providing devotional services to a Living Assisted Living Facility. We are expanding that to include another Assisted Living Facility.  We hope for a good turnout at this new facility, which begins on Tuesday.  One of our prayers is to bring back an erring church member. We appreciate all prayers. The Prison Ministry Group is still working to gather volunteers and get them cleared. We hope Bible study will resume soon. The HTH Door Knocking Campaign knocked on eighty doors and made thirteen contacts. Of these thirteen, four will be on our prospect list (follow-up list). The Compassion group sent out six compassion cards. At Sunday morning worship, we had five visitors. We conducted seven Bible studies.”

Cumming church of Christ, Georgia: Murphy O’Brien (member) reports, “Last week there were no new contacts, so our total is 65 for the year. No new visitor information was collected last week, leaving the yearly total at 19. We made two visitor follow-ups last week, and we have followed up with 57 visitors so far this year. Three cards were sent last week, for a yearly total of 677. There are currently 24 prospects. No Bible studies were held last week, though 46 have been held this year. There were no baptisms last week, and one baptism has taken place so far this year.”

Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “We have begun prospecting our contacts from Friends and Family Day. The emphasis on inviting people to that event has encouraged members to continue inviting others to services. The HTHSOE Student Program has enrolled two more students. One of our current students had studied with a mother and her daughter who were baptized. Barry (student) has continued studying with them, which has opened the door for the husband/father to begin studying. This same family has been bringing a neighbor to services.”

Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “We are excited we knocked 105 doors and made contact with 31, so our total contacts are 34. We are hoping and praying that of these contacts we get some prospects. We were hoping for some visitors from our door knocking, but when we got to the building Sunday morning, we had no water! The city of Gray had no water, and still, as I am writing this, there is no water. So we are hoping we will have visitors next week; we plan to follow up with contacts we feel will become prospects. Now for some more exciting news. We had seven in attendance, and we had seven that knocked on doors. How many congregations can say that they had 100 percent participation? We have more doors to knock. One young couple said they were looking for a small church to worship with, but since the water was out, I am sure that is why they did not show up; now follow-up is necessary!”

Honolulu church of Christ, Hawaii: Tagiillima Esene (regional trainer) reports, “Aloha from the Honolulu congregation. We continue with Bible studies with four souls. This past Sunday, we had a Bible Teacher Appreciation Day. We honored and celebrated all those who taught Bible class last year and those who are continuing the work going forward. Our Bible classes are part of our work of evangelism. Teaching God’s word is an important part of making disciples. We have been blessed this year with many who desire to serve as teachers of God’s Word. We appreciate all prayers.”

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “Evangelism is the mission of the Lord’s church. The challenge is getting the local church to get involved. We have had 34 baptisms since October 2024. We named our evangelism program ‘Servants of Souls,’ (SOS for short). We currently have about 18 percent of our congregation involved. We do not let this affect the work; we keep going. I want to encourage readers: Do not grow weary; keep going! This past week we concluded BTTB Book 3 and baptized Larry and Monica into Christ. We began our study in May. Two new converts invited them. They both realized they were lost and took action. They were so excited about becoming Christians that they could hardly contain themselves; they nearly outran me to the baptistry. Class had just started last Wednesday, and the church came into the auditorium and witnessed the saving of two precious souls. Our Seed Sowers work very hard to create contacts and get studies. We mailed 41 compassion cards. We conducted four Bible studies. One study is with a teenager whose family is Catholic. She admits the Catholic church is not the Lord’s church. She also admits she wants to be in Christ. She is underage, so we will have to get permission to baptize her when the time comes. We will study with her again this Wednesday.”

Beloit church of Christ, Kansas: Dustin Doughtery (regional trainer) reports, “We had another small group for our assembly on Sunday, but we continued education in the adult class for using the Believe the Bible booklets. It has led to several good discussions during class. It is helping reaffirm believers and teaching members how to conduct studies with people who are unbelieving. To God be the glory.”

Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (elder) reports, “We were blessed to finally begin a formal study with Jimmy and Trisha this week. They have been visiting for some time, but scheduling a study had proven difficult. Thankfully, we were able to get it underway, and both truly enjoyed studying the first book of Back to the Bible. Another study will occur, likely next week. We also continue to make reminder announcements concerning hosting AMC next June. We are trying to announce this every two or three weeks right now and will get far more specific later this year. We are hoping the excitement builds and builds!”

Carriage Oaks church of Christ, Shreveport, Louisiana: Andrew Wynne (preacher) reports, “We are off to a great start at the Carriage Oaks church of Christ this week. Team 1 met last Wednesday to write compassion cards. Today we had a good crowd. Over 100 attended our morning worship service, which included several visitors. I preached through Part 2 of Back to the Bible, Book 2. This afternoon, we had a training class on the transition visit. We are scheduled to visit our prospects on October 11. Overall, the congregation is doing well and going in the right direction with our evangelism efforts. We appreciate all prayers for our efforts.”

La Plata church of Christ, Maryland: Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “We had a productive week at the La Plata church of Christ. The saints wrote 80 compassion cards, and our transition team completed three transition visits and delivered two transition gifts. We also had an encouraging evangelism opportunity come to fruition this week. A few weeks ago, after Sunday morning worship, we visited one of our seniors and dropping off a bucket of KFC. While there, we met one of their neighbors who had recently moved into the neighborhood. He asked if we would drop off some chicken for him, and we told him we could do even better than that. We promised to return with a new mover gift basket, which includes a dinner and an invitation to church. We also said that if they came to worship service, we would take him out to lunch or dinner—his choice. We had been carrying the new mover gift basket in our car for the past couple of weeks, but each time we were in the neighborhood visiting one of our seniors, the neighbor was not home. By the providence of God, we finally caught up with them this past Thursday and delivered the gift basket. He was genuinely surprised and thought we had forgotten about our promise. The neighbor promised to visit, and true to his word, Chris came to worship service on Sunday and said he really enjoyed it. He had to take a rain check on lunch but said he would be back. Please keep this evangelism effort—and Chris—in your prayers. This week, Jaumale and Tabetha conducted a ‘Young Davids & Proverbs 31’ class for our youth group. The class, titled ‘Built Different—Friendships That Honor God,’ focused on Proverbs 17:17: ‘A friend loves at all times…’ Please keep us in prayer as we evangelize our community and raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

Waldorf church of Christ, Maryland: Joseph Day (member) reports, “Our adult Bible classes have reviewed the Does it Matter?, Believe in the Bible, and Back to the Bible series. This helped equip the congregation to conduct studies with the lost. This week we processed 28 compassion cards to our contacts. We had one visitor on Sunday. I am including pictures from our Community Day that I mentioned last week.”

Oak Grove church of Christ, Missouri: David Wiseman (elder) reports, “We have had a very encouraging couple of weeks. Keno Shrum was with us for three days. He gave us ideas to refine some of our processes. We were definitely blessed having Keno and Jamie with us. It worked out really well since the next Saturday we went door knocking. The door knocking was a big success, and we had our largest group to show up and help. We came away with numerous completed contact cards. We also had some folks stating they will visit our services soon. We continue to have five or six visitors each week at services. We have one current Bible study going and another study close to beginning. Our activity leads to enthusiasm for the work.”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “We had two restorations this past week. A sister came forward Wednesday night, and another sister came forward on Sunday morning. These were two unrelated situations, but the church received them with kindness and forgiveness. We are very proud of their examples. This past Saturday, we had the Aberdeen Ladies’ Day, which was well attended, and many ladies were encouraged and had a good time. Two out of our three visitors this past Sunday were from the Ladies’ Day, so we were blessed to have some church prospects from the Ladies’ Day! We gave them welcome packets and got their contact information. The third visitor was a young man who was asking about the best way to study the Bible, so he will be a great prospect for the church. I introduced him to our Evangelism Table. I divided the areas of the table, with the right side being for Christians who want to study more and grow more to prepare themselves to eventually have Bible studies, and the left side for those ready to have Bible studies with some tools like Bible booklets and invitation cards. They can use these materials to lead their family and friends into Bible studies. The young man was very interested in the WVBS app and a Bible reading schedule. This Saturday, we have the Aberdeen church’s first annual Door Knocking Day. We have six group leaders who are ready to go; each leader is excited to have a team. This Saturday also marks the start of the next class in the Magnolia Bible Institute. We are excited to have people from the community who are not Christians coming to the Aberdeen church of Christ building to learn about the Bible!”

Iuka church of Christ, Mississippi: Sam Glover (preacher) reports, “It has been a while, but we have good news to share. Our Gospel Meeting last week resulted in several contacts. We will follow up with at least five contacts, and cards are being sent. A long-time ‘visitor’ started bringing a friend. In addition, a couple that had been unable to attend regularly for several years has confirmed their desire to come back and be consistent. Finally, and best of all, one of our members studied with a family member this last weekend, and I had the privilege of baptizing this person into Christ. The work is often slow, but it is getting done; we get to see results, and we get to see God glorified in all of it.”

Fulton church of Christ, Mississippi: Richard Comer (member) reports, “We continue to send about 20 cards per week. We have two ongoing Bible studies. We plan to door-knock this weekend and again on October 4.”

Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Terry Hale (member), “We request continued prayers for a Bible study that is going very well. The study has reached the point where the prospect has a decision to make. We are also setting up another study. Our training continues with teachers preparing them to use all the tools. We had three visitors on Sunday, who seemed to be impressed with how they were greeted. Our New Convert class continues to be going well.”

Glendale Street church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina (remote): Dayle Taylor (minister) reports, “Prospects – We were blessed to welcome a returning visitor this week. The husband of a restored member attended worship after the restored member left the Bible study, went home, and brought him back for worship. This is an encouraging example of letting one’s light shine at home and giving glory to God. The couple also spent an evening with a teaching couple from the congregation, providing another opportunity to strengthen relationships. Building genuine relationships remains an important part of evangelism. We appreciate prayers as we continue seeking lost souls and following the example our Lord has given us. New Converts – None of our new converts attended this week. One was ill, one couple is relocating their family, another was working, and one continues to struggle with attendance despite our ongoing efforts to reach out. We appreciate continuing prayers for these young babes in Christ; we do not want them to be drawn away by the cares of this world. We remain committed to encouraging and strengthening them as we work to ‘shut the back door.’ Two members who were previously restored are also struggling with attendance. One attended Sunday, while the other has not yet been reached. We will continue our efforts to make contact and offer encouragement.”

Oak Forest church of Christ, Goldsboro, North Carolina: Dennis May (elder) reports, “We had two visitors this Sunday. This was a teacher who is from the Philippines. She has made friends with one of our members. She is a Catholic. She has made friends with another member here who was raised as a Catholic. They have become fast friends, and she seems very interested in talking with her about her becoming a Christian. We are praying that these two Christians friends continue to influence their new friend. This Sunday afternoon our Compassion Group wrote 101 cards. Today two ladies were able to come to the church and make 15 new mover baskets. On Sunday, another member delivered one of the new mover baskets and invited the young lady to Oak Forest. Another delivery took 3 baskets on Sunday afternoon, and I have not heard if he was successful. Hopefully, I will be able to hear from him tomorrow. I have asked 31 of our members who volunteered to be a part of developing a community activity surrounding Trunk or Treat and a Fall Festival event at Oak Forest. Hopefully I will hear back from them soon.”

Linville Forest church of Christ, Kernersville, North Carolina: Steve Hare (elder) reports, “We rejoice that Angela Beard was baptized into Christ after the evening service this past Sunday. Shortly after moving into the neighborhood, Angela began receiving House-to-House each month. After reading the articles for several months, she realized her beliefs aligned more closely with what she was learning than with her former denomination. This led her to visit our congregation, where she enjoyed the lessons and began researching the churches of Christ for confirmation. When she asked how someone ‘joins the church,’ it opened the door to walk through Acts 2 together. After about six months of study and conversations, we finally asked what was holding her back. Once we clarified a few doctrinal points, she joyfully said she was ready—and we baptized her into Christ. (As a note: Angela serves as the Head Chaplain at our local hospital and was previously an ordained minister in the Baptist church).”

Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Goodwell, Oklahoma: Isaiah Sprouse (evangelist) reports, “While this week was discouraging because our Bible studies were canceled, we were able to reschedule one of them for next week. This week has allowed us to see the value of prayer and constant work as it is evident that the devil is planting as well (Matthew 13:24-30). We have an opportunity to host a Door-Knocking Day here in Goodwell. We hope this brings unity with surrounding congregations as we learn this valuable relationship-building technique.”

Grove church of Christ, Oklahoma: Juan Jarmillo (preacher) reports, “This past week was quite eventful for us. Last Tuesday we got together and assigned transition visits. We learned a five-step process for building a relationship to obtain a Bible study in the future, or maybe even on the spot. We also highlighted the importance of not giving up on our past contacts. For example, one of our past prospects had a life-changing event, and we will jump on the opportunity to show this family the love of Christ and show them they are not alone! Furthermore, I had a Bible study with a young man of our congregation, which went very well, especially since he invited his friend. We went through the study of Jesus from Believe the Bible, and we have another Bible study set up for this Saturday! I also invited one of the young men from the congregation, who is friends with them, to be my silent partner. Overall, we know we will grow because God will be with us as we work faithfully!”

New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) reports, “Great News! My wife Linda and I have been studying with a young lady named Jen Roberts, and she obeyed the Gospel Wednesday evening (picture included). We studied Back to the Bible with her. We had four visitors at services on Sunday morning, two of whom have attended in the past. Our ‘New Mover’ teams have been going out welcoming these folks to the community and introducing the church to them (a small gift bag is given to each new mover household). We are excited about our Fall Gospel Meeting, which begins this Sunday. Over 175 cards were sent out to past compassion card recipients inviting them to the meeting, as well as our annual community Thanksgiving Day Meal in November. Two of our young families are coordinating a ‘Trunk or Treat’ for next month. They are working on posting flyers all over town, and they also gave out take-home notes announcing the event to local elementary students. It should be a great evening of fun, food, and fellowship, as well as a golden opportunity to get people on the church property where we hope to encourage and share the love of Christ with them. Also, the local police department has asked to use our facilities later this fall for a community-wide senior fraud seminar (a three-hour seminar teaching our seniors what to look for so that they will not be scammed). The church will be providing space and snacks for the event. This will be another great opportunity to get folks inside our building where they can learn what we teach and what we do.”

Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “We had several returning visitors yesterday but no new contacts. We sent 38 compassion cards, and we have two prospects. Our elders have implemented ‘Impact Sunday.’ Starting on October 25, we are having morning services, a fellowship meal, and specific evangelism activities set up to encourage everyone to be involved. Then after a short devotion, we will begin the evangelism efforts.”

Owasso church of Christ, Oklahoma: David Combs (elder) reports, “For the month of September, we have had three visitors and four prospects, and we made five visits. We have sent 198 cards and have had eight Bible studies. This week, we had one new prospect and two new visitors, and we wrote 62 cards.”

Marietta church of Christ, Oklahoma (remote): Chase Green (preacher) reports, “We have had a quiet few weeks, but our members are still ready to work. We are learning from experience right now. Unfortunately, the couple that had been attending since VBS has stopped attending. I think they might have been offended in some way, but I am not sure. We are looking forward to having Rob in January, Lord willing. We have a lot of workers, but we just need some more refining in our methods. On a very positive note, I preached a sermon yesterday on the prophecies in Micah 4, Isaiah 2, Daniel 2, and Joel 2, and their fulfillment in Acts 2, and a lady who had been attending for a while responded to the invitation and obeyed the Gospel!  She stated that she had been baptized at a young age in ‘the holiness church’ but did not remember it, and having been taught better, she wanted to obey the Gospel for sure. We have also been trying to invest time in our young ‘20-somethings’ by having them over at our house, and it has been going over really well. One young man in his 20s has been sharing with me a lot of zeal for my sermons, and he also did a great job leading a prayer for the first time last night. He was also one of our door knockers recently. Overall, I think the congregation here is poised for growth. With a little more fine-tuning, our evangelistic efforts are going to be in great shape!”

Barnes church of Christ, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: John Bellah (member) reports, “During the week, we were given contact information for a lady who is having some health difficulties and desired to improve her spiritual condition. Randy Warner and his wife Cheryl visited and began studying with her and will continue working with her. On Sunday morning, Brant Stubblefield preached a sermon titled ‘The Cry of the Coward,’ taken from Revelation 21:8, encouraging us to be bolder in our faith. After the sermon, we prayed for those on our bookmarks. During our second service, Brant and Randy studied with Aaron, who has been visiting with one of our members. While we had wrapped up training on transition visits, we were happily interrupted with his baptism into Christ. We rejoice in the growth of the Kingdom!”

Saint Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (minister) reports, “We had one visitor who recently moved into the community, and we obtained her contact information after giving her a visitor’s bag. Also, a visitor to whom we have been sending cards came back this past Sunday, and he brought his father with him. We will continue training with our transition visit teams next week.”

Covington church of Christ, Tennessee: Wayne Dalrymple (elder) reports, “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” (Psalm 133:1). This was a wonderful week for the churches in Tipton County! We had our first-ever Area-Wide Gospel Meeting where all the churches in the county cooperated to reach out into the community. We had good attendance each night, including several visitors from the community. Instead of holding it at one of our church buildings, we were able to use the gym of one of our local middle schools. We felt this provided a location that promoted the idea that no single congregation was ‘in charge’ while also being more inviting to members of the community. Everyone involved expressed the desire to continue this work in the coming years. This Sunday, we had several visitors that we were able to greet and get their information. One woman came two nights to the Gospel Meeting and then came to our service Sunday morning. We are excited to follow up with these new prospects. Jeff’s Bible class at the local school will begin next Tuesday afternoon. He plans to cover a survey of the Bible starting with Creation. Several parents and others have told him they are planning to attend the class. May God bless these efforts to spread the seed of the Kingdom.”

Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “Our work continues to go well at the Freewill congregation. We have rebooted our compassion card ministry and have added three more new prospects to our list. We give God the glory. We are praying for all congregations.”

West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “Here is a picture of our billboard. We are also getting ready for, in a couple of weeks, what is called in our town the Liberty Square Celebration. We also have a tent and a booth set up at this, and this year we are planning to get people signed up for either an in-person Bible study or a correspondence course study. And we are going to try and promote this there; for anyone who will sign up, we are going to give them an Apologetics Press Bible.”

Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “We are preparing for our Trunk & Treat event, which is our biggest annual community outreach project. Our guests will be invited to join us in the fellowship hall for a meal prior to the festivities. Tim, one of our deacons, has compiled an email mailing list of those who have participated in previous events, such as our recent Backpack and School Supplies Giveaway. This will allow us to extend invitations to them for Trunk & Treat and other future outreach events. We had several new visitors Sunday, including a couple who relocated here from South Carolina. They plan to join us for Wednesday Bible study and a meal.”

Soddy church of Christ, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “We continue to labor in the Kingdom of our Lord, longing to spread the Gospel of Christ. We are in the middle of a study titled Tested and True: The Authority and Inspiration of the Bible. Last week, each student received a copy of Believe the Bible: Book 2 to better comprehend how God’s Word provides evidence of the inspiration and authority of Scripture. We hope all were challenged to think of someone who needs to hear that message. We appreciate all prayers as we strive to continue to reach out to our friends and family to share the good news of the Gospel!”

Southern Hills church of Christ, Franklin, Tennessee: Freddie Klein (preacher) reports, “Since our initial new movers meeting, others have stepped forward asking to help with the program. This Sunday, we also met to plan our Fall Festival, an outreach event with great potential to connect us with many new families and contacts. This week I am in Cleveland, Tennessee, holding a meeting. Please join us in praying for visitors and open hearts, and that God will give the increase as we sow the seed.”

White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “This week we had 17 visitors; one family went to lunch. We are sending out 110 cards this week. We are doing transition visits this Thursday night. Hopefully, we will have at least the amount of helpers we had last time.”

Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “We continue to work to reach the lost. We are still having a steady amount of visitors. Our Community Table kicked off last week, so we will continue to use it to welcome the community before our Wednesday night Bible study. Our card writing teams continue to meet weekly to write to several contacts that have been submitted by our congregation. We continue to pray for Bible studies that are going on among our congregation.”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “Our greeting initiatives yield additional benefits that strengthen the congregation. Over the past three Wednesday evenings, three couples have met with the elders to submit to the spiritual oversight of the Mountain Creek Eldership. After reviewing their spiritual background and related matters, we asked about their motivation for this decision. Each couple attributed their choice to the consistent, welcoming atmosphere they experienced upon entering the building, which extended through Bible classes and the worship assembly. They noted that while they had visited other congregations—where perhaps one or two individuals acknowledged their presence—our congregation demonstrated a deliberate, authentic greeting process over several months. Although these individuals were already members of the body of Christ, they recognized that this approach also applied to non-members as part of our evangelistic efforts. This past Sunday, a young couple arrived slightly late to the assembly. Afterward, numerous members approached them to offer a greeting. A few members then approached me to make sure I had met the young couple and to report their interaction. I was particularly impressed because the couple was in Chattanooga for their honeymoon, having married the previous day. Upon learning they would be in town for the week, one of our young adult couples invited them to our Wednesday Bible study.”

Rome church of Christ, Lebanon, Tennessee (remote): David Oxley reports, “We had a baptism and a new family place membership this week. We are sending cards to two new prospects this week. We will be scheduling visits in October. Our New Converts’ class will meet Wednesday night.”

Rivergate church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “On Wednesday night, we had three visitors. We have classes specifically for men and ladies that seem to be good at drawing some visitors. On Sunday morning, we had nine visitors. On Sunday night, we had one visitor.
We had one transition visit last week. He responded in prayer for forgiveness and health on Sunday night.”

Birdwell Chapel church of Christ, Cottontown, Tennessee: Kerry England (elder) reports, “On Sunday morning, we had several visitors, which is always exciting! We received our new movers’ contacts and will be passing out cards to make those visits this week. Several ladies are working on a cookbook with some of our favorite recipes. It will also include some information on the congregation. This will soon be included with our gift baskets for new movers. This Saturday evening, we are having a BBQ Bash. We are inviting friends and neighbors so we can all get better acquainted. Compassion Card Team 2 mailed invitations to the individuals who have attended other events this summer.”

Southwest church of Christ, Austin, Texas: Bryce Mayfield (evangelist) reports, “One of our new converts, Jake Opyd, has recently been having discussions and Bible studies with his best friend concerning the church. His friend, Jordan Uveges, was not a Christian. After a conversation about the essential nature of baptism, Jordan wanted to learn more. Jake used Does It Matter? to study with Jordan, and we baptized him for the remission of his sins! It has been such an encouragement to watch a new convert become involved in the mission of the church. Jordan also has a girlfriend whom we are prospecting, and we hope to have an opportunity to study with her soon. I regret to say that I did not take any pictures, but it was truly a joyous day! Also, our Young Professionals group has been meeting on Thursdays, focusing on evangelism. We challenged the group to make contacts, and the results have been incredible. One member asked a waitress if they could pray for her as they blessed their food—contact made! Another offered his coworker a free Bible and has been writing Scripture on his bulletin board—contact made! Another asked the woman who makes her coffee every day if she needed prayers. It turns out she is looking for a church home—contact made! I am still compiling all the data, but our efforts are working. We are now prospecting so that we can find the few among the many who are searching for the truth. We appreciate all prayers and all those who work to encourage evangelism. We know that God is glorified through it all!”

Burkburnett church of Christ, Texas: Jamie Beller (preacher) reports, “On Sunday, September 20, 2026, we had eight visitors from the community (six adults and two children). Our Bible class focused on Prospects from John 1. Our Wednesday Men’s class is focused on training others to teach while also addressing leadership and evangelism. We have had two Bible studies, 14 contacts, and five prospects.   Our Wednesday evening Men’s class is focused on training teachers to follow the model and teach. Currently, there are 11 men in the class. Two of our ladies, Pam West and Myca Beller, have organized the compassion cards and are beginning to mail cards to visitors and erring members.”

Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Koide Martin (evangelist) reports, “We are continuing to work hard here in Seagoville, and it is continuing to bear fruit. Transition visits have started positively, and we have at least one study lined up with the husband of a member here at the church. She has been a good influence for him (1 Peter 3:1-2), and we have finally broken through the ‘hard soil.’ We pray that this will lead to something great! We also began a ‘family roundhouse’ that was a great success. While this is a good opportunity for our teens to bond with members, we also believe we can use it effectively for evangelism in the future.”

Vidor church of Christ, Texas: Johnie Scaggs (preacher) reports, “We are in the middle of our Gospel Meeting with Mike Hixon.  We are starting this Sunday. Keep us in your prayers as we focus on the lost.”

Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “We continue to study with the newly baptized woman this afternoon (Monday), and I have a scheduled study for tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon with the young man who is still contemplating baptism.”

Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Rob McNicol (elder) reports, “We have four Bible studies going on along with seven in our New Convert’s class.  We’re working on training members who are reaching out to their friends and families.  Several recently baptized young men are training to participate more in services.”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (evangelist) reports, “Last Sunday, our New Movers group met to prepare materials for 49 families who have moved into our area. Also, one of our Compassion Card teams met to write cards to our visitors and some who needed encouragement. I had a study scheduled with a visitor we had a week ago who is Chinese. She texted me and let me know an emergency conflict came up, and she said she would reschedule. We also had a family visit that is looking for a church home. Wade is preaching a Gospel Meeting in West Virginia this week. Pray for his efforts as well.”

Whitehouse church of Christ, Texas: Cody Stewart (evangelist) reports, “This past Sunday, our Administrator, Doug, met with the coordinators who have been selected to lead the areas that we are preparing to implement. We are beginning the training of our door greeters and pew greeters, as well as planning community service events and door-knocking campaigns to generate additional contacts. This week, the lessons on ‘It’s Quantity, Not Quality’ and the Visitor training cards were given at the morning and evening services. We continue to prospect regular visitors in our services by inviting them to meals and other fellowship events. We currently have three ongoing Bible studies.”

Stratford church of Christ, Texas: Chad Theis (coordinator) reports, “This past week, we were blessed to welcome 15 visitors to our congregation. As part of our ongoing outreach efforts, we sent 16 compassion cards to encourage others and let them know that we love and care about them. We also had the opportunity to conduct two Bible studies. We are thankful for these opportunities to connect with others, share God’s Word, and continue planting and watering the seed of the Gospel!”

Bridge Avenue church of Christ, Weslaco, Texas: Braulio Carvajal (preacher) reports, “This week we sent out 150 compassion cards, knocked on 50 doors, and made several contacts.  We will follow up on those contacts by sending out more cards.  Last Thursday, we had a booth for our congregation at a local festival and handed out lots of literature, along with invitations to church services. We have had good attendance in our New Converts’ classes, have three ongoing Bible studies, and had 16 visitors this week. God continues to bless us.”

Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “I am looking forward to preaching and evangelizing. After a few weeks off because of our newborn, I am energized and ready to get back to the Lord’s work! We have multiple studies taking place, and we have multiple prospects!”

North Jefferson church of Christ, Mount Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (associate minister) reports,
“Reach Team 4 met yesterday and wrote cards. On Sunday evening, we talked to the congregation about our visitor teams and our plan to set up door greeters. This past week, Austin and I almost finished Book 2 with Nathali; we hope to meet again this week. Scott and/or Jena and I will begin Book 1 with Zamya on Wednesday. Joe (recurring visitor) agreed to study the Bible with me next Sunday morning during our Bible class hour; we will begin Book 1 together. Dad met with Oscar this week, but due to private circumstances, he was unable to progress in the Bible study. Hopefully, they will continue this next week. On Saturday, we took our youth to jump; the kids who brought the most visitors chose where we went. Twelve visitors (seven children and five parents) came with us!”

Abingdon church of Christ, Virginia: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “Abingdon knocked on about 20 doors for Door Knocking Day, resulting in about ten contacts we need to follow up with. Seven people came out to knock on doors, even though it was basically a last-minute effort. As a new congregation, we are still figuring out who needs to fill which evangelism roles, but I was encouraged by the volunteers who came out. Then, on Sunday, a mother and daughter returned after visiting for the first time a few weeks ago. They brought the stack of about 15 cards we sent them since their first visit. They said they think they have found their church home. Neither of them is a New Testament Christian, so please pray for these ladies. Every week we have visitors. This is an area where we will need to concentrate our efforts. The fields are white unto harvest!”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “This week, we were blessed with three contacts from local visitors. Currently, we have two Bible studies in progress. We are encouraged that one of the Bible studies may result in a young man obeying the Gospel. One of the prospects attended our Friday night Men’s Bible study. We had to reschedule our door-knocking event to September 26 to help one of our widows move to another home. May God bless all who teach and preach the Gospel.”

West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Chris French (minister) reports, “We are thankful to celebrate the return of one of our brothers who has ‘come home.’ As a teenager, he was an active part of our congregation, eagerly serving the Lord and sharing his many God-given talents. As life brought its challenges, he gradually stepped away from his faith and from the fellowship of the church. Yet throughout those years, his physical family and his church family did not give up on him. They continued to love him, pray for him, and be there for him. We rejoice that, when he was ready, he chose to return to his ‘first love’ and renew his commitment to following Christ. We are grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside him as he continues this journey of faith. We will keep encouraging, supporting, and praying for him as he grows in his renewed relationship with the Lord. Above all, we give thanks for the patience, mercy, and longsuffering of our loving God—a God who never gives up on us and who welcomes us home when we turn our hearts back to Him.”
