Success Stories: September 9, 2026

Welcome Vidor church of Christ, Texas: We want to welcome the Vidor church of Christ to the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. Brother Johnie Scaggs and the congregation’s committed eldership are ready to train their membership on how to reach the lost. They have incredible potential with the large populations that surround the building. Please pray for their efforts.

Glencoe church of Christ, Alabama: Keith Ritchie (evangelist) reports, “The Glencoe congregation had an excellent Friends and Family Day. We made at least 5 contacts. Visitors were met with a warm welcome and a room filled with free Bibles and Bible related materials for them to take with them. Jimmy Clark kicked off our Arise to Truth Lectures. A Bible study was added this week as well. The first study went very well, and the second Bible study is set up for this weekend. Lord willing, we will make new contacts this week and the seed will be planted on good and honest hearts. To God be the glory!!”

Petersville church of Christ, Florence, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “Petersville sent 42 compassion cards last week. We also finished a successful church retreat with over 100 members thinking about the future of the church here. One contact attended the retreat and had several promising conversations that we hope are planting seeds for study.  Our next major event will be trunk or treat at the end of October, and we are looking ahead at ways to make that evangelistically focused.”

Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “We met this past Sunday for our mission meal and assigned ten new visits. We also re-emphasized our goal of not only making visits but also working to get a Bible study. We are four years into this method of evangelism and still going strong. The congregation continues to look for contacts and opportunities.”

Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We’ve been working on setting up a Bible study with a couple that has been visiting regularly. They’ve already expressed interest in placing membership. The House to House/Heart to Heart publication is supposed to be going out this month to 1000 homes in our area. Hopefully, we will yield some results from that.”

Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Joshua Holloway (preacher) reports, “We are thankful for the continued opportunities God is giving us to share the Gospel! We are currently studying three days a week with a woman named Casey, who continues to show a sincere interest in God’s Word.” At this time, we are also studying with three new converts as we strengthen and encourage them in their new walk with Christ. In addition, we have active Bible studies with five non-Christians. We are especially thankful that two of our deacons are actively involved in Bible studies, helping us spread the work of evangelism throughout the congregation. This week, we will be sending out 73 compassion cards. September Total: 73 cards. Grand Total: 6,285 cards. We request continued prayers for Casey, our new converts, each person studying the Bible, and all those working to reach the lost.”

70 West church of Christ, Hot Springs, Arkansas: Josh Romo (preacher) reports, “We did the post-seminar survey yesterday and recapped the workshop yesterday evening. We are doing the preaching/training schedule and will focus on that schedule next week.”

Bergman church of Christ, Arkansas: Vince Stewart (preacher) reports, “Last Friday we did our ‘Soles for Souls’ backpack drive for our local students. One of our members is a retired teacher who knew the needs of the kids from her time teaching school, so we did socks and shoes. We took shoe orders for children who needed new shoes for school. We also served hotdogs and chips. Two families came and we had 10 children in all. We also had one Bible study using Book 1 of Back to the Bible, and during that time enjoyed good fellowship with all the members; everybody was really uplifted. Right now, we have four prospects, and we are sending compassion cards. We did a transition visit with one of our prospects and encouraged him to invite the rest of his family, so we have also been encouraging them to come to worship service. We also did a fish fry. We average around 55 on a Sunday, and we had 74, but the prospects did not show up. If they had come, we would have had 80. Brother Keno Shrum is coming on September 19 and 20 to do our follow-up workshop. Things are really picking up here, and we are doing well with more evangelism. I am including pictures from our backpack drive. Addendum: Great news! Yesterday, we baptized my cousin Shana Rogers after using the BTTB booklets. We also sent out 20 compassion cards.”

Rison church of Christ, Arkansas: Keden Shrum (preacher) reports, “The Brown Trail School of Preaching students are with us this week. They arrived on Monday and will remain with us through Sunday worship. During the day this week, we will knock doors throughout the community. Then the students will preach for us each evening Wednesday through Saturday, with the meeting concluding on Sunday. We have spent the last couple of weeks preparing for the door-knocking campaign, including training during our Sunday evening assemblies. We are praying that the Lord will bless these efforts, open doors for us in the community, and give us opportunities to reach people with the Gospel. Additionally, we currently have two Bible studies scheduled with recent visitors. We hope to begin those studies following the campaign. We are thankful for these opportunities, and we request prayers as we continue working to reach others in our community.”

Washington Avenue church of Christ, Jonesboro, Arkansas: Parker Pribble (member) reports, “Austin (preacher) taught a training session during the evening service that focused on evangelizing our brethren who have fallen away. He laid out the plan in detail and discussed the passages pertaining to each step. We are excited to implement this in our evangelism effort as we have already seen an eagerness from many members to reach out to individuals who fall into this category. Card Team 1 met after services and filled out 89 compassion cards for four prospects. We also planned transition visits for this week. We had 11 visitors this week, all of whom were returning from previous visits. We are happy to share that one of the families decided to place membership with us. This is the same family that we treated to ice cream during their previous visits. The wife is a Christian, but the husband is not yet. Their son expressed interest in a Bible study that took place after services. His father and sister decided to sit in during the Bible study as well. We pray these studies will continue and be fruitful.”

Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “This Sunday, we had the joy of welcoming a new brother into the household of God. Gabriel first connected with our church family through a midweek afternoon devotional at a local retirement community. Afterward, several faith conversations took place, and he was invited to visit and worship with us. During Sunday’s invitation, Gabriel made his intentions known that he wanted to put Christ on in baptism. After speaking with him further and consulting with an elder, we were blessed to honor his request right there in the middle of services. It was incredibly encouraging to see someone so certain of what he needed to do and so willing to respond with his whole heart. Sometimes the journey to Christ takes weeks or months and many conversations. Other times, an open heart responds almost immediately. Either way, we rejoice when someone comes to the cross. I am so proud of our church family. From those who faithfully lead the retirement home devotional, to the residents who invited Gabriel and talked with him about faith, to those who welcomed him into our worship—everyone played a part. This is a beautiful example of the church simply doing its job: faithful people planting and watering, and God giving the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6). Every member, every circle, every day—sharing Christ. To God be the glory!”

Northside church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Larry Keener (elder) reports, “Northside in Harrison continues to have new visitors from our card ministry. On Sunday, we had two visitors, and we gave them visitor packs. First principles classes continue, and our morning attendance is going up. Next week, we will have our second transition meeting. We continue with our teen training on Wednesday nights. To God’s glory.”

Harrisburg church of Christ, Arkansas: Mark Weston (elder) reports, “Brock was away this weekend, so I taught the adult class and preached both lessons. We are still working with some wonderful prospects. We hope that two in particular will soon obey the Gospel. They have been very faithful in attending every service, and they are integrating themselves into our lives. It is a joy to watch them as they learn, and we know that God will give the increase. We met tonight and signed 165 compassion cards that will be mailed this week. We are currently working with 20 prospects, many of whom are new movers to our communities of Harrisburg and Cherry Valley. We have no Bible studies at this time, but we know those will come with continued effort. As stated in my last report, we hope to start some refresher training soon and make some needed follow-up visits. We will continue to work the program and touch the hearts of our neighbors. Until next week, we pray for continued growth and success to all the churches of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Oceanside church of Christ, Atlantic Beach, Florida: Victor Eskew (preacher) reports, “The Oceanside congregation had her Kick-Off Sunday yesterday. We passed out the ‘Who Is My Neighbor?’ bookmark and had the church fill them out with names. We will conduct training for Door Greeters and Pew Greeters this coming week. We will soon begin our Prospect List and start sending out cards.”

Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “Anthony Juliano, one of our Bringers, Teachers, and Keepers Stewards, presented his first lesson at Margaret Street on ‘Visitors and Pew Greeters’ as part of our congregational evangelism training. He did a great job, and it was well received. Each month, we aim to present at least one lesson on congregational evangelism during our evening service. So far, one of our elders, our youth/family minister, the preacher, a coordinator, and now one of our stewards have all presented. Although nearly two years have passed since we first introduced and trained the church in this ministry format, we recognize the importance of consistently presenting the objective and model to the congregation to ensure we stay focused on the church’s most important work. Our current total 2026 Accountability Board numbers are: 250 Contacts Received; 205 Neighbors (Prospects); 941 Compassion Cards sent; 44 Bible studies; two Restorations; and 13 Baptisms.”

Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Tom Neth (deacon) reports, “This week we saw another powerful example of how service can open the door to sharing the Gospel. One of our members, Tami, has been mowing a friend’s lawn while she recovered from hip surgery. What began as a simple act of service and kindness opened the door for them to study God’s Word together. As a result of that study, Lilly obeyed the Gospel and was baptized into Christ. This was our 17th baptism of the year, and we are thankful for the reminder that evangelism is often as simple as serving someone, building a relationship, and being ready to share God’s Word when the opportunity comes. We are also looking ahead as we plan a Fall Festival/Trunk-or-Treat community outreach event next month. As we have learned through our recent activities, our goal is not simply to create another event, but to use the opportunities we already have to welcome our community, build relationships, and open doors for the Gospel. We continue to be encouraged by the way God is using the everyday efforts of our members to create opportunities to share His Word.”

Milestone church of Christ, Cantonment, Florida: Randy Brantley (elder) reports, “We rescheduled training class for this Saturday morning. We are sending out 53 more compassion cards this week. We had a visit with a young lady whose husband lost his life in a car accident eight months ago, and we found out she was expecting a new baby at the same time. She had her baby just a few hours before we were to meet with her, so we are going to go visit with her this week. We are praying that she will be a good contact.”

Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “This Sunday we had several returning visitors. Some have been in and out. When that happens, sometimes it seems like we have lost the contact, but sometimes life just gets in people’s way. One of our long-term contacts asked to talk this week, and I am praying it is about his spiritual condition. Another young man, Eric Jorgenson, was baptized into Christ on Sunday. He has been attending regularly, and he has even brought his mother. His girlfriend’s father has had numerous conversations, and after a recent study, he was ready. It was a joyous day to see a young man obey the Lord. We had 11 visitors, three studies, and one baptism.”

Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “Woodstock church of Christ (WCOC) and the Sunabella Assisted Living Facility (SALF) conducted devotionals on Sunday. We had four non-Christians attend. We have added The Oaks at Town Lake Assisted Living to our weekly devotionals list. We pray to have outstanding results during these devotionals. The Compassion Group sent out 12 compassion cards. We had one Bible study and are rejoicing in a baptism.”

Cumming church of Christ, Georgia: Murphy O’Brien (member) reports, “Last week brought no new contacts, though the year’s total stands at 64. One new visitor’s information was gathered, bringing the yearly total to 19, and three visitor follow-ups were completed last week, for a running total of 53 this year. Twenty-eight cards went out last week, pushing the year’s total to 648, and there are currently 23 prospects. One Bible study was held last week, bringing the yearly count to 46, and while there were no baptisms last week, one has taken place so far this year.”

Warner Robins church of Christ, Georgia: Damien Walker (evangelist) reports, “We are really encouraging our congregation to be mindful of their personal contacts. We are looking for opportunities to submit the name of someone so we can write cards and work towards a Bible study. Our transition team met Sunday and had some success to report about a visit made with one of our prospects where the member opened his home for a meal with the prospect. It sounds like the prospect is primed for a Bible study. We also had some conversation about another prospect who has questions about religion, and it was a good opportunity to circle back on some principles like ‘defer, don’t debate.’ Six prospects are assigned for follow-up visits, and we appreciate all prayers to help us be faithful in carrying out this good work. May God bring the harvest!”

Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “On Sunday afternoon, Casey was baptized into Christ. I met Casey from a community Facebook group. He had asked a Biblical question, and a few members of the church tagged me in his post. This led to an in-person Bible study. The HTHSOE Student Program is helping Christians strengthen their evangelistic efforts. A couple of the students are currently studying with the lost.”

Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “We had a good week. On Wednesday, we had a visitor. On Sunday, he came back with his wife! We had a good number also Sunday. We also sent nine cards and made three visits. We have one prospect. We are also working on getting things ready for the 19th. We are working toward our goals. To God be the glory.”

Honolulu church of Christ, Hawaii: Tagiilima Esene (preacher) reports, “Aloha from the Honolulu congregation. We currently have four souls in Bible studies at this time. We have several prospects who will soon receive a meal invitation. Meal invitations have been very successful for our culture and congregation. Over 90 percent of meal invitations offered in the last five years have led to over 100 Bible studies. We started a visitation program for our shut-ins that will be active every month as part of our work of edification. I am preparing to walk the congregation through our evangelism model again as we have had new members in the congregation. We appreciate your prayers.”

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “We mailed 28 compassion cards and made five follow-up visits. We are currently conducting seven Bible studies. One of our young Christians who is 11 has been studying with her dad. He obeyed the Gospel on Sunday morning. Not a dry eye to be found in the congregation. A couple of our teens continue to study with a classmate. Get the youth involved and watch them work. I started booklet three with a couple who is related to two recent converts. I knew they had a rough past and were in multiple marriages. I prayed and prayed and settled into the study on Wednesday night with my silent partner. At the end of the study, after looking at Matthew 19/Romans 7, we realized their current marriage is aligned with Scripture. We will continue our study this Wednesday. One of our seed sowers is currently studying with two Mormons. It seems to be going well. I am also studying with a man who has Stage 4 cancer. We will begin booklet two on Thursday. The roller coaster of evangelism is real…hang on tight!”

Columbus church of Christ, Kansas: Matt Fowler (member) reports, “Our local visitor from last week, Forrest, came back to services and brought his girlfriend Brandi with him. They stayed for the potluck, and we continue to build the relationship with them in hopes that will lead to a Bible study soon. Our New Convert’s class continues to be well attended, and we have been having some great discussions. I have attached a picture of our class from Sunday. We are praying for all the efforts through the brotherhood. May we all keep sowing the seed!”

Beloit church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dustin Dougherty (regional trainer) reports, “We had 32 in attendance yesterday in Beloit; six of that number were visitors. One was a repeat visitor who came from the new movers and card outreach efforts. Two were visitors who came with one of our members, and a family of three was in town for other things. It was good to have that many visitors, especially the repeat local one. We are continuing to prospect him; we pray those efforts will be successful. We are looking forward to our upcoming Gospel Meeting and the outreach in the local and surrounding communities that come from that. To God be the glory.”

15th Street church of Christ, Ottawa, Kansas (remote): Brady Altic (associate minister) reports, “We started Believe the Bible Lesson A with Brett and Jordan. Overall, I think it went well. We are planning for Lesson B soon. Next week, Clayton is planning to teach Lesson 3 of Back to the Bible with a couple.  We are praying for good results. We appreciate all prayers for us and for those who are having Bible studies. We also ask for prayers for our congregation to stay steadfast in this work for the Lord.”

Spring Creek church of Christ, Hickory, Kentucky: David Morse (elder) reports, “Greetings from the Spring Creek congregation. We rejoice as this week because one of the teenage sisters who participated in the Back to the Bible study with us made the decision to obey the Gospel. We had one new visitor this week. We received the list of 21 new movers to our area (from HTH/HTH), and we will begin writing cards and dropping off new mover baskets to many of these families next week. Here are our numbers for the week: Visitors – 35, Prospects – three, Cards – 2,747, Bible studies – 0, Baptisms – six, Baptism Goal – seven.”

Flatwoods church of Christ, Kentucky: Nathan Adkins (elder) reports, “The Flatwoods congregation continues to have visitors weekly. Last month, we had at least 40 visitors from the community. Several of them made return visits. This coming Saturday, we are planning to go door-knocking. Our strategy will be to ask for prayer requests, send cards to those who made prayer requests, and then follow up in two weeks. We are praying for nice weather and good hearts.”

Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (elder) reports, “This week, we had one Bible study, as Richard, one of our recent guests and a recipient of compassion cards, agreed to a study. They went through Book 1 of Back to the Bible, and a second study is scheduled for this week. We have some others who seem very close to studies, and we continue to pray that those doors open!”

Carriage Oaks church of Christ, Shreveport, Louisiana: Andrew Wynne (preacher) reports, “We were down significantly in our attendance yesterday. We had a lot of people traveling. We still had several visitors, including an older lady who visited with her granddaughter. She lives right down the road from the building. We have her contact information and plan to add her to the Compassion Cards List. Our compassion cards efforts are still going strong. This week we plan to start Book 2 of Back to the Bible as a congregation. We appreciate prayers for our efforts to reach the lost.”

La Plata church of Christ, Maryland: Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “We had another relatively productive week here in La Plata. The saints of the La Plata church of Christ wrote 36 compassion cards, and we were blessed to welcome five visitors. Our Transition Visits Team delivered three transition gifts to individuals on our Prospects List this past week. We have several ongoing Bible studies that have recently stalled. We ask for prayers regarding these individuals; we pray they will be receptive and that we can re-engage them soon. We appreciate all prayers as we reach out to our community and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.”

Waldorf church of Christ, Maryland: Joseph Day (member) reports, “We had seven visitors on Sunday.  Our sermon was on compassion cards.  We are preparing for our outreach “Community Day” on September 12.”

Marshall church of Christ, Missouri (remote): Charles Reid (preacher) reports, “For several months, my wife and I have been working with a young man who is in his mid-20s. Yesterday morning, he called us and said he was thinking about coming to church, so he came, and we took him out to lunch with another young couple his age. We had a good meal and a good visit at the restaurant, and he enjoyed the Bible study and my sermon.”

Oak Grove church of Christ, Missouri: David Wiseman (elder) reports, “The more consistent we are, the more opportunities present themselves. We had ten visitors last week, including a family that has now visited two weeks in a row. We also have had a member of the church move into Oak Grove, and she has been consistent in attendance, but she has not placed membership yet. Our teams sent out 16 new mover cards, 15 compassion cards, and 50+ birthday, anniversary, and get-well cards. We started our New Convert’s class this last Sunday. On Sunday evening, we prepared 40 new mover baskets for the door-knocking on Saturday, September 19.”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “This past Sunday, we announced the hire of our new youth minister, Caleb Summers. He is coming to us from MSOP. We are very excited about his decision to come and work with us! We also had our fellowship meal this past Sunday. We had three visitors who stayed and ate with us. It was a good crowd! We also had a long-since-seen member who has been coming back recently, and I was able to schedule a Bible study with her this past Sunday. We appreciate prayers for that study! We printed and handed out the new Fall calendars for the church. We are all getting ready for the Ladies’ Day next Saturday. Some events are designed to seek the lost. This event is designed to strengthen the saved. Ministry work is about both seeking the lost and strengthening the saved. As I have heard many times, we do not want to baptize them and then watch them go out the back door. That is not growth. This month, we are also getting ready for our first annual Door Knocking Day. The current door-knocking team will be leading the groups as my group leaders! I ordered the special door-knocking issue from House to House to hand out, and I am currently working on a sermon series about door knocking to help prepare the congregation mentally.”

Fulton church of Christ, Mississippi: Richard Comer (member) reports, “We send around 20 cards per week. We are planning a Fall Festival/trunk or treat October 11th and invite non-members. Also, our door knocking this month will focus on inviting people to come to the event. We have one ongoing Bible study.”

Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire: Terry Hale (member), “We request prayers for two Bible studies already scheduled this week, as well as for the others we are transitioning to Bible studies. Our New Convert class is going well, with visible fruit being shown. Our training of teachers had eight in-class learners to close the study. Cards are being mailed daily.”

East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “ We had five visitors this past Lord’s Day. Our metrics thus far through and for September are three baptisms, five visitors, and 43 contacts. We appreciate all prayers.”

Glendale Street church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina (remote): Dayle Taylor (minister) reports’ “Regarding prospects, Bible studies through Back to the Bible and Does It Matter continue with current prospects. Regarding new converts, we continue to encourage our new converts to stay the course and work on attendance to classes and worship. Several of them have missed multiple opportunities to study and worship due to work and other interests and needs such as housing acquisition. Our two newest converts are among that number. We will continue to encourage, strengthen, and support our new converts to evangelize and grow in Christ. In our Visitor Follow-Up, we sent 18 compassion cards during this reporting period.”

Oak Forest church of Christ, Goldsboro, North Carolina: Dennis May (elder) reports, “Yesterday we had two visitors, and we gave each of them a visitor bag. Lennie had a great sermon on how, as Christians, we must all become servants and follow the example of Jesus, as He was always about serving others. Lennie reminded us that as a congregation seeking to become more evangelistic, all of us must play a role in helping others begin to learn about God and the love He has for them and His desire for them to become His children. There are many different roles, and everyone is needed to help bring others to Christ. Yesterday afternoon, the Compassion Card Group wrote 100 cards. During the last week, we were able to make seven new mover’s baskets, and they are now in the process of being delivered.”

New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) reports, “We had four first-time visitors on Sunday. A ‘welcome gift’ was given to each of them. We will also send them cards. Linda and I began a Bible study with one of her neighbors. This lady has been attending services for several weeks and seems very receptive. We have completed the first two books of Back to the Bible with her, and we hope to start Book 3 this week. We plan to mail our Fall schedule to all past compassion card recipients (Gospel Meeting announcement and our Thanksgiving Day Community Luncheon announcement). Several in the congregation are reaching out to those who have begun to waver in their faith. We pray to encourage and restore them.”

Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Goodwell, Oklahoma: Isaiah Sprouse (evangelist) reports, “We are slowly making progress. Our Thursday meals are our best way to make contacts. On Sunday, we were blessed to have two college students because of our luncheon. Our numbers were 22 for worship. We are blessed to have congregations from surrounding areas to join us. On Monday evening, we had a Bible study at Brother Sam Jones’s house in Sunray, Texas. Bobby and Jacob were present, but Talon was not able to make it. We scheduled with him for Thursday evening. We finished the second book of BTTB with those present, and everyone received the Word well. On Tuesday, Sister Misty Ferris held the first meeting of a Ladies’ Bible class. There were 14 attendees, including three who are not yet members of the church. On Wednesday, we held the first Young Adult Bible class at the church of Christ in Guymon, Oklahoma. We had one attendee named Ross. He is a contact Isaac made in his writing class. After the Bible class, we took Ross out to dinner. On Friday, we went to Amarillo and fellowshipped with a Spanish-speaking congregation of Bell Avenue church of Christ that supports the Bible chair. Isaac and Isaiah had a Bible study via Google Meet with some of our friends to grow in Christ together.”

Grove church of Christ, Oklahoma: Juan Jarmillo (preacher) reports, “Yesterday was a great day! A few months ago, a couple, Kris and Stephanie Bratton) came and asked me if they could be baptized. I studied with them that Sunday, but they were not baptized then because of some personal matters. I kept in contact with them and made sure for a few weeks that they still wanted to be baptized, until one day they stopped coming and texting back. They live in Grove, but Kris works in Dallas. Fast forward to yesterday. They appeared again, saying again they wanted to be baptized. I was a little skeptical about their motive, so I studied with them again—this time going through Does It Matter? Before that, I asked why they thought they should be baptized. They both gave me their reasoning, and we went through with the Bible study. During the study, both were invested, and I kept asking whether what they read in the Bible matched what they saw at our worship services. They said yes. Once we finished the study, Kris and Steph Bratton were baptized before our 2:00 PM worship service. We will pray for them continually, and we make that request to all of our brethren! On another note, we are excited to have Keno come in tomorrow (Tuesday, September 8) and have him through the 11th. It is going to be a very edifying event, especially after the two baptisms we just had! We are thankful for all the prayers, and we hope the Lord blesses all who prayed with us!”

Guymon church of Christ, Oklahoma: Chandler Henderson reports, “The lady that was baptized the day after the training we received turned around and started prospecting her 75-year-old mother. Her mother was then baptized about two months ago. It was one of the most emotional baptisms we have ever seen. Last week, she had a stroke and is now on hospice; they think she will not make it through the day. Without the training our congregation received about how to share the Gospel, this woman would be lost and facing death with no hope. Thank you for the work you do for the kingdom!”

Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “We had several returning visitors with no new contacts. We sent 76 compassion cards, and we have seven new prospects.  We have two ongoing Bible studies.”

Barnes church of Christ, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: John Bellah (member) reports, “On Sunday morning, Brant Stubblefield preached a sermon titled ‘Before I Die.” Two brothers responded; one requested forgiveness and prayer, and the other asked to be restored back to full fellowship with the Lord’s church. During our fellowship mealtime, a few of our men had a study with one who had been visiting for a while, and he decided to put on Christ in baptism! A wonderful start to September!”

York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “This was a good week in York. First, we had a baptism on Tuesday! A woman who lives in York had been engaged in a study with a congregation near Philadelphia, and she was referred to us. Fred and Pam met with her and quickly learned that she was ready to be baptized. We can continue to see the spiritual growth of the congregation; we are growing closer to God and to each other. We had our annual church picnic on Saturday, as well as our monthly fellowship meal on Sunday after morning service. Both were well attended. We had some family visiting from out of town, but we also had some members who were out of town. We also had some members of the church who were in the area visiting family, and they brought their non-member family with them. They all stayed to join us for the fellowship meal, and we hope to see them again. We also had our monthly evangelism meeting to discuss those whom we have visited and need to visit, and we sent cards to our new convert.”

Saint Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (minister) reports, “This past week, we wrote 15 compassion cards. We had one Bible study using Does It Matter. We gave out two visitor bags. One new contact was created.”

Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “We are happy to report that we had returning visitors yesterday to services. We also added two more to our Compassion Card List. We give God the glory.”

West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “We are working to get everything back to normal form. I do not have a whole lot to report other than we are hoping to meet this week to really start getting everything back on board as it should be.”

Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “One of our dear young married couples responded together yesterday, seeking prayers and restoration. It was so encouraging to see them rededicate their lives to serving the Lord, and such a blessing for their two young children! We now have had 13 restorations and 10 baptisms this year.”

Soddy church of Christ, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “We continue to look forward to our Homecoming and Friends and Family Day this coming Sunday, September 13. As part of this effort, we emphasized our vital responsibility in ‘Seeking the Lost,’ encouraging everyone to reach out and invite those we love to come home as our honored guests. We appreciate all prayers for this special day. Additionally, Care Team 1 met yesterday and will send about 40 compassion cards this week to our visitors and those new to the area. What a blessing it is to work together in reaching out to our community, friends, and neighbors!”

Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Daniel Burton (member) reports, “We had seven visitors with us recently. We sent out 20 compassion cards as we continue reaching out to prospects. Our college class is doing a great job inviting others, and we were encouraged to have one visitor yesterday as a result of their efforts. It is especially encouraging to see our young people embracing evangelism early in life and developing a desire to reach others with the Gospel. We appreciate all prayers for these efforts and the opportunities God places before us.”

Birdwell Chapel church of Christ, Cottontown, Tennessee: Kerry England (elder) reports, “We are working hard to expand our online presence. Mason Sadler did a great job this summer with this effort. He is continuing that now that he has returned back to school. Our last two-week online campaign: we had 13 people fill out an information form.  Most were from out of town, but still the seed is being sown. We contacted all of them to offer a Bible correspondence course. Also, we offered to help them find a faithful congregation in their community. We are trying to refine it to generate more local leads. It is a work in progress. Invitation postcards are being printed to invite people to a cookout the last Saturday of September. We will mail these to leads from earlier this year.”

Rome church of Christ, Lebanon, Tennessee (remote): David Oxley reports, “Our New Convert’s class met on Wednesday night and is going well. We are sending cards to three prospects this week and are planning more visits.”

White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “We had 11 visitors. We are sending out 150 cards this week. We have several Bible studies going on right now; we are praying for open hearts and minds. We are scheduling more training for our lobby and pew greeters. We are not always getting the contact cards from our visitors.”

Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “We continue to work to reach the lost. We have several regular visitors; we have written cards to those whom we continue to greet, and we are building relationships with them. We pray that soon they will agree to a Bible study. We also are working to encourage our new converts regularly.”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “We celebrated two restorations last week. The couple had been raised in the church and baptized, but they drifted away and ceased attending worship services. A few weeks ago, they attended worship services and were greeted by our greeters and invited to join a connect group, which they did. They began attending Bible class and worship both Sunday and Wednesday. Last Wednesday, they met with the Elders, repented, and expressed their determination to be active members of the Lord’s body rather than merely attending services. This brings our year total of baptisms and restorations to 12, hitting our goal of 12. Lord willing, we will now exceed our goal for 2026.”

Rivergate church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “Our summer series is over, and we are back to normal classes on Wednesday. We had three visitors. On Sunday morning, we had six visitors, and on Sunday night we had six visitors. A couple who had fallen away returned on Sunday morning. They were fairly new Christians and ran into some problems. One of our elders, a deacon, and our youth minister and I had been working on this for a while.”

Natalia church of Christ, Texas: Jim Word (preacher) reports, “This past Friday, Denise was baptized. She was only in our area for a couple of days the week before last for some doctor appointments, but her brother Dale took the opportunity to study the first book of Back to the Bible with her that Friday. Then she came back this past week for more appointments, and he had the second study with her on Thursday. He asked me if I wanted to sit in on Lesson 3 on Friday morning. She obeyed the Gospel and was baptized by her brother. This is our sixth baptism since we returned home from our Cayman trip. This is the first study Dale has done by himself, but four of the six baptisms were prospects of his. This man already told her that he wants to study with her daughter next. He is also trying to set up a study with his brother in Oklahoma.”

San Saba church of Christ, Texas: Justin Bell (preacher) reports, “We just finished our continuing education with Keno Shrum. We are coming into this week with a lot of energy. There are a few things we have been doing that we want to tweak. We are mainly focusing on multiple transition visits rather than just one. Hopefully, this will lead to more Bible studies from the prospect pool. One of our Bible studies is looking very promising, and we expect a baptism in the next few days.”

Southwest church of Christ, Austin, Texas: Bryce Mayfield (evangelist) reports, “This past week has been focused on getting our college-age students plugged into our evangelistic efforts. In our weekly dinner and Bible study, we looked at the decline of congregations and Christians here in America. We reminded ourselves of this truth: ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.’ This group wants to work! Over the next couple of weeks, we are going to train together so that we can target our generation with the Gospel. Then we are going to begin handing out free Bibles and using the ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ methods to get contacts, prospects, and Bible studies. This group is excited and full of energy, and I cannot wait to see the God-glorifying results from the efforts. Lord willing, I should have some data from these efforts soon.”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Texas: Doug Suggs (evangelist) reports, “One of our Compassion Card Teams met to send cards Sunday evening. We had a visitor who moved to Katy recently, and we are sending her cards. Another person we are trying to get to come to services is receiving cards at this time. Her father asked us to send cards. Our new converts are starting to take an active part in our services. Andre turned in several names, and they have been receiving cards.”

Lake Country church of Christ, Burnet, Texas: Alex Simmons (preacher) reports, “This past week we had several visitors. One was a young man who is a childhood friend of one of our members, Travis. A couple of weeks ago, this young man went to lunch with Travis and said he was looking for a church. In that moment, Travis gladly gave him an invitation card and told him he should visit. This past Friday night, he called Travis and asked if he could come to services with him this Sunday, so Travis brought him. When he arrived, one of our elders handed him a visitor’s bag with an Apologetics Press Study Bible. In class and during the worship hour, I could tell he was very attentive and following along with everything that we were doing. After services, Travis, along with one of our elders and his wife, took him out to lunch. Then, just a few hours later, he called Travis, asking to have a Bible study. It truly is amazing to see the kind of response you will get when the congregation works together to evangelize. On another note, we also had several other visitors this week who were already prospects. A couple of months ago, one of our members passed away. His son used to be a member of the church but fell away many years ago. When his father passed away, we took the opportunity as a congregation to try and bring him back into the fold. The congregation wrote cards to him and his wife, and we have made visits. This past Sunday, they were in attendance! While we recognized there is still much work that needs to be done for this prospect, we were happy to see him back at services. After services, one of our deacons and his wife took this couple out to eat. We are prayerful that there will be a study in the future.”

Whitehouse church of Christ, Texas: Cody Stewart (evangelist) reports, “This past Sunday, the lesson on compassion cards was delivered by our minister, Kris. The congregation is being divided into four teams for that ministry, and our administrator is coordinating with the four women who are preparing that work. We had several visitors this past Sunday at both our morning and evening services. One family that visited was particularly interesting. The husband was a Walmart delivery driver who delivered food for our Ladies class brunch last week. We visited with him for some time and invited him and his family to services as well as our weekly Family Fellowship event. These efforts can begin building a relationship that will hopefully lead to a Bible study. We currently have three ongoing Bible studies.”

Stratford church of Christ, Texas: Chad Theis (coordinator) reports, “Contacts: We had four visitors. Prospecting: We did not send compassion cards. We made three visits. Bible Studies: We had two Bible studies. Baptisms: We had zero baptisms.”

Roanoke church of Christ, Texas: Caleb Rutherford (preacher) reports, “We had a great Sunday. We wrote another 450 cards to more AMC prospects. We were able to set up another Bible study on Sunday, and another Bible study started this last Friday. That brings our total to 15 current ongoing studies.”

Bridge Avenue church of Christ, Weslaco, Texas: Braulio Carvajal (preacher) reports, “We had another great week at Bridge Avenue. On Saturday, Paul Zavala, Jr. was baptized. He had been contemplating baptism for some time; after a few discussions with one of our Elders, he made the decision. Last week, we had two visitors on Sunday. This Sunday we had ten visitors and collected three contacts. We continue to have good attendance in our New Converts’ classes.  We have three ongoing Bible studies. We also established one contact through our handicap ministry. We continue to get more members involved in Bible studies, New Converts’ classes, and other aspects of our evangelism program.”

Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “Currently, we are talking with two new contacts, and we have five Bible studies taking place—and two are with Mormon girls. It is not impossible; I am doing my best to reason with them. Our card-writing groups are doing very well!”

Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “We have a continued study each week with one new convert, and I am scheduling another either this week or next. I also have a study with a young man who continues to think about being baptized, but I know he wants to be sure of his commitment.”

North Jefferson church of Christ, Mount Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (associate minister) reports, “Reach Team 2 met yesterday and wrote 42 cards. Jeff and Brett studied with Oscar again this week. They are going to speed up the study as Oscar will soon be going back home to Colorado (he had been here the last six months taking care of his mother-in-law). Nathali (prospect) started back at college, so meeting for our next study has been hard. We are hoping for next week! Scott, Jena, and I are hoping to start Back to the Bible with Zamya next Friday. Terry House, who was baptized in April, did his first devotional on Wednesday night. It was a powerful moment as many rejoiced seeing him get up and serve. God is so good!”

Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Kodie Martin (evangelist) reports, “We rejoice in Shareco’s decision to put Christ on in baptism! She was one of our school supply drive visitors and came to services for a few weeks before studying. She was present yesterday, and we already have her in the New Converts’ classes to ground her in the truths she acknowledged and to have her establish relationships with mentors/families. We have also been blessed by another family placing membership. They will be another beneficial asset to us in the program! We continued to be blessed in many ways in the work!”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “The Williamsburg church of Christ had one local contact today, and we are working with one individual to be restored. We are also reviewing all those in the Reading Assistance Program who are not members of the church to become contacts. This is an effort to turn every outreach participant into a contact. Our next big event will be the Door Knocking Campaign on September 19, 2026. Our prayers are with all those seeking the lost and spreading the Gospel.”

West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Chris French (minister) reports, “We just moved into our house last year, so we made a flyer and went down our entire street advertising our upcoming neighborhood block party. It was really simple. We invited the church and our neighbors, and the idea was to get them to talk. We had hot dogs, all the condiments and sides, and out of about 50 invitations, we had about 20 neighbors show up. It was just the beginning step of starting a relationship with our neighbors, but it made a big impression on them, and we have been able to have some good follow-up discussions.”
