Editor’s Note: The Margaret Street church of Christ has been a bright light in the Kingdom. It is a model for other congregations to follow. First trust the process, which is key to success. Troy Spradlin not only trained the congregation, he also developed better PowerPoint presentations that we have added to the curriculum. The church continued to develop contacts and move them to the prospect list each week. They have followed the Compassion Card training and will invest time and resources into their local community. They post their metrics each week to keep themselves accountable. I would submit their example for all churches of Christ.
Featured Work: Margaret Street Church of Christ, Milton, FloridaProspecting Prodigals One of our active members set up a Bible study with his daughter, a prodigal member, and his son-in-law, a prospect. After completing the study, he could not get them to agree to sit down for another study. Some time passed, and they still did not want to study. We added them to our Compassion Card list. After receiving the cards and feeling the love of the church, the daughter told her dad that she needed to return to the Lord! She will be attending services with him and continuing her studies. It also opened the door with the son-in-law to continue conversations and influence him positively. The process of the Evangelism Model works, even in a different order! Our current 2025 Year-to-Date Accountability Board numbers include the following: 161 Contacts; 33 Visitors; 81 Neighbors (Prospects with whom we have shared love and studies); 39 Bible Studies (total completed); 1294 Compassion Cards sent; and nine Baptisms.” Congregational ReportsWelcome, Arlington church of Christ, Tennessee: We want to welcome the Arlington church of Christ to the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. The congregation is served by Brandon Tibbits, a graduate of the Memphis School of Preaching who loves souls and is eager to begin the training. The elders are committed to do what it takes to help this congregation grow. Glencoe church of Christ, Alabama: Keith Ritchie (evangelist) reports, “Glencoe church of Christ is looking forward to VBS in June and opportunities to making contacts. There is still a lot of excitement going on at Glencoe. We continue making contacts and setting up studies. The two works we will be focusing on more are Kingdom Kidz and the Prospect bookmark. These two things are very effect if used properly. Transition teams will be focusing on VBS invitations as well. Also, Glencoe will be focusing on the erring by placing their names on the bookmarks and seeking to win them back. May God help us to not only save the lost but also restore the erring. To God be the glory!” Central church of Christ, Saraland, Alabama: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “Our efforts to reach the lost take many forms. We have Vacation Bible School coming up in June, and we expect numerous community visitors. We will be celebrating our graduating seniors in a couple of weeks, and that will provide some contact with non-Christians. What we have found about visitors and contacts is that they rarely give up after one visit. Unless they are passing through town or already have their minds made up about the church of Christ, the differences in our worship assemblies do not seem to be an issue for most people who are ‘shopping for a church.’ I take this as a positive, and we are trying to focus on visitors of late.” Canal Heights church of Christ, Demopolis, Alabama: Bryan Cook (preacher) reports, “One of our ongoing Bible studies led to a baptism this week! We rejoice with our new brother in Christ. On the same night, someone new visited our Wednesday night Bible class and committed to begin studying the Bible with us. We appreciate prayers for this new study. Our monthly door-knocking has continued to bear fruit. A couple of visitors have come our way because of this outreach. In addition, our New Movers program has greatly encouraged those participating. Over the past few months, we have seen several new members get involved in our evangelism work, bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm. We will keep praying for our efforts as we share the Gospel in our community, and we will pray for the efforts of other congregations as well.” Fayette church of Christ, Alabama: Josh Taylor (deacon) reports, “We continue to work on our contacts that have been assigned this month. We are having continuous visitors, and we are working on developing them and making them feel welcome. We are also working with a couple of our younger college-age young people. We are making good strides, and we appreciate all prayers. To God be the glory!” Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Josh Halloway (preacher) reports, “More and more of our number are getting involved every week. We have an upcoming VBS. So many of our members are involved. This year, the goal has shifted to focus on the restoration process. We want to develop these families as potential contacts. We are working hard at developing our visitor program and our new movers program. Some of our elders have really started jumping in to help with the visitation of wayward souls. We made 19 visits this week. As a product of those visits, three of our prospects attended services this past Sunday. We conducted two Bible studies and took a potential prospect out to dinner this week for a meet and greet. Also, one of the visits we conducted with a wayward member resulted in setting up a weekly Bible study. We start this Friday. If the Lord wills, we will have three Bible studies this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Please pray for these potential souls!” Hartselle church of Christ, Alabama: Justin Smith (preacher) reports, “Even though we are early in the implementation phase, some Bible studies have already begun. Bookmarks are filled out, and contacts are discussed in worship each Sunday. In the seminar, we heard a lot about culture change, and I am encouraged that each week I can sense it. It is all for the glory of God!” Highland Park church of Christ, Muscle Shoals, Alabama: Andrew Myhan (deacon) reports, “Darlene has been visiting with us for some time now. Some of our ladies completed Back to the Bible with her a few weeks ago. She did not make a decision at that time. However, with continued encouragement and prayers, she made her decision to be immersed last week. Please pray for her and our mentors that are guiding her. “ Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “We look forward to Keno’s visit next week for our refresher course. Our effort has been going well, and our leadership continues challenging the congregation with opportunities to continue working together in our evangelism efforts. Today we spent time with one of our excellent prospects, hoping soon for a door to open.” Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We currently have one ongoing study. We continue to send cards each week, including to new converts. We have reestablished contact with a woman who was on our prospect list previously. Her son passed away a couple of months ago, and she has had health issues. She cannot do any yard work because of her condition. Some men from our congregation are going to clean up her yard this week or next week. Hopefully, this will lead to further discussion about Christ. Both she and her daughter have already expressed interest in coming to Creekwood. We now have coordinators in place for new movers and visitors. It is just a matter of training them now.” Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “Last Thursday night, due to the hard work of our sisters Charlotte and Rebecca, a Back to the Bible study ended with the baptism of Bridget Osswald! The ladies had been challenged to move forward both with the scheduling of the studies and their confidence in leading it, and they did a tremendous job! We have four additional Bible studies ongoing, which will hopefully soon lead to more people putting Christ on in baptism. Our door-knocking group is hard at work reaching out to compassion card recipients. We had 17 help with compassion cards this past Sunday. We sent cards to 17 individuals, for a total of 85 cards.” Windsor church of Christ, Colorado: Lucas Stephens (member) reports, “A family of five placed membership Sunday. We are still preparing for our barbecue on June 14 by placing flyers in our new movers baskets as well as door-knocking for the local neighbors. All activities are geared toward getting out in the neighborhood and practicing evangelism.” Wildwood church of Christ, Florida: Tony Clay (evangelist) reports, “This week, we will begin a new Sunday evening meeting that will focus on outreach and discipleship. During these meetings, we will strategize, train, write cards, create welcome bags and new movers baskets, and pray about all of our prospects. The fields are white for harvest in our community!” Lake Forest church of Christ, Jacksonville, Florida: Brian Howard (preacher) reports, “Our visitor prospect list continues to grow. We had a second erring member come back due to the card-writing efforts. We now have eight prospects from visitors. We have finished the John 4 sermons.” Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “On May 4, Daniel Shelby visited our Sunday evening worship service. He had accidentally attended; he meant to stop at another church, and he was late, but he promised to return the next week. When Daniel visited, we talked and set up a study. This past Tuesday, Daniel was baptized. He was actually going through two studies: BTTB and Jule Miller. During his study with Gregg, he started asking about baptism. Greg shared with him some scriptures, and that afternoon, he obeyed the Gospel. Daniel continues to study with us and is growing in his knowledge of God. He is already volunteering to help within the church. This week we had four studies and one baptism. We sent out 24 cards. We had several returning visitors, but we did not have any new visitors at worship this week.” Avalon church of Christ, Florida (remote): Preston Silcox (elder) reports, “We had one Bible study last week and mailed 18 cards. We had 11 visitors on Sunday. We also have two ‘bringer events’ planned: an end-of-school celebration for our kids and their friends on Saturday, and Friends and Family Day on Sunday. We are praying for contacts and prospects from both of these and other events that we have planned for the summer.” Lafayette church of Christ, Georgia: Jesse Teague (deacon) reports, “We had our annual picnic at a local state park on Saturday. It was a chance to strengthen our bond and invite others to enjoy a meal with us. We had over 50 in attendance, including members, but we also had a few folks from area congregations, families from out of town, and a few visitors and folks we have not seen in quite a while. Seeds were planted. There is always good to be done in every situation!” Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “Each week, we have several visitors due to our evangelistic efforts. We hope to have a new sister this evening as we will study Back to the Bible 3.” Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Larkin Cook (member) reports, “The WCOC congregation attended the Sunabella of Towne Lake Assistant Living devotional on Sunday. They had six non-Christian attendees. The Prison Ministry Group is coordinating Bible studies with an Adult High Security Facility. WCOC had ten non-Christian visitors this Sunday morning. We had two Bibles studies last week.” Eatonton church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Roderick Coney (minister) reports, “We started another Bible study this week. We have two active Bible studies. We also have several contacts that we are working to turn into prospects.” Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (elder) reports, “This past week has been like many others. Our evangelism team continues to put in the work. We conducted four Bible studies and took one out for lunch. She has been involved in a denomination for years. We feel she is coming around to the Gospel. We delivered several new mover baskets and made follow-up visits. Our clothing closet is open on Tuesday, and we hope to create contacts. We mailed 55 compassion cards this week.” Highland Village church of Christ, Bloomington, Indiana: Mark Stauffer (elder) reports, “The past week was a struggle for my wife and me. We were in shock for several days after the tornado hit. We had to do a lot of cleaning up and sorting through debris. It will be months before our house is in shape to host visitors. Thankfully, most of the urgent tasks are done. Highland Village has sent 81 cards so far in May. We had a follow-up contact with one of our prospects who is coming along slowly and has given some positive feedback. Yesterday, I spoke to the congregation about the ten levels of evangelism from the perspective of ‘Where do your talents fit into the evangelism model?’ Emphasis was placed on what God expects of us. He does not expect from us more than we are capable of doing. Everyone has a talent or ability that will help make our evangelism efforts successful.” LaGrange church of Christ, Indiana: Wayne Poe (elder) reports, “We had a visitor from Florida and his sister who is from LaGrange Sunday. She is searching for a church home, and we had a nice visit with them at the potluck. A family that had gone elsewhere for the last two weeks came back to our services. It was encouraging to see them back. We had a couple of members who knocked doors on Saturday, and that went very well. We have had a rough few weeks, but I am working to get things going again.” Judah church of Christ, Bloomington, Indiana: Joe Moon (preacher) reports, “We had a men’s meeting yesterday to organize visits with those who have received compassion cards. We discussed better ways to communicate to the congregation regarding the tasks that we need to do. We have five people ready to visit or almost ready to visit. We have no Bible studies at this time.” Beloit church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dustin Dougherty (regional trainer) reports, “We had a VBS meeting on Wednesday as we prepare for the upcoming campaign that will be held by the Covington church of Christ. We are thankful for their assistance in our mission field. This is difficult field, but we know with God’s help we can bring souls to Christ.” Poole church of Christ, Kentucky: Andrew Wynne (preacher) reports, “This past week we continued to study Back to the Bible as a congregation. We are currently in Book 3. On May 25, we had a visitor on Sunday evening. My wife and I have had several opportunities to speak to her and get to know her better, and she has agreed to a Bible study. We also hope to send out more compassion cards this week. We appreciate all prayers for our efforts.” Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (preacher) reports, “This week, we had three Bible studies, and another study had to be postponed due to sickness. We are grateful for each study and are praying for good soil! Our Vacation Bible School starts this coming Sunday, and a lot of work has been done to make certain it is truly evangelistic in nature. Tons of invitations have been arranged, but we are also working on a follow-up process so we can keep tabs on guests we have. We appreciate all prayers for these efforts!” Madisonville church of Christ, Kentucky: Russell Kline (preacher) reports, “We had six visitors on Sunday. There were no baptisms or restorations. We sent 15 compassion cards to two people. There are no ongoing in-person Bible studies locally, but we have three ongoing Bible correspondence courses.” Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: Patrick Adkins (deacon) reports, “We have ordered invitation cards. We have three studies ongoing with four prospects. One is looking for a congregation in Florida. We had our third lesson on John 4 on Sunday morning, and trained compassion card writing in the evening service. We have appointed three more coordinators. We are continuing the course and working to get it off the ground the right way.” Chalmette church of Christ, Louisiana: Scott Russell (member) reports, “We began filling out bookmarks and praying for the names on each member’s bookmarks. Over the next few weeks (prayerfully), we will learn and work together to turn those names into prospects! Mark Lance, our preacher, taught the fifth Sunday lessons, and one of our members, James Snyder, is now taking care of our accountability board.” La Plata church of Christ, Maryland (remote): Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “God is still in the blessing business. We had 21 folks from ten different congregations, including several out of state. Also, one brother from Camp Humphries church of Christ in South Korea attended our video of the week training class. We are training the group on the use of Back to the Bible via Zoom. Sister Emma Moton of the East Capital church of Christ in Washington, D.C., is 83 years old. She took the information she learned in the class and taught Janice Washington (80) in Janice’s home. Emma met Janice at the senior citizens facility where she often visits. Emma did not know that while they were studying, Janice’s husband, Arthur, who was sitting in the room, did what my kids used to say: ‘Ear Hustling.’ As Ms. Janice was giving her confession, Arthur stood up and said, ‘You might as well take mine, too; I heard the whole thing, and I want to be baptized, too!’ The idea of ‘Seniors baptizing Seniors’ is wonderful. We wrote 41 compassion cards this week, and we had four repeat visitors. Two Christians have been visiting with us here in La Plata for a while. They decided to place membership with our congregation on Sunday, mainly because they are impressed with our aggressive evangelism program. They have seen that we are training our members on the evangelism model and bringing souls to Christ, and they want to be a part of the family here at La Plata. We have seven folks in new convert training classes, and our Wednesday night Bible study class had 17 folks in it last week. We are training the members on the Growing in Christ workbook. We hope to train a group of folks to mentor our new converts as we add new members to the fold. We should be starting on Chapter 5 of Growing in Christ this week. Our Friday night online ‘Video of the Week’ class will be starting on Does It Matter? We have five open Bible studies. We are working on synchronizing our schedules with our door knockers to start delivering gift baskets. For the last few weeks, several members have been sick or out of the area due to urgent family matters.” Beltway church of Christ, Camp Springs, Maryland: LeAndre Johnson (preacher) reports, “Yesterday we heard the John 4 (Part 4) lesson, and we passed out the contact bookmarks. We are preparing to transition some of these names using our prospect cards to the prospect list. We appreciate all prayers.” Iuka church of Christ, Mississippi: Sam Glover (preacher) reports, “Eight scheduled visits went well, and four new mover baskets were delivered. The new Bible study is continuing well. The summer presents a unique opportunity as we often have visitors on their way to and from the lake or Pickwick Reservoir. One of our members, especially, is doing excellent work by engaging visitors, inviting them to lunch, and following up.” New Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Shane Belanger (member) reports, “We had a meeting with Terry Hale yesterday regarding beginning the process, and we are currently preparing a table and ordering a tablecloth to display the materials for the visitors. We look forward to having more meetings this week to be prepared for weeks to come. We plan on beginning the process with the church during the Wednesday night Bible study this week. We have also begun organizing visitor cards in a designated room.” Mountain Island church of Christ, Charlotte, North Carolina: Clyde Gilbert (elder) reports, “Two of our studies were postponed this week, but we plan to continue this week. One study is ready for Lesson 3 of Back to the Bible tomorrow, so we’re praying that he will obey the Gospel!” East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “We had one visit last week. We had four visitors in the worship service. In preparation for an evangelistic Vacation Bible School, the sermon ‘CONTACTS/COMMUNITY EVENTS’ was modified. Our metrics thus far, for and through May, include two baptisms, 26 compassion cards, 18 prospects, and seven Bible studies off and on. We had one person in the new convert class. We appreciate all prayers.” East Sparta church of Christ, Magnolia, Ohio (remote): Andrew Masterson (preacher) reports, “Our coordinators are all settled into their roles and ready to start training. Two studies are currently going on, and a visitor came forward on Sunday, asking for help. He may soon start a study as well. We have over 100 compassion cards going out this week. This coming Sunday morning, we will start the John 4 sermon.” New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) reports, “We had a few first-time visitors on Sunday. We have been studying with a couple who attended today. We continue to work the model, send cards, and help our new converts grow.” Owasso church of Christ, Oklahoma: David Combs (elder) reports, “Sunday morning in our adult Bible class, we continued our study of Back to the BibleBook 2. Dan, our pulpit minister, taught the class. We are taking two class periods per book for a little more discussion for the prospective teachers. Cheyenne church of Christ, Oklahoma (remote): Nathan Brewer (member) reports, “I preached Sunday morning on the first two steps of the Evangelism Model, Contacts and Prospects. Lord willing, this Sunday morning we will begin with Book 1 of Back to the Bible. I am concerned about two of our recent converts and would like to request prayers from RTL readers. Yesterday was the fourth Sunday in a row that they have not been at worship. Chad’s dad has cancer, and they have been helping him move. I texted Chad today, and he said he has a sinus infection and is on antibiotics. I told him God wants and deserves top priority in their lives, and that they need to meet with the church to worship God. We are working to get them here for new converts studies.” Coweta church of Christ, Oklahoma: Keno Shrum (regional trainer) reports, “This week we mailed compassion cards to three people. We will follow up soon with in-person visits. We had a visitor a few weeks ago; she had received our cards. Also, one of our couples is working to set up a Bible study. This weekend, Jamie and I will be traveling to Hatton, Alabama, for a Congregational Refresh. The congregation there has done a great job of evangelizing. They are ready for a tune-up so they can maximize their effectiveness! Prayers for all as you labor in His name!” Whispering Hills church of Christ, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma: Matt McBrayer (preacher) reports, “We had seven visitors Sunday and sent out 120 cards, but our main focus this week was training. We gathered our visitor teams together and reinforced what Rob had taught us. It was great as we all trained each other, bringing up things that we recalled from the seminar as well as specific points made on the SOE website. Visitor teams, in my opinion, are one of the best tools that we have received. It has helped our congregation the most at this point. It just leads to so many other opportunities. We have a Bible study coming up that we believe has potential for a conversion, and it is probably due to the instruction/effectiveness of visitation teams.” Sullivan Village church of Christ, Lawton, Oklahoma: Steven Hill (preacher) reports, “We just finished a reboot on our evangelism program with Keno Shrum. It was a much-needed refresh, helping to revitalize the congregation and reset our goals and priorities. We hope to move forward with greater focus and a renewed purpose. Also, two of our ladies studied with one of our frequent visitors, and she was baptized into Christ on Wednesday evening. Please pray for Dagmar Hardy.” Union church of Christ, South Carolina (remote): Terry Hale (evangelist) reports, “We continue prayers for three prospects who are studying Book 3. Had a very good study in Book 1 this week with Abraham. He is doing a great job understanding and answering the questions after the verse.” Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “One of our recently baptized Christians invited her best friend for the second time to attend Bible class and the worship assembly. Following the assembly, she extended an invitation to her friend to join the next Connect Group meeting as a means of fostering their openness to individual Bible studies. This exemplifies the evangelism process in action: a young adult who came from a worldly background commits to a Bible study, undergoes conversion, and subsequently invites a friend from the world to learn the truth. May God grant us the necessary growth and continually give us opportunities to engage with individuals outside of Christ. A new Christian from a worldly background requires ongoing study, mentoring, guidance, patience, teaching, and encouragement from the entire congregation. Each member is part of the Keepers portion, which is crucial in maintaining the new Christian’s walk in Christ as the initial excitement surrounding a person’s new birth diminishes, and the former life seeks to re-engage with them. Evangelism is an ongoing way of life for a Christian to utilize his or her talents to encourage and set an example and becoming a loving brother or sister in Christ.” Grundy Street church of Christ, Tullahoma, Tennessee: John Duncan (elder) reports, “We passed out the HTHSOE bookmarks so our members can begin making their contact lists. We will begin the congregational training on Sunday.” Ocoee Street church of Christ, Copper Hill, Tennessee: R.E. Vann (elder) reports, “Totals for May are 75 compassion cards sent, 15 prospects, (including three more wayward members to visit), 24 visitors, nine transition visits made, and one restoration. Our card writing diminished during May, so we will encourage this aspect of the model in June and keep trusting the process.” McEwen church of Christ, Tennessee: John Jones (preacher) reports, “We have recently begun sending out cards to those who have been identified as unfaithful to the congregation. As I have only been here one year, this has been something that the congregation has had to pick up and run with themselves, and they have done well. We are still waiting on a couple of people to make a decision for repentance, but we are praying for them. This Sunday, we had some visitors who were invited by our newly baptized sister.” Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “We had our monthly coordinators meeting, and some good input was generated. I shared with each coordinator the recent results from our congregational survey so they could each add more names to their area of work. We plan to send out a monthly congregational email reminding everyone of opportunities for them to help, based on the coordinator’s needs. We still have several Bible studies going on. We still have quite a few visitors each week; some members are elsewhere, but a few are there for the first time, and we have added them to our contact list to receive cards. We are only a couple of weeks away from our VBS, so much preparation is also going into that. It is a very busy time of year, but we always strive to look through the lens of reaching the lost in everything we do.” Sycamore Chapel church of Christ, Ashland City, Tennessee: Jackson Erwin (preacher) reports, “Several of our members have ten or more people on their bookmarks, and they have been diligent in visiting with and inviting them to church. We are currently working with ten prospects as well. One family who just moved to the area visited us yesterday, so we will send our New Movers to make further contact. Another family of four has been visiting for the last three weeks; who are good friends with some of our younger members. We are moving closer to having a Bible study with them. Also, a family from the Seventh Day Adventists has been visiting with us. I had a conversation with the father recently, who is a Bible school teacher there, and he is now seeing some issues with the Adventist teaching. We will invite them out to lunch soon and see about starting a study with them. Some members have given me copies of their bookmarks. I will be talking with them this week about those names to see what we can do to help them shift from contacts to prospects.” Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Jonathan Medley (elder) reports, “Our friend Cody, who was baptized last week, has now moved to East Tennessee. We helped him move. I completed Book 2 of Back to the Bible last week with Jared, and we plan to start Book 3 this week.” Philadelphia church of Christ, Lebanon, Tennessee (remote): Alex DeGraves (associate preacher) reports, “On Sunday, we added one new contact card—an erring member—to the prospect list. We finished sending out compassion cards for five people, and the elders will plan visits this week. We are praying that these visits will bear fruit!” New Union church of Christ, Manchester, Tennessee: Paul Fultz (elder) reports, “We had 12 visitors on Sunday; our members submitted four names to add to our prospect list. We wrote 33 compassion cards. During the week, we made four visits. We meet every Monday to discuss our evangelism efforts.” Soddy church of Christ, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher), “We at Soddy are thankful and honored to continue to study our Lord’s example of purpose, motivation, and urgency as He continuously lived out His mission to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). The School of Evangelism has blessed us beyond measure by encouraging us to follow in the footsteps of the Master, Jesus Christ! In the past week, our members have intentionally set a daily focus on the souls they have placed on their personal ‘Who is my neighbor?’ bookmark. As a result, four Bible studies will take place this week! One will begin on Monday, May 26, and the other three are scheduled for Wednesday, May 28. Please pray for the ones conducting the study and for the hearts of those who will hear the truth of the Gospel, that they will be receptive to the Word of God through the utilization of Back to the Bible. Our compassion cards have been organized, and the evangelism table is set up! We are excited to continue the training for our Compassion Card Ministry, which will begin next Sunday, Lord willing.” Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (evangelist) reports, “Several members have been actively conducting Bible studies, and the enthusiasm for evangelism remains strong. Although I was out of town this past week, training efforts continued in my absence. We plan to resume regular training sessions this coming week as we build on the momentum already in place. We are thankful for all prayers and support as we strive to grow the Kingdom and stay focused on the mission.” Blackman church of Christ, Murfreesboro, Tennessee (remote): Brian McCord (member) reports, “We are preparing for the bedding giveaway on Saturday as well as the work day. We are preparing baskets for the new movers and assigning people to deliver them soon. However, we have to be focused on the bedding giveaway this week. We have had no visitors in the past week. We have sent out 15-20 cards in the past week. We continue to pray for the efforts as well as we try to encourage others to join us in the work. We continue to look for new ways to reach the community as well.” Rome church of Christ, Lebanon, Tennessee (remote): David Oxley (elder) reports, “We met this week for our advanced class. We are sending cards this week to three prospects. We will meet Monday night for our New Converts class and make visits to 10 prospects this week.” Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “We had three first-time visitors, seven newer visitors (2-5 weeks), and ten frequent visitors. We passed out welcome bags. Our members completed two Contact Cards. We greeted 20 visitors, and members welcomed them.” Birdwell Chapel church of Christ, Cottontown, Tennessee: Kerry England (elder) reports, “We mailed over 40 cards this week, and we are praying those who receive them will be encouraged. We hope our efforts will lead to studies! We generated three new contacts this week. We will begin visiting compassion card recipients very soon. We also have new movers to visit.” Rivergate church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “We had two visitors on Wednesday night, four visitors on Sunday morning, and four visitors on Sunday night. Two were taken to eat on Sunday night. One visit was made last week.” White Oak church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee (remote): John McGiffin (preacher) reports, “We continue our efforts to reach those who have visited and those who have not been in attendance for a few weeks. We made several phone calls encouraging folks to return. We offered to help in any way we can to prospect former visitors. We have followed up again this week with texts to several whom we could not reach by phone. We have distributed MANY invitation business cards. We deposit them with everyday contacts like clerks and leave them at gas stations, grocery stores, and department stores. We continue to prepare and gather materials for our upcoming booth at the community celebration on June 21.” 9th and Main church of Christ, San Angelo, Texas: Leon Martinez (evangelist) reports, “We have taught on evangelism all month. This effort includes seeking and saving the lost, and also what to do after souls have obeyed the Gospel as related to retention. In addition, I have been studying with a 70-year-old lady, and she is very hungry for the Word. We have been studying about every other day for a couple of weeks now. Finally, I do not say this to elevate myself but rather to remind the brethren that we have all given up things for the Gospel. The retention aspect is crucial when it comes to new converts, since the church is made up of those ‘who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us’ (Hebrews 6:18). May God strengthen all congregations that continue to bring souls to Christ!” Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “We had several visitors yesterday, and we have names for our card list. One visitor, Chris, who has visited several times, is a member of the church. His wife has had things going on and has not been able to be back. She is not a member, but we hope to get a study with her when they return from France, where they will be going for a week. Another family was a first-time visitor, and they recently moved to Katy. One of our card teams will meet on Sunday evening. No one has reported any other studies to me lately, but we will continue to try to reach those interested.” Granbury Street church of Christ, Cleburne, Texas: Ryan Cowan (deacon) reports, “Over 300 compassion cards were written to our eight prospects on Sunday, May. Two studies are taking place right now. We are planning to make in-person visits to our contacts on Friday, June 20. We are holding a second ‘Mini AMC’ on September 26-27.” Roanoke church of Christ, Texas: Caleb Rutherford (preacher) reports, “Group 3 wrote cards to three prospects. We continued a study with some unfaithful members who are not members of our congregation, but they do visit from time to time. We are currently in the process of setting up a study with the spouse of someone we baptized over a year ago. I have plans to have lunch on Wednesday with someone who visited our services recently. We began to pray publically by name for our prospects during our actual worship. We did that this past Sunday and will continue to do so.” Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “The work continues here at Colleyville. We are working through some troubleshooting in a few areas of the program. Additionally, we have many prospects, but we are struggling to get Bible studies set up. Actively, we have 3 three taking place, with one almost persuaded. Further study is needed concerning the church, the Kingdom, and worship.” Howe church of Christ, Texas: Aaron Alsbrook (preacher) reports, “Last week we continued to make contacts via a work many of our members have used in years past. Our membership puts together a snack basket similar to the New Movers Welcome basket. The membership made snack baskets for the graduating seniors at Howe High School to bless them with their next journey through life. This week, many members are putting together a clothing drive for the community; we pray this effort will lead to more contacts. Although the Howe congregation has been using the Evangelism Model, we are grateful for the different methods of gaining contacts and attempting to promote them through each step. We continue to move forward for the glory of God.” Fruitvale church of Christ, Texas: Carl McCann (elder) reports, “Our studies continue to go well. The nursing home Bible study will come to an end for the summer this Tuesday. We continue to have regular visitors at worship, with six this past Sunday. This past week, Jesse Stuart and Raoul Ferris flew to the Cayman Islands and trained the Georgetown and West Bay congregations on using Back to the Bible. A campaign will be led there this coming July.” Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “We will have our VBS week soon. That usually generates new contacts for us as well as reconnecting with others we already know.” Abingdon church of Christ, Virginia: Freddie Klein (evangelist) reports, “We had a fantastic weekend at the annual Plumb Alley Day. The street was bustling with people from all over the area, and we were right in the middle of it all. We spoke with many attendees and distributed a significant amount of information about the church. As a result, several families from the community expressed interest in joining Trail Life and our homeschool co-op. It was an excellent opportunity to network and make valuable connections. This week, we will focus on conducting our transition visits. We are using our fourth Sundays to create and replenish our transition baskets, visitor bags, and gifts for new movers. On Sunday morning, Nathan preached on the Back to the Bible series, and I reminded our members about the bookmarks, invitation cards, and contact cards, especially in relation to graduation.” Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “We continue our compassion card program, new converts class, and first-time visitor program. We review the evangelism tips from Rob Whitacre each Wednesday night, and we pray for opportunities to teach the Gospel. May God bless all those who are seeking to save the lost.” Westside church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “Seeing the spiritual growth of one relatively young in the faith is very exciting. Last night, a brother who obeyed the Gospel last summer presented our devotional lesson. His lesson was very organized, easy to follow, and most importantly, scripturally based. He has received much encouragement from his wife and his church family. He has faithfully attended our New Converts class and participates in all our activities. Also, following evening services, about 35 members stayed to write 180 cards to those who attended our Community Support Day.” NOTE: These reports are from Christians and congregations enrolled in the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. These emails are sent to teach and provoke one another to remain focused on the mission of Christ. Each week, we share several reports and highlight one with more details.
