Featured Congregation: White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee

Editor’s Note: Kingdom joy describes how I feel when I watch a congregation make the turn toward effective evangelism.  White Bluff church of Christ is doing all the right things to make this happen. It is no accident when a congregation baptizes 10% or more of its membership each year. Consider the update from Brother Shamron Jackson, one of their elders. In a short period of time, they have focused on the essential metrics and how they fit together.  They have baptized four since the seminar, just a couple of months ago. Read this update as it will make you smile!

Turning up the Temperature
by Shamron Jackson (elder)

Greeting visitors and ensuring they are counted as some of our most fruitful contacts has become a central tenet of our congregation. Our visitor count was down again this Sunday, but so was our attendance. We had five visitors, and one was taken to lunch.

We signed 244 cards to go out this week. These cards will go out evenly throughout the week as we seek to till the soil of the heart. Our members are sowing seeds of compassion each week. No new Bible studies were reported at this time, but we are doing the necessary work to obtain them. We know Bible studies take time.

We started our visits to our card recipients on Monday. There is potential for at least two Bible studies from that. I was super pleased with the number of members who were willing to make visits.  We had thirteen on Monday and three that went out later in the week. We plan to go again this coming Sunday afternoon to get caught up and visit in the daylight hours. We began the training on Back to the Bible this past Sunday. We handed out the booklets to the members so they could create their own teacher’s edition. Training our members how to use this tool will create opportunities for Bible studies.

The temperature at White Bluff seems to be continuing to rise. This program has definitely made a difference for us so far. We know that creating an evangelistic culture takes patience and persistence.

Congregational Reports

Glencoe church of Christ, Alabama: Keith Ritchie (evangelist) reports, “This past week produced another good Bible study, as well as more visitors on Sunday. Our goals have been set, and we are looking into changing our target areas for evangelism. Our coordinators are getting prepared, and prayers are appreciated. Our elders met with the congregation on Wednesday night and prepared them for the changes coming in 2026. A congregation will not grow if it is never challenged. May God help us in our efforts. To God be the glory!”

Hartselle church of Christ, Alabama: Justin Smith (preacher) report, “We are winding down our first year in the School of Evangelism, and what a blessing it has been! The saints in Hartselle rejoice as we had another baptism this week. There are three ongoing Bible studies right now, and we are trusting God to give the growth there. We are preparing for our annual end-of-year event, where we serve meals to several hundred community members on Christmas morning. We hope this effort will bring attention to our Lord and His church, and we hope it leads to more contacts, prospects, Bible studies, and baptisms.”

Fayette church of Chris, Alabama: Josh Taylor (deacon) reports, “We are scheduled to have a Bible study with one of our contacts Wednesday. She seems eager to learn about the Bible, and we pray that it goes well. We are working through our Bible study contacts methodically and praying for success. We appreciate continued prayers for us as we invest in the souls of our community!”

Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “Our plans for the week include Christmas shopping for several families who are in need. This is part of our mission effort to reach people with the gospel. It is a busy time of year for everyone, and yet the church continues weekly to work on having studies and inviting people.”

Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Josh Holloway (preacher) reports, “This week we made about ten transition visits. In the process we scheduled a new Bible study with a lady named Debra. She agreed to come over for lunch on Mondays, followed by a Bible study. She was originally just a friend of one of our members who put her name on a contact card. She received several cards and started attending. I am out of town this week, but we start Lesson 1 in Back to the Bible when I return. We ask for prayers as she begins this process.”

Central church of Christ, Saraland, Alabama: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “As we bring 2025 to a close, our elders have announced to the congregation that we are redoubling our efforts to evangelize the lost. This year, we have exceeded our baptism goal with 12 baptisms. We have had several restorations, and we consider the bookmarks at the beginning of every service. The Lord has provided numerous opportunities, and He will continue to do so. We are planting the seed and watering it. We trust it will bear fruit to God’s glory. We had a family of visitors worship with us Sunday evening. Jesse Stuart and his lovely family stopped in on their way back to Texas. He saw our evangelism table and informed us that they are scheduled to host the seminar in October 2026 where he preaches in Big Spring. We tried to encourage them as much as possible, but I know we received just as much edification from their presence as they did from being with us. It was nice to see others with the same commitment to evangelism, and we pray God will bless the Stuarts and the 14th and Main Church of Christ!”

Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We have had seven baptisms this year. A couple of others were baptized that we had a connection with, but we did not actually do the baptizing. We have one Bible study going on and another set to begin this week! Maybe there will be more to come! We have made contact with countless people in our community this year through compassion cards and events. I feel we are making an impact here in Mobile. We are looking forward to making a bigger impact in 2026!”

Chase Park Church of Christ, Huntsville, Alabama: Pat Cowden (evangelist) reports, “About the first week of November, I was visiting a friend named Barry when his daughter approached him while we were outside working on my truck. During a seemingly random conversation, I was introduced to Brooke. Barry, her dad, told her that if she was interested in studying the Bible, I would be glad to study with her. Although she grew up in a Christian home, she had never obeyed the gospel. She expressed interest and asked her close friend, Crystal, if she wanted to study as well. She said yes. We studied twice in the first week, twice in the second week, and finished the study this past Wednesday by answering the remaining questions. We discussed some difficult decisions they both needed to face and make before proceeding further. After staying up most of the night talking, they made the right choices, repented of their sins, confessed Christ, and were baptized into Christ to wash away their sins. We must not assume someone would not be interested in the gospel. Instead, we should offer them the chance to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ by asking if they would like to study. Brooke and Crystal both agreed, and we rejoice in their decision to obey God’s will. Please pray for these two women as they begin their walk with Christ. We also have six other people who are in studies or in the process of arranging studies. We appreciate prayers for all our evangelistic efforts at Chase Park.”

Rison church of Christ, Arkansas: Keden Shrum (preacher) reports, “A family from the community visited on Sunday evening, and they seemed to enjoy their time with us. Care Team B met on Sunday evening to work on cards for three families, two of which are recent visitors. Chandra and I have one study scheduled to begin after the new year with a man from the community.”

Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “Last week was filled with encouraging evangelistic opportunities and clear evidence of God at work among us. First, I had a positive lunch Bible study with someone who has been visiting with us for several months. Although he has shared that he does not currently believe in God, he is genuinely seeking truth. The study went very well, helping to establish meaningful rapport while allowing us to address several thoughtful questions about Christianity. This was our first study together, and we are hopeful to begin the Believe the Bible study with him soon. A follow-up meeting is already scheduled for this week. Second, following Sunday morning’s sermon, Robyn Pyle—who has also been visiting with us for several months—was convicted to respond to the invitation. In her own words, she shared that she ‘has always been a believer but never took that next step,’ adding that it was long past due.’ I was blessed to baptize her immediately, and it was deeply encouraging to see the congregation surround her with love and support. Our Compassion Card writing ministry continues to thrive. On Sunday night, 14 members stayed after services and wrote a total of 140 cards to those in need of encouragement. Finally, our New Movers baskets are being distributed with much gratitude from those receiving them. While no Bible studies have developed yet, the overwhelming majority of recipients have expressed a desire to receive future cards.”

Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “We are rejoicing with Michael Frahm, who decided to be baptized so he could be right with God. Michael was baptized as a child and has attended the Lord’s church most of his life, but lately, he has had questions concerning his salvation. He is also struggling with Alzheimer’s. So our hearts are very happy for Michael, but at the same time, our hearts also hurt knowing of his struggles. One of the beautiful aspects of the church is how it surrounds itself with so much love and support. It gives Michael and his family much strength. Please pray for him and his family. Our current 2025 Year-to-Date Accountability Board numbers are: 352 Total Contacts received; 88 Total Visitors; 267 Neighbors (Prospects whom we have loved and/or studied with); 89 Bible studies (total completed); 2437 Compassion Cards sent; two Restorations, and 20 Baptisms.”

Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Tom Neth (deacon) reports, “We are being blessed in so many ways. As we continue to focus on reaching and impacting our community, we are growing stronger in our involvement, closer as a church family, and more committed to our mission. Last Sunday alone, we welcomed 25 visitors. Over the past few months, we have had more than 100 visitors, and our members continue to invite their friends faithfully. We have also been blessed with five baptisms year to date, currently have four active Bible studies, and are beginning transition visits. At the same time, we are continuing to train, strengthen, and expand our infrastructure. We have increased the number of visitor bags, added new ways to capture visitor information, and engaged our ladies’ Bible class to write follow-up cards to supplement our compassion card efforts. Our Bible study team is praying for success from the visitation team and stands ready to begin these studies, trusting God to give the increase.”

Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “This week we had one study.  Our card ministry has slowed down.  We haven’t had any new prospects, but continue to contact and work with new converts and our current prospect list.  We had at least five returning visitors this week, attending multiple services. Erica, a Christian who hasn’t been attending, came on Sunday after we ran into her at a community Christmas event. We met a new friend at a Church Christmas event and will add them to our prospect list for this week. I invited a neighbor to attend our Bible study, and she is interested. This week, we were busy with budgets and plans for 2026. We are making plans for ways to renew areas of weakness and grow the areas of strength. We are going to consolidate our efforts around what is working for us and what we need to improve.  The one clear thing is the card ministry, greeters, visitor lunches, and Bible study works.  Hospitality in our homes works, and loving people works. The gospel works.  This week, two of our members, John & Lois, gave a ride to two new converts to get their social security cards.  Another member and elder repaired a car of a new convert. A new member of our church, Ann Jefferson, helped provide a ride while another new Christian’s car was broken. This is what the church is and does. Evangelism is built on the foundation of love and caring.  Remember, the words of the Apostle Paul, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:9 NKJV).”

Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “We are still sending cards. We had one new mover last month in our area. We tried to make a visit, but no one was home. We will try again. We had three new movers this month, so we are beginning to send cards. We are praying for some success. Please pray for us. The weather has been horrible in our area, and this is slowing us down, but it is not stopping us. We want to give God the glory in all that we do. Recent statistics: Six visitors, 127 cards sent, one Bible study, and 26 prospects. We have made no visits, but we have tried. The visits will go up as we go further because the compassion cards are nearing their end.”

Lafayette church of Christ, Georgia: Jesse Tague (deacon) reports, “God is good.  The grandson of one of our members has been visiting with us for quite a while … and one of his parents has been resistant to the church.  After much study and encouragement, Caden decided to obey the gospel last Wednesday night — and there is joy in heaven, and so much joy in Lafayette. We also have a visitor who has been coming regularly on our bus — and she has been hearing the gospel preached every time.  She knows what she needs to do to be saved — and we expect it soon.”

Warner Robins church of Christ, Georgia: Damien Walker (evangelist) reports, “I am gearing up to start meeting with men from the congregation to help facilitate the six steps of the model one by one. I am also hoping that this will help embed the purpose and plan of the model so that there will be more congregational ‘buy-in.’ The holidays are a challenge to make things go. I understand the way forward; it is just a matter of crossing the bridge now.”

Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “We have three ongoing Bible studies. We have sent 90 Compassion Cards to our December Prospects. We will be making ten Transition Visits this week.”

Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “We had previously hosted the Panel Pancake Breakfast and provided a water stand for the community parade. These events produced 28 follow-up contacts. The WCOC/Sunabella Assistant Living Facility devotional had approximately six non-Christians on Sunday. The Prison Ministry Group is hopeful that we can baptize three students at the Youth Detention Center this Week. The Compassion Card Group created and sent sixteen cards. WCOC had ten non-Christian visitors this past Sunday morning worship. Attached are more notes about the two baptisms that were conducted last week.”

Edgewood church of Christ, Georgia: Mitchell Deering (deacon) reports, “We had four visitors this week, and compassion cards were sent to each visitor as part of our follow-up effort. At this time, there are no additional prospects available for the compassion card ministry. Bible studies are continuing with previous prospects, and these studies remain active and encouraging. The current challenge continues to be rebuilding the prospect pipeline while faithfully nurturing existing studies.”

Honolulu church of Christ, Hawaii: Tagiiliima Esene (preacher) reports, “Aloha from the Honolulu congregation. This year, we have had a total of six baptisms. Two souls are still in a Bible study at this time. This was a challenging year for our congregation. We’ve lost one of our elders and his wife to a car accident. This had a great impact on our hearts and our work. It also provided us the opportunity to refocus and to plan for the upcoming year. We recently celebrated 70 years of being in our current church building. Souls were encouraged, and we are all excited about the revival. I am currently in American Samoa on a short-term mission trip to visit our home. During this trip, we will be training the Lupelele church of Christ in the School of Evangelism. We will also be flying over to Samoa to help revive a lectureship that has been beneficial for the churches in the Samoan Islands. On a personal level, we also want to connect with family, hoping for opportunities to share the gospel with them. We know where we are as a congregation. We know the potential and capabilities we have. We know the vision that we want in Christ. Next year will be a revival in Honolulu. We appreciate all your prayers. This is us now, and we are building.

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “Two of our studies were rescheduled. We mailed 50 compassion cards. We handed out invitation cards to the congregation. We made three visits and delivered a New Mover basket. We did a follow-up visit. We also delivered 54 Holiday Baskets.”

Columbus church of Christ, Kansas: Matt Fowler (member) reports, “Beth and I had a Bible study with Resa this week. Beth has gone through Back to the Bible with her, and she did not obey the gospel, but she strongly desires further study. We began going through Acts with her. We request prayers for this study. Also, we have had several deaths in our community in recent days, so we would appreciate prayers for opportunities as we try to reach out through compassion cards for those who have lost loved ones.”

Beloit church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dustin Dougherty (regional trainer) reports, “I was able to make contact this week with the man who received from me a copy of Muscle and a Shove. He is still working his way through it, and he said he is enjoying it. I am praying that the deeper he gets into it, it will allow for some discussion and a study will result. I am going to make contact, hopefully on Monday, with someone who expressed potential interest in a study to one of our members recently. We had several visitors at services this morning. Two years ago, one of the ladies had studied with us, but conversion did not result. We are praying that her attendance is a good sign that she is still thinking about the study. I preached through the second half of the Back to the Bible Book 2 this morning. It was good for her to hear the study again, considering her background. I will be back in Ransom, Kansas, this coming weekend to preach for them. To God be the glory.”

Spring Creek church of Christ, Hickory, Kentucky: David Morse (elder) reports, “We continue to work on our evangelism efforts. Our ‘Red Group’ met after Sunday morning services and prior to Sunday evening services to write compassion cards to be mailed this coming week. On Sunday evening, we finished the third Back to the Bible book as a congregation. Our leadership group meets every Wednesday night for an hour and a half to work on our evangelism efforts. We have a few designated members who will be providing training/guidance for our greeters and the follow-up team in the upcoming week. A table has been set up at the entrance to the building with all of our printed evangelism materials prominently displayed for the congregation (photos attached). Since we started this effort in November, we have had eight visitors from our community. We have seventeen active prospects. Other numbers include: 517 compassion cards mailed, three active or completed Bible studies, and one baptism.”

Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (preacher) reports, “We were blessed with two local guests at our midweek Bible classes. Kamisha is a young lady who is very interested in learning more about Central and who seems interested in getting involved with our college-20s group. We are hoping to set up a study with her as her college semester finishes. The other guest (whose name we will not use) seemed interested, but he has some strong mental health issues, and he actually tried to take his own life later in the week. Thankfully, he was not successful, and he has been in contact with me, though the contact will (necessarily) be very limited for a time. We are praying we can help him. Sam, with whom I had been involved in premarital counseling, is looking more at baptism. We are praying that he is getting closer all the time. Dealing with people leads us down all sorts of roads, but Jesus is the answer for every situation, and we pray we can show these individuals that He is the One for them, no matter their life circumstances!”

Flatwoods church of Christ, Kentucky: Nathan Adkins (elder) reports: “Last week, the congregation prepared and delivered 85 stockings to the residents of the Oakmont nursing home. We hope and pray that the residents, staff, and family will think of us when they think about their spiritual needs. We have also prepared 18 new-mover baskets, which will be delivered this week. We had at least one in-home Bible study that went well, and Lesson 3 is scheduled for Saturday. May the Lord give the increase.”

Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: Patrick Adkins (deacon) reports, “Today we wrote 36 cards, bringing our total to 90 for the month of December. We have 12 neighbors/prospects, and we still have Sunday and Wednesday new convert classes. We had a new movers meeting last week, and our monthly second Sunday coordinators meeting today.”

La Plata church of Christ, Maryland (remote): Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “Nevertheless, I don’t have much to report this week for La Plata. Our Friday night video of the week class did a lesson on the topic of “Fear” …we discussed how fear can negatively impact the lives of Christians…how to recognize it and how to overcome it…especially when it comes to accomplishing the will of the Lord. Great class…I think it’ll go a long way towards helping our evangelism efforts, here in La Plata. We’re getting members registered for AMC in March 2026 and building excitement for it in the congregations in the Washington DC & Baltimore area…to God be the glory…”

Beltway church of Christ, Maryland: LeAndre Johnson (preacher) reports, “We are in the midst of two studies. One is ongoing, and one is with a lady who has been in the presence and fellowship of the congregation for years. She is the neighbor of one of our members and loves coming, but now she wants to be baptized. We are teaching to reassure her of her decision. We have made two additional contacts from our food giveaway.”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “We had a restoration Wednesday. A sister came forward struggling in her faith and commitment to God because of her health and how her family has been treating her. We prayed for her and continue to check in on her. We had two visitors this past Sunday. They were returning visitors, and we were excited to see them back. Usually, after the third visit, I will ask them for a Bible study. Three seems to be the magic number for people who agree to a Bible study. I have two Bibles set up for this week, both on Lesson 2. Todd (one of the elders) and I have been visiting the sick and delivering food where needed to those who are sick. We have many illnesses in the church right now. The mentors have been checking in on all the babes in Christ who have missed services. Most of the time, we find that they are sick, which is better than them losing faith and interest in the church. We have had several Christmas parties this month, which have allowed us to invite friends and neighbors to get to know the church better. We have the Christmas Fruit Baskets that will be fun for the whole church. We get together for breakfast, put together the baskets of fruit, then go out together and deliver them to friends and neighbors of the members.”

East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “We had five visitors Sunday. After the worship service, we watched the video ‘Growing Church: Everyone Has a Place.’ Here are our baptismal stats. Our goal for this year for baptisms was five. By the grace of God, nine precious souls were saved. Victoria  Litovcheko , March 9, 2025; Analicia  Jones, March 10, 2025; Jamie Wong, June 8, 2025; Charisse Ayres, July 13, 2025; Jermaine Cammock, August 12, 2025; Jackie King, August 17, 2025; Kevin McMillan III, October 2, 2025; Shanel Richardson, November 9, 2025; and Shaneil Milliner, November 23, 2025. We appreciate all encouragement.”

Glendale Street church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina: Dayle Taylor (minister) reports: “We have one prospect currently studying Back to the Bibleseries, and he attended worship Sunday. His wife was working and could not attend. The study with the couple is set for Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at noon. Other prospect absences include a couple away traveling, and yet another couple rushed their daughter to the hospital. One young lady notified us of late-night issues that hindered her attendance. The two members who were restored to Christ are in fellowship with the church and attending worship. They are not currently in Bible studies. We are working to that end. Prayers continue and are requested for their full restoration. Card coordinators are compiling data and gathering gift items for home visits.”

Oak Forest church of Christ, Goldsboro, North Carolina: Lennie Regan (preacher) reports, “Our training is going well, and we are combining our Sunday evening training with Sunday morning evangelistic sermons. Our elders are doing a great job teaching our training classes. Our attendance at the training classes is strong, and our enthusiasm is high. We are seeing members bring themselves out of their comfort zones, and it is great to see their surprise when they realize success when they work the plan. Our compassion card teams are finalized, and cards are going out. We currently have five Bible studies with four baptisms. Two of our studies are new studies. We are grateful for God’s blessings and the power of the gospel.”

Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “We had bad weather and only one visitor, who came late, and we did not get contact information. We received 14 contact cards and conducted three transition visits. We prepared 117 Compassion Cards to mail throughout the week.”

New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) reports, “One Bible study continues (Book 3 of Back to the Bible). We are praying for good results. I will begin a new Bible study with a couple on Wednesday afternoon. We appreciate all prayers for these studies.”

Sullivan Village church of Christ, Lawton, Oklahoma: Steven Hill (preacher) reports, “We have had about ten baptisms this year, and our latest one was this evening. We studied with a young man named Jacob, and he obeyed the gospel. We continue to teach our new converts and build them up. We are grateful and looking forward to a new year with more opportunities for evangelism.”

Coweta church of Christ, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma: Houston Shrum (associate minister) reports: “On Sunday, we started our Continued Education workshop. Keno brought training on the model and is continuing with in-depth training on making the various aspects of the model actionable. We have a few prospects we are working on currently. Keno and Jamie have dinner and a Bible study with a recent visitor this Saturday evening. Keno and Patrick will have another study next week with Evan.”

Owasso church of Christ, Owasso, Oklahoma: David Combs (elder) reports: “So far this month, we have had four visitors. We also have three prospects and have made 15 visits. We have mailed 106 compassion cards and have had four Bible studies. We have several ongoing studies. We have had 15 baptisms this year and are hoping for at least three more.”

Cheyenne church of Christ, Oklahoma: Nathan Brewer (coordinator) reports: “We had our community breakfast Saturday and had six non-members from town attend. We will follow up this week with compassion cards.”
York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “We continue to send cards and pray for visitors and contacts in the coming weeks.”

St. Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (preacher) reports, “Sunday, part two of John 4, ‘Jesus: The Politically Incorrect Evangelist,’ was preached. There was one response; a Christian came back to the Lord in repentance and requested prayers from the church. After the sermon, we had the congregation pull out their bookmarks and had a moment of silence for everyone to pray for the names on their bookmark. In the adult Bible class, the video, ‘Contacts: A Bookmark Devotional (Who Is My Neighbor)?’ was shown. We had three people in our New Converts class. We have one member who met with a friend who is a Mormon to have a study. They have not yet entered into Book 1 of Back to the Bible.”

Rome church of Christ, Lebanon, Tennessee: David Oxley (elder) reports, “We have two Bible studies planned for this week. We will meet for our new converts class on Monday.”

Soddy Daisy church of Chris, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “We are thankful for the fellowship and work we have in Christ Jesus! This week, Care Team 2 will mail out 64 compassion cards, and some in our transition team will set up some transitional meetings. We were able to meet with our new friend Bobby yesterday. He was extremely thankful for the numerous cards he received after the passing of his son. We are hopeful that we will be able to foster our new relationship with him and begin studying with him. As we finish out 2025, we are grateful for the continuous prayers from all of you and are looking forward to the opportunities that 2026 will bring!”

Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “We sent out compassion cards to one of our members who has gone back into the world. We pray these efforts will prick her heart so she can be restored. We continue to plan for Bible studies and have three pending currently. We continue to pray for all enrolled in HTHSOE. God bless all who serve Him.”

Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Joshua Kennedy (preacher) reports, “We have a couple of studies and a few additional possible studies. We have been sending out compassion cards to a couple of folks. We have also been working and have seen improvements with folks sending in contact cards.”

West Fayetteville church of Christ, Tennessee: Steve Jefferson (elder) reports, “Our elders have been announcing and encouraging the congregation of a renewed effort to make our school of evangelism work more effectively. We also want to involve as many of our members as possible. We are making some needed changes that we want to begin by the first of the year. We appreciate all prayers for our congregation.”

Ocoee Street church of Christ, Copperhill, Tennessee: R.E. Vann (elder) reports, “We are still working the plan. We will be delivering 100 Holiday Stockings to the residents and staff of our local nursing home next week. This weekend, we will be making nine transition visits. To Him be the glory forever.”

West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “We continued our Back to the Bible study with the congregation. We currently have three Bible studies, and we had two new visitors today whom we will immediately put on our prospect list!”

Grundy Street church of Christ, Tullahoma, Tennessee: John Duncan (elder) reports, “Our regular visitors are still attending. The couple that had been absent since COVID has worshiped with us the last three weeks. We are still sending them cards of encouragement and pray they will remain steadfast. Last week, our care card team mailed 29 cards.”

Arlington church of Christ, Tennessee: Brandon Tibbits (preacher) reports, “ We had to reschedule the third study with that family. We are constantly working to the point where we are running out of cards. We are running out of time through the contacts from the campaign and we’re praying for success in spreading the gospel.”

Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “So far this year, we have had 13 baptisms. We continue to have several active Bible studies that we pray will result in new brothers and sisters. Many great works continue to work together to bring the lost to Christ. We continue to stay dedicated to the commission of Christ in Chapel Hill.”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “As 2025 draws to a close, if the Lord permits 2026 to transpire, we will have achieved a total of six baptisms and restorations. While this falls short of our initial goal, it surpasses our progress prior to implementing the School of Evangelism process. The most significant progress was made in the past two years, and the most challenging work commenced this year. We have reached individuals who have not been raised in homes that prioritize the full respect of God’s word, those who attempt to balance a Christ-centered life with a life of self-pleasure and worldly pursuits, and those who have recently converted but are now seeking fulfillment elsewhere. This pattern aligns with the process described in the New Testament, where individuals initially reject the message of Christ, accept it, and then fall away, accept it but later become entangled in the allure of Progressive Christianity, or convert and experience continued growth in their relationship with God. While this process can be discouraging at times, we remain steadfast in our commitment to the plan and diligently plant the seeds of faith in any way possible, trusting that God will provide the necessary increase.”

New Union church of Christ, Manchester, Tennessee:  Paul Fultz (elder) reports, “We have one new contact card submitted on Sunday. We prepared 25 compassion cards to mail this week. We made three transition visits. Our new convert class has two attendees.”

McEwen church of Christ, Tennessee: John Jones (preacher) reports, “A few months ago, a young couple came to me to request to be baptized after attending services. We studied the Bible and soon realized they were living together but not married, so we emphasized that repentance would include making that right. Sadly, at that point, the studies fell off, and I was worried I would not see them again. They kept attending, however, and last month I preached on God’s plan for marriage. They reached out to let me know that they had gotten married at the courthouse soon after the study stopped. After studying the Bible together and taking their confession that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, I was blessed with the opportunity to baptize the young man for the forgiveness of his sins. He then baptized his wife. Please pray for this newly married couple and their new lives together in Christ.”

Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (evangelist) reports, “Up to this point, we’ve had 14 visitors, sent out 836 cards, worked with 40 prospects, and conducted 10 Bible studies. It’s been encouraging to see steady interest and several good conversations emerge from those efforts. Our new movers program has really been picking up momentum. We’ve already delivered 33 baskets, and the response has been very positive. It’s becoming one of our strongest points of contact in the community. We’re also excited about a new opportunity we have coming up. We’re partnering with another local church to host a New Year’s game night countdown, which should give us another great chance to build relationships and make connections in the community.”

Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “We are thankful that one of our members responded Wednesday evening after our devotional, requesting prayers and restoration. Our compassion card groups will begin follow-up this week with our visitors from our community event that was held on Saturday.”

Birdwell Chapel church of Christ, Cottontown, Tennessee: Kerry England (elder) reports, “Several visitors were in attendance Sunday. We have had three individuals and a family place membership recently. Pancakes with Santa went very well on Saturday morning. We had six families visit from the community, plus several friends from other congregations attended as well. The children were busy with several activities. This allowed us to spend some time talking to their parents. We also gave approximately 15 food boxes with information on the church to people. We mailed cards to all these individuals on Sunday night, along with compassion cards. There is one Bible study scheduled this week.”

Rivergate church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “We had two visitors Wednesday. We had nine visitors on Sunday morning. Six of them stayed for a meal that we had after service. We had a woman asking for prayers to be restored on Wednesday night. She also placed membership.”

Colleyville church of Christ, Texas:  John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “With the holiday season, things have been slowing down. However, this does allow us to re-evaluate parts of the program. Currently, we have one active Bible study. Two others are strong prospects for Bible studies in the transition. We are also working with multiple other prospects. In this holiday season, we are reaching out to them with acts of compassion.”

Roanoke church of Christ, Texas: Caleb Rutherford (preacher) reports, “We had another baptism this week. Brianna (niece of one of our members) has been studying with two of our members, Mike and Cheri. The study spanned about two months, and this week, Brianna obeyed the Gospel. She was greeted with warm hugs and open arms on Sunday, and she greatly appreciated the opportunity to attend our New Beginnings class. This brings our baptism total to five, along with one restoration for the year. We continue to focus on evangelism. We have scheduled a congregational meeting on January 10 to brief the membership on what it will entail for us to host AMC this coming summer.”

Southwest church of Christ, Austin, Texas: Bryce Mayfield (evangelist) reports, “After encouragement from many and study with several men in the congregation (the last four being with Ross Haffner), Christopher Gagliano was baptized into Christ for the remission of his sins! He has been visiting with us for several months now and has decided to obey the Gospel today. We know God is glorified, and we join Heaven in rejoicing!”

Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Mel Hutzler (elder) reports, “We are happy to announce another baptism, especially one that shows how times of long suffering and allowing God’s word to work makes the difference. Sometimes people need extra time and a more in-depth study. So we welcome our brother Blake to the family of God. In addition, we have begun to go to all the local businesses that surround the building. This week, we have an act of benevolence that we hope will bring us an opportunity to share more about the church. We currently have five Bible studies going on and seven New Converts studies.”

Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Kodie Martin (evangelist) reports, “This last week was our first effort to make transition visits for our first round of prospects. We made two visits, each of which was positive, but we gained no study setup. However, we will follow up. The remainder of our visits are set to take place this upcoming week, and we are all optimistic about how they are going. We began going through Back to the Bible during our morning service. The response has been positive so far, and we know this information will be beneficial for both members and visitors, especially since there are prospects in attendance. Additionally, we had 11 visitors come for worship! As the year is closing, we are excited with our statistics, and we know that after only three months we have seen great changes, and know that the next year will bring many blessings through what Christ can do for and through His church.”

Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “I have an elder’s family working to ask two of our contacts for studies, one hot and one warm. I added another bulletin article about being baptized, so I hope that will spark some to think about the subject as I find those who might be in need.”

Bridge Avenue church of Christ, Weslaco, Texas: Braulio Carvajal III (preacher) reports, “We continue to be blessed with visitors and establishing contacts. This week, we had five visitors and eight prospects join us for services and Bible studies. We continue to engage our new converts in Bible studies, both individually and in groups. In addition, we have three ongoing Bible studies.”

North Jefferson church of Christ, Mt. Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (evangelist) reports, “On Saturday, we had our annual congregational Giveaway Day. We gave away clothes, furniture, toys, home decor, and more that had been donated. It was a great opportunity to have people in our building and families in our Bible class rooms, where we had children’s clothes. We made 37 contacts and helped a family whose home burned down on Friday. We are really excited about the potential in our follow-up! Also, in a transition visit last week, Mrs. Tonya agreed to have a Bible study with another member and me this Thursday. She is the mother of a former member who moved away, and we are really excited to study Book 1 with her this week. Sadly, Ms. Jada has not shown up to the Bible study with two of our ladies, but they are still trying to get with her. Reach Team 1 met yesterday and wrote cards.”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “For the last several weeks, we have increased our Sunday morning attendance to over 100 each week, with 115 this past Sunday, and a full parking lot. Brittany responded to our invitation, and a study will be set up with her as soon as possible. Bernadette has requested that we study with her. Jim is hoping to begin a study with a young woman who has been attending our services this week. One of our card teams met to address cards to Lilianna. Over the past year, we had nine baptisms, which met the goal we set at the beginning of the year.”

Howe church of Christ, Texas: Aaron Alsbrook (preacher) reports, “As the year is winding down and we are preparing for the upcoming year, our congregation’s participation in the evangelism model is increasing. We have many bible studies that are continuing and coordinators in place of greeters, gifts, and, naturally, our compassion cards. We look forward to another year of working with the HTHSOE model and teaching in 2025.”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “This week the food bags were put together to distribute next Saturday during our monthly door knocking. We pray for the new converts and those who have completed their Bible study. For those who have yet to obey the gospel, we pray that God will give them strength to endure the evil one.”

West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “Sunday night’s Compassion Card writing session was one of our best to date. We had LOTS of cards to be written to those who attended our recent Community Support Day event. Our members rallied to the request and completed this effort very quickly! Our evening lesson discussed heaven, our desire to be there, and doing our part by sharing the saving message of Christ to everyone we can to give them the same hope through obedience that we have.”
