Featured Congregation: Eight Mile Rock church of Christ, Grand BahamaThe “Not So Popular” Church Sister Geri Hernandez was baptized into Christ on June 20th. The baptism took place in Orlando, Florida, where Geri lives and works. She was introduced to us by Sister Felicia Barbes, who was baptized in July 2024. These two young women met in college in Missouri and stayed connected over the years. From time to time, Geri would visit Felicia in Freeport, Grand Bahama, and on her January 2025 visit, Geri was invited to worship. She happily came with Felicia’s family and met the congregation. From that day, Felicia began working toward getting Geri into a Bible study. She set it as part of her Spiritual goals. In November 2025, those studies began as a “Ladies’ Bible study” with my wife, Felicia, and Geri on Zoom. Soon after the studies began, Geri was comfortable, and the meetings shifted to one-on-one. Geri was honest, good-hearted, and open to the Word of God. When “the church of the Bible” came up in study, she was interested in finding the church she was studying about. One Sunday, she even went to a local school where a small ‘non-denominational’ church was meeting. Geri shared that it seemed the only way she would find the church described in the Scriptures was to go to ones that were “not so popular” to see what they were teaching and practicing. At this point, she was actively searching and was connected to a faithful congregation in her area. That required coordination among brethren in the body who were eager to help Geri despite not having met her. The best congregation for Geri ended up being the Concord Street church of Christ, where the preacher, David Pharr, organized connections to welcome her with open arms. By God’s providence, the day of Geri’s first visit, Rob Whitacre and his family were visiting for an Evangelism workshop. The Whitacres will be with us in a few months to help strengthen the efforts here. For two months after Geri connected with the Concord Street church, she continued her studies by Zoom. She had also met a few times with her brother, Garfield Williams, from Concord Street. On the one hand, she was studying “Counting the Cost” of becoming a Christian, and on the other, she was being taught about God’s grace. Brother Garfield encouraged Geri not to delay her own salvation by trying to get things “just right,” because there was no “perfect” time. She knew the Gospel; she had found the Kingdom, and now she prepared her heart to live a life of repentance. She only needed to let Christ’s blood cleanse her from sin so she could be added to The Body. Congregational ReportsGlencoe church of Christ, Alabama: Keith Ritchie (evangelist) reports, “The Glencoe church of Christ had a wonderful Lord’s Day with six visitors. Contacts were made, and our card teams have gone to work. We have a planning session for evangelistic outreach works and are excited to put these ideas into action. With House to House being sent to a different area, we are also looking forward to our door-knocking efforts there soon. In the past six weeks, we have had at least eight precious souls respond in repentance. Not only is evangelism saving souls, it is also keeping souls as well. Please pray for the Glencoe congregation in Alabama. To God be the glory!” Chase Park church of Christ, Huntsville, Alabama: Pat Cowden (evangelist) reports, “We have four Bible studies in progress, but they are slow-going. Our visitors have deep ties to denominations. We are just working through them as they can bear it. We will share more on how the studies progress.” Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “We met this past Sunday for our monthly meal, discussion, and assigned visits. Several new movers were discussed and have been visited, and we talked about follow-up visits. We are also sending cards to the parents of a recent convert; we plan to visit them soon in hopes of arranging a study.” Petersville church of Christ, Florence, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “Petersville sent 12 compassion cards last week. The summer offers many great opportunities for sharing the Gospel. Lucas has been at Maywood Christian Camp, and Adam is at Palmetto Bible Camp this week. One of our young men, Silas, was baptized at his family’s creek, and we rejoice in his decision! One of our new members invited two friends to church service last Wednesday, so contacts are being made.” Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We have begun transforming our building for VBS starting this Sunday night! We expect a lot of visitors! David and I are continuing a study tomorrow with a couple who have been visiting. We have another Bible study going on as well as other great prospects!” Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Josh Halloway (preacher) reports, “We are continuing our evangelism efforts. We still have around five regular Bible studies. This week, we will be sending out 76 cards. The grand total is 5668.” Fayette church of Christ, Alabama: Josh Taylor (deacon) reports, “Opportunities find you. It will always happen. The difference is whether or not we are prepared for the opportunity. One member told me about an encounter at the hospital. She met a lady who just needed to talk to someone. The question was how this member would handle this encounter. The account unfolded, and with our members asking those good questions, OPEB ended with questions such as “Tell me about where you go to church.” It is not if but when we receive these encounters. Are we ready? We received contact information for this person and we are looking for the opportunity to reach out to her, along with all the visitors we continue to have. We pray these are fruitful. We appreciate all prayers!” Central church of Christ, Saraland, Alabama: Steve Jernigan (elder) reports, “Central’s compassion card writing hasn’t slowed down as we continue to send out cards to those on our hearts, knowing our job is to plant the seed. The New Converts’ class has almost completed the study through the Bible, and the growth can be seen through the questions asked. These Christians have gained confidence in their knowledge of the scriptures so that they can discuss them with friends and neighbors without fear. We are excited about the next steps here at Central with Jason and Wendy Chesser joining us and the possible new souls being added to the Lord’s church through this work.” Bergman church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Vince Stewart (preacher) reports, “I am getting close to finishing up the Sunday morning evangelism class unless I can find more to cover. The attendance has still been very good. On Sunday, I finished the last lesson of the seminar, ‘Applying the Model.’ We have started writing compassion cards for the woman whose fiancée was killed in a motorcycle wreck. On a positive note to share in the next class, Travis Rogers responded to the compassion cards we have been sending him. He said, “Don’t think the work you have done has gone unnoticed,” referring to all the compassion cards he has received. They have really lifted his spirits. Rick Moore (church member) is still trying to organize a time to go visit him as there has not been an opportunity to make that move yet. Also, Rick and his wife have been watching for a new mover to move into a new double-wide down the road from them, and he is inquiring from the one he knows about who will be doing the excavating when someone moves in. We are looking forward to PTP in Branson.” Harrisburg church of Christ, Arkansas: Mark Weston (elder) reports, “Summer has made it to Arkansas! July came in with a bang. Lots of sunshine, extreme heat with indexes in the triple digits all week, and humidity that was just so heavy it was suffocating! I have lived in Arkansas all my life, and I don’t think I will ever get used to the weather. It is just something you learn to endure. Despite the humidity, July has been a wonderful month so far! We have been in a Summer Series on Wednesday evenings with a different minister doing the lesson, and it has been wonderful. We heard another wonderful lesson this past week from Terry Joe Key, minister at the Greensboro Road congregation in Jonesboro; he spoke on the faith of Abraham. On Friday, two souls were baptized into Christ. Brittany Smith and her son Slade have been visiting for some time now. They have visited off and on for months and months, but they have been visiting regularly for the past three or four months. We worked both through our compassion card program and have watched them soak in God’s Word as they visited and sought answers. On Friday, they made the decision not to put off what was needed to be done any longer. So on Saturday, as our nation celebrated 250 years of freedom, these two began celebrating freedom from past sins! Our hearts truly rejoice with them, along with our entire church family. We are currently sending compassion cards to Brittany’s dad, who recently had to have a leg amputated; he is staying with Brittany. We hope to soften his heart and see results there as well. On Sunday morning, Brock finished Lesson 2 of Back to the Bible study guide. That continues to be very effective for our entire congregation, and I am sure it played a major role in the decision of Brittany and Slade to become Christians. We also had a brother in Christ respond on Sunday, asking for prayers that he might be stronger in his faith and his walk with God. He feels inadequate in certain areas of his life, but he has always had a tender heart and has been a strong example, whether he feels it or not, to all of us in this congregation. I wish we had more members with hearts as tender as his! Our compassion card Team 1 met on Sunday night, and we sent out 75 cards this week. Again, we are just working the program and allowing God to work through us. I am constantly amazed at how God has changed our congregation’s attitude and self-confidence. We still need to catch up with new movers and deliver baskets to them. I have dropped the ball there and fallen behind. We will try to get moving on that right away. We still have several other regular visitors that we hope we can study with in the near future. I visited with one of those last night after services, and he is still excited about all he is learning. I can’t seem to get him to the Bible study just yet, but I am confident that it will come and that it will prove successful. We are currently working with 13 prospects; if we maintain the course, positive results will follow. July has been hot, but it has also been wonderful!” Northside church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Larry Keener (elder) reports, “Northside in Harrison has had a great week with two baptisms. Shawn Methvin from our Golden Years outreach and Vance Fouraker, a teenager, were on a foreign mission trip. We are looking forward to Keno Shrum training us this week. To God be the Glory.” Concord Street church of Christ, Orlando, Florida: Billy Dickson (evangelist) reports, “Please join us in praying for our 11 ongoing Bible studies. Our congregation is entering the third week of Back to the Bible training; we will begin Book 2 this Sunday morning. We are encouraged by the congregation’s enthusiasm. Our New Convert’s class continues to meet each week, helping strengthen and encourage those who are new in the faith. We also continue our weekly Compassion Card ministry, with one team gathering each Sunday to write cards to prospects and visitors. Next Sunday, we will begin training our Transition Team to better connect with prospects and help them move to Bible studies. We appreciate all continued prayers as we seek to equip the congregation for evangelism and make disciples.” Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Tom Neth (deacon) reports, “This week we concluded our four-week VBS trial. As always, our children had a wonderful experience, but the greatest value may have been what we learned about intentionally incorporating outreach into our existing programs. While there were no immediate measurable results from the effort, we were encouraged by the visitors who attended, the warm welcome they received, and the seeds that were planted. We are already applying what we learned to our Summer Series and other congregational activities. Perhaps our biggest takeaway is that we do not always need to create special outreach events. Instead, we can be more effective by intentionally restructuring the ministries and programs we already have so they naturally become opportunities to build relationships, welcome guests, and share the Gospel. Alongside these efforts, we continue our everyday work of writing compassion cards, greeting visitors, making connections, and sharing God’s Word. These consistent acts of service remain the foundation of our outreach. Year to date, we have written more than 1,800 compassion cards, greeted over 200 visitors, and shared countless meals as we build relationships within our community. We are thankful to report 12 baptisms this year, and currently we have two active Bible studies. We remain grateful for God’s blessings and are encouraged that, as we faithfully sow the seed and look for ways to make every ministry outreach-minded, He continues to provide opportunities for growth.” Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “VBS is gearing up, and we are looking for ways to make our outreach better at this event. We have had visitors express interest, but we have not any follow-through in recent years. This week, we had one new visitor and several returning visitors. We are studying with two people and expecting a decision soon. It is so encouraging to look around and see recent converts growing and working in the Kingdom. We are making some big plans for the second half of the year and for next year. The future is bright.” Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “We made 18 contacts in one morning of door-knocking! Praise God! Our youth group went out into the local neighborhoods to promote our upcoming VBS. Before they went out, I taught them several of the methods I learned from the AMC campaign in Roanoke. After three hours, we had knocked 250 doors, had dozens and dozens of conversations, and made 18 new contacts! Plus, everyone one came back super excited about how successful they were at talking to and praying with our neighbors. They could hardly wait to go back out again! In addition, I also sat down with one of our new coordinators and revisited our entire ministry structure of coordinators and teams. We streamlined some of our areas of work and now have a clearer picture of where we need more volunteers and where we need to improve. Our total 2026 Accountability Board numbers are: 190 Contacts Received; 106 Neighbors (Prospects); 685 Compassion Cards sent; 23 Bible studies; one Restoration, and 10 Baptisms.” Milestone church of Christ, Cantonment, Florida: Randy Brantley (elder) reports, “We had seven visitors yesterday. Three of them were the result of compassion cards. We will be starting a Bible study with Clint and his wife this Thursday. We are thrilled that Margret wanted to join us. We had a study with her, and she realized she had been baptized for the wrong reason and was baptized on Sunday for the remission of her sins. It was a great day!” Cumming church of Christ, Georgia: Murphy O’Brien (member) reports, “Hopefully all our members are receiving Rob Whitacre’s updates. One of the emails sent regularly is titled, “Reaching the Lost.” This recurring update is exciting to read through, and all members are encouraged to see the metrics other congregations are tracking each week and their success stories. Many of these congregations are very similar to Cumming, and they are experiencing the same type of challenges and opportunities we are also facing. Total Prospects: five, New Visitors info last week: three, Total Visitors Info this year, 13, Visitors follow-ups last week: four. 27 cards sent last week, and total cards sent this year: 100, Bible studies last week: one, Total Baptisms this year: one.” Sean O’Brien (elder) reports, “Things are going very well. We have had some challenges, but nothing major and all to be expected. The brethren are enthusiastic and excited. We have started the bookmarks and also the prospect list. Last Sunday, about 70 cards were written by a group of sisters during the second service (after we ended the afternoon worship). Some of the brethren have struggled with the afternoon worship being “worship” since the sermons are shorter. Larry and I decided that we would no longer do our pew packers (which used to take the first 10 minutes before afternoon worship started. By cutting it out, we give our worship time another 10 minutes). Our young people have somewhat graduated from pew packers, and Larry and I are starting to see the work period after the PM service as an active “adult version” of pew packers, of sorts.” Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “From our church parking lot, there is a great view of an annual fireworks show. We invited the community to join us in watching the show. At least 200 came, possibly close to 300. Our parking lot was full, and cars were parked on the nearby street. Bible studies were set up. Dozens of contacts were made, who will be receiving compassion cards. The HTHSOE Student Program is still going strong. I have been communicating with several students. They are thankful the program is available.” Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “Woodstock church of Christ (WCOC), and the Sunabella Assistant Living Facility devotional had approximately six non-Christians at the devotional on Sunday. Cherokee County had the 4th of July parade this weekend. This parade ran in front of our church building. During this event, we collected 12 contacts. We had seven visitors at WCOC this past Sunday. The compassion group sent out 15 compassion cards. WCOC had eight Bible studies last week.” Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “Our numbers are way down this week because of the celebration of our grandson’s life. We did add another prospect to our list, so we have four prospects now. Please pray for us. To God be the glory.” Warner Robins church of Christ, Georgia: Damien Walker (evangelist) reports, “We had 41 visitors on Sunday. One family visited after our follow-up efforts from VBS. We still need to connect with several repeating visitors, and we hope to set up Bible studies. We are having our annual Back to School Breakfast on July 18, where we will also give out free backpacks and school supplies, so we are going to be reaching out to the community to get more people in the door. We are having some Bible studies, and our transition team has assignments to visit prospects.” Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “It is that time of the summer when people go on vacation. Most of our seed Sowers are out of town. No studies were conducted last week. We mailed 59 compassion cards. We made five new mover visits, with two delivered. We made one new contact.” Columbus church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Matt Fowler (member) reports, “It was a month of growth and encouragement for us, and we pray July will pick up where June left off. We have continued our training on Evangelism Visualized by going through the charts. We have our New Convert classes going strong. We appreciate prayers for our recent converts to remain faithful and for more doors to open for the Gospel. We are praying for other efforts as well, brethren!” 15th Street church of Christ, Ottawa, Kansas (remote): Brady Altic (associate minister) reports, “VBS last week went well. We have two good prospects who had a lot of questions after VBS. We will be working on getting them into a Bible study soon, and are writing them cards to welcome them all back. We are also writing cards to Dean, who has some medical issues and has been asking about what happens when you die. We are hopeful to get into a Bible study with him soon. Prayers are appreciated and needed for our congregation to stay steadfast in this work for the Lord.” Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (elder) reports, “This week felt at times like a little bit of a ‘swoon’ in our local efforts, due to so many people being out of town for the holiday or out of the country on mission efforts. However, we continue to build our teams for the 2026-2027 year — which begins in August — and we are giving some coordinators more specific goals and training so they can better prepare their teams to launch. On the non-local front, we received word that our group in Zambia witnessed 35 baptisms on Sunday morning, and that a World Bible School student whom one of our ladies had been studying with was baptized on Sunday as well. All these things help us remember to take the Gospel next door and around the world!” Carriage Oaks church of Christ, Bossier City, Louisiana: Andrew Wynne (preacher) reports, “There continues to be a heavy focus on reaching the lost at the Carriage Oaks church of Christ. Last Thursday, we had two baptisms. Yesterday (July 5), I preached on the subject of restoring wayward members. We had a meeting after our morning worship service to discuss some introductory ideas for our visitor bags and new-movers baskets. We hope to develop those areas in the coming weeks. Our first organized compassion card-writing session is scheduled for this Wednesday night after Bible class. We continue to have ongoing studies with non-Christians and new Christians. People are serving, and God is being glorified. We appreciate all prayers for our ongoing efforts.” Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: Ben Vallery (deacon) reports, “July was off to a great start with 20 cards sent and two new neighbors on this month’s list. We continue to reach out to visitors as they worship with us. We have two on our list this month so far. Our New Convert classes continue each time we meet for class. We appreciate prayers as we also pray for other congregations and workers.” Waldorf church of Christ, Maryland: Joseph Day (member) reports, “At Waldorf, we had seven visitors at worship. Last week, we signed and delivered compassion and invitation cards. We received a thank you from one of the recipients who is very thankful for the support! We appreciate prayers as we continue our efforts to reach not just to the broken-hearted, but also to the ones who are hungry and thirsty for God’s Word!” La Plata church of Christ, Maryland: Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “Last week we wrote 43 compassion cards on Sunday, we had three visitors, and we delivered two new movers’ baskets.” Oak Grove church of Christ, Missouri: David Wiseman (elder) reports, “The activity level within our congregation is very good. We just finished our first group of transition visits. Hopefully, we can get more consistent on these. It has been a busy time of year finishing VBS, having summer Bible camps, and having the Independence Day celebrations. We had a July 4th celebration on July 5th with our monthly fellowship meal. A few visitors joined us. It is always good to get together as a church family and share a meal and just have fun. Sunday was another really good Sunday for us as we had another big crowd at services. Last week, we sent out 12 compassion cards. There were 13 visitors at the AM services and eight at our PM services.” Iuka church of Christ, Mississippi: Sam Glover (preacher) reports, “On our end, we have good news. We can celebrate two baptisms and ask for prayers regarding a small initiative we will be working towards. Our ladies’ class is going to make a concerted effort to identify everyone who used to attend here at Iuka but stopped attending, and to reach out to each of them to reestablish contact and invite them to worship with us again. Specifically, their goal is to invite everyone to worship on the 19th.” Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “This past Sunday, a gentleman came forward wanting to be restored. We have been studying with him and his wife, and we will continue these studies to help his understanding of the scriptures. We also had our annual Ice Cream contest in conjunction with our fellowship meal. This year, Avie/Taylor Nevins won “Best Ice Cream” with their Triple Berry Cobbler Ice Cream. Todd Wilemon won “Most Original” with his Classic Strawberry. The congregation always enjoys this activity and looks forward to it every year. We are continuing to progress with several Bible studies and are working to bring others into a study. The one-on-one personal Bible studies, as we all know, are the most effective way to help someone understand the Gospel message as outlined in the scriptures.” Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Terry Hale (evangelist) reports, “We are prospecting several, with two studies hopeful for this week. The New Convert’s class is going well with everyone involved, and everyone is excited about learning. We hope to get the opportunity for a newer member to be involved in one of the studies this week. We appreciate prayers as we continue to train the members and reach out to more in this area to learn the importance of the effective ways that House to House School of Evangelism teaches.” Abilene church of Christ, Statesville, North Carolina (remote): Gary Dull (minister) reports, “D’Lea McDaniel is leading a study with Mary Lou and Glenora. Deborah is her silent partner. Jocques Pettit and Deborah framed the poster for the evangelism model, which we will hang in the fellowship hall as we are having Sunday night and Wednesday night services there. We continue to send out compassion cards. We average 57 cards every Sunday night. We are a small church with a heart to work.” Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “We had 24 visitors, sent 88 compassion cards, and had one restored this week. Of the 24 visitors, most were family from out of town visiting members of our congregation. The visitors from the area have already provided a contact card and are being prospected. We also have three current Bible studies ongoing.” Owasso church of Christ, Oklahoma: David Combs (elder) reports, “Yesterday we passed out invitation cards in bundles of 10 to each member. Tim, our Spark plug, gave us a pep talk about the overall process. The following evening, Group 1 met to write compassion cards. Fifteen card writers met to write 34 cards, and they were mailed out this week.” Barnes church of Christ, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: John Bellah (member) reports, “On Sunday, Gary Henson finished preaching from the third booklet of Back to the Bible. Members seem to have enjoyed the study. For many, it had great reminders of what they already know. We have had several visitors from other congregations lately, with four placing membership in the past few weeks. There are a few visitors in the process of being lined up for studies, and even some of them are bringing visitors as well. We look forward to the continued growth of the Lord’s church in our corner of Oklahoma City.” Grove church of Christ, Oklahoma: Juan Jarmillo (preacher) reports, “This week was eventful. We were able to have our visiting meeting, and we gave our members a total of nine prospects to visit. We also added five more prospects to our compassion cards list. We appreciate prayers for the efforts of these visits, hoping that we can get more Bible study opportunities from them!” Guymon church of Christ, Oklahoma: Chandler Henderson (evangelist) reports, “This last week we continued our training on ‘Transition Visits’. We had two more baptisms last week, Brandon and his wife, Amber. We still have ongoing studies, and more visits are planned. Most of the evangelism efforts can be attributed to just a handful of members. Prayers for understanding, grace, and soft hearts, as we continue to grow and learn together.” Marietta church of Christ, Oklahoma (remote): Chase Green (preacher) reports, “Marietta, Oklahoma, is fired up and ready to go after our recent experience at AMC Roanoke! We door-knocked last Thursday and Friday in preparation for our currently ongoing Vacation Bible School. We had about 25 folks show up for door-knocking over the course of the two days, and we knocked 177 doors, talked to 98 people, and got 25 contacts in just a matter of a few hours. You should have heard the chatter from folks Thursday night who were talking about how effective our recently acquired door-knocking techniques worked! On Sunday morning, before VBS started, I had a class discussing the importance of not forgetting evangelism as the main goal of VBS. The class was well-received. We have had recurring visitors from the community on our first two nights of VBS, and we hope that studies will come from this. All hands are on deck, and we appear primed and ready for growth.” St. Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (preacher) reports, “Forty-eight compassion cards were written this week. Two transition visits were made to contacts who had previously received compassion cards. One person was baptized on Sunday, July 5, 2026.” White Knoll church of Christ, Lexington, South Carolina: James Reynolds (deacon) reports, “This past Sunday, we had a new brother baptized into Christ. James Elkin was added to the church of our Lord, and we rejoice with him. He read his Bible and, with a little study help from our elders, obeyed the truth. We appreciate all prayers, and we continue to pray that more souls would be added in the coming months.” Soddy church of Christ, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “We bring a week of blessings to report! First, we are excited to share the great news of Gospel obedience. Cherrity has been visiting our congregation since the middle of May. Sister Maria invited her to come to services, and we have been thankful for the opportunity to get to know Cherrity through conversations and having lunch with her over the past month. Fred and Maria have also been picking her up to bring her to a few of the Summer Series lessons hosted by the North Hamilton congregation nearby. Last Tuesday evening, Cherrity responded to the Gospel invitation that Brother Massey extended, ultimately desiring to be immersed in Christ for the remission of sins! We rejoice with Heaven above as she is now walking in the light alongside the church at Soddy. On Saturday, we hosted our community for the Soddy fireworks display by the city. Our parking lot has the best view and is a popular place for crowds to gather. We offered food and refreshments to our guests and invited them to our Vacation Bible School, which begins tonight and runs through Wednesday. We were able to greet and get to know many people and obtain their contact information, and we have already begun mailing cards this week. We are praying for these efforts to reach the souls in our community. We appreciate prayers to help us have many Bible studies and opportunities to minister to these dear families.” Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Daniel Burton (deacon) reports, “We have added six new people to our compassion card list. We are praying for them and taking time to send a card of encouragement. We are still trying to nail down a Bible study with a couple who indicated they would like to study. Please pray that the door stays open and that we can get a time set soon. So far, establishing team leaders for the card groups has been very positive. It seems to be helping it to flow better and keeping things more organized. Also, B.J. Clarke was passing through and taught a Bible class. Part of his class dealt with evangelism, and it was very encouraging and timely for the work we are doing.” Arlington church of Christ, Tennessee: Brandon Tibbits (preacher) reports, “Things have slowed down a bit recently; we are sending fewer cards, but we are going to start pushing for more contacts and try to add some Bible studies. On a great note, my oldest daughter was baptized on Saturday!” Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “We are sending compassion cards to 13 new families. Each of these had children who attended our VBS, and they listed no church affiliation on their registration form. Additionally, we are preparing for our annual church camp for our young people, which starts this coming Sunday. This is being coordinated between Hillcrest and two other congregations and will host over 60 campers. We are praying for growth from the seeds that are being planted.” White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “We had 21 visitors, and we are sending 112 cards out this week. Our VBS is coming up, and we will generate a ton of contacts from that. We need workers. We are going to attempt more transition visits this month so we can catch up.” Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “Our work continues to go very well. We had returning visitors yesterday to the services. We sent out our direct copies of House to House to about 100 contacts. Our members continue to work hard. We give God the glory.” Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “We have been working to reach the lost! We recently got back from our youth camp. We had young men (high school seniors) in the youth group conducting Bible studies. We had seven baptisms total among the middle and high school age. Some of those who obeyed the Gospel had been studying for some time, so we had several answered prayers. We will continue to walk with them in their new walk.” Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “I previously mentioned that we are utilizing the compassion cards for the VBS visitors. Additionally, two of our ladies sent a personal invitation to a young mother, which led her to attend one of our Connect Group meetings this week. She engaged in discussions and posed questions. We are hopeful that this will provide us with more opportunities to engage in deeper study with her.” Rivergate Church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “We had four visitors on Wednesday night. We had 13 visitors on Sunday morning and three on Sunday night. Seven of the visitors were taken to lunch by members. One transition visit was made last week.” Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (associate minister) reports, “Our year-to-date totals now stand at 24 new visitors, 567 cards sent, five visits made, 40 prospects, six active Bible studies, and 50 new movers baskets delivered. Our Fourth of July outreach had a great turnout and was a tremendous encouragement. We made several new contacts and believe there is potential for three additional Bible studies to begin as a result of the event. We are praying diligently that these opportunities will develop into fruitful studies and, ultimately, souls won for Christ.” Lake County church of Christ, Burnet, Texas: Alex Simmons (preacher) reports, “We currently have 10 prospects. The past week, the congregation wrote 145 cards, and those are being mailed out three times throughout the week. We have also signed up with HTHHTH, so we are looking forward to the new movers list.” Roanoke church of Christ, Texas: Cleatius Copeland (elder) reports, “We had 28 visitors yesterday morning; some were repeats from last week. Caleb had a great lesson regarding baptism. There was a lady who came yesterday whose friend gave her one of our fliers we passed out. She attends a denomination but liked the sermon and the friendliness of our congregation. She said she would be back next week. There is a family of six that Pam met during AMC door-knocking. They came to our fellowship on Friday and to worship yesterday. Five of us took them to lunch, and it was great. I believe they will be back. Elders and preachers are formulating plans on how to attack the big stack of contact cards. Everything but the HTH cards has been entered into a spreadsheet, allowing slicing and dicing of the data. We will be meeting with the deacons next Sunday afternoon to review plans and get them deeply involved. It is an exciting time for the Roanoke congregation.” Southwest church of Christ, Austin, Texas: Bryce Mayfield (evangelist), “This morning, I would like to report the baptism of Ben Grimm. Our new brother in Christ has been such an encouragement to all of us! After being given a Bible in prison, he knew that God was the answer to his difficult past. After being released from prison, he found himself in a “halfway home” here in South Austin. After visiting several denominations, he walked through our doors, and we never let him leave. Through compassion cards and relationship building, Ben agreed to study with my wife and me. After realizing we access the grace of God by contacting the blood of Christ through baptism, he made his life right immediately! Praise God for His saving power through the sacrifice of Jesus! It has been incredible to see the power God’s Word has to convict the hearts of men. Ben is going to help us get involved with the local prisons so we can reach others who were in a similar position as he was. Also, we have three other Bible studies ongoing with four lost souls. On top of this, we are in the process of setting up five prospective studies. We appreciate all the prayers we can get for these efforts. We offer them on behalf of y’all as well.” Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (evangelist) reports, “With the recent AMC at Roanoke, Aaron and I have decided to re-evaluate the program and make some changes. We understand that we are preachers and evangelists; however, we cannot do this work alone, along with the elders. So, starting this week, we have begun discussing the changes needed for it to be congregational and more effective. We will continue to emphasize the new converts, but we look forward to more training and opportunities for the members to be involved in the work of evangelism.” Bridge Avenue church of Christ, Weslaco, Texas: Braulio Carvajal (evangelist) reports, “In early 2025, Bridge Avenue was invited to conduct a Bible study at an apartment complex just south of our building. The Bible study was in Spanish. The group was made up of residents of the apartment complex. We met Elizabeth at the first Bible study. Araceli, our church secretary, built a relationship with her. Araceli and Elizabeth began the Back to the Bible study a little over a month ago, meeting once a week when possible. On occasion, Elizabeth’s mother would attend as well. Last Wednesday, Araceli, Elizabeth, and Elizabeth’s mother completed the final Bible study, and Elizabeth was baptized. Araceli was assisted by Hilda as a silent partner and Nanci, who assisted with Bible studies for Elizabeth’s kids. This last Sunday we had eight visitors, including a family who had not been to service in some years. We have had good attendance at our New Convert classes.” Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Rob McNicol (elder) reports, “We continue to study with five individuals along with seven in our New Convert’s class. We are working with some of our recently baptized young men to prepare devotionals and lead singing.” Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “Great news from Bridgewater! The group that went to Mexico came home safely on Saturday. While there, they were able to have four studies, and three souls were washed in the cleansing blood of Jesus and have begun their spiritual journey toward their eternal reward. After our morning service, Christopher met with Wade and Jim, and he was baptized into Christ. He has been attending our services for a while, and Wade’s lesson on baptism helped him to see his need. This brings the total to nine baptisms we have had this year. Our goal is ten. Wade and I have a study later this week with a family who has been attending. Some others are sharing the Word with their friends.” San Saba church of Christ, Texas: Justin Bell (preacher) reports, “Things are going good here in San Saba. We have added two new prospects who were visitors this past Sunday. We made one transition visit this past week and currently have three ongoing Bible studies. We will be knocking on three new movers’ doors this week. We continue to have many new convert studies, which are keeping us very busy.” Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “I preached on the urgency and importance of baptism yesterday and plan to ask some of our visitors this week what they thought of the lesson and what their baptisms were like. I pray it will lead to studies. We had our fourth weekly VBS, and it continues to bring in new children and their parents!” North Jefferson church of Christ, Mount Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (associate minister) reports, “This past week, we had 20 visiting children during the first night of our weekly summer VBS (15 of which are local children who do not attend a congregation elsewhere)! On Sunday night, I taught on the evangelism model, and Reach Team 1 met and wrote cards. I had lunch with Nathali (one of our prospects) and Austin (one of our members) this past week, and we plan to get together again. We hope we can start Lesson 1 of Back to the Bible. Our members are beginning to make some transition visits (which have historically been a struggle for our congregation), and I am thankful for the progress.” Stratford church of Christ, Texas: Chad Thies (preacher) reports, “This week we had four visitors. We also had one Bible study. We had two baptisms.” Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Kodie Martin (evangelist) reports, “VBS was a success. We made five new prospects, with 14 total families who visited who do not have a church home. Our next plan is to visit these families in the next few weeks and give them a specialized flyer that has pictures from the event as well as information concerning our congregation. We also hope to have good conversations with them to begin prospecting. In other areas, transition visits are going well, but no planned studies have been made as of yet. We will re-examine our options and focus on how we can cross the finish line in those areas.” West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “Last week, one of our young men was added to the Lord’s church in baptism! Our youth are tender-hearted and serious about their desire to serve God. Yesterday, our morning lesson and evening discussions centered around having patience with one another, using Proverbs as our core passages. People who are easy to love show G.R.A.C.E. to others: Give grace, Restore calm, Act with self-control, Cover offenses, and Endure patiently. Adding this to our fruit of the Spirit increases our positive influence in every relationship. As we demonstrate this to others in our community, it is bound to open opportunities to share the loving, healing message of the Gospel.” Williamsburg church of Christ: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “Our week was very slow, and we discussed in the elders meeting some of the things that are going well and some of the areas that need more focus and attention. Our first important act was to pray for the opportunity to identify additional contacts. We plan to continue providing bag lunches to children in the nearby apartment complex and identify other ways to introduce the church to the community.” NOTE: These reports are from Christians and congregations enrolled in the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. These emails are sent to teach and provoke one another to remain focused on the mission of Christ. Each week, we share several reports and highlight one with more details.
