Cards Make a Difference
Written By Mark Weston (elder)

Lots of joy this week! We have a new brother in Christ. Kasen Harris has been studying with Brock for at least two months. He has been diligent in his studies and committed to learning as much as he can. On Wednesday, he called Brock and told him that he woke up with Acts 2:38 on his mind, and then he told Brock it was time to do this! What a wonderful day it was. His family all came (none of them are members or even attend anywhere) and witnessed his birth into Christ. What an opportunity we have before us.  Kasen said he thought his mother might be receptive to a study.

We are still doing visits, welcoming our new neighbors, sharing gift baskets, and sending compassion cards. It is still amazing to me how much just handling the small things can do for the morale of a congregation!  We truly are blessed.  Group one met last night and prepared another 85 cards to be mailed this week.

When Tunene and I were eating lunch yesterday at a restaurant in Jonesboro, a lady came over to our table and thanked us for all the cards she had been receiving after her sister’s death. We visited, and I just told her to enjoy the love that we were sharing with her. She said they have really meant a lot to her. We get comments like those from many of our card recipients. The cards do make a difference!  God is GOOD!”

Congregational Reports

Glencoe church of Christ, Alabama: Keith Ritchie (evangelist) reports, “The Glencoe church of Christ continues to sow further, work harder, and grow closer. Today we had an outreach effort; at least one contact was made, and we planned further work. We invited the Glencoe City employees to a luncheon. We then began making contacts. Wednesday night, we expect to share Lesson 3 with a man who has been attending. Please pray for the work here at Glencoe and for the upcoming mission trip to Jamaica. Several members of Glencoe will be going on this trip. To God be the glory!”

Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “This past week provided several encouraging opportunities to connect with visitors in our area for Mother’s Day, as well as with some of the first vacationers arriving for the summer season. With the nearby lakes, campgrounds, and fishing opportunities drawing many travelers each year, the summer months regularly bring new faces through our community and into our assemblies. Whether people were visiting family for Mother’s Day or enjoying the beauty of the Ozarks, we are thankful for every opportunity to build relationships and share the love of Christ. One especially encouraging contact was a couple, Jeff and Robin, who are spending the summer locally in their RV. We have plans to meet them for lunch next week and look forward to continuing that relationship. In our preaching efforts, we are preparing to revisit the subject of evangelism as we encourage the congregation to begin inviting friends, neighbors, and coworkers to our upcoming VBS next month. Our goal is to emphasize that evangelism is not simply an occasional activity, but part of the identity and daily life of a Christian. That spirit of outreach was evident this week as 16 members stayed after services to help write 57 compassion cards to our current contacts list. We are grateful for the congregation’s servant-hearted attitude and are excited about the opportunities God may place before us in the weeks ahead as VBS approaches.”

Petersville church of Christ, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “The Petersville church of Christ sent 18 compassion cards last week. We also finally had the joy of baptizing Lia into Christ for the remission of her sins on Thursday! We have been studying with her for several months, and after her husband was baptized last month, she has been digging into our studies to be sure she was ready. The best part was that William did the honors of immersing her! It was quite a moment.”

Central church of Christ, Saraland, Alabama: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “Mother’s Day had many of our regular members away visiting, but we also had a few members whom we do not see regularly. We want to encourage them all over again. We have VBS coming up in a couple of weeks, and we are expecting a good turnout. Hopefully, there will be some visitors from the community from whom we can get contact information. Our elders are leading the charge in evangelism, and I do not see that slowing down any time soon. God bless all who are diligently spreading the Gospel!”

Hatton church of Christ, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “Our most exciting thing going on currently is that we continue to have new visitors, and they are being invited by people on our list right now for studies. I have heard members lately discussing the best way to set up new studies with a number of these people. The youth are also extremely active in setting up studies right now. We are praying for more great results.”

Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Josh Halloway (preacher) reports, “We are continuing to work several of our evangelism programs. We conducted six Bible studies this week. This week, we will be sending out 55 cards. That brings the total in May to 127 and the grand total to 5130.”

Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We are getting a consistent number of contacts and visitors. A couple from the community has begun helping us with Meals on Wheels. They were added to our list and have been receiving cards. This is a great opportunity for us to reach them. We have a lot of great summer activities that can be used as outreach opportunities.”

Northside church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Larry Keener (elder) reports, “Northside in Harrison celebrated Mother’s Day with Steve Powers giving a sermon on inviting people to come and see based on Nathaniel and Philip’s call. On Sunday night, David Glenn taught on contact cards and handed out our invitation cards for each member to pass out. We appreciate prayers for God’s glory as we seek the lost.”

Bergman church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Vince Stewart (preacher) reports, “This week we sent out ten cards to Patricia and have just a few left to mail this week. Yesterday, I began the class of teaching the whole curriculum for those who had not attended the seminar, and it will be like a review for those of us who were there. I did the first half of the class using the Evangelism Simplified guidebook and went through the three principles of soul winning, and for the application part of it, the other half of the class was the first 23 minutes of the video ‘Let’s Get Motivated’ that is on the thumb drive, (the story of Jackie and Shelia Birdwell). It all went really well.”

Concord Street church of Christ, Orlando, Florida: Ron Benvegna (elder) reports, “I visited Stuart on Sunday and spoke with Tom, the elder in charge. They have had ten baptisms. We ordered the mugs, pens, and covers for the evangelism table this week. Billy is such a blessing and is highly motivated. He got the board hung, the table set up and organized in the front of the auditorium. I turned the checklist into a detailed waterfall schedule.”

Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “In our effort to maintain (and increase) our evangelism ministry, we held a meeting this past week with our coordinators and active members. This preacher was thankful to see that there is still enthusiasm for soul-winning, as we had a good number attend the meeting, along with some new volunteers. There were also several good suggestions made that will help us recruit even more people to support the ministry. Our primary objective now is to conduct more transition visits more efficiently and increase the number of Bible studies. Our total 2026 Accountability Board numbers are: 123 Contacts Received; 87 Neighbors (Prospects); 481 Compassion Cards Sent; 15 Bible Studies; one Restoration, and six Baptisms.”

Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “This week, Niceville sent out 48 cards. We had two studies and had several new and returning visitors at worship for Mother’s Day. We also had family members join us, which provided extra opportunities. A single father placed membership; he has two children. We have another retired family visiting. The wife noted how nice it is to get cards. Remember that the cards are great to send to prospective visitors who are already Christians. We gave out roses to the mothers and the elders led a prayer for mothers. It was a great day.”

Avalon church of Christ, Florida: Preston Silcox (elder) reports, “Avalon had another good week with two in-home Bible studies. One was with a new convert and the other with a non-Christian family. We also visited a contact passed on to us by the Milestone congregation. We gave them a packet with details about the Avalon congregation and materials about the Lord’s church. We wrote cards to the family on Sunday and plan to follow up with another visit and offer them a Bible study. Sunday was also encouraging. One of our new visitors brought a friend with her. We are planning follow-up visits, and hopefully Bible studies with them both.”

Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Tom Neth (deacon) reports, “This week there was not a great deal of new activity, but we continue to work the process consistently and trust that steady effort will bear fruit over time. We wrote another 100 compassion cards this week, maintaining our commitment to regular outreach and encouragement. We were also blessed to have eight new visitors attend our worship services. At present, we have three ongoing Bible studies, and year-to-date we have seen ten baptisms. We are grateful for the opportunities God has provided and for the continued interest in studying His Word. Our New Convert’s class is going well, and we are working diligently to encourage our new Christians to become fully involved in Bible classes, worship, and the life of the congregation. We remain thankful for the unity and participation we are seeing as more members become engaged in the work.”

Milestone church of Christ, Cantonment, Florida: Randy Brantley (elder) reports, “We had a visitor whose late husband was a member of the church; she seems very promising. We made five visits; one lives in the next county, which is too far for her to travel, so we passed information to the Avalon church; she lives around the corner from them. Preston has already visited, and she looks like a good prospect. We pray he can convert her. We prepared 54 compassion cards for mailing this week.”

Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “Last week we had a Gospel Meeting. Thanks to congregational efforts, we had a few visitors from the community. A Bible study was set up. We have mailed 60 compassion cards for the month. This week, we have several Bible study visits to make.”

Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “Woodstock church of Christ (WCOC) and the Sunabella Assistant Living Facility devotional had approximately six non-Christians at the devotional on Sunday. The HTH Door Knocking Campaign knocked on 31 doors and made seven contacts. Two of WCOC’s members attended DeKalb Regional Youth Detention Center’s (RYDC) devotional and Mother’s Day Celebration. The Compassion Group sent out 12 cards this week. We had seven visitors this past Sunday. WCOC had ten total prospects studying the Bible with different teachers.”

Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “We had another great week with good numbers, although we have several out. We sent 32 cards and made three visits. We have eight prospects.”

Honolulu church of Christ, Hawaii: Tagiilima Esene (preacher) reports, “Aloha from the Honolulu congregation. We currently have Bible studies with six souls. Several of our visitors are currently being prospected. We are preparing for our Spring Giveaway this month. This usually generates a lot of traffic to our location from our local communities. We plan to connect and create contacts during this time. Another Bible study was scheduled this week after a meal invitation. We request prayers for our efforts.  Sister Susan does the soul-winning work by providing meals for prospecting. She and her husband Rod have been serving the church for many years. Blake is leaving his Baptist faith to seek the truth. We will be studying soon.”

Judah church of Christ, Bloomington, Indiana: Joe Moon (preacher) reports, “We had one Bible study this past week. My wife has been studying with her friend using Does It Matter. They are about halfway through the booklet. We look forward to continuing the study soon.”

Highland Village church of Christ, Bloomington, Indiana: Mark Stauffer (evangelist) reports, “Highland Village church of Christ has sent 17 cards so far in May. We have two prospects. One has been receiving compassion cards for two weeks. The other has completed Back to the Bible and acknowledges her need to be baptized, but she is confined to a wheelchair, and we need her caregivers to assist with her immersion. We are meeting with them on Friday and hope to complete the arrangements then. We are also continuing to train the congregation. Recently, we have studied the power of having grace and mercy in our hearts toward the lost, particularly toward those we personally meet.”

Harrisburg church of Christ, Illinois (remote): Doug Berry (preacher) reports, “We continue to have contacts come in from our members, so we are trying to reach out to them. We also have a food pantry that brings people in need; we care for them and send compassion cards. This week, we are delivering our welcome packets to new movers. The enthusiasm and support of the congregation remain strong. We have two ongoing Bible studies, and we are encouraged about them. We are thankful for this approach to evangelism!”

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “We mailed 100 compassion cards this week. We had several visitors. We made ten New Mover visits and delivered four. We conducted three studies, including one of our teenagers who studied with his neighbor. During SOS (Servants of Souls), we packed 30 baskets for the upcoming New Movers. This week will be our Evangelism Refresh with Keno Shrum.”

15th street church of Christ, Ottawa, Kansas (remote): Brady Altic (associate minister) reports, “We are starting to get contacts handing out the bookmarks. We will start compassion cards this upcoming week. Study 2 with Jessy went well, and I am looking forward to Study 3 with him this week. Prayers are appreciated and needed for studies in progress, and for our congregation to stay steadfast in this work for the Lord.”

Beloit church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dustin Dougherty (regional trainer) reports, “We finished our New Testament read through on Sunday. Eight or ten finished the complete reading with me. For several of them, it was their first time to read the New Testament all the way through. I have certificates of achievement to send to those who completed the reading. It is great to hear of the increase in knowledge, understanding, and comfort that came from reading God’s word daily. We are happy to have been able to play a small part; to God be the glory.”

Pittsburg church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dan Eckerly (preacher) reports, “This is our first report. Although we had a slow start to the HTH program, we are beginning to gain some traction. Critical roles have been assigned to a core group of members. Enthusiasm and buy-in seem to be growing in the general congregation. This week, members were assigned to one of three card-writing teams. We have developed a strategy to make our card-writing sessions more organized and effective. Our new convert’s class is going strong with eight students. There are currently three Bible studies ongoing: Arlene is an 88-year-old who understands salvation but still needs to submit to baptism. We have had several Bible studies with Melanie, but she is considering discontinuing. One of our deacons has been studying with Bruce and his wife. We had five visitors; we continue to be blessed with visitors on a weekly basis. We have about 30 prospects and plan to send them compassion cards this week.”

Columbus church of Christ, Kansas: Matt Fowler (member) reports, “We had a small crowd in attendance Sunday with many members traveling, including my family. Two of our new converts graduated from high school this week, and I was able to contact a local congregation where one is attending college to make a connection for him.  Pray for all of our converts to remain faithful. We began a Bible Study with one of my assistant track coaches and his fiancée. We began Believe the Bible Lesson B on the inspiration of the scriptures, as they had some questions about the Bible’s accuracy. Things went very well. We are looking to continue the study next week.”

Spring Creek church of Christ, Hickory, Kentucky: David Morse (elder) reports, “Greetings from the congregation at Spring Creek. We have spent this week encouraging our congregation to get involved in our evangelism efforts. Our compassion card list has dwindled. We are doing everything we can to encourage people to share the names of local friends and family who might like to discuss the Bible and church. On Sunday morning, Samuel took 1 Timothy 2:3-4, ‘For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth,’ and presented a lesson on the love that mothers have for their children. By the time the lesson was complete, he had presented a lesson on the love we should have for our family and neighbors (as a mother has for her children) and the desire for them to be saved. The congregation was encouraged to fill out contact cards for friends and family that we could send cards to in an effort to prepare the soil for a conversation. On Sunday night, Samual presented a lesson on ‘Fishing for Men.’ A commercial fisherman requires the appropriate equipment. As ‘fishers of men,’ we must have the right tools. Those tools are on our evangelism table in the main foyer as we come and go into the building. Our ‘blue group’ wrote compassion cards this week. Our leadership group continues to meet each Wednesday. Our numbers for the week include:  Visitors – 20, Prospects – 16, Cards – 2,275, Bible studies – three, Baptisms – five, Baptism Goal – seven.”

Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (preacher) reports, “We were thrilled Wednesday night to baptize Matthew Myers into Jesus Christ. Matthew, unbeknownst to most of us, had been studying in our local jail ministry with one of our men, and, upon hearing about baptism, he knew that it was what he needed to do. He continued to study after his release and came to Bible class last Wednesday night seeking out Garry, with whom he had been studying, to ask to be baptized. We are grateful he made this decision, and we enjoyed seeing him at worship on Sunday. He also immediately got involved in our New Convert’s class, so we hope this helps him (and the others) to be more grounded. That is five baptisms so far this year, and while that is behind the ‘pace’ we might want, each one is precious, and God is still giving the increase, so we are grateful.”

Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: Ben Vallery (deacon) reports, “Our metrics are as follows: Visitors: eight, Visits Made: four, Cards signed: Wk. – 27 / Mo – 52, Prospects/Neighbors: nine, Bible studies: one, and Baptisms: three, 2026. Our annual goal is 20. Our New Convert classes continue on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.”

Waldorf church of Christ, Maryland: Joseph Day (member) reports, “For May 10, we had nine visitors, we prepared 56 compassion cards for mailing during the week ahead, and we may have two Bible studies resume after a scheduling pause. We are preparing to begin with new movers.”

La Plata church of Christ, Maryland: Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “All is going well here in La Plata. We had four visitors on Sunday. We wrote 70 compassion cards last week. We currently have ten active prospects receiving compassion cards. With Brother Tim Neel as our new visitation coordinator, we are having our first-ever ‘Mission Monday’ training session this Sunday after worship service. We currently have 12 new members on the transition visitation team and ten prospects to visit. Brother Dave Bradshaw is our new coordinator for visitors, and we have six families training as pew greeters with brother Dave and me as honorary ‘door greeters’ for the time being. We are all super excited. We have brother and sister Gary Evans as our new compassion card coordinators. They have redesigned the compassion card writing process to mirror how it was done during AMC . . . Brilliant! The saints love it! We will be assigning additional area coordinators soon. This weekend, we are taking our ‘Young Davids’ and our ‘Proverb 31 Girls’ out to do yard work and house cleaning for one of our seniors. We currently have five active Bible studies using Back to the Bible, two of which will be entering Lesson 3. We have one ongoing study using Believe the Bible. We pray that it will lead to a Bible study. We appreciate prayers as we diligently strive to ‘Train the Saved to Teach the Lost’ in our community!”

Oak Grove church of Christ, Missouri: David Wiseman (elder) reports, “Our week was somewhat quieter. We are getting geared up for VBS, and we are praying that we have success in meeting new possibilities. This last week we had five visitors. Three were past members, and two were from our local community. We mailed out 13 new mover contacts and six compassion cards.”

Plainview church of Christ, Fulton, Mississippi: Tom House (preacher) reports, “We had several visitors yesterday. There will be follow-ups on them. Compassion cards started going out last week. We sent 28 last week and 34 this week. We hope to continue the Bible study I have going on this week.”

Fulton church of Christ, Mississippi: Richard Comer (deacon) reports, “We have one prospect right now.  We are working to improve. We have prepared 20 compassion cards. We do have one Bible study commitment.  We appreciate all prayers.”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “We had a great Mother’s Day with many visitors. We had about six visitors, but most of them were extended family from out of town. Two visitors were from the area and were interested in coming back to see us again, so I spoke with them for a few minutes and got their information. We have our card writing on Sunday coming up next week and our senior breakfast next Sunday as well, which usually brings in several new visitors. The door knockers went out this past weekend and knocked on five doors from the New Movers’ list. This past Sunday, we also gave our new converts some new Bibles from the church with their name engraved on them. We also gave them a new book called ‘Ready Reference for Growing Christians.’ This book is published by Sain Publications and has been around for a long time. I have found that it is a good book for new converts.”

Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Terry Hale (evangelist) reports, “We had a new study with a very intelligent young man on Friday; he completed Book 1 of Back to the Bible. He went through the book with hardly any problems. He only had a question about understanding one verse, and he seems to want to be right with God. He has scheduled another time this week to continue in Book 2. Added to studying was getting to work with a helper for the first time, who did a good job. Our congregation shows excited interest in learning, with training sessions discussed and opportunities for more members to attend around their schedules. Finally, we hope to set up new convert classes, as this small congregation has developed members who have been trained to teach. So we have the teachers available to have multiple classes. To God be the glory.”

East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “We had five visitors last week. Our metrics thus far through and for April 2026 are two baptisms, 16 visitors, ten Bible studies, and one in our New Convert’s class. We appreciate all prayers.”

Oak Forest church of Christ, Goldsboro, North Carolina: Dennis May (elder) reports, “This past two Sundays, we had a total of three visitors. One of the visitors was a friend of the young lady who was just baptized last Sunday. She told us in the new Convert’s class that she feels that this is a wonderful place to worship. During this same period, the congregation sent 149 compassion cards. For the past two Sunday evenings, one of our elders has been teaching the congregation how to use the booklet Does It Matter effectively. He has done a great job.”

Glendale Street church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina (remote): Dayle Taylor (preacher) reports, “On Sunday, the total attendance more than doubled our official membership, with 45 individuals present. Among the visitors were ten family members of a newly converted couple and a restored member; five of these were returning visitors. Additional visitors included three erring members, one of whom expressed a desire to be restored to the fold. Our pew greeter successfully collected contact information from first-time visitors and erring members. Bible studies continue through Believe the Bible with prospects Chandon and Eloise, who completed their third study. In addition, Bobby Ballard completed his fourth study in Does It Matter? We appreciate continued prayers weekly. New converts were in attendance, with the exception of one who was absent due to a child’s illness. Prayers for each were requested.”

New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) report, “Visitors are getting a gift on the Sunday they visit, and I do everything I can to follow up with a personal visit. Several of us sent a letter/card to our visitors thanking them for coming. Linda Fleming continues to study with a lady who has been attending for the past several months; however, she completed booklet three last week, and the woman still believes she is already saved (denominational lady). We sent out 20-30 cards to two individuals. I met one of the people who received our cards and had dinner with one—one of our members are neighbors of the two people. (They had them over for dinner one night and invited my wife and I). I plan to visit with them this afternoon. They, too, are denominational, but are currently not attending anywhere. Like many others we have worked with, the husband has had numerous affiliations with various denominations. Most of the folks we have worked with recently have multiple religious backgrounds. It is so hard working with and trying to teach people who have been ‘saved’ in three, four, or even five different kinds/flavors of religions, but the Gospel is the power of God to save.”

Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “We had five visitors and one contact card. We sent only 17 compassion cards, but we will improve. Two Bible studies are ongoing, and a family of four placed membership. We are working to obtain contact cards. We know this is the lifeblood of the program. We hope to have a better week this upcoming week.”

Barnes church of Christ, Oklahoma: John Bellah (deacon) reports, “On Sunday morning, Gary Henson began preaching the Back to the Bible series. We prayed for our contacts and made a request for more individuals to begin prospecting. We had one contact card turned in to begin sending cards to a young lady who had visited a few times before we began the School of Evangelism. A few members have still been keeping in touch with her, but we would like to make a greater push from the congregation as a whole. We have finished selecting coordinators for the most part, with only a few areas that will be filled in later as we progress.”

Grove church of Christ, Oklahoma: Juan Jarmillo (preacher) reports, “This week at Grove, we expect to get things done. Before then, we set up the compassion cards’ table for those who were not able to write anything last week. This was a great way to involve members. We also finished all three booklets of Believe the Bible. However, the highlight of this upcoming week is the transition visits we will be making on Thursday, Lord willing. We hope to get four to six Bible studies from these visits we will make. We appreciate all prayers, and may more souls be saved!”

Guymon church of Christ, Oklahoma: Chandler Henderson (preacher) reports, “This last week, we sent out 28 compassion cards. Half of them went to a repeat visitor, and the other half to a prospect who had an accident with a horse a couple of weeks ago. We had six visitors on Sunday morning. We have nine contacts, seven prospects, four in-person Bible studies, three virtual Bible studies, and two visits. We also have one person in the New Convert’s class on Sunday morning going through ‘Growing in Christ,’ a men’s Bible study on Monday nights, and a women’s Bible study on Thursday nights. One of our studies had to be rescheduled, but we will hopefully be going through Book 3 of BTTB this Thursday evening.”

York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “This Sunday in York, there were no visitors. The attendance was slightly lower than in recent weeks, due to people going out of town. We did not have any contacts to send cards to this week. Fred delivered a solid message, as usual. We continue to pray and work it!”

St. Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (preacher) reports, “In this past Sunday’s sermons, we concluded Book 3 of Back to the Bible. We wrote 39 compassion cards. We made two transition visits, but we were not able to make contact with the prospects. Two phone calls were made to initiate contact with two prospects, and the individuals were very thankful for receiving many compassion cards. We plan to follow up with them. Also, another prospect we have been working with wants to schedule a Bible study for next week, after having to cancel earlier due to sickness. We continue to have one in our New Convert’s class.”

White Knoll church of Christ, Red Bank, South Carolina:  James Reynolds (evangelist) reports, “We are in the process of setting things up and learning how to use the website. We have a lot of positive energy. We are getting organized and ready to begin.”

Southern Hills church of Christ, Franklin, Tennessee: Fredrick Klein (preacher) reports, “We are thankful for all the good things happening right now! One of our members invited his friend from school, and the entire family has now attended for two weeks in a row. We are excited to dive back into our evangelism program this fall and pray our members will be fully engaged and ready to serve. We also recently had an informational meeting with another congregation, as we plan to begin a Trail Life troop to reach and connect with more young families in our community. There is a lot going on, and we are grateful to God for every opportunity He gives us to plant and water the seed. We appreciate prayers for open doors, willing hearts, and growth for the Kingdom!”

Soddy church of Christ, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “We at Soddy appreciate all the prayers that are lifted up to our Father on our behalf! Likewise, many are thanking the Father for the weekly training and encouragement we receive from the School of Evangelism. This week, we plan to reach out to many who have visited us by continuing to build our relationships. Care Team 2 will send out more than 20 compassion cards. We are close to Bible studies with many. We praise God for a new sister in Christ who was baptized last week, who considered the condition of her own soul, stating, ‘I realized that I needed to be baptized for the remission of sins, seeing that I was baptized many years ago in the Methodist church at an early age.’ We rejoice with her and with Heaven in the best decision she can ever make!”

Fayetteville church of Christ, Tennessee: Steve Jefferson (elder) reports, “We have had two restorations and one baptism. We are reorganizing some of our teams. We continue to seek additional membership involvement.”

Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Josh Kennedy (preacher) reports, “There were ten cards sent out this week. We have one study set up, we had multiple visitors, and we even have interest from an atheist whom we hope to lead to a study!”

Birdwell’s Chapel church of Christ, Cottontown, Tennessee: Kerry England (elder) reports, “The class on first principles is going well. It has been well attended with a good mix of mature Christians and new Christians. It has been generating some excellent discussion! We had several visitors due to Mother’s Day. Compassion Card Team 2 met and sent cards. We are continuing to develop relationships with two individuals through benevolence.”

White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “We wrote 232 cards to send out this week. We had 20-plus visitors for Mother’s Day. We have not gotten the final count of contact cards from it yet. We are working on finding time this month to do more transition visits. We appreciate prayers for workers who will be coachable.”

Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “We will be mailing out an additional 40 copies of House to House for our direct mailing. We will have a total of 140 names for our list, and it continues to grow. Our next direct mailing will be in July. We also added three new names to our compassion card list for this week. We also helped a family from our food pantry and have invited them to services. We hope to tie benevolent work directly to evangelism. Our Gospel Meeting with Brother Robby Eversole will begin this Friday night through Sunday. We have mailed out over 1,200 invitations using our flyers and House to House. We continue to reach out to the many to find the few. May God continue to bless us all and to Him be the glory.”

West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “We had a few visitors this past Sunday, with it of course being Mother’s Day. We were excited because a man who was baptized just a few weeks ago brought his mom, and she was very excited to be there. Hopefully, she will be a good candidate for a Bible study soon!”

Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “We continue to have good visitor attendance. Just recently, we met a family from the Pentecostal faith. They were questioning some of the things they had been taught. They have attended for a couple of weeks and recently agreed to a Bible study. We pray for them and for the other studies that we have ongoing. God is good.”

East Main Church of Christ, Murfreesboro, Tennessee: Brad Rowley (elder) reports, “We rejoice in the baptism of Suzy Monge by Silas King. Suzy has been studying with Jeffrey Smith. We rejoice in the baptism of Karli Bowen, who has been studying with Cole Walker. Both young ladies are members of our college ministry. We are thankful for Jeffrey, who serves as our college minister. We rejoice in the baptism of Ashlynn Michell by Jon Mitchell. We rejoice in the baptism of Adelaide Massey by Chad Massey. We rejoice in the baptism of Tatum Beagley by Tim Hayes. Ashlynn, Adelaide, and Tatum are the products of being raised in Christian homes. They attend worship and Bible classes and take advantage of our family and youth ministry. We are thankful for Elijah, who serves as our family and youth minister. The Prison Ministry has been off and running over the last few months, with an average of ten to 12 in attendance, and seven+ are repeat attendees. They have requested studies on the history of the Bible and the Old Testament. The evangelism team has been covering this for the last few weeks, and the studies have been very productive. During the month of April, our Compassion Card teams wrote 79 cards. We continually receive comments about how thankful people are to receive these cards. We had four new contact cards during the month. We had six new Bible studies, with a total of 53 ongoing study sessions. We delivered ten new mover baskets. We have an interesting story about a new Bible study we started with a man last week. He worked with one of the college students and noticed he was ‘different’ from most of the folks he worked with. He spoke very well of the college student. He then started looking at our website and noticed we had a Gospel Meeting in progress. He listened online for two lessons that week. He contacted me through the website. I met with him and started a Bible study. He said, ‘Once I met one of your college students and listened to a couple of lessons, I knew I wanted to be a part of this biblical church!’ We can never underestimate the influence we have on the people we are around! To God be the glory!”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “We are delighted to welcome a new brother in Christ to the congregation. This individual, whom I have referenced over the past eight to nine weeks, serves as a testament to the transformative power of Christ’s Gospel. Additionally, his story exemplifies the active involvement of each member of the congregation in the evangelism process. Gary Massey, Elder and Minister, initiated the Back to the Bible lessons with Jamie. Before they delved into the study of baptism, he came forward on Wednesday evening to be put into Christ in baptism. Since Jamie entered the doors, he has actively participated in our Bible classes on Sundays and Wednesdays, studying the Word of God and listening to sermons that present the full truth of the message. For the year 2026, this brings the total number of baptisms and restorations within our congregation to six, with a goal of twelve. May God continue to provide us with ample opportunities to extend the Gospel message to a wider audience and glorify His name.”

Rivergate Church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “We had two visitors on Wednesday night. We had 15 visitors on Sunday morning (Mother’s Day) and four on Sunday night. We had a baptism on Sunday morning. The man’s mother has been a longtime member of our congregation. The man had just never obeyed the Gospel.”

Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (associate minister) reports, “The numbers continue to trend upward, and we are thankful for the opportunities that are developing. So far this year, we have sent out 471 cards, had 19 new visitors, and made five home visits. We currently have 34 prospects and now have two active Bible studies underway. The New Movers program also remains steady, with 45 baskets delivered to date this year. We are encouraged to see continued interest and growing connections through these efforts. We appreciate continued encouragement and oversight as we keep pressing forward in the work.”

Dover church of Christ, Tennessee: Cody Brown (preacher) reports, “Our Gospel Meeting was a huge success! We had five visitors throughout the week and plan to follow up with them this week. Yesterday morning, we distributed the post-seminar survey to our members to begin implementing other elements of the model. I began the sermon series on John 4 and taught the importance of the contact bookmark. We have also established a coordinator for our compassion cards, so we will begin sending cards soon! We continue to ask for prayers as we move forward in our evangelism. Contacts-800, Visitors-five, Prospects-six, Bible Studies-three, Baptisms-one, and Baptism Goal-eight.”

Centerville Road church of Christ, Garland, Texas: Alan Stevens (elder) reports, “Last week we sent 59 cards to seven prospects. We were pleased to have one of those families visit services again yesterday, and we pray continually for open hearts. Each week, additional contacts are being brought forward by the congregation, and we are thankful for the hearts that are concerned about the souls they meet.  Two transition visits were made during the week, and contact was made with at least four new movers.”

Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Mel Hutzler (preacher) reports, “We have been extremely blessed to see more of our college and high school-aged brothers and sisters sharing the Gospel, leading to baptism.  This week, we will be wrapping up our year-long evangelism training with our resident missionary as his family transitions to full-time preaching work.  Nevertheless, the need for the Gospel has not changed, and our follow-up board is full.  We will continue to train for evangelism and plant the seed of the Good News.  We have 17 contacts to seek and ask questions of. We continue to have steady visitors. We are in seven Bible studies and 11 new-convert studies, and we rejoice to announce that Evan Cardey was baptized into Christ.”

Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “This week I would like to share information about a study that took place last week with a young man named Eli. A little background on him is needed. He is the adopted son of a denominational pastor, just down the road from our building. He has a love and zeal for God, and he plans to leave in three weeks to go to Georgia to do his own ministry work as a ‘pastor.’ Therefore, knowing these things, Aaron was able to get a study with him by asking him, “Would you like to know what ministry is all about according to God’s word?” They studied all three booklets with Aaron Lloyd last week. Once he knew that he was not saved and the change of life trajectory it would mean for him, he could not wrap his head around it. We sat in mostly in silence for about an hour, but every so often I’d ask him, ‘A penny for his thoughts.’ He first had objections to instrumental music, which we answered. He then had a hard time wrapping his mind around all of those sincere people being lost, and we then answered that. Finally, he came to the conclusion, ‘I can’t. I can’t commit that much and give up that much. I know that I’m not saved, and I know these are earthly things, but I can’t give it up.’ We prayed. He cried, knowing the God he was turning away from, but the truth is in his hands and heart. He needs prayers. We hope many will please move him to the top of their prayer lists, and pray often today for his heart. He can still come to Christ. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

Southwest church of Christ, Austin, Texas: Bryce Mayfield (evangelist) reports, “I know my updates have been quiet as of late, but evangelism continues to grow here at Southwest. As the season of ‘yard work’ approaches, we have assembled a team that will be offering free yard services in order to build relationships and make contacts with people in our local community. We will begin this Saturday. Also, our high school kiddos are reorganizing our evangelism room to make it easier and more efficient to write cards, deliver new-mover baskets, and hand out visitor welcome bags. It has been great to see our young people get involved in this work. Amongst these things, we have three Bible studies ongoing. We also have two hot prospects that we hope will begin Bible studies this week.”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “It is exciting to see people who are interested in learning about the Bible. It is also exciting when they are concerned about others. Ethan, who was recently baptized, had a friend from Arizona visiting with him, and she came to the Bible study we were having with him. Cecilia studied with Wade, and I studied with her, and she put her Lord on in baptism. She has gone back to Arizona, but we got a contact from Rob who can help her worship. This is six baptisms for the year.”

Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “We had our annual Senior supper for graduating seniors at the high school. All 31 showed up and received an Apologetics Press Bible. We pray they read, so the seed grows. We have had two women start regularly attending after our Loss Workshop, and our aim is to study with them individually as soon as we can.”

Stratford church of Christ, Texas: Chad Thies (preacher) reports, “We sent eight compassion cards and made three visits. We had two Bible studies. We had one baptism. We started BTTB three weeks ago with this precious soul. He is doing great and asking a bunch of questions. He is in New Convert classes on Sunday morning and Wednesday night. He has a wonderful heart that is wide open for learning what God’s will is for his life, and he is only concerned about biblical answers to his questions. We had two New Convert classes on Sunday morning and one on Wednesday night. Our first Bible study from the New Movers program is scheduled for this Tuesday, after 14 cards had been sent, four visits were made, a transition visit, and then a follow-up transition visit. We have two other exciting doors that the Lord has opened, and we are striving to stay focused on souls!”

Bridge Avenue church of Christ, Weslaco, Texas: Braulio Carvajal III (preacher) reports, “This Sunday Alfredo ‘Freddy’ Garza was baptized. He was invited to services about three months ago by one of our young brothers. Initially, Freddy only attended services when our young member was not working and able to attend services.  But about three weeks ago, Freddy showed up at the Wednesday Young Adult Bible Study on his own (our young member was not in attendance). He then attended worship service on Sunday morning on his own. We had him fill out a contact card. A couple of members reached out to him to see if he wanted to know more about the church or wanted to have a Bible study. He said yes to both. Two weeks ago, our preacher completed Does It Matter with Freddy. Last week, a second Bible study was completed. On Sunday morning, Freddy responded and was baptized. Please pray for our new brother. We have continued with three New Converts’ Bible classes on Wednesdays and Sundays. In addition, we have four ongoing Bible studies. We had one visitor in attendance on Sunday morning, along with about eight members of Freddy’s family. One prospect was in attendance on Wednesday evening. We continue to be blessed.”

San Saba church of Christ, Texas: Justin Bell (preacher) reports, “We made three transition visits in the last week. Only one resulted in a Bible study, but we are very hopeful still. We are going to start conducting follow-ups with past flood victims so we can add more prospects to the prospect list. Our new converts continue to thrive and should have more Bible studies from their contacts.”

North Jefferson church of Christ, Mt. Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (evangelist) reports, “Studies are still ongoing with Gaby and Estaban. Estaban and I start Book 3 tomorrow. We took two visitors out to eat on Sunday, and they said they would like to do a Bible study after they get home from vacation and make it through a busy month in their lives. I am scheduled to have a Bible study with two Mormon missionaries on Thursday and with Andrew on Sunday. On Sunday, we will be having our first transition visits meeting. We are excited to do better about following up with our prospects. Compassion card teamwork is improving, and we wrote 108 cards on Sunday. God Bless!”

Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Kodie Martin (evangelist) reports, “Our team wrote an additional 50 cards, bringing the total to 92 for the month. We also passed out another 1,000 invitation cards to our members to give to those in the community and emphasized the purpose of doing so. We have another study soon to be set up, this time by an elder and his wife. Tamara, a frequent visitor, had asked to join the membership, but the opportunity was used to bridge that into a Bible study. It is encouraging to see others able to follow the process. Apart from that, we have two other studies that will soon come to fruition, and this is all before we begin transition visits this month!”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “Williamsburg church of Christ was blessed with a local husband and wife who attend worship and Bible study with her mother. Her mother is a member of the church and attends regularly. These two contacts received first-time visitor bags, and a card will be sent with a follow-up visit. We also delivered 60 bags to the cancer facility for patients receiving treatment.”

West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “One of our recent converts informed us of a friend with a need for food. We hope this will be an opportunity for a Bible study. As we prepare for our next Community Support Day (CSD) on May 30, we are mailing invitation postcards to almost everyone who has received our compassion cards during the past 22+ months. We are hopeful this will encourage previous attendees to come again, to share this event with their friends and family, and to demonstrate our desire to be of service in our community. Our studies together yesterday emphasized the importance of letting our joy be seen by others and finding practical ways to do that.”
