Cards, Signs, and a Website…
Written By Alex Simmons (preacher)

Compassion cards are starting to take effect. This past week, some prospects reached out, stating they were so thankful for the cards, and they would like to come to services to thank the congregation. We look forward to their visit as we continue to build a relationship, with the goal of adding more souls to the Body!

Another prospect has also agreed to have a study. He is currently in California, but once he returns to Texas, we will begin our study. There is no telling how long he will be in California, so we are praying that the Lord would grant him time to get his life right with Him (2 Pet. 3:9).

On another positive note, we had a visitor this past week. He is a resident here in Burnet who drives past our building daily. In talking with him, I found out he became interested in the Lord’s church because of the sign at the front of our building, which is updated weekly. He liked what he was reading, which took him to our website, where he has been listening to audio sermon recordings for several months. He told me he has listened to every sermon and was even a little disappointed that recent sermons have not been uploaded. We have not set up a study yet, but we will be sending cards, and he plans to come by my office. This soul teaches us all a lesson we need to learn. Never underestimate the power of God’s Word and what it can do on the internet. Until yesterday, I genuinely thought no one was listening to those sermons, but this man and his wife were. When honest and sincere hearts search for the truth, they are going to find it! May God bless you all in your labor for Him.”

Congregational Reports

Welcome, White Knoll church of Christ, Red Bank, South Carolina: We welcome the White Knoll church of Christ to the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. The congregation has a core group that is dedicated and motivated. They are located in a rapidly growing area and want to reach out to the community. Please keep them in your prayers as they begin training and equipping their members.

Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “We had a wonderful week of evangelism at Mountain Home, and we rejoice that two young men were added to the household of God—both were the result of patient teaching, prayer, and relationships built over time.

The first, Orion, is a teenager who has been attending with his girlfriend, a member of the church, and he has studied with her father. He believed the truth and understood what he needed to do, yet he hesitated. With continued encouragement and quiet faithfulness from those around him, the moment finally came—almost unexpectedly—when he told the youth minister he was ready. On Wednesday night, he put on Christ in baptism. The second, Grady, has been attending on Wednesday nights with his father for over a year. Occasionally, his mother and older brother would join as well. A few weeks ago, following a Wednesday night devotional, something shifted—he began praying earnestly and talking often with his father about baptism. When we sat down to study, there was no uncertainty. He knew what he needed to do and was ready to obey without delay. On Saturday, I had the privilege of baptizing him in front of his entire family, including grandparents who live nearby. His father was overjoyed. Though his dad is a baptized believer who has not been attending regularly on Sundays, Grady’s decision has the potential to spark renewed faithfulness throughout the family. This one is especially meaningful to us personally. Our family has grown close to theirs, and it all began with something simple—my youngest son adding Grady to his prayer list after getting to know him at school. It is a powerful reminder that God works through even the smallest acts of faith. In both cases, the relationships did not yield immediate results, but through consistent prayer, steady encouragement, and ongoing connection, the Lord brought about a beautiful harvest (Galatians 6:9).”

Petersville church of Christ, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “The Petersville congregation sent 12 compassion cards last week. There is a Bible study on Thursday that we expect to conclude a long journey to baptism! We have begun plans for VBS and are being intentional about using it as an evangelistic opportunity.”

Glencoe church of Christ, Alabama: Keith Ritchie (evangelist) reports, “Glencoe has several evangelistic works coming up soon. Our kids will have several opportunities to take part in evangelism. Our members delivered new mover baskets this past Sunday, and we are preparing for more door knockings after HTH is sent to a new area. We have two Bible studies ongoing with more prospects in sight. We appreciate all prayers. Let’s all sow, grow, and glow . . . To God be the glory!”

Central church of Christ, Saraland, Alabama: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “We hosted an area-wide singing Sunday night. We had a great turnout, and I believe it rejuvenated some of our members. There may not have been any visitors who were not already Christians, but to know we have the love and support of our area congregations means so much to us at this moment. On Sunday morning, we had two families who were visiting from out of town, and we signed cards for one contact. It was a good week. God blesses in many ways.”

Hatton church of Christ, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “Yesterday we had the monthly mission meal after service. Almost half of the assignments went to our youth. All ages are involved in our evangelism, and the youth, especially, have been very successful lately at bringing friends to Christ. We continue to be excited and have great participation. We are practicing patience with several who have been attending regularly lately, and we hope to have studies with them soon.”

Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Josh Halloway (preacher) reports, “We are grateful to share that the Lord continues to bless the evangelistic efforts here at Cedar Grove. We remain actively engaged in several works, and it is encouraging to see steady progress being made. At this time, we have around five regular Bible studies ongoing. Our study with a woman named Sandy will reach her final lesson on salvation tomorrow. We appreciate all prayers as she considers the truth she has been taught. We are also continuing a study with a husband and wife, Lontae and Casheria, and that study continues to go well. Another individual, Shawn, is likewise in his final lesson on salvation. He has been very diligent—studying not only with us but also reading Muscle and a Shovel each night with his family between studies. He has been attending regularly and is very close to making the decision to obey the Gospel. In addition, we are preparing to begin a new study this week with a man named Ian. We are thankful for every new opportunity to open God’s Word. We also continue to conduct a weekly remote Bible study with an individual from Birmingham. He expressed his desire today to be baptized. We are working to connect him with a local congregation, and we hope he will obey the Gospel soon. Our congregation remains actively involved in outreach efforts. The card program continues to be a strong avenue of encouragement and contact. We are also preparing for our upcoming VBS with an evangelistic focus, seeking to reach families in our community. Additionally, regular door-knocking efforts are ongoing as we strive to sow the seed throughout our area. We appreciate others who pray for these souls, for open hearts, and for wisdom and boldness as we labor together for the Lord.”

Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “We had some good Bible discussions with Meals on Wheels recipients last week! We have one Bible study in progress and another starting this week. Cards continue to be sent, and people are added to the list regularly.”

Harrisburg church of Christ, Arkansas: Mark Weston (elder) reports, “This week was a little quieter than it has been in the past. We are working the program, but not a lot of big things are happening. We have remained focused, and we understand that all the little efforts add up in the end; we expect good things to continue to happen. As I stated previously, the elders have begun visiting our prodigals, and we have been very encouraged by those visits. Several more visits were made this week and seem to have been well received. We are still praying that some of our prodigals will come home. In addition to those visits, three more new mover baskets were delivered, and we began compassion cards for them yesterday.  Group 4 met at 5:00 p.m. Sunday and prepared 95 cards to be mailed this week. We have been getting contact cards from our members, which keeps us steadily supplied with names for our compassion card teams. Brock, who has been working with the young people, had another Bible study with them. The studies have been going well, and he can see progress. We are encouraged by that. We had a couple of visitors yesterday. None will work through the program, but we enjoy our visitors, even if they are family members. We are praying for many people and activities within our church family—sickness, deaths, family struggles—just life in general. We have faith that God will carry us through. It is good to be part of the family of God.”

Northside church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Larry Keener (elder) reports, “We are in the busy month of May. We had Senior Sunday last week and the Awards banquet for our Future Christian Leaders this week. Our card ministry has now been accomplished with two contacts, and visits are being planned this week. We also had two visitors this week, and plans are being made to visit them. One was a past member; the other was invited by one of our youth. Steve and David continue to encourage and train.  We appreciate all prayers for God’s glory in our efforts.”

Bergman church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Vince Stewart (preacher) reports, “Last week we sent out 15 compassion cards to Patricia Fitch (prodigal), one envelope with three cards Monday-Friday, with a few left over. Yesterday, Team 2 wrote compassion cards. I suggested sending out two per day to stretch out the card sending because we will not have enough for four weeks’ worth. My oldest daughter had her first Bible study with another college student, using Book 1 of BTTB. I praised her for her own effort and suggested she should try not to let too much time pass before doing Book 2. So one Bible study was done last week.”

Concord Street church of Christ, Orlanda, Florida: Ron Benvegna (elder) reports, “David preached on the Parable of Talents yesterday and handed out a survey with outstanding results. Billy pulled all the info together and built a spreadsheet. The summary is as follows: We received 187 responses. Nearly 100 percent of the respondents expressed hope regarding church growth. Furthermore, there is a strong consensus that the congregation supports investing in local evangelism. While many volunteered for two or three areas, we have a group of “high-capacity” members who indicated a willingness to serve in nearly every area listed (often 15+ categories). The Teaching Team (72 people): There is a high interest in being willing to either lead a Bible study or sit in as a silent partner. This is a massive engine for growth. The Hospitality Team (98 people): A large group is ready to serve as greeters and prepare visitor bags. The Support Team (115 people): We see high interest in ‘Compassion Cards’ and ‘New Mover Baskets,’ providing us with a sustainable way for members to serve behind the scenes. Even members who may be shy or have busy schedules are eager to contribute.”

Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “New converts bring more contacts! Darian Lee, a new convert, visited us this past Sunday and plans to continue so for the next several weeks while he is here working. He lives in North Carolina and was converted by one of our members, Anthony Juliano, via a Zoom Bible study. The two of them have worked together in the Navy for several years and are both enthusiastic about evangelism. In just one conversation, they identified several prospects that they want to engage, both one-on-one and via Zoom. How exciting! We are going to add them to our contact list, send cards, and offer the Bible studies. We know God will provide the increase. In addition, we have an Evangelism Ministry Meeting scheduled for this week to refresh and recharge all our coordinators. We also plan to recruit more helpers to expand the ministry. Our total 2026 Accountability Board numbers are: 119 Contacts Received; 68 Neighbors (Prospects); 425 Compassion Cards sent; 14 Bible studies; one Restoration, and six Baptisms.”

Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “This week we sent 98 cards. We had one new family visit this week. We had some returning visitors. We set up a new study with a young man in the military and his friend, who is a Christian. We have one family placing membership this week. We had two Bible studies. We had some Bible studies scheduled that had to be rescheduled.”

Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Tom Neth (deacon) reports, “This week we continued building on the momentum from our recent training by staying consistent in our outreach efforts. We wrote 100 compassion cards, bringing our total to over 1,300 cards sent, a strong reflection of the congregation’s commitment to reaching others. We currently have three active Bible studies in progress, and we are thankful for these ongoing opportunities to share and grow. The greatest blessing we are seeing right now is an increase in unity. It is especially encouraging that more than 50% of our members are actively involved in the work. This growing participation is strengthening both our efforts and our fellowship as we continue serving together.”

Milestone church of Christ, Cantonment, Florida: Randy Brantley (elder) reports, “Training on invitation cards was completed yesterday. Members have been giving out many cards at restaurants and doctors’ offices before we even finished training. We had one visitor yesterday. This week, we will be making visits to the recipients of the compassion cards. We also put together the new movers’ bags so we will be ready to start visiting them.”

Avalon church of Christ, Florida (remote): Preston Silcox (elder) reports, “It has been a while since we made a report. So far this year, the Avalon congregation has conducted 35 Bible studies with a goal of at least 100 for the year. We have also had four baptisms. Our attendance has been averaging in the 80s, which is twice as many as it was when we first planted the congregation nine years ago. We are also encouraged by the number of new and returning visitors we have had recently (30 one week and 20 another).”

Lafayette church of Christ, Georgia: Jesse Teague (deacon) reports, “The members at Lafayette are always busy with the Lord’s work. This Lord’s Day, we had a celebration for our graduating high school seniors with a meal after morning worship. We invited their extended families and have worked on making connections with them. Since it was the first Sunday of the month, we held a compassion card signing after evening worship with Group 1—nine members participated and wrote cards for six souls. Two people obeyed the Gospel recently. Kevin Dooley was baptized on April 26, and Richard White was baptized on May 1. Both of these souls have extenuating circumstances that make it difficult for them to attend worship. It is very difficult for their growth if they cannot remedy this quickly. Our elders and minister are heavily involved in working with them on this.”

Cartersville church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “Anna and I were able to study with Rai, and she decided to put Christ on in baptism (Galatians 3:27). We studied about the standard that will judge us, which is the New Testament (John 12:48). With the New Testament as the authority, we studied how we can identify the Lord’s church today by how it worships (John 4:24), by how it is organized (1 Timothy 3:1-13), and how it is described (Romans 16:16). We then studied why we need salvation (Romans 3:23; 6:23). We studied about His love for us (Romans 5:8). We then studied how we should respond to the sacrifice of Jesus. We studied that when a believer who is penitent is baptized, he is then forgiven of his sins and added to the church by the Lord Himself (John 8:24; Acts 17:30; Mark 16:16; Romans 6:3-5; Acts 2:47). We were thankful for Rai’s desire to simply follow Scripture. What about you? There are other souls that are close to being baptized as well. The HTHSOE Student Program continues to grow, with another student enrolling today. It is encouraging to see so many brothers and sisters seeking to be more effective in their evangelistic efforts.”

Adairsville church of Christ, Georgia: Rick Lawson (preacher) reports, “Sister Maria Miladzo was born in Tripoli and raised in Italy. She lived her adult life in New York City. Now, she is a citizen of the Kingdom of God!”

Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “Woodstock church of Christ (WCOC)celebrated their 50th Anniversary / Homecoming on Sunday. We had eighty-nine visitors for this joyous occasion. We had one response asking for prayers. This week, we are rolling into Revival; the speaker is Matt Amos, Preacher. WCOC conducted thirteen Bible studies last week.”

Warner Robins church of Christ, Georgia: Damien Walker (evangelist) reports, “We are making good progress with our transition team training. Over the next few weeks, the transition team will practice door knocking. They will also practice a Bible study to learn how to use the ‘defer, don’t debate’ tactic as well as when and how to use Evangelism Visualized and How to Close The Study. There will be a transition team graduation to recognize their effort publicly in addition to gifting them a Bible study bag (loaded with essentials like BTTB, pens, breath mints, Evangelism Visualized, etc.). After that, we will meet on the first and third Sundays of each month to assign prospects for follow-up and report on progress. We are getting closer to establishing a strong foundation and to highlighting our goals and progress to the congregation through our accountability boards. The members are getting better at submitting contact cards. One extra thing that we have been doing is ‘Man-na Monday,’ a men’s Zoom call devotional discussion once a month. We are working to promote this, especially among our men in the congregation, and to encourage them to invite a friend. We have a couple of guys who join this activity regularly, but we do not see them otherwise. We hope this will be a bridge for evangelism, restoration, and continued spiritual growth all at once.”

Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “We had another good Sunday. We are still optimistic about the work here. We sent out 124 cards for April, made eight visits, and have eight prospects. We are looking for great things to happen in Gray; to God be the glory!”

North Park church of Christ, Machesney Park, Illinois (remote): Marcus Price (member) reports, “We had two more baptisms for 2026. Melissa and Ray were baptized today. They are coworkers. Melissa had been attending for a while, and we asked her if she was interested in studying three or four months ago, but she was not ready then. She started a new job and invited her coworker, Ray, to church. So, about a month ago, they both said they were interested in having a study. We used Back to the Bible, and they decided to obey today. They said they cannot talk about God at work, and both love Him and want to do His will. They both have sincere hearts. They are looking forward to the Beyond Baptism study. To God be the glory. We have several visitors at our congregation.”

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “April was a very busy month. We made 90 new mover visits and delivered 49 (54 percent). We made six follow-up visits, with three at home. We handed out five visitor bags and conducted 12 Bible studies. We mailed 480 compassion cards. On Saturday morning, Mika was baptized into Christ after five months of study. We baptized her husband earlier in the year. We continued studying with him out of the Acts Workbook. We showed her baptism video on Sunday before worship. Robert has been bringing his daughter and son-in-law to worship. We conducted our first study with them on Sunday. On Tuesday evening, 16 of us, including five of our teenagers, went out to deliver baskets and then had ice cream. We have set up a couple of new studies and are excited to get them started. Mid-May is our Evangelism Refresh.”

Jerseyville church of Christ, Illinois (remote): Jacob Medford (minister) reports, “We had a couple of visitors on Wednesday evening who were greeted correctly, received a visitor bag, and shared their contact information. We also sent the first batch of cards out immediately. The training on that part seems to be working great. We also found out there is a lady in our community who has been studying the Bible by herself. She had reached out to a member of the church in Tennessee because she knew them, and she was baptized there. We got her contact information and sent her cards immediately. We have not heard back from her yet, but we are very hopeful. The cards still have a 100 percent participation by everyone here, which is great!”

15th street church of Christ, Ottawa, Kansas (remote): Brady Altic (associate minister) reports, “We are excited to apply the things we are learning from the School of Evangelism to our lives! We currently have one Bible study in the works with Jessy. We have completed Lesson 1 of Back to the Bible with him, and we are ready to go through Lesson 2 this week. We also have a contact made with somebody new in town (Marry). We helped her move in and will work to build a relationship with her and transition into a Bible study. Prayers are appreciated and needed for those who are studying with us. Pray also that our congregation will stay steadfast in this work for the Lord.”

Beloit church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dustin Dougherty (regional trainer) reports, “We had a small number again Sunday, but we are continuing our search for local contacts with the weekly concerns list.  We will be finishing the New Testament reading this week. We are excited for all the readers digging through God’s word again, and for all the first-time readers this time.”

Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (preacher) reports, “We were blessed with two Bible studies this past week, and it seems that both of the individuals are very close to a decision point. They have chosen not to be baptized at this point, but they are still willing to study, so of course, those studies will continue. We appreciate all prayers for their studies. Our efforts overall are still a little slow this year, but it is not due to a lack of effort. We continue to know there are souls looking for the Lord, and we intend to do our best to reach them!”

Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: Ben Vallery (deacon) reports, “Visitors: 2, Visits Made: 4, Cards signed: Wk – 25 / Mo – 25, Prospects/Neighbors: 12, Bible studies: 2, Baptisms: 3, 2026 Baptism goal: 20
New Movers Baskets Delivered: 0. Our New Converts’ classes continue on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.  We appreciate you meeting with us last week, and we’ll be discussing how to best implement your suggestions along with the new resources you shared. We’ll be sure to reach out as we have questions.”

Waldorf church of Christ, Maryland: Joseph Day (member) reports, “For May 3, we had six visitors. We prepared 140 compassion cards for mailing during the week ahead, and we conducted a few porch visits for contacts who received multiple weeks of compassion cards.”

La Plata church of Christ, Maryland: Eric Sykes (regional trainer) reports, “All is going well here at the La Plata church of Christ. This week we had four visitors. We are still reaching out to the members of our community that we met during AMC. We are going through the congregation’s response to the post-seminar survey, and the saints are quickly turning them in. We have a couple of new area coordinators, and we are putting together their supporting cast. To quote Dave, we are putting together ‘The Dream Team.’ We have re-vamped our compassion card writing and contact tracking procedures, and things are flowing so much more smoothly. In the last two weeks, we have written 150 compassion cards. We are making arrangements to visit ten of our prospects. Brother Dave Bradshaw, one of our elders, and his wife Michelle, started Book 1 of Back to the Bible with a longtime family friend and former student. She had a few questions during the study; overall, it went great. Their friend is super excited and looking forward to the next study this Thursday. Sister Tabetha restarted Lesson 1 of BTTB with her co-worker. It had been quite a while since they had completed any of the lessons, so they decided to review Lesson 1 and start over. It went well, and they will do Lesson 2 of BTTB this week. Brother Jaumale is starting lesson one of BTTB tomorrow with a young man who visited the worship service last week. We appreciate prayers for that study. One of our new converts is still studying with his younger brother. We ask for prayers for them and for the power of the Gospel. Also, Sandy hurt her back, so, we had to reschedule the Bible studies that we had for this week. We appreciate all prayers.”

Oak Grove church of Christ, Missouri: David Wiseman (elder) reports, “I have attached a picture of our current board. We had a fantastic week, as one of our Bible studies ended up with a baptism on Thursday evening! We had 11 visitors on Sunday. That is our highest number since we started the evangelism program. We sent 31 cards to a combination of new movers and compassion cards. We need to complete our transition visits. We appreciate all encouragement and prayers for our work.”

Plainview church of Christ, Fulton, Mississippi: Tom House (preacher) reports, “We are continuing the studies in Back to the Bible during class time. Compassion cards are going out this week. We had one baptism this week, which was the result of a long period of study with the husband of one of our members. Other studies are continuing.”

Fulton church of Christ, Mississippi: Richard Comer (deacon) reports, “We are sending 30 cards this week. We are still trying to schedule visits. We are teaching Back to the Bible. A few members are working towards getting a Bible study.”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: Jonathan Hagar (preacher) reports, “We had four visitors this past Sunday morning for worship. One had never been there before, so we gave her a visitor packet and asked for her information. We also had our Fish Fry, a community event, and got over 20 contact cards with several visitors from the community who said they were looking for a new church. It was a great success! I posted the ‘New Member Spotlight’ graphics to Facebook this past week. It gave the new converts an opportunity to share their baptism and new church family with their friends and family! Both of them loved the idea and thanked the church for the welcome they had received.”

East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “We had four visitors on Sunday. Our metrics thus far through and for May 2026 are two baptisms, six visitors, ten Bible studies, and one in our New Convert’s class. We appreciate all prayers.”

Glendale Street church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina (remote): Dayle Taylor (preacher) reports, “Prospects: On Sunday, we were blessed with two returning visitors. Both are family members of two congregation members, respectively. BTTB classes have paused for one visitor due to her unavailability; however, the class is highly likely to resume next week. Additionally, a transition visit was made to an erring member. Another visit is scheduled to the erring member’s home this week. Bible studies continue through Back to the Bible with two prospects, but one canceled a scheduled lesson on Friday. In addition, prospects studying Believe the Bible and Does It Matter? continue. We appreciate weekly prayers. New Converts: All of our recent converts were present for Bible Study and worship. Encouragements are ongoing.”

Abilene church of Christ, Statesville, North Carolina (remote): Gary Dull (evangelist) reports, “We are thrilled to announce we have a new Sister in Christ today. After studying with D’Lea and Deborah, Shelly Craig obeyed the Gospel. Currently, we have several of our people doing Bible studies with individuals. The total is six in our group of 23 members. We continue to hand out new mover baskets, and we are following that up with a visit and a card. Our compassion cards are still going out, and we have a couple now visiting with us fairly regularly. God is faithful.”

Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “We had our Thursday school (a pre-school program that we offer to area congregations and the community) graduation last night. We had 30 visitors; 25 were from area congregations. We obtained two visitors’ contact cards. We had 60 compassion cards and have two possible Bible studies and one restoration.”

Coweta church of Christ, Oklahoma: Houston Shrum (regional trainer) reports, “This week we are having a meeting to finalize details on our upcoming VBS. We will be marketing it heavily throughout our area and praying to make new contacts from it. We are also planning a Saturday Bible giveaway to hand out free Bibles to community members.”

Grove church of Christ, Oklahoma: Juan Jarmillo (preacher) reports, “This past week was a good week overall. Our system of having the whole congregation write cards during the day had a good yield, though not good enough for two weeks. So we are going to have to write additional cards this upcoming Sunday, rather than every other Sunday, to make up for our lack of writing. However, we did end up writing 118 cards to ten prospects. We are sending one card to those whom we have already been sending cards, and we are preparing to make transition visits this week, Lord willing. We have had two baptisms in the last couple of weeks, so the congregation rejoices! We are also doing Believe the Bible in our Sunday worship services. Next week, we do Book 3. In the teens’ class, we will begin BTTB Book 3. Praise be to God for all the marvelous works being done!”

Owasso church of Christ, Tulsa, Oklahoma: David Combs (elder) reports, “Yesterday was a great day; we had two fine lessons from Brother Dan. It was the first Sunday of the month, so we passed out invite cards in bundles of 10 to all of our members. We did it as Brother Dan was stepping into the pulpit, so he explained how to use them and how successful they have been. On Sunday evening, following worship, Group 1 met to write compassion cards. Fifteen writers met to write 76 cards to be mailed out over the next three weeks. This week had three new prospects.”

Guymon church of Christ, Oklahoma: Chandler Henderson (preacher) reports, “This last week we fed 31 students at our local college. We had two visitors on Sunday morning. We have nine contacts, five prospects, four in-person Bible studies, three virtual Bible studies, have one New Convert’s class on Sunday morning going through Growing in Christ, a men’s bible study on Monday nights, women’s Bible study on Thursday nights. One of our studies will be going through book 3 of BTTB this Thursday evening.”

Cheyenne church of Christ, Oklahoma (remote): Nathan Brewer (coordinator) reports, “On Sunday, I preached a sermon from Matthew 21:23-27 and Luke 10:23-36 entitled ’Ask Questions; Don’t Answer Them.’ I presented the number of questions Jesus was asked in the Gospels, the number He answered directly, and the number He asked others. I pointed out that Jesus did not answer questions; He asked them. I pointed out that answering random Bible questions rarely does any good. Instead, Christians need to use the questions we are asked as an opportunity to begin a study with Back to the Bible.”

York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “We have really been focusing on building up our members to be true evangelism workers. We are making official team assignments, training, and encouragement. We have also focused on keeping our new converts integrated into the flock. This means building relationships, fellowshipping, studying together, and encouraging each other. We have continued to have a few repeat visitors. It is good to see their curiosity, and we are hoping to work on those toward Bible studies. We send cards when we have new visitors, and we had a transition team meeting this Sunday. We have two contacts whom we plan to visit at their homes this month.”

St. Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (preacher) reports, “This past Sunday, Team 4 wrote 56 compassion cards. They had another good week of participation in that ministry. In our morning sermon, we began Book 3 of Back to the Bible. We continue to have one in our New Converts’ class.”

Rome church of Christ, Lebanon, Tennessee (remote): David Oxley reports, “We have one Bible study planned for this week. We will also meet for our New Convert’s class on Monday. We are happy to report we had another baptism yesterday.”

Soddy Daisy church of Christ, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “Our church family continues to be blessed by a steady stream of visitors! We are actively meeting with our guests to explore how we can best serve them through ministry and scripture study. As we get to know these prospects, we ask for prayers that the Word would fall on receptive hearts. Another instance to be thankful for is a consistent return of some who have been wayward. We pray for the restoration and reconciliation of hearts that desire to repent and be restored. We continue to reach out to many through compassion cards and phone calls.”

Birdwell Chapel church of Christ, Cottontown, Tennessee: Kerry England (elder) reports, “Dale began running Facebook ads last week. That is generating more views on our website and also more engagements. We have recently helped a couple of individuals with benevolence. One of them is attending worship services regularly. She has stated how much she enjoys the fellowship and has been very appreciative of the help and encouragement. The other lady is having some health issues, but she has stated her intentions to come to church when her health improves.”

White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “We wrote 173 cards to go out this week. We had 11 visitors. One family was there as a direct result of receiving cards. Some stayed for our first Sunday of the month potluck.  Four teams went out on Thursday evening for transition visits. We were able to talk with three families. We had great interactions with each other, looking like it is moving toward a Bible study soon. The others will need more interaction and relationship building.”

Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “Just yesterday, we produced a new welcome video, featuring both of our ministers. We are encouraging all our members to share this with friends and family and on social media to increase our exposure within our community. Two of our members, Jett and Autumn, responded this week, seeking prayers and restoration. We are thankful for their sincere hearts and their desire to please the Lord.”

Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “We are excited as we started our direct mailing of House to House. We have about 100 new names turned in, and an additional 50 have already been turned in; we will mail them out next week. The members are eager to work! I had a great Bible study this past Saturday with one of our long-term visitors. We began Book 1 of Back to the Bible. There are some challenges that will be present in future studies, but I pray and am confident that the power of God’s word will navigate those issues. We also sent get-well cards to a cousin of mine who will be having surgery today. Those cards will be hand-delivered. By the end of the week, we will have sent out 70 compassion cards to start May. We give God the glory!”

West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “We have one Bible study going on with one of our members’ family members, which we are excited about. We have added about five contacts, and our prospect list has grown to ten prospects.”

Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “We continue to work through several contacts that we previously had on our list. We had good visits but did not schedule any Bible studies at that time. Many of those will be receiving a follow-up visit soon, so we hope to have an opportunity to open the door again and have receptive hearts. We continue to get several visitors at our community table on Wednesday nights, but several are only staying for the meal and not our Bible study afterward. We continue to pray for these families and all of our evangelistic efforts.”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “Elder Gary Massey, Minister, commenced a Bible study with a previously mentioned individual. Establishing trust, genuine interest, and a welcoming atmosphere within the congregation fosters an openness for participants to share their personal background history, which can serve as a guiding framework for the study. Each study leader has the flexibility to adjust the study’s pace to meet participants’ individual needs, enabling a customized approach within the structured framework of the Back to the Biblelessons. May God grant us the continued growth and success of this endeavor.”

Rivergate church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “We had four visitors on Wednesday night. We had six visitors on Sunday morning. One of the visitors is the brother of one of our members, who told me he is ‘working on’ him. One visit was made last week.”

McEwen church of Christ, Tennessee: John Jones (preacher) reports, “For the next two Monday nights, we are having Bible study teacher training sessions while we prepare for the next group of linemen to come through. One of our members is joining the linemen school this session, so we hope to have better access to advertising our Bible study and more students than usual.”

Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (associate minister) reports, “Here is this week’s update from the work in Collierville. Our year-to-date numbers continue to trend upward. We are now at 15 new visitors, with 455 cards sent. We have made five visits, and our prospect list has grown to 32 individuals. We currently have one Bible study in progress. The New Movers effort also remains productive, with 45 baskets delivered so far this year. We have also been able to incorporate additional items into the baskets with help from local business owners, which has strengthened the overall presentation and reception. We are maintaining consistency in the process and continuing to build contacts that we believe will lead to further opportunities. We appreciate continued support and oversight.”

Dover church of Christ, Tennessee: Cody Brown (preacher) reports, “Last Wednesday night, we introduced Back to the Bible to our teen class and had one individual visiting with us that has not obeyed the Gospel, so we pray that this class will help teach him the truth. We kicked off our Gospel Meeting yesterday with the primary goal of getting visitors from the community to attend so that we can then prospect. We continue to review the contacts bookmark weekly to help change our congregation’s culture. We ask for prayers for the young man in the teen class, as well as our efforts in the Gospel Meeting this week. We have also been emphasizing personal invitations as they relate to our meeting.  Right now, we have these numbers: Contacts-800, Prospects-five, Bible Studies-three, Baptisms-one, Baptism Goal-eight.”

Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio: Mel Hutzler (preacher) reports, “I am happy to report we had three more baptisms. Robert (Anthony’s grandson), Irma (granddaughter), and Daijah (Robert’s girlfriend) were baptized into Christ. We are excited about their commitment to Christ. We continue to greet visitors, record visitors’ information, send cards, and follow up. Bible studies are always taking place in homes, the church building, and other places. Our New Convert’s class continues to go well, and we are blessed that the Lord has given the increase. We appreciate the congregation so much for helping to retain the overwhelming majority of our new converts.”

Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “Last Friday, we had another baptism, Mark Meza. This young man grew up in the doors of a congregation’s building. He was even baptized as a young boy. However, he had not been living faithfully. After one of his friends (whom we recently taught) obeyed the Gospel and changed his life drastically, Mark had questions. Like Saul, Mark did not really understand the meaning of obeying the Gospel of Christ. He did not truly understand the authority of Christ, the Lord’s church, and why he was being baptized. After studying book one, he loved it so much that they studied through all three booklets in one sitting. With the answer of a good conscience, he did not hesitate to obey for all of the right reasons. To God be the glory.”

Eisenhower church of Christ, Odessa, Texas: Allen Weakland (elder) reports, “As the school year draws to a close, the Eisenhower congregation is seeing higher than average activity concerning spirituality.  Once again, we had several visitors for our AM service, and we are excited about our visitors for our PM service. What excites me is seeing how our visitors are greeted when they arrive and how often we see our members engaging with them after service. People are laughing and smiling, and invitations to eat at local restaurants are frequent. What a wonderful sight of God’s people displaying the love of Christ. We appreciate all prayers for these efforts to transition from contacts to prospects.”

Roanoke church of Christ, Texas: Caleb Rutherford (preacher) reports, “We are still prospecting several individuals, as we continue to prepare for AMC. Group 4 wrote to six prospects, and a couple of transition visits were made. We are continuing to work on the evangelism model.”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “We have two ongoing studies with new converts. Wade and I will meet on Wednesday with Ethan and a friend. I will meet with Jesse on Friday. One of our card teams met and addressed cards to a visitor and to some of our members who needed prayers and encouragement.”

Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “I have plans to contact the two visitors who came to our workshop about studying next week. I continue to try to contact the young man who visited, but I have not reached him. I will keep trying.”

Stratford church of Christ, Texas: Chad Thies (preacher) reports, “Contacts: we had three visitors on Wednesday. Prospecting: We sent two compassion cards. We made three visits. Bible Studies: We had seven Bible studies. New Converts: We had a New Convert’s class on Sunday morning. One young man led his first song on Wednesday night and his first thoughts for the Lord’s Supper on Sunday. Another young man led devotional thoughts for the second month in a row. They both did a wonderful job. They received high praise from many members of the congregation. Growing church: We landed our first Bible study from the New Movers Program. Fourteen cards had been sent; four visits were made, with a transition visit and then a follow-up transition visit. Many members of the congregation were involved in this, and now a couple of us are planning to sit down and teach this man the Gospel of Christ!”

San Saba church of Christ, Texas: Justin Bell (preacher) reports, “We continue to stay very busy here in San Saba. We have had seven baptisms in the past month and have been very busy with new convert studies and counseling. Our prospect list has dropped pretty low, and I am hoping to get that number back up this week. We currently have only three Bible studies, but have three transition visits to make, so we are very hopeful that number should be coming up.”

North Jefferson church of Christ, Mt. Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (evangelist) reports, “This past week, I held a meeting with our compassion card team leaders. We updated/restructured our teams, discussed responsibilities, incorporated some of HTH’s methods for improving involvement, and established a day to conduct our transition visits: “Send-Out Sunday.” Once a month, we will meet after lunch, discuss transition visits, and schedule/make the visits. I believe this will be a good way to begin doing our new movers as well. On Sunday night, I spoke to the congregation about the compassion card program, about how to make it more effective, and why we need their participation. Participation was really good Sunday night, and we wrote 80 cards. On Friday night, one of our youth, Autumn, made the wonderful decision to be baptized into Christ! Three of our ladies are still studying with Gaby, I am still studying with Estaban, and Jeff is looking to begin a study with Tony (the husband of one of our members). We had two visitors on Sunday who indicated they might be looking for a church home, and a nursing home employee at one of our nursing home services who was interested in learning more. Finally, two LDS ‘elders’ knocked on my door last night, and I will be studying with them next week. I am hoping to plant as many seeds as I can with them, and I pray that God will give the increase.”

Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Kodie Martin (evangelist) reports, “Our card-writing team wrote 42 cards to several of our prospects. One such prospect, Priscilla, has been visiting regularly, and she is interested in a study. I have begun making preparations for that, so more excitement and fruit will surely come from it! Marco taught the lesson ‘Growing church: Everyone has a place’ to our members, and it was well-received. We also showed people the overall metrics to demonstrate how much success we have had in such a short time; this is to encourage people who were on the fence to keep working. We will continue to press on as God has given us ample opportunities for growth!”

Orange Community church of Christ, Orange, Virginia (remote): Marvin Henderson (preacher) reports, “We signed up for the New Movers program, since we now have a new house church address. We also plan to start sending out the HTH/HTH six or twelve times per year.”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “This week we were blessed with two local visitors. They appreciated the first-time visitor bags and information about the congregation. We will be following up with them this week. Plans are being coordinated to have a cookout for children and families in the nearby apartment complex in that area. God continues to supply contacts and answer our prayers to preach the Word to the lost. May He bless all those who are working in the harvest field!”

West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “Multiple Bible studies are continuing. We are prayerful that these individuals will be convicted by God’s word and make the decision to obey it. Our Fruit of the Spirit lessons discussed the topic of Joy in our morning lesson and evening group discussions. We used the Sermon on the Mount Beatitudes to build a foundation of how we can create joy in our lives through our obedience to His will. As our joy deepens, the effects of it will be seen by others with whom we make contact. We will want to share the Source of our joy, so others may have the opportunity to experience it for themselves.”
