American Mission Campaign: Reaching the Lost Like Jesus Written By Rob Whitacre

If your evangelism is not about Jesus, then Jesus is not about it.  American Mission Campaigns are the practicum of the House to House/Heart to Heart School of Evangelism. We not only train but also execute the mission in local communities. Our first attempt was in 2021 in Rome, Georgia, and we immediately knew the glass ceiling of local missions had been broken. The results have been phenomenal. No longer do you have to travel to India, Jamaica, or Costa Rica to seek, reach, and teach the lost.

This year, a new opportunity arose with Freed-Hardeman University. HTHSOE partners with most of our preaching schools and one of our Christian universities, but we have been looking for a way to add FHU. Thanks to the help of Rick Brumback and Justin Rogers, this prayer was answered.  On March 21, we began AMC with the La Plata and Waldorf church of Christ, and around 18 students from FHU. We invited a dozen mentors from HTHSOE-trained congregations to join around 110 servants for four hours of training and practicum each day.

Our first strategy focused on following Jesus’ example of prayer. “Lord, teach us to pray . . .” (Luke 11:1). We went door to door and asked those who spoke to us if we could pray for anyone in their lives. This resulted in our first contact on Sunday afternoon and our first baptism. Jason Wright and Harmony (FHU student) studied with Mary using Back to the Bible, and she obeyed the Gospel on Thursday afternoon.

Our second strategy focused on following Jesus’ example of compassion. “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd” (Matthew 9:36). We send compassion cards to those going through life events. This resulted in two erring members returning to the church. The results were immediate!

Our third strategy focused on following Jesus’ example of helping the poor. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor . . .” (Luke 4:18). We reached out to low-income areas and offered help and Bible study. One family we helped came to La Plata on Sunday morning!

Our fourth strategy focused on following Jesus’ example of invitation. “Go ye therefore into the highways and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage” (Matthew 22:9). Visitors came during the campaign, and Melvin was among them. We studied with him and his sister on Wednesday night and baptized both of them.

Our fifth strategy is based on following Jesus’ example of feeding the hungry. “But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind” (Luke 12:13).  We invited everyone to enjoy a meal and meet the church in their area on Friday night. We had 40 guests!

In addition, this year we added a new strategy that our FHU students titled “Word on the Street” (WOS). “And Phillip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest” (Acts 8:30). Apologetics Press donated 100 Bibles, and we used these at local hangouts. Twenty-five contacts were made by the FHU students using this new strategy. WOS is highly effective!
What did Generation Z think of this evangelistic approach? Here are some of their reactions.

Caleb Todd (FHU student): AMC is one of the best, if not the best, domestic mission campaign effort that I have seen. It is organized with the goal that every member in the church has a place in God‘s will and mission. It is hard to get a congregation to buy into this idea, but it is beautiful to see what can happen when they do. If you are wondering what it looks like, I highly recommend you look into the School of Evangelism and how it has helped many great congregations to add to the Lord’s church instead of reducing their numbers on the board. Numbers have never been the only focus, but it is beautiful to see just how many souls we can reach when we approach it with love.”

Dawson Barnett (FHU student): “This week has been awesome! During this mission trip we had over 1,578 cards made, three baptisms, and over 2,237 doors knocked. We talked to more than 611 people and had more than seven Bible studies. We had more than 40 people show up for the community meal. This week has been such a blessing for all of us at FHU; we are learning how to evangelize with House to House, and it has been an amazing experience. Keep the two churches we worked with in your prayers: Waldorf church of Christ and La Plata church of Christ as they continue to evangelize in their community.”

Elizabeth LeLand (FHU student): “I am so thankful I got to work with this team last week. I learned a lot and hope to start applying it here at home. I hope everyone can catch up on a little more rest this week. Thank you all for the good work you are doing! Glory to God that when we plant, He gives the increase!”

Too much evangelism has become trendy, edgy, flashy, and focused on externals. Evangelism must follow the one who commissioned it. We will never come up with anything more effective than what He provided. We want to recognize these students for their servant hearts and incredible work ethic. They sacrificed their personal time and vacation time, and they gave their all to the Kingdom. They greatly encouraged the Saints, and they provided hope to older Christians who had given up on the younger members. Our goal is to continue developing AMC to be more and more like Jesus. We hope you will join us for our next campaign in Roanoke, Texas, as we conduct our second this year.

Congregational Reports

Glencoe church of Christ, Alabama: Keith Ritchie (evangelist) reports, “The Glencoe congregation had a spectacular Sunday with a good number of visitors! We had a special day for our families with children with special needs. We made six contacts, two of which asked to know more about the church. One of the parents had a marvelous idea for using this as an evangelistic outreach next year. The wheels are turning with ideas and possibilities. We have an upcoming men’s breakfast devotional scheduled for this coming Saturday morning. Lord willing, more doors will be opened. Keeping a good outreach table is imperative to the work of evangelism. Materials must be placed where members can easily access what is needed to make the work successful. Keeping bulletins and issues of HTH up to date is a must.  The month of March brought us 59 visitors, 21 prospects, 253 compassion cards sent out, 61 visits made, and two Bible studies. Let’s keep singing the song, ‘To The Work, To The Work’, and let us do it with all we have within us!”

Hatton church of Christ, Town Creek, Alabama: Chris Miller (preacher) reports, “Like many congregations, we are prepping for Lads to Leaders. We are also balancing our very active evangelism, card ministry, service projects, and vision for always looking for another way to teach. We currently have a new visitor who has been coming to every service by himself, and we plan to have a study with him soon. He seems extremely open.”

Central church of Christ, Saraland, Alabama: David Dixon (preacher) reports, “Yesterday was a great day for us at Central. It was our Friends and Family day, and we held an Egg Hunt for the little ones. We intentionally focused on using it as an evangelism tool. We had about 25 visitors, most of them family, and most of them stayed for the Egg Hunt. It was invigorating to see so many children bustling about! We had a fellowship meal with a great spread of food and great attendance from our visitors. These visitors have all become prospects for us. Several of them indicated they would be returning! Additionally, we did have one name turned in as a contact. We all signed cards and will be following up this week! We will pray for fruit!”

Cedar Grove church of Christ, Andalusia, Alabama: Josh Halloway (preacher) reports, “This week, we conducted five Bible studies, and currently we have eight ongoing regular studies. We continued our evangelism efforts through cards, transition visits, and other outreach contacts. We are thankful for the continued opportunities and ask for prayers as these efforts grow.”

Petersville church of Christ, Florence, Alabama: Adam Richardson (preacher) reports, “Petersville sent 48 compassion cards last week, and we had two Bible studies. On Sunday, there were another two responses from the congregation of sweet ladies trying to be stronger in their faith. A newer member brought his agnostic friend to Bible class on Wednesday, and they stayed for an extended conversation afterward. We appreciate prayers that this contact turns into a committed student!”

Creekwood church of Christ, Mobile, Alabama: Tucker Presley (preacher) reports, “The work continues. Compassion cards are going out each week. Visits are being made to those on the compassion card list. New Mover baskets are going out each month. One Bible study is going on. Hopefully, more will come soon.”

Harrisburg church of Christ, Arkansas: Mark Weston (elder) reports, “March has come and gone, and we have seen how important it is to be involved in evangelism. Our Accountability Board for March shows how busy it has been. We had 17 visitors in our assembly for the month. Not all of them are prospects, but all of them were welcomed by members who expressed their love and appreciation for their presence.  It was certainly good to have all of them visit with us.  Our Compassion Card teams sent out a total of 443 cards in March. Some are showing appreciation, hearts were touched, and that is what we were striving to do. We have been working on 18 prospects this month, and this week, we finished on ten of our wayward members. We will attempt to make some visits and hopefully can begin some communications to get them to return to the fold. Two visits were made this month, and they were met with great acceptance. We are hoping to schedule a Bible study soon with one of those. We began a Gospel Meeting yesterday with Brother Barry Odell from Mammoth Springs, Arkansas. We had a few visitors and are hoping some from our community will come out and hear the Word being preached. We plan to gather more prospects from our members on Wednesday evening and will begin next Sunday with compassion cards for them. All in all, it has been a great month! We will continue to pray that God will send the increase!”

Northside church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Larry Keener (elder) reports, “This week, we continued our work with our plans for the Northside church. Our first compassion cards will soon be sent. We reviewed our bookmarks and prayed for those at the beginning of worship. We are also planning a new members’ luncheon in the upcoming week. We appreciate all prayers for our success to glorify God and grow His Kingdom.”

Bergman church of Christ, Harrison, Arkansas: Vince Stewart (preacher) reports, “Last Tuesday, we (my wife Tiffany and I, with my daughter and her boyfriend) sat at the dining table and had a Bible study with my daughter’s boyfriend on Book 2. We first ate pizza and ordered his favorite. It was a very successful evening; he said he enjoyed the study so much because it was finally making sense to him. His mother and her family are Pentecostal, and she said he cannot get baptized until he turns 18. We are trying to figure out how to handle this situation. He is afraid that if she found out he was baptized, she would not let him see my daughter anymore. I do believe he will want to be baptized right after he finishes the third book. We finished Part 2 of John 4, and everybody now has a bookmark and should have it filled in. Yesterday, we handed out a few more who were not here last Sunday, and we started doing our one-minute prayer. Next week, we begin prospecting. We now have a team of four ladies to start sending compassion cards. They are now in the process of going shopping to make the gift baskets for visitors and such. They have their workroom all set up to start working. I have asked them to at least make a couple of baskets now, so they will be ready for our next visitor who comes through the doors. In addition, our evangelism table is still in the works, the table cover is on its way, and as soon as it is finished, I will send a picture. I do not remember if I mentioned that the model posters are framed, and both are hung in the highest traffic areas; one is above the table.”

Mountain Home church of Christ, Arkansas: Joshua Adams (preacher) reports, “This past week, we were blessed to witness the culmination of several studies as two individuals—Rachel Bipes and Sawyer Douglas—put on Christ in baptism.

Rachel had been studying for some time with one of our sisters. Like many we study with, she understood what she needed to do but initially hesitated. In time, however, she made the decision to follow through in faith. Her journey is a powerful reminder of the importance of patience and persistence—continuing with people even after a “Back to the Bible” study is complete can bear real fruit.

Sawyer’s story is especially encouraging. About a year ago, following our seminar with HTHSOE, a couple in the congregation began faithfully bringing three young boys to our services each week. Sawyer, the oldest, had just joined the youth group at that time. Since then, all three boys have taken their faith seriously and shown steady growth. Recently, Sawyer expressed a desire to be baptized and studied with our youth minister as well as the couple who has been bringing him. Last Wednesday night, he made that decision. We’re also excited to see the continued growth in his two younger brothers.

We also held our 12-month review with Rob last week. He introduced several new tools to help us keep building an evangelistic culture. The growth we’ve experienced since enrolling in HTHSOE has been remarkable, and it’s encouraging to reflect on how far the congregation has come.

Margaret Street church of Christ, Milton, Florida: Troy Spradlin (preacher) reports, “One of our most evangelistic families has been out of the loop for a little while because they recently had their first child. The other day, I received a text from them asking, ‘Have we really had so few Bible studies this year?’ I replied, ‘Unfortunately, yes.’ Many of our families have been more focused on Lads to Leaders than on evangelism. The efforts of this couple drove our numbers higher last year. After the convention, Casey and I are going to do some refresher lessons on evangelism. They will help wherever they can. Next to someone stating that they are ready to be baptized, I do not think there are any more encouraging words to fall on a preacher’s ears! Our total 2026 Accountability Board numbers are: 84 Contacts Received; 40 Neighbors (Prospects); 350 Compassion Cards sent; nine Bible studies; one Restoration, and three Baptisms.”

Stuart church of Christ, Florida: Tom Neth (deacon) reports, “God continues to bless the Stuart church of Christ in powerful ways. This week, we rejoice in two additional baptisms. Robert Rogers and Astrid Shipley were both baptized after studying with one of our members. With these additions, we have been blessed with six baptisms year-to-date. We were also encouraged by ten first-time visitors who joined us for worship this week, reflecting continued outreach momentum and community interest. Our efforts remain active and focused. We have two ongoing Bible studies, we will continue card writing and follow-up, and we will visit with prospects. We are grateful for the growth we are seeing—both in numbers and in spiritual engagement—and we remain committed to faithfully building on this momentum.”

Niceville church of Christ, Florida: Joe Palmer (preacher) reports, “This week we had a Greeters and Engagers meeting. It was attended by about 40 of our members. We discussed the strategies and methods of being a greeter. We shared how to identify whether a local visitor is seeking spiritual guidance. We identified a few needs and strategies that we plan to implement. It was a good meeting, and we had new members and new Christians in attendance; they talked and shared how the congregation has made a difference in their lives. We had one study this week and mailed 32 cards. We had no new visitors this week.”

Milestone church of Christ, Cantonment, Florida: Randy Brantley (elder) reports, “We are continuing training. We will be finishing two Bible studies this week, both of which are looking very promising. We had one restoration. Members are still excited to be able to participate in the evangelistic program. We have eight prospects.”

Cartersville church of Christ, Cartersville, Georgia (remote): Charles Harris (regional trainer) reports, “This week, five transition visits will be made. On Sunday, we baptized Beth. We were introduced to her by one of our new converts.”

Warner Robins church of Christ, Georgia: Damien Walker (evangelist) reports, “We are continuing to see our accountability board numbers go up. We just completed our first phase of congregational training, which included several evangelistic sermons and instruction on using congregational evangelism materials over an eight-week period. We are beginning Phase 2, which means that over the next eight weeks, we will equip and train our transition team and ensure our processes are consistent and working well.”

Lafayette church of Christ, Georgia: Jesse Teague (deacon) reports, “We have had a good week at Lafayette. We had several visitors on Sunday for worship and at our monthly fellowship meal. It is always a good time to invite someone to visit! We also had a young lady who was raised in the church come forward during the invitation; she is unsure about her salvation. She was baptized at a young age and had doubts. After some discussion with our minister, she decided to eliminate any doubt and was baptized into Christ. Praise the Lord!”

Gray church of Christ, Georgia (remote): Keith Dixon (preacher) reports, “I am at the Memphis School of Preaching lectureship this week. Here are the numbers from last week. We sent out ten cards and had one Bible study. We also have five prospects. To God be the Glory.”

Woodstock church of Christ, Georgia: Matt Amos (preacher) reports, “Woodstock church of Christ (WCOC) and the Sunabella Assistant Living Facility devotional had approximately six non-Christians at the devotional on Sunday. Last Friday, we conducted a Bible study session with 14 non-Christians from this facility. The New Movers Group Door Knocking Campaign knocked on six doors and delivered two baskets. The Compassion Card Group created and sent eighteen cards. We had five visitors this past Sunday. WCOC had fourteen Bible studies.”

Honolulu church of Christ, Hawaii: Tagiliima Esene (regional trainer) reports, “Aloha from our congregation. One soul, Larry, obeyed the Gospel last week, March 24, 2026. We currently have five souls in Bible studies. One soul is being prospected and likely will be in a study soon. We are also preparing to reach out to the families impacted by the flooding in a way that meets their needs and provides an open door for the Word of God. To God be the glory!”

Harrisburg church of Christ, Illinois (remote): Doug Berry (preacher) reports, “We are sending out cards this week to five people that are contacts but not new movers. We have two ongoing Bible studies. This past Sunday evening, I taught about how to use the first lesson of Back to the Bible. We are doing a good job of following up on contacts. Each Sunday morning, we have a special prayer time for evangelism.”

Collinsville-Troy church of Christ, Illinois: Jason Wright (evangelist) reports, “What a week it was at AMC Maryland! I am back home and settling in. On Sunday, Ryler was baptized into Christ. She is the daughter of Tim and Ranna. They, along with their son Ryker, were baptized last week. All glory to God! That makes six for this year, with more to come. Multiple studies are planned for this week. Last week, we mailed out 121 compassion cards and handed out two visitor bags. One of the visitors was a new mover. We gave him a gift at the door and invited him to services, and he showed up—simple!”

Center Point Road church of Christ, Marion, Iowa (remote): John McGiffin (preacher) reports, “About 250 visited the booth. We handed out postcards to the Bible Lands Museum, Pray Over Iowa, and, of course, invitation cards. We did not have any Bible studies, but we had a prayer request that we will give to a congregation in Minnesota. When it was slow, we talked to other vendors. Many said they were looking for a church.”

Columbus church of Christ, Kansas: Matt Fowler (member) reports, “We saw some fruit from the invitation card challenge we had issued. We had been praying for some visitors to take us up on our offer, and on Sunday, we had five who came for worship. Two of them were fellow teachers with me at school. The other three were high school students whom one of our new converts, Dom, brought along with him. I preached a sermon on the one true church of the New Testament. We will be sending them cards in the coming weeks, thanking them for their visit. We appreciate all prayers for our efforts as we pray for others.”

Beloit church of Christ, Kansas (remote): Dustin Dougherty (regional trainer) reports, “Yesterday following services, my wife and I took two of the new movers baskets that we had made up to the two contacts we had for the month of March. We had one spaghetti basket and one laundry basket. Both of the recipients were very happy. The one who received the laundry basket was very surprised by the gesture. To God be the glory.”

Spring Creek church of Christ, Hickory, Kentucky: David Morse (elder) reports, “Greetings from the Spring Creek congregation. This past Sunday, Samuel concluded a 4-week series focused on evangelism taken from the book of Jonah. His lessons were on point as always. Our ‘Blue Group’ wrote compassion cards this week. We have not added many Bible studies over the last few weeks, but we are excited that we have a new mover couple who have agreed to have a study with us (not reflected in our numbers this week). We hope that our first study will take place this coming Saturday. Our leadership team continues to meet each Wednesday before our mid-week service. Our numbers for the week:  Visitors: 17, Prospects: 21, Cards Sent: 1,958, Bible studies: two, Baptisms: five, and Baptism Goal: seven.”

Flatwoods church of Christ, Kentucky: Nathan Adkins (elder) reports, “On Sunday morning, we had another soul obey the Gospel. Randal responded to the invitation and was baptized into Christ.  That makes seven new souls so far this year. On Saturday, we had a community egg hunt and free portraits. It was well attended, and we got 24 new contacts. We started a New Convert’s class that is well attended and very encouraging for us to see the babes in Christ excited. We also had a new Bible study on Friday with some teens whose parents were baptized last month. We are in the process of follow-up visits with several of our prospects. We prepared 11 cards to be sent this week. Thirty-one of our members went to the nursing home yesterday, and it was a blessing for them and us.”

Central church of Christ, Paducah, Kentucky: Adam Faughn (preacher) reports, “A couple of follow-up visits were made this past week, and we were blessed with at least three local guests at our worship Sunday morning. I also want to mention that Shawn Podgorski, who was recently baptized, met with the elders and ‘officially’ was added to the church at Central. He is truly an encourager, and we are blessed to have him as part of our family. This week, our elders are going to spend one entire meeting dealing with just two issues, the main one being local evangelism. We ask for prayers as we do a lot of evaluation and planning, and we hope to continue from this meeting some good things into the near and distant future.”

Gonzales church of Christ, Louisiana: Ben Vallery (deacon) reports, “Our New Convert classes continue on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. Fifth Sundays in Gonzales are used as make-up days for our card program, as an effort to encourage those who may have missed any previous opportunities. We have struggled some this month, sending fewer cards than normal. We plan to provide some additional encouragement to our members as we prepare to adjust course in April.”

Carriage Oaks church of Christ, Bossier City, Louisiana (remote): Daniel Foster (coordinator) reports, “Our young adults group that meets once per month had two baptisms in March 2026. That brings our total to three since we began meeting last summer. Emma Foster and Denver Blackman, both 18-years-old, made the wonderful decision to obey the Gospel. We will continue training and practicing BTTB for the April meeting. We have several studies either planned or in progress! We appreciate continual prayers for our group in the Ark-La-Tex area!”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Maryland: Will Brown (evangelist) reports, “The congregation in Aberdeen, Maryland continues to grow. Noah is a part of the church youth group. He studied with his Dad. He heard many sermons and decided to obey the Gospel. We are all encouraged by his good example. We have five ongoing studies and one community contact. We also have regional trainer Eric Sykes set to help refresh our evangelism efforts in May. We appreciate prayers for the success of our efforts.”

Plainview church of Christ, Fulton, Mississippi: Tom House (preacher) reports, “I had another Bible study earlier this week using Back to the Bible. He is a family member who has no biblical background whatsoever. He is making wonderful progress. He is finding the study logical. It takes a little longer since he does not know much about others’ views, which I normally would not address, because it might confuse him, but it is better to hear it from me than someone else. The format works well because he reads the text, the questions, and then answers them. Because he reads the verses, he gets to listen to himself, which is more convincing. I have every confidence he will obey.”

Fulton church of Christ, Mississippi: Richard Comer (deacon) reports, “We have two ongoing Bible studies, and we are planning visits. The prospect list has ten on it. We continue to have visitors that members have invited.”

Aberdeen church of Christ, Mississippi: MT Wilemon (elder) reports, “Our next cycle of compassion cards is being sent out, and then we will make transition visits to continue building on these relationships. Jonathan Hagar, our preacher, has been in Maryland this past week for the American Mission Campaign with the School of Evangelism. In Jonathan’s absence, we had Dylan Cooper fill the pulpit Sunday morning, and he did an excellent job. He is a young man who was a part of our youth group growing up, and it is a blessing to see his continued service to the Lord. Ernie Allmond, a deacon, preached the evening service and also did a great job. We are blessed to have capable men who can fill the pulpit when needed. No new Bible studies conducted this week, but we are hopeful we will start new ones shortly. We are planning a community event this Saturday with an Easter egg hunt for the children. We will use this to glean some additional contacts from our community and will hopefully have the opportunity to share the Gospel with them at some point.”

Oak Grove church of Christ, Missouri: David Wiesemann (elder) reports, “Our renewed focus on evangelism has been very rewarding. On Sunday, we had seven visitors. Two of them are unfaithful members who have not been in attendance for years. They have recently been receiving compassion cards. We sent 44 compassion cards last week. On Sunday, we also set up one Bible study, and we may be close to a second one.”

Concord church of Christ, New Hampshire (remote): Terry Hale (evangelist) reports, “We are thankful to introduce our new brother in Christ. Carl obeyed the Gospel after using the tool Back to the Bible to guide his study of God’s word. We also had three new visitors on Sunday and two repeat visitors. One of the repeat visitors has agreed to sit and open God’s word after being prospected. It was such a pleasure watching members on Sunday work through the training and receive contact information, and watching our visitors being treated as our honored guests and looking so comfortable being with us. To God be the glory.”

East Flushing church of Christ, New York (remote): Clarence Jenkins (preacher) reports, “Along with our current regular evangelistic efforts and trainings, we the brethren first are focusing on the reaching out to and the keeping part of those we reach, as that need is reflected in the number of members we have in our New Convert’s class as compared to the number of baptisms we have had. Our metrics thus far through and for March 2026 are two baptisms, 12 visitors, nine Bible studies, and one in our New Convert’s class. We appreciate all prayers. Thanks in advance for all of the encouragement.”

Abilene church of Christ, Statesville, North Carolina (remote): Gary Dull (minister) reports, “D’Lea McDaniel and Deborah Dull are continuing their study with Shelly. They have started Book 3 of Back to the Bible. It has all been very positive. On Friday, they start a new study with Glenora, who has been visiting for several months.”

Oak Forest church of Christ, Goldsboro, North Carolina: Dennis Mays (elder) reports, “We did not do compassion cards this Sunday, as this was the Fifth Sunday. The elders have been writing cards to Christians who have fallen away. Two families have begun coming again. One of the families has agreed to start a Bible study. The young man is a relatively new Christian and has many questions, and he will benefit from going through Back to the Bible courses. Please pray for the success of this study. We had nine visitors during our Sunday morning worship and one on Sunday evening. This was a young man who is now stationed at the Air Base here. One of our younger families will be setting up a visit at their home for a family that has received compassion cards. We are praying that this will lead to a Bible study. Our door greeters and pew greeters are doing a great job. They have met for a couple of training sessions, and this has prepared them to carry out their responsibilities as visitors come. We should be starting our HTH mailings soon, and will target people moving into our community. We will get our gift baskets ready to welcome people moving here and to make them aware of our congregation. On April 19, we will meet with members who said they want to plan and implement community involvement activities so people in our community will learn more about Oak Forest church of Christ. We ask for prayers regarding our evangelism efforts, that they will yield growth for God as people begin to understand their need to become God’s children.”

Glendale Street church of Christ, Newton, North Carolina (remote): Dayle Taylor (preacher) reports, “Prospects: We are happy to report that Brittany is no longer a prospect, as she was baptized into Christ on March 27, 2026. Brittany is the first baptism of the year for Glendale Street. However, we are encouraged that she will not be the only one. We rejoice with the angels in Heaven and with the universal body of Christ that a lost soul is now found Amari, a returning prospect and the daughter of our new converts from December 2025, began her first study with Denise on Sunday, using Book 1 of Back to the Bible (BTTB). Denise shared that Amari is energized, inquisitive, and hungry to learn about God. At only 16-years-old, she has expressed a sincere desire to learn of the Lord. May her heart continue to grow tender toward the way of truth as the studies progress. New Converts: All of our new converts were present for Sunday morning Bible study and worship, including Brittany and her young daughters. Brittany will join the studies, How to Study the Bible Properly by David Pratte in our Wednesday night sessions, focusing on the importance of using sound methods when studying Scripture. In addition, she will study the devotionals, The First Forty Days in the Wilderness. Restoration: One of the restored members continues to attend Sunday services faithfully. One of our erring young brothers seeks the prayers of the church and cites his intention toward restoration. We continue to pray and help all the erring who are reachable, and encourage the faithful restoration of the family. Visitor Follow-Up: During this reporting period, twenty compassion cards were sent.”

New Concord church of Christ, Ohio: Terry Townsend (preacher) reports, “We had a successful ‘All Attend Day’ on Sunday! It was our largest crowd post-COVID. We had several first-time visitors, as well as several members who have not been present in quite some time. Contacts were made, gift bags were handed out to our visitors, and prodigals were welcomed and embraced with loving arms. Follow-up visits will soon be made. Only one Bible study is currently going on. Randy, who recently obeyed the Gospel, received his certificate on Sunday (we generally give all our new converts a Bible, but he already had one). We plan to get him something else that will help him in his faith.”

Alkire Road church of Christ, Grove City, Ohio: Tony Dunnagan (member) reports, “We have worked hard after AMC last year, following up with all the contacts. We are now focused on implementing the HTHSOE congregational model. Our evangelism table is completed. Tim finished our accountability board, and Lou finished framing our poster. We had 16 visitors, and five were from out of town. The remaining 11 are returning visitors. We have one potential Bible study. We sent 67 compassion cards.”

Grove church of Christ, Oklahoma: Juan Jarmillo (preacher) reports, “This past week we made a lot of progress! We set up our accountability board, and we can see our statistics. We have finished our three-part sermons on John 4 and finished book one of BTTB in the evening. Lord willing, on Wednesday, we will finish it in the teens class. We have five Bible studies ongoing (one of our members is doing three, another is doing one, and, including the teens’ class, there are a few), so we ask for prayers for these. We have filled out contact cards and will begin writing compassion cards to these prospects next Sunday, Lord willing! We have also had many visitors come, so we know the Lord wishes to answer our prayers for opportunities. We appreciate all prayers for us and our efforts!”

Guymon church of Christ, Oklahoma: Chandler Henderson (preacher) reports, “This last week we were excited to hand out our third bulletin as we recognized our latest convert. We have been giving an Apologetics Press study Bible to each new convert. We hand them out on Sunday morning after the announcements. We all gather at the front of the building surrounding the new convert as each of our three elders says a prayer of growth for them. On Sunday afternoon, the elders and deacons met to finalize our coordinators’ list and to give instructions on each role. We came up with a list of items to be put in our visitor bags, and also in our new mover baskets. Over the next two weeks, each coordinator will be choosing members to fill their teams and begin training them on their respective roles. Next Sunday, we will be starting a New Converts’ class; we will go through ‘Growing in Christ.’ We had 14 visitors last Sunday. We also have six prospects and two Bible studies. We have written 52 cards to be sent out over the next three weeks, and we have three transition visits planned for the 12th-18th of April.”

Barnes church of Christ, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: John Bellah (member) reports, “We are taking a break from our training schedule the next few weeks for a guest speaker and Fifth Sunday singing. We will have several vacations next week, our 36th annual lectureship the following week, and just getting everyone settled in to compassion cards, but the work did not stop. To date, we have sent over 100 cards and added more yesterday to be mailed this week. We had one couple that we have been sending cards to visit this week, and we will continue to encourage them. All those receiving compassion cards so far have acknowledged receiving them and expressed their appreciation for the prayers and well-wishes. Also, a dear sister designed and printed some small invitation cards to hand out, and a few of our ladies wanted to make ‘custom’ visitor bags; they spent Saturday morning sewing them together to give visitors with something extra special. We are very close to passing the torch to more individuals to work with compassion cards and our bookmark prayer time, which is now becoming a regular occurrence during our worship assembly. Our spirit is high, and much work is being done, but there is more to do!”

Owasso church of Christ, Oklahoma: David Combs (elder) reports, “We had a great worship service yesterday! Following our morning worship, Tim, our Spark plug, showed us our final year-to-date for our first year in the program; it is on the stat board below. He gave an overall view and led us in prayer for our continued success. We broke for lunch and had our Fifth Sunday potluck and enjoyed good food and fellowship. On Sunday evening, following worship, Group 5 met to write cards. Fifteen writers wrote 62 cards to be mailed out this week.”

Coweta church of Christ, Oklahoma: Keno Shrum (regional trainer) reports, “On Sunday, we had a young lady visit. We took her out to lunch afterwards. She came back Sunday evening and said she really enjoyed the service. She expressed interest in a Bible study. Houston is working on scheduling that. She said she would like to visit again and bring her family. She said her family attends a Baptist church, but she felt they would like our congregation. She has three teen siblings and her parents, so we are praying for an opportunity to study with the whole family. We will start sending compassion cards this week.”

York church of Christ, Pennsylvania: Mark Rashke (deacon) reports, “This week, attendance was in the 50’s in York, as we were missing some regulars. However, it was nice to see some folks that we have not usually been seeing. Some who usually only come on Sunday evenings were present for morning Bible class, some were repeat visitors, and some are back after absences. I can feel that our members are growing spiritually, as they try to step into their new roles with greeting, praying, and encouraging. We also sent cards this week to our recent new visitor.”

St. Andrews Road church of Christ, Columbia, South Carolina: Jamie Byrom (preacher) reports, “This past Sunday, we continued the congregational training for Bible studies with the sermon Back to the Bible (Book 1, Part 3). We wrote 60 compassion cards. Two contact cards were turned in for new visitors. One member concluded studies with a prospect in Believe the Bible and is transitioning to the Back to the Bible study booklets. There continues to be one member in the New Converts’ class.”

Corinth church of Christ, Portland, Tennessee: James Parker (elder) reports, “Since the first of the year, we have had four baptisms and one restoration at Corinth! Steve Hall worked with a couple of our 20-something-year-olds, and he was also studying with another young man! I studied with a young married couple for three months, and they were baptized in January! We keep looking for people who will study will us!”

Cookeville church of Christ, Tennessee: Josh Kennedy (evangelist) reports, “Recently, we have had two studies with the first Back to the Bible complete. We had four prospects, and we sent 21 cards last week! Praying all goes well!”

McEwen church of Christ, Tennessee: Jonthan Jones (evangelist) reports, “We are starting the third study with a new group of linemen. We are hoping for some baptisms soon. We also have one member who is starting a new study with her neighbor. We will continue updates, especially with the above considerations in mind.”

Birdwell Chapel church of Christ, Cottontown, Tennessee: Kerry England (elder) reports, “Our annual Easter egg hunt was Sunday afternoon before services. We had a couple of families visit from the community. We will work to grow these contacts into prospects. It was very encouraging to see our new brother Scott and his family there getting involved in the work right away. Last night, a young man, Aidan Richardson, delivered our lesson. Several family members and friends were present to hear his message. He did an excellent job! He was baptized a couple of years ago, and it has been wonderful to see him grow in Christ! He is such an encouragement to us!”

Collierville church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Evergarden (evangelist) reports, “Our current year-to-date numbers are 11 new visitors, 377 cards sent, five visits made, 25 prospects, one Bible study, no baptisms, and 27 baskets delivered. The visits this week went very well, and we were especially encouraged to be invited into one home, where we sat and talked with them for about an hour. That visit helped build a stronger connection, and we now have a play date planned in two weeks with our 9-month-old, Laios, and their children. We are hopeful that this relationship will continue to develop and lead to a Bible study. We are thankful for the progress being made and encouraged by the doors that continue to open.”

Hillcrest church of Christ, Springfield, Tennessee: Tim Taylor (evangelist) reports, “After visiting at Hillcrest for the past several weeks, both Sundays and Wednesdays, Nick and his wife Brandy were baptized into Christ on Thursday! Nick is the former coworker of Hayden, who invited him to attend Bible study and worship with us. Hayden’s efforts led to a study of Back to the Bible, resulting in the conversion of two precious souls. Additionally, Nick and Brandy are eager to go through Back to the Bible with their daughter! Praise God that Hayden invited a friend to come to worship!”

White Bluff church of Christ, Tennessee: Shamron Jackson (elder) reports, “It was a great week. We had another baptism; Norma Mayer obeyed the Gospel. One of our visitors, who has never been baptized, came up after the service and wants to study the Bible. We had ten visitors. We are trying to schedule more training for visitor teams and transition visits. Keno will be here from April 21 to 24. We are looking forward to that.”

Freewill church of Christ, Gainesboro, Tennessee (remote): Andrew Scott (preacher) reports, “Here is our update for our evangelism efforts. We sent out another round of cards to one of our prospects. He is a college student and recovering from surgery. We hope to be an encouragement to him and invite him to services soon. Lord willing, we will be back in the church building this coming Sunday. It was so encouraging to read all of the excellent reports from AMC. We are praying for all of them.”

West Sparta church of Christ, Tennessee: Justin Turney (deacon) reports, “Right now we have one Bible study. We have sent over 150 cards, and we have ten prospects. We hope to have a Bible study with one couple; they have come every Sunday for about a month and a half. They have not agreed to lunch or a Bible study yet (not sure why). But they keep coming back! Hopefully, we will soon be able to meet with them.”

Chapel Hill church of Christ, Tennessee: Matt Jones (deacon) reports, “We continue to welcome visitors and follow-up with them. Our card-writing teams are doing a great job. We continue to pray for several Bible studies that are still ongoing. We have four right now. Overall, things are still going well.”

Mountain Creek church of Christ, Chattanooga, Tennessee: Michael Tomshack (elder) reports, “Two Sundays ago, a man entered our building and was greeted by our door greeters, pew greeters, and other members of the congregation. This past Sunday, he returned, and people remembered his name and greeted him again. He moved to Chattanooga three years ago and recently moved close to our building. Because he passes our building almost daily, he decided to give us a try. He is impressed by the congregation’s friendliness and enjoys the smaller size, noting that it was easy for him to be overlooked in larger churches. Yesterday, we were having a special fellowship meal after assembly, and he stayed. Gary Massey, Elder and Minister, also spoke with him and learned that his sister-in-law is in the terminal phase of cancer. He gave Gary her phone number along with his. Lord willing, this will lead to two studies very soon. Additionally, two other visitors yesterday for our ‘Invite Young Families Day’ expressed interest in studying with Gary. Once again, regardless of a congregation’s size, having an efficient greeting program in place is crucial. We are thankful to God for Deena Hixson, who plays. Key role.  The Greeting program is an important first step. The old saying, ‘People do not care what you know until they know you care,’ is particularly applicable to a focused greeting program.”

Soddy church of Christ, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee: Joe Mallory (preacher) reports, “We are excited to announce that our dear friend Tyler L. obeyed the Gospel on Thursday afternoon, being baptized into Christ! We rejoice with Heaven at the decision he has made to put on Christ, with his sins washed away by the blood of Christ (Acts 22:16)! Please pray for Tyler as he begins his walk in Christ, and for us as we have the privilege to walk alongside him in the light. We continue striving with prayerful evangelistic effort in reaching out to our prospects as well as many in our community. Our prayer is to plan upcoming transitional meetings with those who have received compassion cards from us. What a joy it is to see the wonderful fruit from the AMC campaign! Prayers were lifted up for the souls that were found.”

Rome church of Christ, Lebanon, Tennessee (remote): David Oxley reports, “We have two Bible studies planned for this week. We will also meet for our New Convert’s class on Monday. We had one baptism this week, coming from a Bible study.”

Arlington church of Christ, Tennessee: Brandon Tibbits (preacher) reports, “We just had our egg hunt at church following our luncheon day, and we framed it as an evangelistic effort. We had about 80 in attendance, so about 20 or so visitors were there when I preached a Gospel sermon ‘for the preaching of the cross!’ We are getting ready to do our new movers list for the month and to make a new effort to get more contacts.”

Rivergate church of Christ, Madison, Tennessee: Doug Tooley (preacher) reports, “We had three visitors on Wednesday night. We had six visitors on Sunday morning. We had three more on Sunday night and two at a youth devotional Sunday evening. Two visits were made.”

Eisenhower church of Christ, Odessa, Texas: Alan Weakland (elder) reports, “This past week started off with a bang.   We received a phone call from a member of another congregation who was requesting to use our baptismal on Monday night.  Upon arrival, we came to know that Phil and Tracy, former members, had received a request from both of their adult kids to be baptized.  Tracy’s granddad studied with the two of them, and they both were immersed in the watery grave, arising in newness of life.  What a way to begin the week. We are still being blessed with several couples visiting our AM Worship Service – five studies are actively occurring, and our New Converts’ class is a full go.  In fact, due to this effort, one couple has been displaying growth.  Micah actually led our closing prayer Sunday evening and did an amazing job. His prayer was full of insight, devotion, and praise. We are deeply proud of his effort and his maturation in faith. We have received several requests concerning our summer series for 2026. The theme is focused on the home. As a result, some of the requests are from the community – may God provide us the chance to build a relationship with these families and give us the opportunity to study with them.”

Southwest church of Christ, Austin, Texas: Bryce Mayfield (evangelist) reports, “It is wonderful to hear about the success in Maryland. We continue to pray for the work of evangelism here in America! This morning, we had an evangelism outreach day. We knocked on 180 doors, received 32 responses, and made one good contact. We also attempted to deliver 15 new mover baskets, but only one was home. We will continue to work this method once a quarter. We have four Bible studies that are ongoing. We also have some new converts who will soon ‘graduate’ from the program. This is really exciting both for us and them. We are also writing cards for two wayward members, praying that they will come home. Also, I have been working to get Social Media involved in our evangelism program here at Southwest. It seems to be a growing and effective tool in our society. More on that in future reports.”

Centerville Road church of Christ, Garland, Texas: Alan Stevens (elder) reports, “We are continuing to pursue the 14 contacts on our prospect list; 165 cards were sent this past week. We took a pause this week in the training lessons for a guest speaker as part of our normal Fifth Sunday schedule. Brother John Ratliff brought us three excellent lessons on the distinction of the church.”

Roanoke church of Christ, Texas: Caleb Rutherford (preacher) reports, “Impact Sunday was this past weekend. Five groups went out and delivered new mover baskets. I know of at least two contact cards that were generated, and possibly more. Three transition visits are being made this week as well. We hope those generate Bible studies! We continue to prepare for our hosting of AMC. We cannot wait to serve the Lord in that capacity!”

Bridgewater church of Christ, Katy, Texas: Doug Suggs (deacon) reports, “Our Super Sunday with Glenn Colley brought 124 souls together to worship our God. We got a few names that we will be sending cards to. Many stayed for our meal. (Picture) We continue to study with Jesse.”

Lake Country church of Christ, Burnet, Texas: Alex Simmons (preacher) reports, “This past week, we had our evangelism meeting to assign coordinators and have a plan in place going forward. We have also begun praying weekly for those on our bookmarks. This Sunday, Lord willing, we will gather our first group of prospects and start sending cards.”

Wheeler church of Christ, Texas: Garrett English (preacher) reports, “We made a contact last Monday who was interested in a Bible study, so we set up a study and continued daily with him, with the final study being Sunday afternoon. He saw that he was not baptized scripturally, and an elder baptized him into Christ that very hour! We have a study with him again today to help his discipleship journey. I also checked with the visitor to Wheeler from last week, and he said he would be willing to study with me when I return.”

Stratford church of Christ, Texas: Chad Thies (preacher) reports, “We knocked approximately 120 doors, which gave us one benevolence opportunity. We have eight contacts and one visitor. We have 12 prospects and currently four Bible studies going. We are continuing in the curriculum, and we have two New Convert classes on Sunday morning and one on Wednesday evening.”

San Saba church of Christ, Texas: Justin Bell (preacher) reports, “We currently have seven Bible studies and eight prospects. I made two transition visits this past week. One did not result in a study, but the other wished to meet again this week. Hopefully, we can have one more Bible study added to the list. Logan (baptized last week) has been growing and enjoying the New Convert class. We are continuing to train and grow in the evangelism model and are implementing more and more of the model each week.”

North Jefferson church of Christ, Mt. Pleasant, Texas: Davin Whatley (evangelist) reports, “Sunday was a wonderful day! We had our first baptism of 2026 when Pollyanna Troyer decided to be baptized in Christ. Pollyanna and her husband, Ben, have been studying with one of our elders, Garth Johnson, and yesterday they finished Book 3. Ben did not make the same decision, but hopefully he will in time! We still have four other ongoing studies, and I will be studying Book 1 with Estaban on Tuesday and Book 3 with the Williamsons on Tuesday evening. We appreciate prayers for the Williamsons.”

Colleyville church of Christ, Texas: John Garza (regional trainer) reports, “This last weekend, we did our first ‘Word on the Streets.’ It was a great success, in our opinion. Typically, we do a Gospel Meeting during this time of the year, but this year, we decided to do this instead for a fraction of the cost. We ordered 100 Bibles from Apologetics Press, and we set up at a park where many softball and baseball games were being played. Nothing crazy! Just a table, a tent, and a sign that said, “Free Bibles.” Many people loved that we were doing that. Many people accepted the Bibles. Out of 90 Bibles given, we received a total of 12 people who let us pray for them and agreed to write them compassion cards. We look forward to following up with pies and hopefully setting up studies.”

Northern Oaks church of Christ, San Antonio, Texas: Mel Hutzler (elder) reports, “We are thankful to the Freed-Hardeman students and our members for their work in the community giveaway, door-knocking, workday, Enhanced Bible Studies, baptisms, card writing, Bible and Mental Health seminar, teaching classes, and preparing/cooking food. We have 47 contacts! We had visitors attending our seminar, and they were already in Bible studies from those contacts. It is wonderful to see everyone working together as the Lord’s Body to accomplish so much. In addition, we trained 25 of them on the importance of using an organized study. We equipped them with Bibles, Back to the Bible, and an additional method called God and Man. Using Back to the Bible, we trained them on how to deal with sin when studying with people living in fornication, adultery, and immorality. We also worked through various baptism scenarios, including child and adult baptism outside of the Lord’s church, using Acts 18 and 19. Using God and Man, we trained them on the importance of using an organized new convert study. Overall, these young people pushed us and gave us a new perspective. Prior to their arrival, we were having a difficult time gaining door-knocking contacts. They lifted that cloud of disappointment and left us encouraged (Proverbs 27:17). We eagerly look forward to the day that they return, and we pray we can go to Henderson, Tennessee, and return the favor by laboring by their side to spread the Gospel there. We had two more baptisms. Robert was baptized on Tuesday and Genesis on Thursday.”

Seagoville church of Christ, Texas: Kodie Martin (evangelist) reports, “We had our first round of passing out new movers’ baskets. We only had two deliveries; however, one prospect was made in which we rejoice! As with all firsts, this was a good learning experience, and we will grow as we become more confident in it; we are just excited to see many in the congregation enthusiastic about the work. One of the elders has a scheduled study this Thursday with a prospect. He is a young father of several children who come with their grandmother, and he has been going through difficulties. I also have a second study scheduled for Saturday, so we are blessed with how things have been progressing.”

Williamsburg church of Christ, Virginia: Jim Bishop (elder) reports, “We made new contacts with several local visitors yesterday. We discovered some connections with current members, so that is always a plus. Bible studies continue. Our morning lesson focused on Jesus’ raising of Lazarus. The news of this miraculous event was received both positively and negatively. The news was the same; the reception was the choice of the hearer. The same is true with our evangelism efforts. God expects us to share His truth. He realizes it is the choice of the one hearing to decide the impact it will make on their lives. As our Associate Minister reminds us, our responsibilities are: pwG = plant, water, God (who gives the increase).”

West Side church of Christ, Salem, Virginia: Jeff Durham (elder) reports, “What a beautiful Lord’s Day. The Williamsburg church of Christ was blessed with a local family who were first-time visitors. They were welcomed by many members and given first-time visitors’ welcome bags. We also had a member bring a first-time visitor to worship. We have one pending Bible study. God continues to bless our efforts. We continue to pray for all those spreading the Gospel.”
